Disorganized and outrageous. Unfortunately, we ended up having two tables booked. Despite clearly informing the owner and his colleague twice by phone that we still needed two tables for our Christmas party that evening, they were nevertheless given to other guests. When we were then told, quite literally, to "get lost," we tried to have a clarifying conversation with the owner. This request was initially ignored. After we refused to leave, the owner finally appeared and, as justification for his own actions, claimed we were behaving "antisocially" and threatened to call the police, even though, in our view, there was no justification for this. Apparently, economic interests are prioritized over customer-oriented solutions here. In the future, we will definitely be going to other establishments.

We had already ordered, but then after 30 minutes received a message that the kitchen was already closed. We still had to pay for the drinks.

We were there for the New Year's Eve menu, which was absolutely delicious and the staff very friendly. The only downside was that it was too cold (in the vaulted ceiling).

Unfortunately, an absolutely disappointing experience – and for the second time. Last year, we held our company Christmas party at Heimatgenuss Bruckmüller Bier. Our tables were double-booked, and after four hours, we were simply relegated to the aisle as if we were second-class guests. This year, we specifically arranged by phone beforehand that this should absolutely not happen again. We were assured that everything would be fine – and yet, the exact same thing happened again. We tried several times to speak to the manager, but were repeatedly brushed off. As a gesture of goodwill, we even voluntarily gave up two of our four large tables, which was then "tolerated as an exception." After only 1.5 hours, a server came and practically shouted at us in a completely inappropriate tone, demanding that she needed the tables, that we leave the premises immediately, and that we had supposedly been too loud – which is utter nonsense! An absolute outrage and incredibly disrespectful way to treat 30 paying guests, especially at a company event that was planned well in advance. This place doesn't even deserve one star! We will never visit this establishment or their beer again, nor will we recommend it to anyone. Thanks for this "wonderful" Christmas party.

A traditional Bavarian inn with a comprehensive menu offering both hearty and more refined dishes. Service was very quick and friendly. We were there on business with three people in mid-November; around 10:00 pm the crowded dining room emptied quickly and it was closing time.

Brewery Inn with Traditional Home Cooking We enjoyed a classic Sauerbraten here and were very satisfied. The dumplings and dumplings on the side were also delicious. The beer is easy to drink and goes well with the rest. The ambiance is rustic and very well-kept. A cozy atmosphere, fitting for an inn. The service was very friendly. Great hospitality! Highly recommended. We stopped by for a beer in the afternoon and reserved a table for the evening. Both the liver dumpling soup and the sauerbraten with various dumplings were truly delicious. The beers were also very good. The service was friendly and attentive, and the ambiance both inside and outside was very pleasant. The value for money is also absolutely fantastic. We give it a full 5 stars.

Four of us went to eat lunch in the dining room on a Sunday afternoon, with tables that weren't overly busy. We ordered vegetable gratin, roast pork, schnitzel, and cordon bleu. We were familiar with the vegetable gratin (€16.50) from our last visit and were very disappointed this time. It was considerably smaller, and what we understand by a gratin is something baked with cheese, resulting in a crust. This time, there was no crust; instead, the vegetables were served in a thick, white sauce in which cheese seemed to have been melted. Three potatoes, two cauliflowers, and the rest of the vegetables weren't exactly identifiable. We also remembered the quantity being larger. For the schnitzel (€15.00 + €1.00) and the cordon bleu (€17.20 + €1.00), we wanted a different side dish, which was charged at an additional €1.00. In our opinion, this is part of the service and is completely unacceptable. If you want a salad with your meal, you have to order and pay an additional €4.60. This brings the roast pork price to €19.10.

Generally, yes, with some reservations. The waiters have a special attitude toward the guests. The food was okay. The strips of mayo with the fries were too expensive for me. It should have been included in the menu price.

First of all, we got a seat in the aisle even though we were told when making the reservation that we would be sitting in the hall or beer garden. Thanks to the nice service we finally got into the hall. But then you want to order a round of schnapps...people can't do it anymore. .. Order from the boss...you have to go out to the cold bar...and get it yourself. Too bad

The food was good but portions relative to price made it a bit overpriced. Having a 50€ minimum to pay with a card in 2025 is just completely ridiculous. The restaurant needs to get with the times.

