Heuchelberger Warte in Leingarten

Rarely experienced such bad service! We gave our mother a fondue evening for her birthday. When we made the reservation we also paid the 300 euros for the meal, so far so good. Unfortunately, my mother's brother-in-law passed away on the Monday before the reserved Saturday and on the same day I kindly asked if the reservation could be postponed to another day. It was then briefly and succinctly explained to me that if I had given notice the day before, the reservation would have been canceled without any problem. Since there are now not 7 days, but only 6 days before the reservation, I am welcome to cancel, but the 300 euros cannot be refunded to me... So we go to the fondue evening with another couple. The unprofessionalism continued: the plates for the fondue were set out on the tables, but at our table of 4 they were only for 2 people, which was then corrected when we pointed it out. Then we ordered a bottle of Merlot and the lady came with a Sauvignon Blanc. When we pointed out that we had ordered a Merlot, she walked away snidely, without apologizing, came back with the Merlot, slammed the unopened bottle on the table and left without a word. I've actually never experienced anything like that. There were also disgustingly dirty wine glasses and we were ignored when we asked for dessert. To mention a positive point, the ambience is very nice, but I have never experienced such bad hospitality! Definitely the first and last time!

I'm shocked. Years ago this was a great beer garden with lots of activities for children. Nowadays there is a lot to drink and eat, but no more Kettkars, no trampolines, no craft animation... Speaking of food: there are freshly baked waffles on the menu. What we got was a mushy, warmed waffle. Sorry, I'm out...

Oh how nice. A wonderful evening. Very nicely arranged- everything from the lighting outside, the view, interior design. Super organized, we haven't eaten so well in a long time, great quality. Service was great, very attentive. Apart from meat and fish, we got everything and enough. Even very good eaters get their money's worth. Really great and got a torch in my hand on the way home. We'll definitely go back.

At the foot of the Watch Tower, which marked Württemberg's northern customs border from the 15th century, restaurateurs have created a place for relaxation and enjoyment. A beautiful beer garden with a panoramic view of the countryside and a top-class restaurant with local food and drinks. We treated ourselves to a fondue evening by the fireplace and loved it. It's a nice location. With lots of outdoor seating. Of course you can also sit in the restaurant. You have a great view there. There is a selection of food, drinks and sweets for afterwards.

Ambiance was great, we had an Aperol with a great view. However, there were no more tables in the restaurant and we were directed to the pavilion outside. The atmosphere there was like an ice rink: cold and quiet (no music). When we decided to leave, we kindly asked the lady at reception again about the shuttle to the parking lot. She then directed us out to the parking lot in a subtly annoyed tone, someone would come (at some point)... So we stood there in the cold (20 minutes) and finally walked down the dark vineyard to the parking lot. When we got there, the shuttle was parked there and the driver was bored on his cell phone... he probably didn't know anything about the guests waiting upstairs. The lady at reception probably didn't think it was necessary to call the driver; he would certainly have accepted it straight away.

The reservation online worked great. When we arrived we were warmly welcomed and given a nice table by the window. We all noticed the beautiful and elaborate decoration throughout the room. The waitress was there quickly to take the orders. We didn't have to wait long for the food and everyone was very happy with their choice. After the meal was eaten, the table was quickly covered and the service staff attentively asked about any further requests. We'll be back!

Nice ambience. Food very expensive. Quality OK but not outstanding. But what doesn't work at all: Table reserved until 3:30 p.m. At 3:10 p.m. the waitress comes and says we have to leave because the group that comes at 3:30 p.m. would already be waiting. Understood.

From me ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️! As soon as you enter the restaurant you will be amazed. Owners have really spent a lot of time and money on ambience. There are many small ambience points where 2-5 people can eat and relax. As an example, Panorama (Tower Häusle) hut with UV lamps and 4 seats with lambskin. As an alternative, the vineyard hut can accommodate up to 19 people and has a wood-burning fireplace, which creates a nice, cozy atmosphere. In the yard there are 3 tables with organic alcohol fire pits and a ground fire pit. At the outside sales point there is mulled wine (white and red) wines and beer. What I particularly like is that there is dough for children and adults, which you roll yourself onto wooden sticks that are sold and fry on an open fire. Dough bread rises and it looks like “Tridelnik” or similar to Baumkuchen. There is a barista bar outside with portafilter coffee machines and trained baristas. The food is traditional, tasty and served very professionally. The whole ambience gives an extra positive note on top. I will report extra about the food and dishes. There was too much going on today and not a good opportunity to take photos. The staff is young, motivated and very friendly. I would be happy to come again. Thank you very much

Yesterday we had a four-course meal at the Heuchelberger Warte for a fireside evening. The food was very tasty and very plentiful. For a four-course meal, slightly smaller portions would be sufficient; at least half would be enough for dessert. Service and ambience were really good. We will definitely come back to enjoy the fondue evening.

We were there on February 9, 2025 to take a look at the site because we were planning to rent a pavilion for a big birthday. The location is actually amazing and sooooo beautiful. Then we decided to eat something and were so disappointed. Roast onion was really tough, the salad was very bland and the cheese spaetzle was much too dry. Hot chocolate ice cold. Very, very unfortunate. Conclusion to spend a nice afternoon there, but we prefer to leave our birthday guests somewhere else.

