Hoa Rong in Berlin

The place had good vibes and nicely decorated. The service was really good as well. The open area was green and chill. However the food was pretty okay for my taste. We tried salmon and beef but both were quite bland and the drink was fresh but felt like I had a mock tail.

Unquestionably the best Asian restaurant I have ever been to. The food was brilliant, tasty - that's an understatement. If I'm ever in Berlin again, I'll definitely come here to eat again.

The papaya salad was the most boring I've ever had at a Vietnamese restaurant. It tasted musty and had hardly any sauce, meaning there was almost no flavor. I had to order extra sauce twice before it came. The mushroom salad consisted of a type of mushroom with raw onions and mint in a bland, sweet sauce. The octopus was very tough. Only the starter soup and the dumplings were ok. The ambience is ok and the waitresses are friendly but the food is just not tasty. There are many Vietnamese restaurants in Berlin, I cannot recommend this one.

Went here and it was not too busy. Somehow, the cooks thought they had made our order when they hadn’t, and we were waiting for an hour when food was not coming. We have a toddler who was getting progressively more hungry as time went on. Not family friendly, poor service. The one drink we got before we left was pleasant.

The interior of the restaurant is very busy as the tables are close together. Enjoying your meal in comfort is definitely different. The number of guests is correspondingly high and the staff is correspondingly friendly and quick but also tense. Unfortunately the scallops weren't exactly on point. I expected more here. The forest of mushrooms was exactly what was in the garage. An untold amount of mushrooms in one broth. In my opinion, other spices could have been used more. The other dishes were also rather average.

We went there for lunch and sat outside in the courtyard. The interior of the restaurant is beautiful and the courtyard is very quiet, lush and green! We ordered Forest of Mushrooms (a bit too much coriander/cilantro), The Precious Pearl, Sight of Sapa, Golden Spring (all three as vegan options) and Shaved Ice- Frosty Yellow. Every meal was delicious! The servers were very friendly and I would recommend this restaurant.

We were here twice today. This time, however, we had a lunch menu. We were happy this time too. The service was very attentive and friendly. Even though it got very busy after a short time, the waitress took very good care of us. We once had udon noodles and the burger with salmon. It's a shame that the burger is only available in the lunch menu, we'll be happy to come back. A clear recommendation from us. We were more than satisfied.

We ate here for the first time on the recommendation of friends. We were greeted very friendly at the entrance and given a table next to a small house. Even though it was full, the waitress was still very friendly. She recommended Under the sun (salmon) and Golden Gate, which we really enjoyed. Afterwards we had the white chocolate mousse. Overall, we had a super friendly waitress who looked after us the whole evening. We are happy to recommend the place to our friends

We were 6 people on a Tuesday for lunch. According to the menu sheet, they should have offered us soup or salad with the main dish but they didn't, so we had to ask for it and, although it was not late and there were not many people in the place, we had no choice: they brought us 5 small bowls of soup (not 6). Two of us asked for tap water. They brought two glasses (not bottles), they didn't warn us about anything and our surprise was that they charged us €3.50 for each glass of water. They said they didn't serve tap water. In that case they should have brought the bottles closed and at least warned us when we ordered it. Obviously, we will not return to this place nor recommend it to anyone.

Update 2025: unfortunately the staff has changed a lot, not much interest or desire to speak to the customers at all, the food was edible An absolute recommendation on all levels! The interior and exterior furnishings are a dream. The young service staff brings a breath of fresh air and momentum into the seemingly bare Friedrichstrasse. The food and portions are filling and taste very tasty. Extra requests were addressed without any problems. We will definitely come back, good luck, keep it up!

Nice, charming restaurant right next to Friedrichstrasse station. The service is friendly, and orders arrive very quickly. The food is beautifully presented and tastes excellent. Reservations are recommended—we were lucky, arriving shortly after 4 p.m. The dessert was also very tasty. The drinks menu is also quite imaginative. Conclusion: Highly recommended—and I immediately recommended it to a friend. A good place to eat while waiting for the train connection after visiting the Admiralspalast—or even before. I ordered a vegan dish here twice. On one occasion there were prawns in the food, which was absurdly denied at first, on the second occasion I had two pieces of beef between the seitan. It's hard to imagine what else goes down in the kitchen. I also have big doubts about hygiene.

Delicious food in a nice atmosphere right on S & U Friedrichstrasse. The fish platter was not only top quality and taste, but also plentiful. The other food was also just great. There is also a nice selection of tea made with fresh ingredients. The yellow windows bathe the room in warm light. Like sunset. There is not only a wooden hut in the restaurant, but also a beautiful outdoor area behind the house. The service is attentive and friendly.

We visited this place on our first night in Berlin. It was recommended by friends who visited it 2 years ago. The entree was good and what you would expect of a spring roll or dumpling. A mistake was made as my SO received the wrong wontons but she didn’t make a remark on this and ate the dish served. The main dishes we’re horrendous. We chose to share dishes as this would be cozy. What a mistake we made… We chose 3 of their SPECIALTIES!!! The meat was was burned and there was no taste of eggplant at all. The scalops were raw and the chicken skewers were good but nothing to write home about. The udon noodles didn’t have any seasoning and were just boiled noodles. 3.50 € for this… The rice was plain white rice as we expected but was very dry. The vegetables again no seasoning at all. After complaining to our waitress about the food, her reaction was ‘oh I’m sorry’ but you could clearly tell from her facial expression that this wasn’t the first complain regarding the beef. It was clearly visible that the meat was burned. No compensation was made. This night out cost us 66€. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anybody. By the way, pricing your TAP WATER at 6,50€ is a robbery at daylight.

