Historischer Dorfgasthof Hirsch Urlau in Leutkirch im Allgäu

We were here at the end of October for a cheese spaetzle evening. It was a thoroughly successful evening, the food was very tasty. The atmosphere is very rustic, the restaurant was furnished with love and an eye for detail, there is something to discover in every corner. The staff were attentive and child-friendly, even though it was very busy.

We can only rate the food as we were not overnight guests. Service was okay and that was it. Prices are overly expensive for the quality and size of the food. The menu has a minimal selection, which I generally don't see as negative, but not recommended for vegetarians or vegans.

Went on motorbikes and stayed overnight here. Has a lot of charm! The room in the attic is rather small, but very nicely decorated and has exposed beams. Very cozy and warm atmosphere. The service in the restaurant deserves special praise! I was able to observe how the service specialist remained calm and friendly even in the most hectic times. Top! 😄 The food was very good. Also the morning buffet. 👌

Rustic inn, the old, historical furnishings are stylish and well-kept. The service was super friendly and funny. We ordered cheese pätzle from the menu with a small selection, which were very tasty, but the venison ragout was an absolute dream, it was buttery and the sauce was an absolute delight! The best I've ever eaten! The food was served very quickly.

It used to be good there, Unfortunately not anymore! The Flädle soup comes in a small 0.2l glass jar and costs 5.30 euros. I think that's a disgrace! The waitress tends to look away instead of taking care of the guests. It's a shame, I always liked it there before, but I don't come anymore!

The service is attentive and friendly, the ambience is not particularly special, although quaint. Not eating well, fatty gnocchi, Wiener Schnitzel only looks like a Wiener Schnitzel. Far too expensive for that. Not worth revisiting.

I don't think it has to be that big of a selection, but 4 dishes and 3 weekly specials is a bit small. Just drank and then got out.

We came from Center Parcs to eat based on the recommendation. And we can really only recommend it. The food was simply delicious. There's nothing wrong with it. Price performance completely okay.

First the positive: our room in the new building. Clear shapes, functional design, a bathroom with plenty of storage space, good beds and the pleasant smell of Swiss stone pine. Bathroom/toilet, however, not protected from view at night (interior light). Unfortunately disappointing: the meals. We have often ordered cheese spaetzle in a wide variety of southern German restaurants. Unfortunately, the ones served here were by far the least tasty. The small salad ordered with it was equally unpleasant. Maybe the kitchen was a bit stressed because of a wedding reception taking place at the same time. For breakfast the next morning, a large group of seniors arrived at the same time as us at 8:30 a.m. They were not guests of the house, but had come specifically for this purpose by bus. Unsurprisingly, the two employees were overwhelmed with bringing tea or coffee to everyone present both inside and outside (unfortunately you couldn't do that yourself) and filling up the buffet at the same time. The selection there was sufficient, but clear; Unfortunately there were neither herbs nor bacon with the scrambled eggs. It's a shame, we had imagined our fortunately short stay to be more relaxed and enjoyable.

Great hotel, beautiful inn, delicious food and good value for money. Service very friendly and attentive. There is a lot to discover in the Genussmanufaktur.

A stark turnaround since my last visit about 2 years ago! The menu was reduced to a minimum, the prices on the menu were a laughing stock and, in my opinion, completely excessive for what was delivered!! Absolutely no longer recommended! How can you turn such a good restaurant into such a customer-unpleasant dive bar!

My last review with legitimate criticism was reported to Google. I deleted these. Then just like that. Unfortunately you can't give anything less than one star.

A hotel as it should be, rustic, quiet and very tailored to your hometown or region. We spent two wonderful nights in this extraordinary hotel, everything was perfect right from the reception, the service was brilliant, we were given a welcome drink. I decided on a local Kellerbier. That tasted excellent! You can choose from 3 houses at the hotel: the historic inn (we stayed here), the wash house (looked great), and the modern new building. We wanted to take a look at the old inn and were not disappointed. It was partly very rustic, you have to like it, but we thought the room was great. The breakfast buffet is also in the old inn. It's not huge, but a lot of it comes from local producers and was very tasty. On the second day we tried lunch, here too perfect service, great drinkable naturally cloudy beer (Hoigartä) and brilliant food. I was very enthusiastic about the Allgäu sausage salad. Friendly service, expensive food and small portions

I'm really disappointed. When we called, they said there was a reduced menu. Now it comes, tarte flambée with 3 different toppings. Classic Greek or with mushrooms. Aso, or another sausage salad. That was it. What's that supposed to mean. In my opinion, this inn cannot be recommended.