A nice atmosphere with a wonderful view. Unfortunately we were disappointed with our meal. We ordered a small portion of Berg Schnitzel with roasted potato cubes, melted butter and parsley and instead of the roasted potato cubes, we got boiled potatoes fried black in oil, without parsley and without melted butter. It's a shame because we were always very satisfied before.

The restaurant is located on the Heuchelberg and offers an impressive view over the surrounding vineyards. We were here for a birthday party. We were all supposed to run upstairs with torches, but that was canceled. We had a nice little room in the restaurant. The service was just for us, friendly and accommodating. The food was served as a buffet and was average. The beef was tough and the red cabbage was overcooked. The spaetzle was sprinkled with greens. WHY? This has no place on spaetzle, even if they are not hand-scraped. Unfortunately, the sauces that came with it were far too spicy, and not just for the children, who unfortunately couldn't eat it. The mushroom cream sauce was a pepper sauce. Luckily the short ones were at least able to eat the soup, which was well received.

I was able to have a winter party at the Heuchelberg Warte. It is a beautiful location with perfect service. You could already tell from the preliminary meeting that they were competent. The employees were very accommodating when setting up my light and sound system and were very flexible to my wishes and ideas regarding the setup. The serving and presentation of the food was perfect and the food was extremely tasty. The service was very attentive throughout the evening. So 5 stars on all points. Wit had booked a private glassworks for 4 people and it was simply magical! The food was a dream and the staff were simply warm. We would book again and again and are already looking forward to our next visit.

Very nice atmosphere. The food was average. Spaetzle and dumplings were probably homemade and very tasty. The red cabbage was much too sweet and unfortunately there was only lettuce that looked like dandelions - I just didn't have a choice (tomato, cucumber, onion, iceberg or lettuce). The service staff were quick, friendly and attentive.

Apart from the overly salty food there was nothing to complain about.

Standing by the fire or snuggling up in a fur on a sunny winter day, enjoying the great view and taking a short hike from the parking lot is always worth a trip. We did that more than 30 years ago and a lot has happened in that time and it has become a very nice atmosphere! Unfortunately, you can now also see this in the prices, which is a shame and the food selection simply doesn't appeal to us either! But that's a matter of taste...hence a star deduction.

The location is simply breathtaking: a fantastic backdrop with an incredibly beautiful view, perfect for an unforgettable wedding. I was particularly impressed by the dedicated team on site who, with a lot of passion and professionalism, ensured a perfect process. An absolutely recommended wedding location for anyone who wants a stylish celebration in a unique atmosphere!

From the parking lot it's another 500m uphill, by road or stairs. Restaurant with observation tower. Several options for eating or just relaxing with a great view. Children's play facilities. A well thought out concept for all guests. Also recommended in winter.

The many very good reviews are a mystery to me. You pay for the beautiful view and get mediocre quality, small portions and poor service. The last meal at our table came when the others were already finished, I got a small schnitzel even though I had ordered the normal one. They tried to sell us a dish that we hadn't even ordered...

Just beautiful I was bored, googled... then got excited as to why I hadn't noticed this wonderful company on the vineyard summit before. Breathtaking views in several directions...Next time definitely with the whole family. The hour drive was worth it :)

Went back quickly after a great running experience today. Good thing we had reservations. The ambience - great. The food - brilliant. The service - small drawback, the side salad, the starter soup and the main course came 10 seconds apart, a shame. For a restaurant with high standards, the distance should be a given. The beer was also very tasty. The beer garden outside was well filled and very idyllic. The waiting room is definitely worth a visit, it's best to reserve in advance 👍🏻

Wonderful event - from the torchlight walk, mulled wine, to the food, everything was perfect. Melissa worked out at least five legs as a waitress and made us feel completely at home!! Small suggestion: Fondue for six people at a long table is unfavorable - or at least place the pot in the middle and meat on smaller plates to the right and left. Of course a round table would be ideal… I’m looking forward to next time!! 🙃

We had the pleasure of spending a wonderful evening at the Heuchelberger Warte. From the atmospheric ambience to the warming punch to the excellent food – everything was really great! Particularly noteworthy is the excellent price-performance ratio: the portions are generous and the quality of the food leaves nothing to be desired. The service is also very friendly! A small point of criticism, however, would be the €1 fee for the shuttle. Although the amount is small, it would be helpful if this information was communicated online in advance. Since we hardly have any cash with us, we had to borrow something at short notice. An option to pay the fee directly online would be a useful improvement. Apart from that, our visit was a very special experience that goes far beyond an ordinary restaurant visit. We can recommend the Heuchelberger Warte!

What a restaurant and what a view. The food, service, ambience and the views are just phenomenal. The food is absolutely delicious and the cocktails are just as perfect as they can be. We were here for Christmas party and it was an amazing evening. They do have many small taverns and separate halls for private parties. They do have bonfire for the outside seating. The ambience is amazing: specially outside where you feel fresh and directly in the nature and all those beautiful light decorations just made it much more beautiful. The people at service were very attentive and quick with the requests. The cocktails were the most interesting part of the evening; really high quality service at the bar. I am sure this place is amazing during the summer time too. This place has got some amazing views of the city. When you get to the small tower; you do get a 360 degree panoramic view and it is breathtaking.