I'm really having a hard time giving it more than three stars here, even though the food was really good. The online reservation and also rescheduling the appointment were super easy. When we arrived the restaurant was almost empty, but we still had to wait at the entrance for a few minutes, which is kind of stupid when you stand there as ordered and are ignored. Unfortunately, although the main guest room was only sparsely occupied, we were placed behind a kind of partition wall with a view of the kitchen, which we found very unpleasant. Since we don't have much to see back there, unsightly things are particularly noticeable. For example, the really dirty windows and a lot of spiders or dust webs on the ceiling decoration. The toilet rooms are also really nicely done, but everything is really dusty and not really clean. It's a real shame about the really nice atmosphere. It was also unpleasant that the starter was served and we didn't have any drinks yet.

We regularly go here at lunchtime from the office. The location is very practical and things are always quick. It's nice to sit outside, especially in summer, but it's also cozy inside. At lunchtime the prices are unbeatable! In the evening I can't judge the price-performance ratio.

A beautiful, atmospheric Asian restaurant that delights with attentive service and warm staff. The dishes are a taste highlight – full-bodied, refined and incomparably delicious. Our evening at Hoa Rong was simply fantastic and we are happy to have made this excellent choice.

Food and drinks are really good. I'm a vegetarian, and I ordered the tofu curry, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. My partner ordered a beef and rice bowl dish, and he enjoyed his as well. Our drinks were really good (bourbon drink and beer respectively). Would definitely come back! Beautiful location and nice employees!

The ambience makes a good impression but the food is okay to bad. The pho was average, since there is no option for the children's menu, we ordered udon noodles and steamed vegetables, among other things. The vegetables had a black rotten spot on the peppers and the udon noodles smelled like plastic and unfortunately tasted like it too. We were in this "establishment" for the first and definitely the last time.

The worst thing without a doubt is the service, very rude on the part of the girl who serves the dishes. I do not recommend it, one of the worst places where I have been treated.

als vorspeise hatte ich "wonton in the sea", die suppe mit garnelen-wantan (3 stück), bestellt. ich fand sie etwas ölig/fettig. auf dem löffel zog sie sich wie ein öl-klumpen zusammen und haftete nicht am metall. merkwürdig. vielleicht gehört sie so. wirklich schlimm war das nicht. ich habe sie aufgegessen. als hauptspeise hatte ich "sapa seabowl" mit lachs (2 stücke), garnelen (3) und oktopus (NULL). auch der angekündigte pak choy entpuppte sich als 1/4 von einem mini-pak-choy (siehe foto). als ich gefragt habe, was mit dem oktopus sei, wurde mir freundlich erklärt "da ist normalerweise oktopus drin". tja, das nützt mir wenig, muss ich sagen. schade. hätte wirklich schön sein können.

I came here for the team dinner. The vegetarian/vegan food is decent. My team mates appreciated meat dishes. The avocado smoothie was tasty. Cheese cake was on highlight. It was yummy. During the summer I tried the sitting arrangement in the garden. It’s really beautiful. I really like the way they set up the garden.

The starters were incredibly good. Outstanding: the mini roulades! The main courses are very unusual, but also delicious. Hoa Rong is a really nice and cozy restaurant with good service and delicious food, for us the Golden Gate with crispy duck was really tasty. We felt very comfortable and can highly recommend it! Card payment is also possible.

Yesterday we ordered two of the signature dishes - those that are supposed to be particularly good and that the restaurant advertises. The portions were small - but neither of us finished it because it just didn't taste good. I've had better Vietnamese food everywhere in Berlin than here. Both of our dishes were far too dry and tasteless. The restaurant looks nice and the service was very friendly - hence the 2 stars.

Good food but the waiter took a long time to take the order. The real shock came with the bill. We got two jugs of tap water for €13. We asked about it and they said it wasn't tap water, but it was in a jug and was clearly tap water

Super delicious restaurant right on Friedrichstrasse. I had the "Dance with the Dragon" dish - flat rice noodles with very tender beef. I would love to eat this dish the same way again :) The service man was super friendly and gave us good advice. The dishes all came quite quickly - we were happy and would be happy to come back (price/performance ratio was very good).

Went there for weekday lunch, the staff was very friendly and seated us in a quiet part. The lunch offer featured a small selection of starters, main dishes and drinks. After ordering, we got everything very quickly and were pleasantly surprised about the serving size, quality, taste and price.

Restaurant WUNDERHÜBSCH and it's like diving into a new world. Service top top!!!

It's easy to miss this restaurant. But behind the dark windows lies a gem. As soon as you open the door you are in another world. The lighting is even more effective when kept in calm tones. A light dragon snakes its way along the wall. The room is large but the cleverly placed seating islands mean you don't feel lost. The absolute highlight is the garden. Beautifully designed with rippling water, you immediately relax. The food is very good and comes quickly and the ice cream was very interesting and tasty. The service staff are little treasures. Always nice and friendly and sometimes ready for a joke. If you eat here and have the chance to sit outside, definitely do it.
