Modern, clean hotel with friendly staff. Excellent breakfast, good food, and a lovely beer garden. Central location, close to the Metzingen Outlet. Highly recommended!

Today I went to the hotel as a walkin at 9:30 p.m. and there were only two rooms available, which I couldn't look at on the website nor could the young man at the reception show me a room "as the reception is about to close". Obviously not interested in giving out a room. Very unfortunate. Therefore 1 star

Super pleasant stay at the Hotel Schwanen. The very nice staff is very accommodating and polite. The rooms are clean and comfortably furnished. You feel like you're on vacation. Food is a grade 1 plus star. Nowhere better, highest quality across the entire menu and also the delicious cocktails.

Rating is for the restaurant alone. I was there once for lunch, it completely convinced me, extremely friendly staff, pleasant guests and a good, inexpensive lunch. I then took my wife out for dinner. Again the staff at the entrance were very friendly and showed us straight to the square. Unfortunately, our table waitress wasn't exactly attentive and wasn't as nice as the others. I ordered a rump steak from the young ring, which should have been matured for 3 weeks. This was perfectly medium fried just as I ordered, my wife had an onion roast so neither of us could believe it was as tough as the sole of a shoe, my jaw hurt when I chewed it. When we wanted to pay, the waitress added €5 more to my tip, which I then noticed and she corrected it again. We then walked out of the restaurant, and later the waitress ran after us on the street and said that something had gone wrong with the payment process and that's why she couldn't lock the table. I then looked at my online banking app and assured her that the bill had already been reserved, but she insisted that the error was with me and not with her new payment system. Of course, the following day I called them and said that we had already said yesterday that a double charge had now been noted. But this was denied again and it was only used once in their billing system. Of course the amount was debited twice. I then wrote an email and the money was of course transferred to me immediately. Overall, I was very disappointed, not only with the food, but also with how the situation was handled.

Perfect stay at the Hotel Schwanen Metzingen! Our stay at the Hotel Schwanen Metzingen was simply fantastic! We received a warm welcome upon arrival and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The rooms are modern, tastefully decorated and very clean. The comfortable bed and the quiet atmosphere in particular ensured a restful night. The breakfast buffet was an absolute highlight - a huge selection of fresh, regional products, perfect for a good start to the day. We were also impressed by the hotel's own restaurant "Zur Schwane": excellent Swabian cuisine in a stylish ambience! The location couldn't be better - right in the center and just a few minutes from the outlet stores. Ideal for anyone who wants to combine shopping with a relaxing stay. Overall a first class hotel with great service, excellent food and perfect location. We'll definitely be back! 5 stars and a clear recommendation!

I really liked it. You need a bit of luck with the rooms but otherwise I think it's one of the best in Metzingen, especially because of the restaurant and bar. Very good for celebrating private parties.

The Hotel Schwanen is a top-class hotel with a very good location, right in the heart of Metzingen and just 5 minutes from the Outletcity. The rooms are modern and comfortably furnished, and the in-house restaurant serves incredibly good and delicious food. The service in both the hotel and the restaurant is impeccable and very friendly! We are very satisfied.

Great location right in the Metzingen Outlet City. The staff was very welcoming and friendly, the room was very spacious (we had a shared terrace with two other rooms), and the food in the restaurant was excellent! We booked a package through Weekend4two and had a 3-course meal in the restaurant. The food arrived quickly, the portions were generous, and it was extremely tasty. Overall, highly recommended. :)

A successful evening at Schwanen Metzingen I was in the Schwanen restaurant with my wife and we had a really nice evening. As a starter I had Maultaschen with potato salad and green salad - classic Swabian and really well made. The Maultaschen were hearty, the salad was fresh and the potato salad was excellent. The veal schnitzel as the main course was the highlight for me: tender, juicy and with a wonderfully crispy breading. My wife was also very happy with her dish. The service was friendly, the atmosphere was cozy – we felt very comfortable. A restaurant that we definitely recommend and would be happy to visit again.

Wonderful food, perfect, loving service in a beautiful atmosphere.