Years ago it was an abandoned village inn, today it is a place that has been revived with a lot of love for the region with an inn, guesthouse rooms, a new hotel, a barn for events and the brewery, which has also been revived as a gourmet factory, just a few meters away. Constantly evolving, but never losing authenticity. Loving preservation of the historical substance, the natural friendliness of the staff that is typical of the Allgäu region, the delicious cuisine by Peter Buhl, the feeling of peace even when at full capacity - simply a place to which you would like to return at every opportunity!

Ordered food today for 3 children and 4 adults. Exorbitant price-performance ratio. Surcharge 4€ if the supplement is changed. Adult portions as “children’s portions” No suitable bags etc. to take with you! Tastes good, but unrealistic! Last time I ate something there!

We were just eating. Prices are okay, but the food itself is “just” normal. Service nice.

We were there yesterday and it was absolutely great. I chose the “earth tip” (it’s great that they offer something like that). It was sauteed chanterelles with potato gnocchi. We laymen didn't know what "sautéed" was so we asked and the chef immediately came and explained it to us in a very friendly manner. The food came quickly and it was an absolute poem. My wife had the Kässpätzle and was totally happy too. Afterwards there was ice cream and Kaiserschmarrn and dinner was perfect. There is a swing, sandpit and trampoline outside, so our two little ones were kept busy. We'll definitely be back.

Very quaint inn. Very nicely renovated and super well furnished. That alone makes it worth coming here. The food is delicious and the portions are very large. The service is also very courteous and quick. Simply worth a visit just in case and can only be recommended.

Hotel meets expectations, historical village inn Hirsch unfortunately only average

I was a guest at a wedding and was very impressed by the great ambience of the inn. Unfortunately, that was the only “positive thing” about the location. When I read the reviews from other visitors, I notice that the “Hirsch” cannot host weddings or larger parties! What we were offered here was simply “an impudence”. When I got my food, I thought to myself what was going through the chef's mind when he placed 2 slices of pure fat on my plate? Or the waitress when I went to her counter several times to get a fresh drink? These are just 2 things that really annoyed me. Sorry, but that was really, really bad.

We were at a wedding in the village inn. I have never experienced such a loveless story. The food was a complete disaster, it just didn't taste good and was carelessly prepared. The bride and groom received their food last. The staff was unfriendly and stressed. You had to get your own drinks. The guests had to cut the cake themselves in the afternoon. There are actually still countless deficiencies for this restaurant. The only thing is the great ambience, but the landlord can't do anything about that.

Ambience very nice, which the new tenant can't do anything about. The food was very poor and served carelessly. Not recommended for a party with this tenant at the moment.

Parking available on site. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The food is freshly prepared (Kässpätzle once a week directly in the dining room) and tastes excellent. We'd love to come back.

Location great, but the landlord (from 2024) can't do anything about it. The name “pleasure hotel” is no longer correct. The innkeeper, his cook and the service staff should also read the job description again and reconsider their career choice. The full plates that were returned from a party of 100 people alone would give every chef and host pause. Absolutely not recommended, resistant to advice and unfriendly towards all guests. It wasn't a joy to work with the landlord beforehand either. It was nice that the toilets were always clean, that's why we get one star. It's a shame that the last innkeeper is no longer there.

Beautiful, historic inn! Good menu, unfortunately prices are no longer “popular” anymore, but the preparation of schnitzel, potato salad and Kaiserschmarrn is excellent. Service also attentive. Reservation went smoothly, you get an email confirmation and a “now show notice” of €30/person if you stay away without an excuse. That's right!