Definitely one of the top addresses in Amberg if you want to eat good home cooking. There is also an honest tavern atmosphere. The service is on point. The boss is very hurt, you can't negotiate a schnapps on the house after dinner with her. But it's also rare in other Amberg taverns

In Amberg - the locals say - there used to be 9 different breweries ( nowadays there are only 5 left? if I'm not mistaking too much) and Bruckmuller is one of those places. Situated in the central area of the Old Town - inside the old city walls - in the building of the former monastery ( hence the logo with the happy, beer drinking monk) - same building that is home to the Stadttheater too. The location is great - old stone building - and a large seating capacity in several different rooms - however if you want to be sure, just book a table in advance , it tends to get crowded. Service is very fast - like every where in Bavaria. The food , well a lot of good choices on the menu - I went for the Schaufele a typical Franconian dish - but I was happy to find it here too ... Beer selection is also great - I've tasted a few of the ( like 5 ) but there is more to be "tasted". Prices - very decent - and you can pay with card. Overall a great place I do recommend you try it when in Amberg.

Food was good, had the Bavarian schnitzel, filling was close to the salt limit, I personally like that, my companions found it a bit too much. What was too much for me is a wheat for €5 😕.

First time in a "gasthaus", rather austere decor with photos of the founders. Most of the guests drink beer, personally I had local white wine. No bread on the table, we sauce with the accompaniments. For my lover roast pork and knödel, for me, deer fillet and spätzle, I really like game and in Bavaria, it is abundant.

Yes, the gastro location, like some others in this city, reflects the historical way of life of the Upper Palatinate region very well.

We were in Amberg for 2 days over New Year's Eve and had asked in advance at the tourist office that the "Heimatgenuss" was mentioned as one of the few places that were open on New Year's Eve and had made a reservation by phone about 3 weeks in advance (a previous email request was not answered). Reacts). There was a large and small New Year's Eve menu and all in all the quality of the various courses was high and tasty. Although I am a good eater, I found the size of the large menu to be oversized and I would have found it better to leave out a course or keep the portions smaller. The service (lots of young people) was nice and efficient, but I found the distance between the individual courses to be too long, so we didn't get to the main course until after 10:00 p.m. (started at 7:30 p.m.). I would also like to highlight the beautiful and harmonious ambience of the restaurant, you felt very comfortable from the first second.

Ten of us as a family on Boxing Day. First shift (from 11:15), the staff was a little relaxed. The drinks are top notch, brewery :-) Lemonade, cola, spritzer, beer - all good. The food: The dishes were at the right intervals, the soups and side salads were really good. In particular the salads were much better than last time. They were really fun, from the cucumber to the steamed carrot, the cabbage to the mixed green salad with radicchio. Vegetarian and omnivorous main courses came afterwards. I tried cordon bleu (excellent!!), pepper steak and pork fillet Försterin with spaetzle. Everything was very well seasoned and the degree of doneness of the steak was exactly right. The cordon bleu was very buttery and crispy. Lots of flavor. The pork fillet forester with fresh mushrooms: a dream. Really good food. Due to the shift work, there was no time left for dessert, not even coffee, despite the attentive service. I understand that the restaurant should be at maximum capacity to make a profit. And the timing 11:15/13:00 also makes sense. Nevertheless, it's just tight for three courses. Two goes well, three will be tight. I will come again!

Very nice Upper Palatinate inn. The service was very friendly and attentive. The food was also good and we were pleasantly surprised by the large selection of cakes.

We were there at Christmas and ate one of the vegan dishes and were very impressed. The beet ragout with spinach dumplings is super good, spicy and a good portion. The service was totally friendly. The only thing I would like to improve would be that the splash of yoghurt dressing on the side salad is either left out or mentioned in the menu, as this means it is no longer vegan and that is not obvious beforehand.

I felt very comfortable in the location every time! The innkeeper couple runs the inn with tireless passion. Enjoyment and comfort are very important here! The red wine cake or the homemade chocolates are particularly delicious!

Great food, everything was very tasty and freshly prepared. Service was friendly, but seemed very uncoordinated, the food all came at different times, everyone ate alone almost the entire time, all the dining rooms were fully occupied, so I don't see it as such a tragedy. We'll definitely be back.

