One of my favorite places in Kirchheim in the summer. Enjoying a cool wheat beer under shady trees, the Hirschgarten has the feel of a Munich beer garden. I particularly recommend the roast suckling pig fresh from the spit, but unfortunately, it's not always available. Depending on the number of visitors, you might have to wait a bit longer for the food, but your thirst can be quenched immediately.

We were very satisfied and would love to come back! Very nice and cheerful ladies! See you next Ott! The late guys with the gummy bears ;-)

If you order pork chops you get little meat because you make two portions out of one chop

The Kirchheimer Hirschgarten boasts self-service beer garden charm under giant chestnut trees – spacious, family-friendly, and quaint. Service is limited to the bar: mostly friendly and efficient, occasionally a bit reserved. The ambiance is a definite hit: shady spots, plenty of space, and a relaxed atmosphere. Parking, on the other hand, is rather difficult – patience is required, or you'd better come by bike. The food impresses with its quality and generous portions, even if the prices are high for a beer garden: spring salad with smoked salmon approx. €14.90, cheese spaetzle in a cast iron pan approx. €12.30, grilled suckling pig €14.60–17.30, Maultaschen (swabian pasta) with egg and salad approx. €12.90. Everything tastes just right: creamy cheese spaetzle, hearty Maultaschen (swabian pasta), crispy suckling pig – all of a very high standard. Conclusion: Despite the high prices, this is a clear recommendation – especially for families with children, as the large playground with its huge wooden castle ensures that the little ones are well occupied while the adults can relax and enjoy themselves.

My husband and I were really looking forward to this beer garden to round off our day of sport. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed. The Chiemsee draft beer tasted like stale beer that had been sitting around for several hours. My baked potato was covered in dressing and seasoning, so you couldn't even see the potato. My husband's tarte flambée arrived half an hour later, after my potato. We can only describe this beer garden as an experience.

A beautiful beer garden with plenty of seating under large, shady trees, creating a very pleasant atmosphere. There are more than enough bicycle parking spaces and even a playground for children. The beer garden operates on a self-service basis: you order at the counter, drinks are available immediately, and food is collected once your electronic pager rings. Glasses come with a 1 EUR deposit, and guests bring back their own dishes. Seating comfort could be improved with seat cushions available on request, especially for longer stays. On the day of my visit (09.08.2025), the friendliness at the counter was not quite as warm as expected, not only towards me. Payment is cash only, with card payments accepted only from 25 EUR upwards - Germany, where are you living? A reminder that some traditions in Germany are still going strong… Overall, a lovely spot to relax and enjoy a drink. Bring CASH to not be disappointed.

I didn't eat anything, but it was a beer garden atmosphere – with all the big trees, there was plenty of shade everywhere. The restrooms were clean! The staff were really super friendly and had a lot of fun. Good vibes guaranteed.

Large self-service beer garden. The sausage salad is highly recommended, but the other dishes were also well-received by our companions. Good value for money. Very family-friendly, as there is a spacious and easily visible playground next to the dining area.

The Hirschgarten is a truly beautiful, traditional beer garden. You can always find a shady spot under the large trees. The food is delicious and absolutely reasonable! A definite recommendation!👍

We were here about three weeks ago. The food, ambiance, and service were all great. The playground is perfect for children, and it's also fenced in. We were here again today. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed with the food today. The meat was very dry and the potatoes cold. The man at the counter (cash register) was very friendly and accommodating. With his relaxed and funny manner, the "bad" meal was almost forgotten. He apologized for the food, and my children each got an ice cream and a small Fanta on the house. We thought this was very nice.

If you like 1 mm breading... It should actually be called breading with schnitzel filling

We were here every evening from Monday to Thursday with at least ten people. The lady at the cash register was invariably very friendly and accommodating. The barman knew his craft and poured the beer. You really had to be lucky with the schnitzels. Some were the size of a chicken nugget, others like a chicken schnitzel, and if you were lucky, you got a reasonably decent pork schnitzel. The fried potatoes, however, were an absolute highlight. The suckling pig was excellent, but the portions got smaller the more crowded the beer garden became. The beer garden was cozy and bright. Possibly some seat cushions would have been helpful, as we were there for at least three hours every evening. At some point, our butts started to hurt. The price is quite reasonable, worth doing once in a while. The taste is really excellent, but the portions are just a matter of luck. Service was completely fine. We ordered ourselves... Nevertheless, we enjoyed our time there, after all, it was the closest beer garden to the hotel. If we hadn't liked it there, we would have gone somewhere else. But we didn't really get full. Particularly shocking: The chicken nuggets with French fries. Five tiny nuggets and a small handful of fries. Even our delicate lady couldn't get enough. A beautiful beer garden with mature trees. Very well-maintained and clean. The food is very good, with a wide selection. The only minor drawback, in my opinion, is the lack of regional beer, but that's a matter of taste.

