Herrenküferei in Markgröningen

There were eight of us there, and we mostly had roast beef and Wiener schnitzel. Everyone enjoyed it very much. A fresh draft beer went perfectly with it.

Very delicious food in a sophisticated atmosphere. The menu isn't extensive, but everyone is sure to find something they like. Highly recommended.

Was here for the first time today and definitely won't be the last! Very well-kept ambiance, the food was top-quality and well-crafted, good value for money, and the very friendly and courteous waitresses...what was especially generous was that we weren't asked to leave, even though they were only open until 2 p.m. Thank you again for that 🙂 We only left the restaurant shortly before 3 p.m., and that won't happen again next time...all in all, a definite recommendation!

It was great...food and service were very good...unfortunately, there's also a criticism...because now our clothes completely smell like "kitchen" and have to be aired out or washed thoroughly without exception...

This was the fourth time we went for dinner this year, the second time in the evening. Unfortunately, this time it was a disappointment. We had several complaints. The onion-flavored meat was breaded, which wasn't mentioned on the menu, and the fries were too greasy (old oil?). The spinach dumplings, on the menu with wild mushrooms, only came with mushrooms. The lettuce leaves on the side salads were much too large. We also found it bad that the fruit spritzer was only available in bottles (Teinacher). Very bad: A Remy Martin we ordered, which wasn't brought to the table, ended up on the bill. Also noteworthy, unfortunately, was that the server himself stated that he was from the breakfast service. Conclusion: Out of four meals, two were objectionable, and the prices were significantly higher than those of a restaurant. Were we simply unlucky? We won't be back anytime soon.

We had dinner at the Herrenküferei for the second time yesterday and were thrilled. The service is warm and attentive. The wine selection is excellent, and most of them are available by the glass, which I think is great. This means you can choose a different wine with each course. We needed a gluten-free meal, and it worked out perfectly. They even brought in special pasta and prepared it. Thank you so much again for that. Everything tasted truly delicious. We'd love to come back.

Until recently, the Herrenküferei was one of our favorite restaurants. Unfortunately, its success hasn't led to increased kitchen staffing, and we're having to serve more guests than we can handle. We find it a shame to wait over an hour for food to be served, with salads arriving in the middle of the meal.

A restaurant centrally located on the market square in Markgröningen. They serve German cuisine and have a great selection of beers. We've eaten there several times in various groups and have never been disappointed. Both the service and the quality of the food have consistently been excellent. You can tell that everyone puts in a lot of effort. This justifies the somewhat higher prices. If you like, you can sit outside when the weather is nice, but the interior is also very pleasant. I would definitely recommend making a reservation. The best place to park an electric car is at the charging station on Schlossgasse, from where it's just a short walk. Alternatively, the Festplatz parking lot, about 500 meters away, is a good option. It offers regular parking spaces as well as charging stations.

Everything was great. Such friendly and competent service. The food was excellent. Delicious aperitif. We'd love to come back.

Markgöningen's new restaurant highlight! The men's cooperage awaits you with great regional dishes, which are served in the cozy dining room. The menu is very extensive and in places focuses on the classic onion roast (in many variations). The wild garlic soup is also highly recommended. At 240g, the onion roast is a more than generous portion and it is literally swimming in sauce. A few spoonfuls less sauce would have been helpful, as the freshly scraped spaetzle would run out beforehand. The wine list initially welcomes you with a variety of well-known and lesser-known champagne brands before we get down to business. There is a perfect amount of white/red and rosé wines from both the region and the rest of Europe. What really stands out is that almost all bottled wines can also be ordered by the glass. Very rare and really great. I can fully recommend a visit to the men’s cooperage. Keep it up!

We were there for the country house brunch and will be back for one brunch or another.

Classy and yet normal portions, waitress could have come more often, otherwise very satisfied! Suitable for a date but also for a group dinner.

simply brilliant - everything is perfect here - service, ambience, quality of food and drinks. The “Zeitgeist” as an aperitif was particularly special! Fantastic soups, a great cordon bleu and a tiramisu with fruit leave nothing to be desired. A real benefit for the region!