Busy restaurant, cozy, delicious food, decent portions at a reasonable price

Local enjoyment of the Erras family, formerly the long-term tenants of the well-known mountain farm on Mariahilfberg. Now in the old town of Amberg. People like to drive 100 km here. We were thrilled. Had goose, venison, beef fillet and various roasts, all excellent, big praise to the chef. The service was quick and friendly. However, you should make a reservation on the weekend as it is always fully booked. It is best to park in the parking garage, as parking spaces are limited in the city center. Definitely a clear recommendation from us👍

It is a restaurant with several rooms which makes the service a little slow, but the quality of the food is very good, authentic Bavarian food.

Unfortunately the price-performance ratio was a flop, the liver dumpling soup had more bread rolls than liver, carp fillet you had to order the side salad separately, cake, well 🫤 unfortunately the guests are not treated EQUALLY when it comes to celebrating and bringing cakes with them. The service was ok but the older lady was quite stressful.

Everything was great, gladly again.

The cheese spaetzle wasn't good. There are many variations but in cream sauce and I don't like it slightly sweet. The huge mountain of fried onions was great. Everyone else at our table was very happy. Price performance definitely fits. Service is friendly.

Four of us had dinner last night and managed to get a table without a reservation. If you want to be on the safe side, you should make a reservation because the restaurant is very busy, which is no wonder given the delicious dishes. 😋 Although the restaurant was almost full, we got our food without a long wait. All four of us were thrilled with our main courses (game dishes, cheese spaetzle and schnitzel) and desserts (cream puffs and crepes). A pleasant atmosphere, as well as friendly and quick service rounded off the evening perfectly 🙂

It is a restaurant with good home cooking. The atmosphere in the old courtyard is very cozy, with fairy lights in the evenings. Lavish portions are served here and the taste is superbly balanced. In our case it was almost unsalted fried potatoes with just as little seasoning and perfectly fried steak. Plus some spicier peppers and salty herb butter. It was delicious! Price-performance is top and service is at a good level.

The service was totally chaotic, called us first name (that's not possible), put drinks and a tray on the table and simply went to the other guests while serving. After 5 minutes we took the drinks ourselves from the tray. Dishes too expensive and without a side salad E.g. chanterelle soup €8.50. The portions are not very large with the loins for €19 there were only 3 small loins on the plate. The portion of fries was ok but without a side salad it costs €4.50 and side vegetables €5.50 I was still hungry afterwards. The height of disappointment was that €1 was charged for a CHANGE IN THE SUPPLEMENT without us being informed of it beforehand - we asked the waitress (older lady) beforehand whether a change in the supplement was possible, she just said yes of course but no word or reference to the additional costs. This subsequently made us even more upset. It's a shame because there are better restaurants with reasonable portions and nicer beer gardens in Amberg and the surrounding area where the price-performance ratio is right. And the service is better!

Great home cooking and decent portions and absolutely delicious and recommended. Also a bit of tips for exploring. Rarely have I eaten such great spaetzle and the schnitzel filled with obadzda was a dream. We'll definitely come back when we're in Amberg again or maybe just because of that...

We were 12 people with different plates. Everyone was absolutely thrilled. It came quickly and no one had to wait too long. Nice presentation and good portions too. Price performance top!! The only drawback is that the grill plate would need one more meat, but perhaps fewer fries. We'll definitely be back!! Thank you!!

We were there for dinner with 12 people, everyone had a different dish. All the dishes looked very inviting and were very tasty. The food came to our table almost at the same time and the waitresses were all very friendly. The beer garden is cozy. Price performance is simply great! We'll be back.

We were in the beer garden and had a delicious meal. Good Bavarian cuisine, very tasty!!! The service is very nice, quick and courteous. The food came quickly. Afterwards we had a nice time in the very cozy beer garden. Very cozy. Overall, a very classy inn. The dining room has Bavarian charm, the winter garden is bright and friendly and can be opened onto the beer garden. I'm thrilled. Happy to come again.

Nice shady beer garden and nice staff

Although I live 350 km away from Bruckmüller, I will come here again. The people are so nice, it was one of the most beautiful evenings during my 3 day stay in Amberg. The food (Schäufele with dumplings) was excellent and the house beer was a delight - which is why I took two six-packs with me to the Taunus. If you are in Amberg, reserve a table and see/taste for yourself.
