Hörner Kroog in Wiefelstede

We had a delicious five-course New Year's Eve menu. It was a wonderful way to end the year. We would gladly come again and highly recommend it to everyone.

We went to Hörner Kroog today for the New Year's Eve menu with friends. Great food, good service, and a nice atmosphere. Completely satisfied and highly recommended.

We dined at Hörner Kroog this evening. A wonderfully cozy atmosphere, a lovely host couple, and outstanding food. Not only was it delicious, but it was also beautifully presented. The quality was superb, and the service was attentive. Highly recommended.

If you want to indulge not only your palate but also your senses, this is the place for you. Every dish is a poem in itself. Enjoyment on all levels is the credo of this enchanting restaurant. The culinary art leaves nothing to be desired; every bite of the exquisitely prepared dishes is truly a revelation. Rarely have you eaten so well. Quality is our top priority here, and you can taste it. Topping it off with a chocolate cake is the crowning glory. I am convinced that this restaurant is one of the best far and wide. Because "You are what you eat"! Thank you for the exquisite and unsurpassed flavors, as well as for the caring and attentive, first-class service. It's a shame that there are only 5 stars to award... We were passing through and stopped by for lunch today. Absolutely delicious food, very fresh herring with a tasty sauce. The schnitzel was amazing!!! All in all, we really enjoyed it and can highly recommend it.

I was invited that evening, but I know the restaurant from many lovely evenings with the old owners. I had a clear broth with Maultäschle (a kind of dumpling). It was good. For the main course, I had roasted saddle of lamb. It was listed on the menu with mashed potatoes and mushy peas. Upon request, I was given spinach instead of mushy peas. I was under the impression that I was getting blanched spinach, seasoned with a little garlic, with the lamb. Instead, pureed spinach (Iglu, the one with the blubber?) was placed on top of the mashed potatoes and served with the saddle of lamb. The saddle of lamb was in the middle of it, fried without any aromatics, tasted boring, and two purées stacked on top of each other just doesn't work! Apart from a bit of jus, there was nothing on the plate. Suspense is created by different textures. I attribute this to the understaffing in the kitchen. It certainly looks like an overworked single chef. Still, I don't really understand, because there weren't many guests in the restaurant that evening. An addendum to the 2023 Christmas menu Unfortunately, it wasn't what I expected. I had duck breast for the main course. The breast was firm and moderately seasoned. The ratatouille that accompanied it tasted bland, and the mashed potatoes seemed to be the kitchen's favorite side dish. A sad plate. The parfait for dessert was so frozen solid that it flew off my plate when I cut it into pieces. Overall, a very nice ambiance created by the previous owner. But unfortunately, the food couldn't keep up. For me, that was it.

We ate here today and it was a dream. Very nice owners and a great chef. Everything tasted wonderful and we'd love to come back. See you soon and bye :) Everything was wonderful on the second visit too :) (January 2024) The third visit, on June 1, 2025, wasn't quite as great. The service from the employee was great, but the prices were quite high. A scoop of vanilla ice cream with some brittle and a handful of strawberries for €9.40. Wow, is all I can say. That's a lot of money :(

We were there for an asparagus meal. The price was unusually high at €45. The asparagus was firm to the bite. However, it only tasted good on the second round. The first round was flavorless. Hollandaisse sauce was regularly in short supply, but was always brought back. The schnitzels were excellent. Two people ate à la carte. Therefore, two desserts (a scoop of vanilla ice cream plus fresh strawberries and a hint of brittle) were charged extra. That was OK. However, the desserts each cost over €9 – which is quite a lot. The ambiance is recommendable, both inside and outside. The men's restrooms are very narrow – you almost have to leave the door open when sitting down, it's so tight.

An einem Montag hier im Dorf mittags ein geöffnetes Restaurant zu finden ist nahezu unmöglich. Glücklicherweise gibt es den Hörner Kroog. Hier fanden einen Mittagstisch mit empfehlenswerten Gerichten. Zudem gab es auch Spargel. Alles lecker und mit einem inklusiven Dessert. Dazu die gastfreundliche Bedienung. Was will man mehr.

We ate deliciously, had asparagus with ham and schnitzel, telkers were well filled.

We often have dinner here. Sometimes as a couple or as a group. It's always very good. The food, especially the Kässpätzle and the seasonal dishes, are very tasty. The Horn family and the legal staff are always very courteous, friendly and particularly personable. We always enjoy coming here.

Very nicely renovated - retaining the old charm - with delicious food. A mixture of Swabian and Ammerland cuisine. Actually a combination that doesn't work and here it is proven that it is possible and perfect. Wines from Württemberg, well selected. We'll be back!

We had dinner with the Horn family last night. When we made the reservation, we ordered goose twice because it really appealed to us on the online menu. We received a very friendly welcome, had a nice table and felt that we were attentively and courteously pampered throughout the evening. The recommended aperitif, the starters, the 1/2 goose wine and even the ouzo at the end were sensationally good. Everything (!) From the red cabbage to the dumplings to the mega delicious sauce is freshly prepared and beautifully seasoned. It was easily worth 140 euros including a tip! Highly recommended!

