We used to enjoy the steakhouse, but now we can't recommend it anymore. The prices have gone up again. The value for money is no longer good. The ambiance on the terrace isn't cozy, and the service leaves a lot to be desired. A salad with baked mushrooms for 17 euros is quite a lot... Although they serve it with a baguette, the meager portion still doesn't fill you up.

The food is good, but it doesn't blow you away. We've eaten worlds better, and we're absolutely willing to pay for it! Unfortunately, the prices are by no means justified! Charging over 5 euros for frozen steakhouse fries is a bit cheeky. Selling four mini bruschetta as a starter for over 7 euros is outrageous. You should also definitely specify how you want your meat when ordering, otherwise it will be served rare. The waiters don't always ask how you want the meat done. The service is generally a bit slow and rather relaxed. The young girls like to chat at the bar in groups of three or four, which is why we waited 20 minutes for the bill in a nearly empty restaurant. A quick explanation of the price: We had four drinks, one of which was an aperitif with alcohol and the rest was lemonade. We then had a starter and two main courses. We paid a total of 100 euros for that, and that's quite a lot. Therefore, everyone has to decide for themselves whether they want to invest in Hammelburg (we are not talking about St. Tropez here).

It was our first time here and we were more than happy to have made the long journey of over 50 kilometers. Great service; I had the surf and turf steak. It was superbly prepared and beyond delicious. If you want a great steak for your money, this is definitely the place.

I regularly go to the Black Bull, and this time, too, the atmosphere was pleasant and the service staff friendly and prompt. I usually have the Hunter's Skewer or the Hunter's Steak, which are always excellent. Today, I opted for the Chimichangas Pueblo… a tortilla filled with turkey breast, coconut, pineapple, and corn, topped with cheddar cheese, served with salad (€19). The filling didn't convince me; it lacked the spice and refinement I expect from a 'Tex-Mex' dish. The turkey could have been more tender. The highlight of the dish was definitely the salad! The yogurt dressing was delicious and beautifully fresh. I also liked the generous portion of crème fraîche that came with it. Overall, the meal wasn't bad by any means, but I wouldn't order it again for the reasons mentioned. But, as always, it's a matter of taste. The recently redesigned menu is sure to have something for everyone with a great mix of appetizers, salads, beef/pork, a wide selection of sides, Tex-Mex, vegan alternatives, and even desserts. I'll continue to eat there regularly!

For me, the steakhouse is the most expensive but also the best restaurant in the area. - So far. I treat ourselves to a visit there on certain occasions to make the evening special. The prices, like everywhere else, have risen significantly. But that's okay if the value is worth it. Unfortunately, in our view, that wasn't the case. While I was waiting at the "reception bell," a man appeared several meters away in the restaurant. At first, I thought he was a guest, until he asked us, from several meters away, if we had a reservation. The menus were covered in beer (?) on the inside and ketchup or something similar on the outside. When the food was served one after the other and placed on the table, we had to ask for cutlery. But I actually felt uncomfortable because, during our stay, Nirvana, Volbeat, Kraftklub, and some punk band I didn't know played over the speakers. Of the approximately 20 guests at the time, an estimated 80% were over 50/55 years old. (When we left, however, the restaurant was filled with a much younger crowd.) The food was good, and the service was friendly and attentive. But if I want to enjoy a special evening, or rather a meal (!), in the future and am willing to spend more money, I'll probably choose a different location. Sorry...

A visit to the restaurant I once highly valued was disappointing. Despite a 45-minute wait, which would have been understandable, many things went wrong: The food arrived uncoordinated – the husband's dish was cold, cutlery was missing, the wrong dish was served, and the actual dish arrived late. The steak was tough, and only the side dishes were tasty. The side salad arrived much too late and was bitter. Overall, disappointing for such an expensive restaurant.

Grilled to perfection, wonderfully crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside - a dream for meat lovers. But what really makes the experience unique are the homemade sauces. From smoky-spicy to fruity-spicy – ​​each sauce is a little work of art in itself. They not only complement the steaks, they take them to a whole new level of taste. Added to this is the extremely friendly staff. Hospitality is still alive here. Attentive, warm, competent – ​​you feel welcome and well looked after.

We were there on “Schnitzel Day”. The food was very good. Unfortunately the ambience is not. The “Schnitzel Day” took place in the large hall and you had the feeling of eating in a large canteen. We were there for schnitzel evening. Service was excellent and the food was ready very quickly despite the huge rush. Tasted fantastic. The cheese sauce was amazing.

The welcome was friendly and since the restaurant was still very empty shortly after it opened, we were able to choose a nice table. As a drink we each had a lemonade with fruit. The starters, one corn soup and one bruschetta, were very good. For the main course we had a turkey steak with plums and a steak with cheese and chili. The vegetable side dish with the turkey consisted of zucchini, peppers and onions and could have been a little more varied. The beef steak was ordered medium rare and unfortunately came almost well done. The taste of the meat and sauce was okay. But what led to the devaluation was the service. We then sat in front of our empty plates for almost twenty minutes and although the food was served at the next tables, neither of the two service staff looked at us. Only after my wife went to the counter and asked for the bill did anyone come. While we waited, we could see some of the staff lounging around the counter and chatting. Unfortunately, the service wasn't worth the high price and we won't be visiting the restaurant again.

The menu is clear and garnished with numerous good, interesting dishes. The homemade lemonades are a plus. These, strangely enough, are available as 0.45-ounce glasses... Overall, I can't understand the 5 and 4-star ratings. This steakhouse doesn't come close to restaurants of this quality. If you like good, home-style food without pretensions, you'll find what you're looking for here. We have eaten at Black Bull several times. The steaks are always first class. All the other dishes are always great too. There is delicious local beer on tap and I recommend a chilled Kloster Urstoff! I'm already looking forward to the next visit.

Today we were there with the family for the first time since the change of tenant to eat a good steak. Unfortunately that was a disappointment... The service is very nice but that's it, very inexperienced and incompetent. Young girls, maybe 15 or 16 years old, who want to top up their pocket money at the weekend but have no idea about real service. We had to wait a long time for the drinks. Then taking the order... There are 2 steaks on the menu that have different names but are identical in the description. What's the difference??? The waitress couldn't explain this to us. She said they had different levels of spiciness. We weren't even asked how we wanted our steak. But since we all wanted medium, and that's actually the standard, we thought it would be fine. Unfortunately, that was also a disappointment. Everyone, EVERYONE!! Steak were blue, very bloody!! We might have survived that, but the meat was very tough, especially with the steak, which costs over 31 euros without any side dishes!!!!. We hadn't even finished eating yet; the plates and glasses were already being cleared away!!! The question about dessert came, but after the refusal, more glasses were simply cleared away. You really get the feeling that you should go. We did that too. We won't go there again, it's a shame because we're from here and always enjoyed eating there. Unfortunately, the past.