Quiet Tuesday (beer garden about 30% full), we stood in line forever. Tarte flambée, salad, and suckling pig. After about 25 minutes, the tarte flambée beeped. After an hour, I asked about the salad and suckling pig. Oh, I made a mistake in the transcription, we'll get to it right away. I waited another 25 minutes. The same thing happened to the lady in front of me with a sausage salad. I was half-hearted in my apology; I expected more honesty here. Food: Taste 6/10, quantity a bit too small.

World's best deer parks north of the South Pole

I came across the Kirchheimer Hirschgarten because the Google reviews seemed solid and it was on my way. According to the website and Google listing, the beer garden was open until 10 p.m., and the kitchen until 9 p.m. – perfect conditions for a spontaneous evening visit. When we arrived at 8:35 p.m., however, we were told that the kitchen was already closed – supposedly due to the weather. A glance at the sky: blue skies, a pleasant 25 degrees – the weather was absolutely not a plausible reason. When we asked, the excuse was that if it was full, they could stay open later – even though the place was quite busy at the time. Unfortunately, it seems as if the focus here isn't on the guest and their experience, but rather on a certain convenience or maximizing sales. It's a shame, because the beer garden itself actually seemed promising. But if you don't stick to your opening hours, you lose trust.

A beautiful beer garden. Very comfortable when the weather is nice. Crispy suckling pig was on the menu. Unfortunately it wasn't crispy, but otherwise really quite good. The portion was huge and there was plenty of sauce. I will definitely come here again.

Great beer garden, great location - we were here to celebrate a wedding with very dear friends and enjoyed it from A to Z. Rustic, beautiful ambience, very tasty food and super friendly people who run the shop with a lot of passion and professionalism - happy to come again at any time!

Update 2024: the food is still bad, no quality and too expensive. Drink a maximum of beer there Attention: a deposit (!) is outrageously charged even if you sit normally in the fenced-in beer garden. The note about the deposit is very small and inconspicuous. In addition, the sausage salad is not particularly tasty. But it's cozy there to drink beer (attention: deposit...) and you can spend some time there.

A beer garden without parking. Unfortunately, after 15 minutes of looking for a parking space, we had to give up and look for something else.

A nice beer garden in Kirchheim, with large chestnut trees that provide plenty of shade if necessary. However, I would have liked more beer table sets, because that's part of a proper beer garden. There were three of us and everyone tried one of the different tarte flambées, everyone agreed on the taste, it tasted bland! A company trip to Alsace would definitely bring new, positive insights to the staff.

Very tasty tarte flambée, highly recommended. The suckling pig also looked very tasty. The staff behind the counter, in the kitchen and at the oven were very friendly and helpful. The right place for a hearty, cozy beer garden time! There is also a rustic, festively furnished banquet hall for weddings or similar celebrations. Completely made of wood. Very nice.

Great if you have children, there is a huge climbing frame/castle for the little ones. The food tastes excellent but be careful, cash only, no card payment possible. Self-service, no table service. Parking is a problem, it's best to arrive by bike 😉

Nice staff, good drinks, fair prices

This is a wonderful biergarten for bringing a family. Plenty of tables and seating as well as a wonderful playground for the children. Food was very good. We had the classisch flammkuchen and it was wonderful as well as the kinder portion of fries which was a generous size and very tasty. Maybe a little more expensive than some places, but I feel it's worth it for the friendly and prompt service and wonderful atmosphere. We will be returning.

First of all: nice atmosphere. Then: we called to make a reservation and were told “just come, there’s plenty of room” - we just came and there was no room. We had to sit down and pay three times the price for bad food.

My Swabian heart is bleeding! Abysmal bad food. Were tested: Kässpätzle - dry spaetzle from the package mixed with cheap Emmental cheese and not even melted. Were only lukewarm. No other spices or trying to make something edible out of it. Plus a “salad” consisting of 5 leaves and 3 onion rings in a cheap mustard sauce from the package. Tarte flambée: looks nice, seems to be freshly prepared but tastes bland. You also wonder what the paprika powder is supposed to do on it. Sausage salad: looks like it was prepared in the morning. Smooth, creamy sauce. Schnitzel: Pressed meat from the deep fryer. Suckling pig: apparently the only edible thing. Fairly juicy in a bad dark sauce (from the package?) Never again. I advise everyone not to come here for more than just a beer.

Spontaneous visit to the deer garden. I have to say it was worth it. Suckling pig, tarte flambée, Maultaschen and large salad - everything tasted great. Definitely again when we're in the corner.