Even after two years, it annoys me every time I drive past this place - hence this late review. I wanted to give my wife a special birthday weekend with a shopping trip, a great dinner and nice accommodation. I deliberately chose one of the best-rated hotels with a good restaurant. When making the reservation we stated that we had a milk protein allergy and asked if that would be a problem for the 4-course meal. The answer was a resounding no – the chef was very experienced with it. When we arrived and checked in a few weeks later, we wanted to coordinate the menu for the next evening in advance so that the kitchen had enough time to prepare. The receptionist reassured us that it wasn't a problem. But in the evening itself, our 4-course menu turned out to be a disappointment: green salad, pork steak with fries and sorbet for dessert. No creativity, no alternative – just loveless. We complained but didn't want to cause a scene. When we checked out we were hoping for a refund or at least an apology - but nothing. Before I lost my temper, we just left. Conclusion: Never again! We are now staying and eating at a different hotel where guests and their needs are taken seriously.

Wer gutes Essen auf top Niveau möchte ist im Schwanen an der richtigen Adresse. Familiär, freundlich und willkommen fühlt man sich im Schwanen. Schöne Zimmer, das Hotel liegt zentral in der OUTLETCITY, alles ist fussläufig zu erreichen.

Tolle Location Sehr schönes Ambiente mit angenehmer Atmosphäre. Wir waren in einem Nebenraum mit Freunden . Hervorragender Service und nun zu der Küche bzw. der Speisekarte; Liest sich etwas enttäuschend ist aber auf den zweiten Blick absolut top. Die von unserer Gruppe ausgewählten Speisen waren alle von hervorragender Qualität. Kompliment an die Küche. Top Service, war nicht aufdringlich aber immer zur Stelle. Das Preis/Leistungsverhältnis passt absolut. Sehr zu empfehlen, wir kommen wieder.

We often stay at this hotel, it is a great place and a great breakfast!!! One minus is the church bells that start ringing at 6am.

We just stopped in for a drink at lunch and were so impressed by the extremely friendly service that we reserved a table for six for dinner. To our surprise, we even got a private room, and our two dogs were also very welcome! The ambiance of the restaurant is very nice, tasteful, and inviting. We ate all the starters, main courses, and desserts, and what can I say... it was perfect! From the service to the fantastic food! The empty plates spoke for themselves! The price/performance ratio here is absolutely perfect. Thank you so much for the wonderful evening!

I've been to many hotels for seminars and workshops over the past few years. But this one is something special. Service par excellence. I've never experienced such genuine guest service. Attentiveness and many little touches that show how much the team wants you to feel comfortable. Complemented by a fine dining experience. But everything is authentic and down-to-earth. A clear recommendation for anyone looking for a place to hold a seminar or wanting to experience Metzingen privately.

Steak (200g) was perfectly cooked with grilled veg and fried buttered potatoes. Served by Michael van Gerwen, who asked was it his waistcoat that made him resemble the worlds greatest ever player :) . Service was exceptional and great value indeed. The location also still has the family touch with all the family still heavily involved which is really nice.

It's always great here. The breakfast room has become very nice after the renovation. I've been here several times now. Great location. There are parking spaces nearby in an underground garage. You're also right in the center of the Outlet City.

Super essen und Service. Zum Geburtstag wurde gratuliert, spezielle Kerzen angezündet und das Dessert mit Tischfontäne als Überraschung.

Like last year, I stayed here again over the holidays to visit family back home. Despite the holidays, the hotel offers top service. The breakfast is very good and the new breakfast room is very cozy. I'll be back next year!

All hotel staff I came across were very friendly and helpful! The rooms are a bit old school, the beds are ok but the sheets and or duvet aren't my favourites. Also you can't adjust the temperature in the room and with the duvet sometimes was too warm and if you took it out too cold. Breakfast was very nice and overall I would gladly stay here again!

