A nice hotel, although a bit dated, boasts fairly large rooms, extremely friendly staff, and plenty of free parking. The hotel is just a few minutes' walk from the train station (10 minutes), the dam (15 minutes), the zoo (10 minutes), and the city center (5 minutes).

Very friendly and attentive staff. The rooms were clean and spacious, even with the extra bed. The breakfast is well-balanced and there's something for every taste. Personally, I would have just liked a little more fresh fruit. We had a wonderful stay and will definitely come back again.

We stayed at the Hotel Falkenstein for three nights and were very pleased with everything. All the best to all the staff.

The hotel is centrally located in the city, making many sights within walking distance. Other attractions outside the city are also quickly accessible by car.

A very nice room, quiet, and spacious. Breakfast included everything you'd expect. The staff made every effort to fulfill all our requests.

The rooms are quite dated, there are no showers, and you have to get into the bathtub to shower, which isn't ideal for older people. It's rather annoying to have someone at reception ask questions.

The breakfast is ok, but the dinner is definitely not ok. It tastes like canned food.

We were fortunate enough to spend four wonderful days with our granddaughter in a very nice three-bedroom room. The rooms are spacious and equipped with everything you need. We received a very warm and hospitable welcome and were informed about possible excursions nearby. A big thank you also goes to the kitchen and service staff, who were very accommodating at breakfast and demonstrated a high level of professionalism at dinner. Dinner (we had half board) was always freshly prepared a la minute. We can happily recommend this hotel. Hence the 5*. There are also six different children's dishes on offer daily for the little ones. We would be happy to come back.

I can definitely recommend this hotel! There are plenty of parking spaces around the hotel, and there's also an underground garage.

Dear team at Hotel Falkenstein, Thank you very much for the friendly welcome. Unfortunately, we were disappointed. Despite having registered in writing for the à la carte breakfast, we were forgotten. The breakfast table wasn't set. This was quickly rectified, but not a standard hotel setting. The dirty tablecloths and tablecloths from previous guests were left lying around, and the dishes were quickly put out. The breakfast offerings were limited and could be improved. It's a shame, we had hoped for a little more.

Breakfast as an a la carte guest not recommended

Friendly staff. They wanted to talk to me in English if they knew some. I wanted to talk to them in German. Lots of nice places to walk, wandern. Walking distance to the small zoo and Heimatsmuseum. Currently there is a special display about building the reservoir, Talsperre. The room was big enough for 2 people, not cramped at all. Hot water. Food is good, as is the beer.

Nice little hotel with some drawbacks, staff friendly, breakfast was good. Rooms are getting old and bathroom could have been a bit cleaner, otherwise everything was fine.

Nice hotel for a short break. The building itself is modern, but the rooms are in dire need of renovation. The beds urgently need to be replaced, and the grout and ventilation in the bathrooms need to be cleaned.

At the Hotel Falkenstein we found a nice room, neat and clean. Unfortunately the beds were a bit deep. Otherwise we felt very comfortable in the hotel. We ate very tasty, the choice between 2 main courses was completely sufficient. Otherwise there was a starter and dessert. We were also able to meet the stand-in chef Mario and praised him for his tagliatelle with sliced ​​chicken. You could "lick all 10 fingers" that's how good the food was. Both waiters in the evening, Zoltan and Felix, left a very good impression. The two servers from the breakfast buffet, whose names I unfortunately couldn't remember, were also very friendly and accommodating. I also don't want to leave the two ladies from reception and the very friendly lady from room service unmentioned. My husband and I would like to thank you again for the wonderful stay and everything else surrounding it.

We had booked a trial weekend in Vogtland. It was very nice. Small town feeling.

The rooms are functionally equipped, perhaps a bit outdated. What's not so great are the very soft beds, which also develop a life of their own. This means that the mattresses move on the base because they are not fixed and the bases are not connected to each other. This means that a double bed can quickly become two single beds. The breakfast buffet doesn't offer anything exceptional, but it's okay. The 3-course menu in the evening at half board is okay with a main course to choose from two options. The food is tasty and the drinks are good value for money. What was noticeable was the really intense street noises at times, even though the main street is not the one that runs directly past the hotel.

The bed was quite hard but sufficient in my opinion. The TV was mounted on the wrong wall, which made watching it from bed awkward. Breakfast very nice, good selection, fresh and sufficient. Check-in and check-out were smooth and quick.