Since it reopened last year we have been going there again and again, mostly for lunch. Delicious food, fast service! Local food and drinks round off the offer. Always happy to come back.

Four of us had dinner on Sunday. We tried each other again. Everything is as always: perfect! Whether vegan or “normal” simply brilliant. We come so often and it will stay that way because everything is consistent. Service, never wait long...thank you

We went for lunch on Sunday. We like the atmosphere, very friendly and professional service. Cloth napkins and tablecloths. Very good wine selection. A surprise was the greeting from the kitchen, very tasty. We had soup, salad, chicken and kidney plus lemon mousse. Everything perfect.

Yesterday I had dinner with my wife and a friend in the Herrenküferei. The historic inn has a great ambience, both from the outside and from the inside. You immediately feel at home, arrived. We were greeted very friendly by a cheerful employee. The interior makes a very dignified impression, so that the lively employee seemed like a lively "splash of color". We also ate. Salmon on spaghetti with vegetables and onion roast. Everything tasted great. German restaurants are rarely able to put a good vegetable on your plate. But it was very tasty here. The Maultaschen with the roast roast was also simply great. A lovely evening in a quiet, dignified atmosphere, what more could you want.

We were in the men's cooperage before and during the shepherd's run. It was beautiful! The service and friendliness here in the house were absolutely top class. The food in the hotel's own restaurant is absolutely not the norm but far above the norm. Sophistication with a passion for craftsmanship. People still cook properly here and you can taste it. Everything is fresh and of the best quality. Thank you for this wonderful time, we will come back.

There is still a lunch menu here - many no longer offer it! You can dine outside with a view of the market square, the food came quickly and was tasty.

The room was comfortable, and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. We had breakfast every morning and got to have a lovely dinner date at their restaurant which was a 10 out of 10! The chef there is very talented, and we got to taste the finest of German cuisine. The location is in the heart of Markgröningen, a very romantic and medieval setting. I would highly recommend to add this to any visit here!

We were guests at the Herrenküfferei on Valentine's Day. The reception and the ambience were very harmonious and successful. The food was pure poetry, the roast medium and tender as one could wish for, the service and also the kitchen deservedly have 5+ stars. The food was impeccable. There are mostly classic dishes that are very well prepared by hand. I was also impressed by the quality of the ingredients. The Maultaschen tasted like mom made them. And the vegetables, like part of the menu, are seasonal and not the boring "market lady vegetables" that you would find on any frozen shelf. The prices are fair and the service is unusually good, unobtrusive but always on hand. It gets quite warm in the rooms in the evening. Also because the restaurant was full when we visited. Making a reservation in advance is therefore recommended (and in no case does any harm). Since the restaurant is located directly on the market square, you can easily park in numerous parking spaces within walking distance of the market square. It was an all-round successful evening, which is why we would like to come back.

It was our first time here for dinner and definitely not the last time. The reception was very friendly, as was the service. The Ziegler Zeitgeist aperitif was a real surprise. Our food, the salmon and the pork cheeks, were simply top quality and visually great. Clear recommendation, keep it up, we'll definitely be back.

Very good restaurant with friendly service

The first visit for dinner leaves you wanting more. The ambience is stylish and matches the old walls and the restaurant is located in the heart of Markgröningen on the beautiful market square. The service was very courteous, friendly and attentive throughout the evening. The tomato and cream cheese terrine (hope I was paying attention) as a greeting from the kitchen was a successful start and tasted amazing. As a starter I had the orange/purple cauliflower soup with strudel strips and crispy shrimp - very good and a great combination. The main course was the classic: Küfer's Swabian onion roast with Maultäschle, fried potatoes and a colorful salad plate. The cooking level was medium rare and it tasted great. Unfortunately, I didn't have any room for dessert. It will be tested next time. Small tips for optimization: unfortunately it was relatively warm and stuffy in the guest room and we couldn't understand whether it was due to the very warm temperatures (27 degrees) during the day at the beginning of April or whether the ventilation (if there was one) wasn't working. When paying the bill, only the total amount was stated and not the drinks and food charged. The menu on the homepage has various spelling errors. I'm curious to see when "breakfast & brunch" will actually be offered. The homepage currently has no content. It's definitely worth trying too :-)

A very cozy little hotel, the room is very quaint and deliberately kept a bit old-fashioned. Everything very clean and inviting. My room was very quiet with a view of the beautiful market square. The breakfast was very rich and tasty. The restaurant didn't promise ordinary cuisine, rather something upscale and it fulfilled its promises in every respect, it tasted very good, was full of ideas and was really freshly prepared. The staff was always very nice and the restaurant waitress always had a friendly smile on their faces. I enjoy being a guest there and would be happy to come back.