You can dine like a prince in the wonderful atmosphere of the beer garden. Friendly and courteous service completes the whole thing. Conclusion: delicious food, great ambience. It was a nice evening.

Das Personal war sehr freundlich und das Essen von hervorragender Qualität. Einstiger kleiner Mangel war, das Essen hätte etwas heiser sein können. Wir werden wiederkommen. Es war ein schöner Abend.

Das Ambiente ist sehr ansprechend gestaltet und erzeugt eine gemütliche Atmosphäre. Hier ist man wirklich gut aufgehoben. Die Besitzer sind sehr freundlich und betreuen ihre Gäste sehr gut. Ein sehr gutes Essen ein sehr aufmerksamer Service rundet das Ganze ab. Schön, dass es in der heutigen Zeit so etwas noch gibt. Wir werden hier noch öfter einkehren.

Im Hörner Kroog kann man bei einem tollen Ambiente feines Essen genießen! Spargelrisotto sowie der Lachs waren sehr schmackhaft. Wenn man möchte kann man auch schwäbische Käsespätzle bekommen. Aber auch alles andere. Dankeschön für den schönen Abend!

Zu viert hatten wir einen wunderschönen Abend im Hörner Kroog. Sehr freundlicher und aufmerksamer Service, Essen und Getränke sehr lecker. Alles in allem sehr empfehlenswert.

Wir hier mit 6 Personen essen und es hat uns gut gefallen. Würde im Außenbereich muss noch etwas mehr gemacht werden. Von den 6 Personen waren 3 sehr zufrieden und 3 nicht ganz. 2 hatten die Schweinemedalions die zu trocken waren und einmal Röhrchen leider auch zu trocken. Mir war es persönlich zu kalt im Restaurant. Aber trotzdem würde ich sagen ich komme nochmal vorbei.

Nach einer sehr freundlichen telefonischen Buchung durch den schwäbischen Koch, haben wir uns gespannt auf den Weg zum Hörner Kroog gemacht. Diese Rezension schreiben wir, da wir beim Bezahlen leider nicht vom sehr geschäftigen Geschäftsführer (? - im Service) nach unseren persönlichen Eindrücken gefragt wurden. Wir hätten gerne konstruktive Kritik geübt, zumal die beiden Damen im Service grossartig waren! 1. unser Tisch war im Eingangsbereich direkt gegenüber der Küche zu finden, es war dort unruhig und laut. Es wäre günstiger, diesen Platz auszusparen. Wir haben uns dort nicht wohl gefühlt und sind nach dem Essen nicht mehr lange geblieben. 2. Das Essen kam zügig. Die Spätzle waren opulent bemessen, sodass der Nachtisch fast nicht zu bewältigen war. Der Beilagensalat knackig, frisch, schön angerichtet mit einem köstlichen Balsamico-Dressing. Die schwäbischen Maultaschen und Schupfnudeln gut. 3. auf Bitte wurden sofort Röstzwiebeln nachgereicht - ohne Berechnung. 4. dafür wurde das Leitungswasser pro Glas mit 1,50€ berechnet. Hätte man uns ein stilles Wasser angeboten, wäre es ein völlig andere Situation gewesen. So bleibt ein unguter Nachgeschmack. 5. Die Nachtisch-Variationen hätten wir uns inclusive des Schokokuchens gewünscht, so waren 2 x Cremspeisen und eine wirklich gute Eiskugel auf dem Teller zu finden, der Preis dafür mit 11,50€ ist zu hoch angesetzt. Der warme Schokokuchen war exzellent, der auch als Nachspeise bestellt werden kann. 6.) der geschäftige Herr im Service ist nicht zugewandt, wir fühlten uns von ihm nicht willkommen geheißen. Er war nicht wirklich präsent - mit seinen Augen überall, aber nicht beim Gast, ein kühler und unsensibler Gastgeber. 7. Das Essen insgesamt war gut. Eine größere Auswahl für Vegetarier in der Speisenkarte wäre hilfreich. Die Küche hat jedoch sehr flexibel und gut auf unsere Wünsche reagiert. 8. Eine gute Weinkarte mit ausgewogenen Weinen ist vorhanden. Das Angebot einer Beratung zum entsprechenden Gericht sollte Usus sein, zudem im Eingangsbereich eine Einladung zu einer Weinprobe auslag. Alles in allem punktet diese Restaurant durch das wunderschön anzuschauende Lokal im Innen- wie Aussenbereich und die gute Schwäbische Küche. Es mangelt (noch) an Souveränität des Service, insbesondere an der Willkommens-Kultur des Geschäftsführers. Der Parkplatz könnte mit Schotter ausgelegt sein, damit man als Gast nicht durch matschigen Boden laufen muss und den Eingang zu erreichen. Schade, dass wir dies nun hier aufschreiben, ein kurzes persönliches Feedback auf Nachfrage unsererseits an diesem Abend hätte uns besser gefallen. AHV und HJV