Unfortunately yesterday wasn't the first time: Sat on the terrace in front of the house for 20 minutes, tables full of empty plates and glasses around me, guests waiting longingly to pay... no one comes get back on the bike and continue Better to avoid in the future!

We weren't at the inn, but at the Urlauer Genussmarkt and ate on the market grounds. The Kässpätzle were freshly prepared by the inn's trainees and tasted very good. I can't say anything about the hotel, it's a different building than the inn.

I stayed here for about two days during a road trip, and I loved it! I loved the design and ambience. The whole place has a very cosy, rustic feel. The food was very reminiscent of a traditional, home-cooked meals. Delicious, wholesome food. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful. I had the most unexpected, yet wonderful conversation with someone there. Needless to say, I’ll be back again and hopefully, this time, I’ll be staying for a lot longer.

Amazing hotel, one of the best I have ever seen! I recommend this to everyone wanting to have a great relaxing holiday, they also have great food too. Went there on vacation with my friends, definitely worth it and more!

Sehr gemütliche Gastronomie mit sehr gutem Essen

Wir waren heute Abend im Restaurant ohne im Hotel zu übernachten, davor reserviert und einen Tisch bekommen. Wenn man hier hinkommen will sollte man aber aufjeden Fall einen Tisch reservieren da das Restaurant oft ausgebucht ist. Das Essen ist sehr lecker und es herrscht ein gutes Preis Leistungs Verhältnis. Die Lage ist schön direkt am Anfang vom kleinen Örtchen Urlau. Die Einrichtung ist sehr schön und Recht altmodisch, die Atmosphäre ist entspannt und nett. Das Personal ist freundlich und das Essen wird schnell serviert, es gibt auch bei vollem Restaurant keine langen Wartezeiten. Insgesamt ein sehr schönes Restaurant, wir kommen gerne wieder!

Nach einem Besuch der Genuss Manufaktur wollten wir auf Empfehlung hier gleich essen: tja, ohne Reservierung keine Chance. Also die ein paar Tage später reserviert. Und es hat sich gelohnt. Das Personal freundlich und zuvorkommend. Das Essen qualitativ einwandfrei und richtig lecker "urig". Ich persönlich fand alleine schon die Vorspeise mit Obazda, Griebenschmalz und richtig dicken Brotscheiben völlig ausreichend und sehr lecker. Das Urlauer Dreierlei mit Maultasche, Käsespätzle und Schnitzel mit Kartoffelsalat war dann ein Genuss. Und das Urlauer Kellerbier rundet das Geschmackserlebnis ab. Als Nachtisch hab es für uns 4 einen Kaiserschmarrn. Vorherrschender Buttergeschmack mit Apfelmus und Vanillesauce, ein Traum. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Liebes Hirsch- Team, wir waren zur Silvesterfeier bei Euch. Es war wunderschön. Toller Stadl, super Personal und das Essen war oberlecker -vor allem das Blaukraut- ach ja, und die Sossen hervorragend, ich kann die schlechten Rezensionen nicht verstehn. Der DJ hat mega Musik aufgelegt. Danke an das komplette Team. Wir waren zu 6 bei Euch und alle waren begeistert. Gruss Dany

Das Essen war leider eine Enttäuschung. Es gab nur eine sehr verkürzte Karte mit gerade mal 5 Hauptspeisen und das Hirschgulasch war schon längere Zeit im Warmhaltezustand und das um 19 Uhr. Geschmacklich OK aber nicht wirklich gut, die Spätzle fühlten sich an wie Convenience, die Soße war auch keine Eingebung. Käsespätzle waren schmackhaft aber die angeschmolzenen Zwiebeln gewöhnungsbedürftig, da hätten Convenience-Röstzwiebel nicht geschadet. Hervorheben muss man aber den Service durch zwei junge Damen, die einen sehr freundlichen und aufmerksamen Job gemacht haben.

Hebben hier gegeten, krijgt veel en is heerlijk. Hadden een kassalade, worstsalade hertenragou e. Rund von allgau. Bediening loopt in lokale klederdracht en mooie houten spullen.