Loyal regular guests for many years, this was our last stay at this hotel. We find it exclusionary and discriminatory to only offer lactose-free cut cheese at breakfast, without an alternative for “normal” eaters. It's not the fact that there is no longer any normal sliced ​​cheese, it's just shocking how normal people have to subordinate themselves. There used to be a choice between lactose-free and regular cheese at this hotel. We were offered stinky soft cheese as an alternative.......Sad

We were rather disappointed this time with our visit. The reception was rather reserved, the next morning also the person did not greet and had a full mouth. At the restaurant, the sommelier looks down on us a little even though he doesn't know our experience in the field. Wine proposal that I find expensive in the meantime in terms of value for money. We might try again but change if nothing changes. Missing a bottle of water in the room

Everything was great and the staff is very friendly. The car could be left in the hotel's own parking lot and the whole of Metzingen could be explored on foot - that's how you imagine a city trip!

Wir waren gestern in diesem Restaurant essen, da wir die Empfehlung aus dem Guide Michelin entnommen haben. Das Essen war hervorragend und sah wirklich sehr gut aus. Allerdings war der Service so unterirdisch, dass wir kurzfristig überlegt hatten, das Lokal wieder zu verlassen. Das Essen kam quasi mit den Getränken, auf die wir wir haben auf die Uhr geschaut 15 Minuten warten mussten. Von der Bestellannahme der Getränke ganz zu schweigen. Man hatte das Gefühl, man musste durchgängig um die Aufmerksamkeit der Kellner betteln. Den Wein im Kübel etwas entfernter von unserem Tisch, haben wir uns bis auf eine wenige Ausnahmen selbst eingegossen. Auch das hat niemanden irritiert.  Sehr schade, denn die Begrüßung und der Empfang war sehr nett ☺️

still the first house on the square in Metzingen and now in the middle of the sprawling outlet city, unfortunately it wasn't as quiet in the garden wing as hoped and the duvets were too warm, but the breakfast at 23.90 scores with great juices, a tea bar and good ones Egg dishes, there were sometimes problems with the details

I went to their restaurant and had a tartare steak. The meat is fresh and the spices in the tartare is very good, there is also a fancy looking egg yolk on top of the tartare. The texture is almost like meat paste with little to nothing to bite, this is good for people that like soft food. There are no weird smell at all on the tartare and it goes well with wine. Besides that I also ordered the creme brûlée and it is incredible, very sweet just how I like it. Lastly, service is good despite being busy and I went in without reservations.

Tiptop would be happy again at any time!!

Sehr nette Lokation, wo wir draußen gesessen sind. Das Essen war sehr lecker aber etwas teurer. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Wir werden sicherlich noch mal dort einen Tisch reservieren.

Das Restaurant im Hotel Schwanen Hat einen sehr idyllischen Garten, direkt an der Martinskirche. Das Personal ist außerordentlich serviceorientiert und freundlich. Das Essen war wie immer köstlich. Die offenen Weine waren sehr sehr gut und preislich erschwinglich. Ich werde definitiv wiederkommen.

Richtig schöne Terrasse, auf der man im Sommer in lockerer, aber dennoch gepflegter Atmosphäre sehr schön sitzen kann. Prima Küche, die von einem flinken Service abgerundet wird. Schade, dass der 'Schwanen' sämtliche "geizigen" Vorurteile bestätigt, die man den Urschwaben am Rande der Alb oft nachsagt. Wir essen regelmäßig mit Apero und Flasche Wein plus drei Gängen - sind also "gute" Gäste. Im 'Schwanen' gibt es allerdings Brot, Dip und Butter nur auf Bestellung und für 5,50 Euro. Aber es geht noch kurioser: Ich hatte einen Rostbraten, der sich mit 37 Euro bereits am oberen Rand schwäbischer Gastlichkeit bewegt. Bei diesem Gericht habe ich ZWEI Beilagen abbestellt (grüne Bohnen und Bratkartoffeln) und EINE Beilage (Spätzle) geordert. Diese "Umbestellung" wurde dann mit 2 Euro extra berechnet ... sorry, es geht hier nicht um 2 Euro hin oder her. Es geht darum, ob man seine Gäste für dumm verkaufen will! Wir werden uns reiflich überlegen, ob wir den 'Schwanen' nochmals besuchen.

Everything was good. Apart from repairing the room, the fan was 29 degrees and nothing helped.

