Herr Dang in Potsdam

Huge portions that will satisfy everyone, delicious and authentic food with plenty of vegetables and sauce. The vegan dishes were also incredibly tasty, and the papaya salad with shrimp was generous with the shrimp. You really get a lot for your money, and it tastes fantastic. 100% recommended!! If we had known beforehand how huge the plates were, we wouldn't have ordered any appetizers, because we wouldn't have needed them to feel full. But they were still very tasty.

I always eat here because the food (except for sushi, which I haven't tried yet) is always delicious. The service is competent, not particularly polite, but that doesn't bother me because you can chat in peace. The restaurant is cute and cozy, but I prefer sitting outside. I usually pay €15-20 for a meal and a drink.

Really tasty and big size portions. The food came in less than 10 min and was rich in flavour. The stir fry veggies with beef and noodles, the chicken curry, duck with fried rice. Definitely recommend!

A small Vietnamese restaurant in the Dutch Quarter. It smells pleasantly of freshly prepared food. Apparently, they use little or no additives such as flavor enhancers, as the MSG smell so often typical of Asian restaurants is absent here. The menu is clear, and dishes can be customized. We had the organic "Mango" salad, rice, vegetables (carrots, sprouts, onions, broccoli), mango sauce, coconut milk, peanuts with shrimp. The ingredients were fresh, as we could distinguish the individual ingredients by taste. The sauce was so delicious that we ordered more rice so as not to "waste" a single drop. To round off our culinary journey, we shared a rich, flavorful baked banana. The food was very digestible. We'll be back :-)

My first time visiting Postdam and having the authentic Viet foods made me feel home. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Highly recommend fried rice, red duck curry and stir fried beef with vermicelli.

Classic Vietnamese restaurant with plenty of seating. High chairs are also available. The service was nice. However, you can't pay by card.

Disastrous service! Plates are snatched from under your nose, and you feel unwanted! The food arrived quickly, but that was it.

I ate there with my son; you feel like you're being brushed off because the waiters are so quick to take your food selection. On top of that, when I asked if they wanted passion fruit or mango spritzer, the waitress with glasses replied "no." She then showed me an iced tea on the menu for a whopping €6.90, which I should order. When I flipped to a page, I found all sorts of fruit spritzers for a fraction of the price, including mango spritzer. The food, unfortunately, is nothing special. Our wonton soups tasted strongly of cinnamon sprinkled over them, and the spring rolls were filled with minced meat and didn't taste particularly good. There are better places in Potsdam, but here you get the feeling that they cater to tourists who come once and then never return. A guest at the next table also rudely dismissed a friendly inquiry. We were also immediately informed that they only accept cash.

It was very tasty again, as always.

Food tastes very good and service

There's a wide selection of dishes, without the endless lists you'd find at a snack bar. Everyone in the group enjoyed the food and it looked appealing. The drinks selection was also very good. Service was very good and quick, and very attentive.

The food is delicious and generous. It's not cheap, but it's not overpriced either. There's plenty of seating, and it fills up quickly. Even though we went after lunchtime, it was still crowded. The restrooms are also comfortable, which is a plus. The staff are friendly, too.

I visited here with my family during our vacation because this restaurant had been recommended to us. Unfortunately, our first impression was somewhat bleak: Some of the tables were unstable and wobbly. The ambiance was more reminiscent of a simple food stall, so one shouldn't expect a particularly clear sequence of dishes. However, I made the mistake of ordering a starter plate. It tasted perfectly fine, but it caused a bit of a commotion: We had barely started eating the starter when all the main courses were served at the same time, giving us little opportunity to enjoy the courses in peace.

A very nice restaurant located in the pedestrian zone with plenty of outdoor seating. Unfortunately, our drinks didn't come with ice cubes, but this was changed upon request. The food, fried prawns and mango sot, was okay. Unfortunately, we weren't completely impressed, but it was generally good. A solid restaurant in a top location.

The food was a bit salty, but okay. Unfortunately, the waitress was very unfriendly—she made us wait for a long time while she was on her phone and sat us in an inconvenient seat. Furthermore, we only learned after ordering that payment was cash only. Luckily, we had cash, but that's something you should have mentioned beforehand. Other employees, however, were friendly.

I didn't feel comfortable here. Inside, I found it simple and a "just grab a quick bite and go" atmosphere. There were crates of drinks everywhere. (The restroom wasn't my cup of tea either.) The food is relatively inexpensive. But it's nothing special. Our service was extremely curt, as if we were a nuisance; headphones in and a brief reminder that payment was cash only. Seating areas inside and outside. No warmth. No cordiality.

Unfortunately, this didn't live up to our expectations. Compared to Herr Dang in Werder or Mami Dang on the canal, this was a complete disaster. Bland food, total hecticness in the store, everything in the decor looked thrown together, the staff didn't seem amused when we paid with a voucher, used chopsticks in the cutlery basket, etc.

They don’t let you pay with card and most of the waiters don’t speak English

I had a delicious vegan duck here, one of the vegan options. I can definitely recommend it.

This is the best restaurant in Pottsdam, Germany for Vietnamese food. There is a variety of Vietnamese style salads, curry, pho varieties, sushi, Vietnamese coffee, Vietnamese lychee drinks. Service was quick, servers were polite. Would come here again.

The food was good. Unfortunately, the main course came first, then an appetizer, then the second main course, and then the second appetizer. That was annoying. I would have liked to have eaten the appetizers first and then the main courses with my wife.

We were out in Potsdam with friends today and stopped by Mr. Dang's for lunch. We were immediately greeted warmly. Luckily, they still had room for the six of us. The food was absolutely delicious. We were not disappointed. We highly recommend this restaurant. Thank you very much.

I loved my bowl of pho with a crispy roll. The flavorful broth was so comforting, and the crispy roll added the perfect crunch. Totally satisfying and something I’d happily enjoy again!

I have eaten in allot of restaurants in Potsdam and this restaurant is my favourite. Constant quality tasty food that caters for all needs. Fast service and a lovely atmosphere. Just no card payments are allowed.

All in all, a nice place. However, they only accept cash payments. Certainly not appropriate for the location and the prices.

We were there spontaneously and the store was well attended. The service was a bit hectic but everything went very quickly. A waiter saw that I had run out of peanut sauce for the summer rolls and brought me a new bowl without asking. The peanut sauce is very tasty. Recommended :)

We were there on the evening of May 2nd, 2025. It was just starting to rain, it was no longer possible to sit outside and we had just been turned away from the Italian restaurant opposite because there was no space. Although Herr Dank was relatively full, we were greeted very friendly and after a short time we were shown a free seat, which we gladly accepted. Ordering was quick and easy and after a short time we had the drinks and shortly afterwards the food. Everything was delicious and the staff was very friendly despite the full house. Only the toilets were clean, but still not exactly up to date. But we were there to eat and will definitely come back.

Lots of choice and good taste. Prices are a bit high. 4 people 100€ negative: Both waitresses played more with their cell phones than making eye contact with the guests. But when they were at the table, they were always friendly.