Waren zum Essen ! Wunderschönes Altes Gebäude mit Einrichtung von schönen Kachelöfen usw. Empfehlenswert

Very friendly staff. The most comfortable mattress, comforter, and pillows we had of any place we slept in two weeks. Good breakfast. We didn't eat dinner here but the food smells from the kitchen were amazing! Room 3 was very nice. Room 4 got noisy from staff downstairs about 6am (doors banging, clattering, chopping).

The food was very good (not that special like I expected), but the beer was fantastic ( I had to buy a 6 Pack :) We also liked the atmosphere and the design of the restaurant: old furniture (including old children's chairs :), old doors with old door handles, etc. The staff was friendly as well and attentive - this guy noticed that it might be too cold for my little boy so he closed a few windows. Good job!

Wir waren hier zum Essen. Schweinebraten war trocken und obendrein kam er mit kaum Soße. Geschmacklich war er in Ordnung. Mein Sohn hatte ein Schnitzel mit Pommes. Schnitzel war aus der Fritteuse, Pommes waren ok, aber etwas hart. Meiner Frau hat das Curry gut geschmeckt. Alles in allem aber kein kulinarisches Highlight. Für das Preisniveau erwarte ich mehr Qualität. Das Ambiente ist urig und schön.

Sehr interessante Gaststube, urig, gemütlich. Das Essen war sehr lecker

Essen war ok, aber sehr kleine Portionen. Das Urlauer Dreierlei wurde nicht wie in der Karte auf dem „speziellen“ Teller serviert, sondern nur auf einen großen Teller lieblos geklatscht. Service war äußerst schlecht, man saß lange vor leeren Gläsern, keine aufmerksamen Bedienungen (Tisch wurde abgeräumt aber nicht nach einer neuen Bestellung gefragt.) Kaiserschmarren war schlecht und hat total nach TK Ware geschmeckt, teilweise kalt. Eine kleine Portion für 8,90 Euro war viel zu teuer für 5 Stück Kaiserschmarren. Wir waren schon mal da, da war jedoch der Service und auch der Geschmack sowie die Portionen Größen viel besser. Es war zeitgleich eine Hochzeit - was den schlechten Service nicht entschuldigen darf.

Wir haben an 3 Abenden dort gegessen. Der Service war großartig und sehr aufmerksam, das Essen hervorragend. Der Gasthof ist urig und gemütlich. Eine Dorfwirtschaft, wie es sie leider kaum noch gibt. Besonders zu empfehlen: Hirschburger, Kässpatzn und die vegetarischen Maultaschen. Jederzeit wieder gern.

Das Essen war hervorragend zu einem fairen Preis und das Personal sehr freundlich. Die rustikale Einrichtung ist sehr gemütlich und man fühlt sich sehr wohl.

Schöne rustikale Location. War schon öfters dort beim Essen und auf Hochzeiten. Beides immerwieder schön. Super Essen, netter Service. Zudem liegt die Genuss Manufaktur quasi auf der Strecke, die wir im Anschluss immer besuchen. TipTop.

Wir waren hier auf Durchreise und haben hier zum Abend gegessen . Hier gibt es selbstgebrautes Bier und eine sehr leckere Auswahl an Speisen. Dazu ein perfekter und freundlicher Service.

Leckeres Essen und für die kleinen eine riesen große Kinder Portion ( Papa ist das alles für mich) kann man zum Essen gehen gut empfehlen. Vor allem das Zimmer ""der Laden" hat ein klasse Ambiente, wer alten Krimskrams mag wird das Zimmer lieben.

Bedingung leider nicht sehr aufmerksam. Mussten mehrfach unseren Wunsch nach Bestellung äußern. Wirkten etwas überfordert. Essen war sehr gut, hätte aber wärmer sein können.

Wir waren gerade mit der ganzen Familie ( 12 ) Personen hier zum Essen und es war alles perfekt und soo lecker, auch das Personal ist super also gerne wieder

Das Essen war vorzüglich! Große Auswahl an Speisen und Getränken. Die ganze Familie war bestens versorgt und zufrieden!!! Der Service hatte heute etwas zu kämpfen, dennoch standen die Damen ihre Frau und machten ihr möglichstes.