Wunderschöner Biergarten mit Spielplatz für die Kleinen. Wir waren jahrelang gerne hier zum Essen. Leider hat die Qualität des Essens so nachgelassen, bis auf die Flammkuchen und das Ferkel, sodass niemand mehr aus unserer Familie dahin möchte. Schade, die Location wäre bei guter Küche eine Goldgrube.

Bei den Temperaturen, ist es nach einer Radtour in dem Biergarten perfekt. Ganz toller Biergarten. Nur zu empfehlen.

Ambiente ist super und mit dem tollen Spielplatz perfekt für Familien mit Kinder. Der Service ist überdurchschnittlich. Echt eine tolle Location. Schade dass das Essen qualitativ nicht mehr wie 2 Sterne verdient hat.

Ansich ein wirklich schöner Biergarten. Preislich noch ok wenn man mit bedenkt das dort für alles Selbstbedienung herrscht. Allerdings sind die Wartezeiten bis das Essen abholbereit war eine Katastrophe. Gut eine Stunde für 2 Wurstsalate sind einfach zu lange an einem Mittwoch abend. Werde deshalb auch eher nicht nochmal kommen.

Drinks were a bit pricey for self service. The location is quite nice and as I've been told the staff is friendly. 2 of us had something to eat and both weren't really satisfied - plenty of food, but it didn't taste well. For drinks, sure, give it a try.

Trotz der Lage im Industriegebiet ein schöner und ruhiger Biergarten mit viel Schatten unter den Bäumen. Freundlicher Wirt. Die Reservierung per WhatsApp funktioniert einfach und unkompliziert.

Der Biergarten mit den großen Bäumen ist sehr schön und angenehm zu sitzen. Der Service am Ausschank super nett. Jedoch das Essen hat mittlerweile nachgelassen. War bis vor zwei Jahren eindeutig besser. Preis Leistungs Verhältnis nicht gut. Mittelmäßige Qualität der Speisen, und das noch bei Selbstbedienung einfach zu teuer.

Leider die ekligsten Käsespätzle, die ich je gegessen habe. Käse war glaube ich keiner dran, stattdessen eine Sahnesauce, der Salz gefehlt hat. Da die Spätzle nicht besonders warm waren, waren sie nach ein paar Minuten zusätzlich kalt. Und das nach 25 Minuten Wartezeit. Leider überhaupt nicht zu empfehlen. Der Biergarten an sich ist hübsch mit Bäumen und vielen kleinen Tischen.

Guter und großer Biergarten. Man findet fast immer noch ein Plätzchen.

Schöner Biergarten. Gutes Essen zu fairen Preisen. Spesisen werden frisch zubereitet und die Abholung wird auf einem Display angezeigt, das jedoch leider an den meisten Plätzen nicht einsehbar ist. Besser wäre eine Durchsage der jeweiligen Nummer, ggf. zusätzlich.

Was ich beeindruckend finde ist der Kontrast, außen zu stehen und noch zu überlegen ob man da rein möchte um dann drinnen festzustellen, eine Oase gefunden zu haben. Das Personal war sehr gut gelaunt und ist für einen Spaß zu haben. Bier, Essen, Ambiente zur vollsten Zufriedenheit!

Sorry- kein 2. Mal. Flammkuchen war hochpreisig aber ganz gut. Ofenkartoffel war gerade so in Ordnung aber mit 9€ völlig überteuert. Käsespätzle waren für mich nicht genießbar. Den 2. Stern gibt es die Location- die ist wirklich schön.

Ein toller Biergarten! Gemütlich. Vielerlei Speisen... Spanferkel. War sehr lecker. Leider hat bei mir die knusprige Haut komplett gefehlt. Große Portion! Man kann aber auch eine kleine bestellen.

Wir haben unsere Hochzeit in der Almhütte im Hirschgarten gefeiert und ich muss sagen es war einfach alles super. Die Vorgespräche waren Klasse, wir haben uns sofort wohl gefühlt. Man hat gemerkt das die Chefs etwas von ihrer Arbeit verstehen. Am Tag der Hochzeit waren nicht nur wir sondern auch unsere Gäste begeistert und mehr als zufrieden mit dem gesamten Ablauf. Die Crew war sehr aufmerksam, kein Teller blieb lange leer auf dem Tisch stehen und kein Glas blieb lange leer. Es wurde jeder Wunsch erfüllt. Essenszeiten hatten wir im Vorfeld ja besprochen und es hat alles wunderbar funktioniert. Uns hat es geschmeckt und den Gästen auch also was will man mehr. Ein ganz großes Dankeschön an das Hirschgarten-Team, Ihr hab einen großen Teil dazu beigetragen das wir eine unvergessliche Hochzeit hatten. VIELEN DANK
