First impressions are seriously deceptive. The owner is the real deal. The food is freshly prepared in front of your eyes and tastes delicious. The portions are unbeatable for the price, especially when you see how much love goes into the dish. While we waited, we had pleasant conversations and were greeted with incredibly heartwarming gratitude for choosing this little snack. We will be back, without question!

Anyone who lets the simple exterior put them off is not only missing out on one of the best addresses for authentic Asian food, but also one of the Ruhr area's most beloved chefs. Top value for money! I'm very glad it survived the coronavirus pandemic and is still here.

Super warm welcome, freshly prepared food for large appetites and simply delicious. Unfortunately, it is not possible to eat on site or have it delivered. Don't be put off by appearances! This one-man business does not offer on-site catering in a 'fancy ambience', but it does concentrate on preparing take-away meals with complete dedication and the freshest ingredients. I would like to highlight the extremely friendly Tibetan chef who never tires of catering to the individual wishes of his customers. Not unimportant: He has a very good feeling for how much spiciness the palate can expect in this country. The concept is a success: at the Himalaya Imbiss you can get individually prepared, freshly prepared and excellent-tasting Asian dishes - sometimes garnished with wisdom from the realm of the Dalai Lama. =)

I ordered something there for the first time just before work as I was driving past and didn't know about the little shop until recently. I deliberately left the rating for the ambience open, as this is more of a kind of "food truck" without being a cart. I then ordered duck chop suey and chatted with the extremely friendly owner while I watched him cook the fresh ingredients. He also explained very precisely what he was doing, for the sauce, etc. Very nice conversation. When eating, you could immediately tell that it was very fresh, crispy (duck) and crunchy (vegetables) and not pumped full of monosodium glutamate or other flavor enhancers like many other Asian restaurants. This food tasted (pure) and natural and was very tasty. The portion was plentiful and you'll be full. Prices are reasonable. I will definitely order here more often. Top 👍

Cant dine in, but knew going there. Food is amazing, tried the noodles with fried chicken and the yellow curry. The better dish goes to the curry, the sauce is delicious. Chef loves to chat.

Protect this man at all costs. He works two jobs, not to make more money, but simply because he enjoys serving other people delicious food. And the food is fantastic. Sure, the store isn't fancy, but the food and service couldn't be better. We were there with our daughter, he loved it, gave her a piece of chicken and gave us an extra portion of fried noodles for free. This man has played through the price-performance ratio... 11 euros for a dish that you can eat twice.

Went here for the first time yesterday on a recommendation from friends and would like to give this place more stars if I could!! The owner is so incredibly friendly and you can tell that he cooks with a lot of love. It's really fun to watch him cook live and chat while he's at it. I've never experienced anything like that before. :) And the food is a poem. Each dish is tailored precisely to your wishes (level of spiciness, alcohol when cooking or not, dislike of certain types of vegetables, ...). We had rice, vegetables and tofu with Himalayan sauce and it tasted so authentic and delicious. I would love to come back today. :-)

The shop was very small, and the dine in option was not possible, but the cook was so friendly even when it was closing time. The food was so good, quality and quantity-very impressive. The menu is sticked outside, and all you have to do is select the dish and tell the chef the number of the dish you want to eat. And wait patiently outside till he calls you to pay. I am not sure if the chef tells every customer this, but he told me that if there is any suggestion or mistake with the food, he is happy to correct it. He said that with a smiling, polite face. I would definitely visit again and again and again. Don't forget to ask plastic spoons if needed.

I decided to get something there because of the positive reviews and I was pleasantly surprised. At first it seems a bit strange, but the quality and taste were to die for. I ate the fried noodles at work 45 minutes later and it was still to die for. The owner also put a smile on my face with his manner and I left somehow happy. Small but nice and highly recommended to take with you.

I was there on a Tuesday around 10:30 p.m. The owner had already tidied up and cleaned everything because there were very few customers there that day. He cooked me delicious pasta with chicken and vegetables from what was still there. Very strong service. You don't experience that everywhere. The food was juicy, pleasantly spicy and the vegetables were crunchy. Clearly recommended.

In terms of ambiance and food, this is the best snack bar in Bochum! Wir sind zum Geburtstag meines Freundes hier Essen holen gegangen - wir hatten rotes Tofucurry, gelbes Curry mit gebackenen Fisch und gebackenes Hühnchen mit Erdnusssauce. Alles war super lecker und die Portionen sind groß. Der Koch ist sehr nett und bereitet alle Speisen live vor Ort zu. Der beste Imbiss der Stadt!

