Very rustic with a wooden cabin charm. Highly recommended.

We went to the Haxenhaus with the club and some people from other districts. We consider it a huge success for us, and the venue was the perfect choice. We will definitely do it again. Thanks again to the whole team.

Simply delicious food, ideally served outside in the summer. If it's crowded, okay—you'll need a bit of patience. But this is more than compensated for by the plentiful food. After a boat trip, it's almost fitting to stop here.

Disappointing – Service Absolutely Not Solution-Oriented Unfortunately, my visit to Hax'nhaus Tegernseer Tönnchen was a huge disappointment, especially because of the service. The staff were completely uninterested in being solution-oriented. When we arrived, all the tables inside were occupied. Instead of offering us an alternative, informing us about the wait time, or perhaps freeing up an outdoor table for us, our request was met with disinterest and a dismissive attitude. No attempt was made to help us find a solution. You didn't feel welcome as a guest if a perfect seat wasn't immediately available. A good restaurant is characterized not only by the food, but also by dedicated service that tries to find a solution for the guest, even in stressful situations or when the house is full. Unfortunately, that was not the case here. Due to this very poor service experience, I unfortunately cannot recommend this restaurant.

The food was delicious, the prices were reasonable, the service was quick and friendly, and the atmosphere was rustic and cozy. It was my first time here with my boyfriend, but it won't be my last! Excellent German cuisine! A word of advice for the chef: the fried potatoes could have a bit more color (they still tasted good) and the sauerkraut could stay warm a bit longer! Reservations are recommended for the evening, starting at 6 p.m.

Unfortunately we had a bad experience with the wait staff. We were taking our friends out who have severe allergies and we wanted to make it a special event. The menu is very loose about their ingredients and we had picked something specific to avoid allergens. When they brought the dish and it wasn’t matching the description or ingredients. When we kindly notified them about their mistake, they gave us attitude. Food arrived not at the same time with about 10 minutes in between which made for very awkward moments. Additionally they overcharged us for items from another table. For that money we‘d expect a better treatment. Not coming back here, neither are our friends. Stay away if you care about the ingredients, they definitely don’t care.

We, four people, went there for dinner last week with our 98-year-old mother. We've eaten there several times before and have always been satisfied. The food, ambience, and service were always good. But this time we were appalled. As our mother can only eat very small portions due to her advanced age, and there was nothing suitable among the senior citizen dishes, we ordered a children's dish for her: four Nuremberg sausages with mashed potatoes and gravy for €7.90. The waiter immediately pointed out to us that in this case there would be a surcharge of €3!! We think this is outrageous. Perhaps management will think about this, especially as there are numerous senior citizen facilities in the immediate vicinity of the restaurant. A little more consideration for the needs of older people would be welcome. We are considering visiting the Tegernseer again.

After a boat trip with the family, we treated ourselves to a treat here. The food we all ordered was Bavarian style and we enjoyed it immensely. The weather was so beautiful, so we ate outside. We also had a look inside, which looked very cozy.

Terribly bad!!! Waited 90 minutes for the food, schnitzel unseasoned, bland, and sloppy, fried potatoes greasy, burnt, and unseasoned, knuckle burnt, sauerkraut old, gray, and unappetizing, potato dumplings lukewarm and raw inside! The fourth meal was completely different from what we ordered, and on top of that, the vegetable side dish was completely overcooked, Romanesco was gray! And so on. The only bright spot was the nice waitress, who was visibly shocked by the kitchen's performance. A definite no, and never again.

Everything was excellent. The portions were large, although not exactly inexpensive. The food tasted and was of good quality. The service was friendly and helpful.

My wife and I used to eat there regularly. One of our favorite restaurants. We haven't eaten there for a while now. As far as I know, was there a change? Be that as it may. The food was always 5 stars. Now, unfortunately, I have to downgrade to 1 star. The food was soggy, the sauce (ordered separately) was thick, and the taste was absolutely disgusting. We are very disappointed and will not eat there again, which is a shame. Many of our family and friends have had similar experiences, but we wanted to see for ourselves. The service was excellent.