I am in the area 1-2 times a year for work and always prefer the Hotel Falkenstein. Clean, spacious rooms and delicious food. The breakfast buffet is rich. I particularly noticed the employee who takes care of the breakfast service. Very neatly dressed, very attentive and will restock immediately if something is out of stock.

The hotel was fine. The staff was very friendly and the food was also good and plentiful. The 40 guests would have been happy about some music for the Christmas season.

New Year's Eve arrangement from December 29th to January 2nd, 2024, booked at the beginning of 23, friendly contact, cooperative and guest-oriented! Rooms are clean and functionally equipped, the service staff are totally friendly and helpful, whether Jessy at reception or Yvonne, Bettina and André in the restaurant service, as well as the housekeeper Simone, ALL consistently nice, competent and always helpful, you won't find anything like that these days everywhere! Thanks for that!👏🏽🍀 The breakfast buffet is plentiful and varied, something for everyone, the warm meals in the evening are okay, I would give it 3*, but that's always a matter of taste! The New Year's Eve celebration with a DJ and a great buffet was great!!!! All in all, I would rate the hotel 4.5* and definitely recommend it!👍🏼😊 P.s. The location of the hotel is great, you can start great excursions from there!

Gut untergebracht freundlich und sauber

Leider hat der Service zu wünschen übrig gelassen für ein drei Sterne Hotel, alle zwei Tage wird das Zimmer gereinigt, was schon doof ist wenn man ein klein Kind dabei hat war noch Windeln braucht.

Hotel etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Sehr nettes Personal....

Eine Übernachtung im Hotel gebucht, Anreise und Checkin problemlos. Leider wurde, trotz Bitte und Übernahme der Extrakosten, die Sauna nicht in Gang gesetzt. Schade denn das war ein Grund für die Wahl des Hauses. Das Hotel selbst im vollen Charme der Neunziger mit Sanierungsstau seit mindestens 15 Jahren. Nichtsdestotrotz war alles in Funktion, das Zimmer sauber, die Betten gut. Das Bad: Hotelzimmer ohne Dusche genießen heute Seltenheitswert, dafür eine Badewanne mit Duschvorhang das wäre ja auch noch okay - für Menschen ohne Mobilitätseinschränkung. In den Wannenboden eingebrannt, im Karomuster - die ehemalige Wanneneinlage. Der Fliesensockel über der Wanne und der Duschvorhang mit starkem Schwarzschimmelbefall. Das Bad ist dringend sanierungsbedürftig. WC-Wasserkasten desgleichen, teilweise auch ohne Abschaltfunktion, da hängt der Schwimmer! Entlüftung im Bad siehe Bild. Frühstück reichlich und ausreichend, Personal freundlich, Auskunfts- und hilfsbereit. Das Restaurant „Zum Falken“ erfreulich neu renoviert. Parkplatz kostenfrei vor dem Haus oder gleich um die Ecke, Tiefgarage mit Fahrstuhl für 10€ extra - Top!

Hotel sehr sauber, Personal sehr freundlich,geräumiges Zimmer,

aus dem hotel könnte man so viel mehr machen, es war vieles ok, aber mir als alten falkensteiner der nach über 30 jahren in seine heimat zurückkehrte fehlte es an diesem ort so einiges, was der name zum ausdruck bringt

Habe hier eine Nacht verbracht mit neinem Sohn. Nettes kleines Hotel. Das Zimmer war groß und freundlich eingerichtet. Die Betten sind okay aber schon etwas sehr durch gelegen. Die Zimmer sind sehr hellhörig. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und das Frühstück hat eine super Auswahl gehabt. Ich kann dieses Hotel nur weiterempfehlen.

Wir waren im großen und ganzen sehr zufrieden...das Zimmer war ordentlich, Personal war sehr nett...ich möchte das Hotel Falkenstein an Freunde und Bekannte sehr empfehlen...gerne wieder :-)

Wir hatten diesen Urlaub spontan gebucht Und sehr schön zum Entspannen, wandern einfach mal abschalten vom Alltag. Haustiere können auch mit gebracht werden. Liebes Persona immer ein offenes Ohr. Zimmer sauber, schöne Aussicht. Kommen bestimmt mal wieder