Liebenswerte Küche am Bochumer Westring. Der Koch ist freundlich, hat offensichtlich Spaß am Kochen und ist stolz auf seine Arbeit. Und das kann er auch sein: Klassiker, die man kennt - frisch zubereitet in Höchstform. Dazu absolut faire Preise.

Ich habe bisher noch nie so leckere gebratene Nudeln gegessen. Auch die Ente war super lecker. Der Inhaber ist mega freundlich und man merkt, dass die Zufriedenheit der Kunden ihm sehr am Herzen liegt.

Essen top enter knusprig und der Besitzer ein Traum

Das Essen: Wirklich knackig frische zutaten, das gebackene Hühnchen war göttlich und es war mehr als genug bei der portion reis dabei. Ne ganz andere Sache ist der Besitzer. Extrem freundlich und sympathisch. Der alleine ist schon ein Grund wieder zu kommen. Preise sind mit 10€ für eine lange reisbox mit Hühnchen nicht günstig trotzdem wirklich wert für die qualität des Essens.

Super netter Inhaber und super Bedienung! Alles wurde frisch zubereitet und hat extrem gut geschmeckt. Wir waren heute das erste Mal dort aber werden definitiv wiederkommen! Ist wirklich jedem zu empfehlen.

Echt heerlijke gebakken rijst. Is goed op smaak, in tegenstelling tot veel andere imbiss. Wat ik kon zien houd deze zeer aardige man zijn restaurant uitermate schoon. Wel belangrijk om 20 minuten vantevoren je bestelling door te geven. Hij maakt alles ter plekke per bestelling en heeft hier dus even tijd voor nodig.

Unfassbar leckeres, frisch zubereitetes Essen. Wir werden nie mehr wo anders holen. Danke, für diese wunderbare Erfahrung.

Excellent place for high quality, cheap take out meal. The owner prepares all meals by himself. He is super friendly and very open to preparing the dishes according to your preference. I had the chicken with peanut sauce that came with a side of rice. Would recommend it to anyone dropping by.

Zufallsentdeckung der Extraschicht: winziger Imbiss mit frischer Kost direkt vom Chefkoch. Ein absoluter Geheimtipp mitten in Bochum, bei der äußeren Erscheinung des Lokals waren wir etwas skeptisch, aber der Schein trügt. Hier wird frisches Gemüse im Wow geschwungen und nach persönlichen Wünschen optimiert. Eine persönliche Anekdote des Kochs gibt es kostenlos dazu. Sitzplätze gibt es nicht, wir haben im Auto gesessen, daher keine Fotos, aber es war köstlich, ausreichende Portionen und günstig. Der Imbiss sollte nicht nur wegen des Essens, sondern auch für die Liebe zur Authentizität gefeiert werden.

Ganz großer Sport. Hier findet ihr den Asia-Imbiss, den ihr immer gesucht habt. Die Bude sieht ziemlich runter gerockt aus, aber genau das macht, in Kombination mit dem absurd guten - nicht TK! - Essen, seine Mission klar. Es geht ihm offenkundig nur darum, grandioses Essen zu zaubern. Der Besitzer ist sehr liebenswert und immer für einen Plausch zu haben, während er ALLES frisch zubereitet. Es ist ein absoluter Geheimtipp für alle die nach dem Geschmack suchen, den es eigentlich nur in den 90ern beim Asiaten gab, als es noch nicht vor Buffet-Chinesen nur so wimmelte. An den Eigentümer: Danke für Ihre Hingabe zu Ihrem Beruf. Das ist ehrlich inspirierend.🫶

Habe mir gerade als Bett Schnack eine Ente Süss sauer geholt. Einfach Mega Klasse. Der sehr nette Inhaber hat um diese Zeit 00 Uhr die Sauce nach meinem Bedürfnissen gemacht und war total freundlich. Die Ente ist viel viel besser als viele Enten die ich in den Restaurants gegessen habe und das für 11 Euro für eine ganz frisch gemachte Ente und Sauce. Einfach Hammer. Ich liebe den Laden. Das Essen ist frisch und lecker. Die Portionen sind wirklich groß. Man bekommt was für sein Geld. Was Mega cool ist, dass man sieht wie das Essen zubereitet wird. Sehr günstige Preise. Immer wieder gern 🙂👌🏾