The online reservation was really quick. When we entered the restaurant we were greeted very friendly, even though the waitress was visibly stressed. Drinks came quickly. The food took a while to arrive, but this was also excused due to a lack of staff in the kitchen. We thought it was good that we were treated so honestly and transparently. The food was really very tasty. I had the lamb with bacon beans. The beans could have been fried for 1-2 minutes longer. But it's complaining on a high level. The air conditioning didn't work so it was very warm. But this too was excused. The service person did a great job. We felt very comfortable. The very exclusive and interesting menu makes you want more. We'll definitely come again. I would also make the entrance a little more inviting. Cable drum and coffee ready as the first visible impression is a bit of a shame for such a great restaurant with this actually nice ambience. I'm giving it 4 stars because of the few small errors. And I'm sure that the missing 5th star will be added on the next visit. This restaurant is definitely recommended and an asset to Markgröningen. I wish the restaurant all the best for the future and continued good, motivated staff.

I was there today with my mother for her birthday. The food is fantastic. Everything is freshly prepared. The sauce for the lamb was so tasty because the stock had already been prepared for several days. A poem and the taste of thyme integrated so perfectly and unobtrusively that I ate the sauce with hand-scraped spaetzle with onion roast. And how does my stomach know that everything is true? Despite enjoyment and good satiety with salad, main course, drinks and a dessert that would do justice to any 6 star hotel, also visually... NO feeling of fullness. Everything fresh and prepared to perfection. Medium. So the onion roast. Any time. Price performance ratio is amazing. This can easily cost three times as much in other restaurants. I don't want to forget the great humanity of all the employees there. The cook, the owner and the waiter. Everyone shared their time and experiences with us. Again any time. Jörg Ellert

Service is top, our dishes were good. I think it's a shame that there is only one vegetarian dish. Although the dish was beautifully presented, it was too salty for me.

We were there for dinner on a Tuesday. We didn't need a reservation. Markgröningen probably doesn't go out on Tuesdays. We had the almost undivided attention of the very friendly, pleasant service. Attentive and quick. The boss congratulated my husband on his birthday and then cooked a delicious meal for us. The pork cheeks were tender and the vegetables were crunchy. The mayor piece was perfect too. Unfortunately there was no rosé wine on the menu, but I liked the red wine. We also enjoyed the dessert panna cotta and white chocolate mousse. Gladly again.

viel Luft nach oben… das Carpaccio von der gelben Beeten war am Rand trocken und gefühlt nicht frisch geschnitten. Die größte Enttäuschung ist die Weinauswahl: eigentlich keine Flaschenweine und zur Barolosauce hätte ich schon auch einen Barolo erwartet.

Einfach Super ! Ich hatte den Klassiker, Zwiebelrostbraten mit Bratkartoffeln und einer selbstgemachten Maultasche. Zur Vorspeise ein wenig Vegetarisches. Alles perfekt zubereitet und sehr schmackhaft!

Nach meinem eigenen Test kann ich mit Zuversicht sagen, dass das Essen in der Herrenküferei wahrhaft überragend ist. Die Gerichte sind nicht nur geschmacklich exquisit, sondern auch liebevoll zubereitet und präsentiert. Die Vielfalt der Aromen und die Qualität der Zutaten sind beeindruckend. Der Service ist ebenfalls herausragend und trägt zu einem rundum angenehmen gastronomischen Erlebnis bei. Insgesamt kann ich die Herrenküferei uneingeschränkt empfehlen, wenn Sie auf der Suche nach einer erstklassigen kulinarischen Erfahrung sind mit rustikalem edlen Ambienten auch im Hotel an sich, dann genau hier🔝!