Ich bin öfters da und wie immer sehr, sehr leckeres Essen. Der Koch gibt sich immer Mühe, neue Varianten zuzubereiten und es ist immer lecker. Leider ist der Service immer sehr wechselhaft, was schade ist. Das letzte Mal wurde unser Hauptgang vergessen und wir mussten auf den Hauptgang 1,5 Stunden warten. Noch dazu mussten wir auch auf die Bezahlung ewig warten. Schade, dass man hier als Stammgast zwischen den Touristen untergeht.

Good hotel with slight weaknesses. There was still a cleaning cloth in our room and it wasn't removed even after another room service. Otherwise very attentive staff, especially in the service area, also in the in-house bar. Great bathroom facilities. Unfortunately, there is no contact person on site on Sunday evening, so any requests or complaints are not possible at all. The next morning when we left it was too late for that. In principle, but gladly again.

I regularly eat at Schwanen on business - it's very pleasant there, especially in summer, when the outdoor area with a "beer garden" with a view of the Marktkirche is open. The food and drinks are great, both the steaks, the burgers and what else I saw on the other tables. The service is always very friendly. However, the prices are relatively high. Compared to other restaurants, you can easily pay 1/3 extra for the nice location in the middle of the city - everyone has to decide for themselves. I also spent a few weeks in the hotel, very nice, modern rooms, but unfortunately also relatively small. If you are unlucky and get a room facing the street it is very loud or in the worst case scenario you have a room right next to the beer garden and you can clink glasses with all the guests from your desk with direct eye contact - very "pleasant". If you want to fall into bed in the evening straight from the very cozy hotel bar or after work in the outlet city, for example if you are on a business trip with colleagues, this is a good choice. If you are traveling alone in your car and/or are not afraid of the drive, you can get the outstanding view directly from the bed on the Achalm into the Reutlingen Valley + large pool + spa + in the "Achalm" next door, within 10 minutes' car range, for the same price Free sauna on top or alternatively from the Outlet City 300m up the street. Good and rooms about twice as large with space for business work with a similar level of furnishings in the Hotel-U7.

Always very happy again. Great restaurant with regional and seasonal cuisine. Very friendly and competent service. As a guest you are valued and really pampered. The rooms are very clean and lovingly furnished.

Although I only stayed in this beautiful hotel for one night, I was completely satisfied with everything. A super nice room and the service was excellent. Since I arrived very late, I was able to get all my questions answered in advance regarding keys, parking, etc. I would be happy to come back.

Schöner Abend... Kurzfristig haben wir uns Donnerstag Abend für das Restaurant Schwanen entschieden.Mein Mann hatte einen Geschäftsfreund aus Indien zum Essen eingeladen.Eigentlich woanders reserviert mussten wir aus zeitlichen Gründen anders reagieren. Kurz davor reserviert, sind wir 20 Min.später eingetroffen. Alles hat gepasst.Die Bedienung war super,das Essen lecker.Mein Mann, der Geschäftsfreund und ich waren angenehm überrascht.Hatten einen sehr schönen Abend, der durch den angenehmen durchgehend guten Service übertroffen wurde.Wir gehen ab und zu essen,ich bin selbst vom Fach und vergebe gerne diese Sterne! Wir kommen wieder

Qualitativ und geschmacklich sehr hochwertiges Essen bei super nettem Service. Wir kommen auch künftig sehr gerne wieder

Tolle Küche und sehr guter Service! Leider ist das Gesamtkonzept nicht stimmig. Wer derartige Preise aufruft (unsere Vorspeisen lagen >10 Euro, die Hauptgerichte bei knapp 40 Euro), der kann nicht wie in einem Bistro bestuhlen! Wir saßen so eng, dass wir quasi mitten in die Gespräche an beiden Nachbartischen verwickelt waren. Besonders störend empfanden wir das breite und laute "tiefste" Älbler-Schwäbisch zu meiner Linken. Privatsphäre: Mangelware! Am Ende hatten wir mit Nachtisch und einer Flasche Wein 170 Euro für 2 Personen los. Dafür gab es nicht mal Brot vorneweg - das hätte man für 5,50 Euro separat bestellen müssen ... Sorry; aber da rettet auch die beste Küchenleistung (und die war wirklich TOP) nichts!