I'd like to share my experience with this restaurant and not want it to be taken as a review, because reviews always have a negative connotation. I had roast pork and put down my knife and fork and carried on eating with a spoon. Please note this as a positive experience; the consistency was perfect. It was just right. The restaurant was full both inside and out; everyone had fun working there, and the food was great, especially in the glorious weather. Huge respect for everyone involved. Conclusion: Come and indulge yourself. Unfortunately, no photos because everything was eaten up.

We were completely satisfied. Big praise for the service, which was quick and friendly, and they handled all the tables on their own. The food was fresh and delicious. And we didn't have to wait long either. Great!

Roast pork and cheese spaetzle highly recommended

I've been there twice. The first time, I ordered soup. They were absolutely terrible...the service was incredibly irritating and unfriendly! The second time, we were there at 7:45 p.m. and sat down outside. Both the bartender and the waitress saw the soup. No one bothered to bring us the menu, let alone serve us. Never again...the nerve.

Very good rustic restaurant with home-style cooking. Ambience: Rustic mountain hut with stoneware and wood. Restrooms a bit dated with cracked silicone seals. Service: Fast and reliable. No unnecessary interruptions and friendly and courteous. Food: Very extensive selection of meat and fish dishes, as well as salad. The portions were good to very good, except for the fried herring. Drinks: Good selection. Unfortunately, only three-quarters of draft beer were available. A bit limited for a restaurant of this size. Conclusion: Recommended!

A very cozy restaurant with delicious food. When you step inside, you feel like you're in Bavaria or Austria. The service is fast and polite. I would definitely go back. Review update... we were there again today after the new owner took over. An hour's drive, I was really looking forward to the food, and now... Prices have gone up, but the ambiance is great, since nothing has changed. One-third of the knuckle of pork was wobbly, the rest was good. The red cabbage from the roast pork was, somehow, thickened and tasted inedibly slimy. The sauce and sauerkraut were good. Therefore, I wouldn't go there again. It's a shame.

Super delicious food. The liver dumplings were absolutely divine. My discovery of the day was the light beer. It's drinkable, has more of a beer flavor than a shandy, and doesn't go to your head as quickly in this heat. Four of us went to Haxnhaus, and everyone was very happy with what they ordered. This was our second time here, and it won't be our last.

Nürnberger Würstchen food are hot very tasty and perfect portion. We have family dinner here the service was super good.

We are Berliners, Schmargendorf and regular guests at the 🍖Tegernseer Tönnchen, Wilmersdorf. Now the landlord has taken over a traditional house, 🍖HAXENHAUS in Tegel. We have been to the HAXENHAUS several times and cannot understand the negative reviews. You have to give the host, the kitchen and the service staff the opportunity to get used to things, as in any profession or job. The service staff is friendly, responds to special requests and serves the very tasty dishes and freshly tapped beers quickly. Even with a full outside and inside area, the “girls” keep an overview and remain friendly, despite the steps. Also suitable for family celebrations. We thank everyone HAXENHAUS TEAM and will be back.....⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Great Restaurant for big groups. Outside seating. Food (Hax'n) was fantastic. The Staff was very friendly and funny even through the very big workload as the Restaurant was full of customers! Thanks again to the great Staff For the Management: 2 Staff are not enough for a fully loaded Restaurant.

Would never go back. The lamb shank with roast pork sauce was a no-go, and the sausage salad was so sour it was inedible. And two of the three conditions weren't very work-friendly either.

Two of us went there for dinner today. We ordered two drinks and two main courses. The food was quite delicious (grilled platter and Nuremberg sausages), and the ambiance was quite rustic, traditional German. Only the service was mediocre (the waitress was a bit distracted).

We stopped here spontaneously for lunch. Since it was still early, we could easily sit outside (all tables inside were free except for one). We had goulash soup and a "small portion" of roast pork with red cabbage and two dumplings (instead of the advertised one). The goulash soup, served with brown bread, was very well seasoned, and the meat was super tender. The roast was very tasty, yet quite a large portion. Accompanied by a cold beer, it was a fabulous lunch with friendly service.

Everything was always top-notch under the old owner. The new one is doing very well, too. The staff is friendly and the food is delicious. The ambiance loses one star because the pictures on the wall look dirty and have some damage. Otherwise, it's a really well-run restaurant where I enjoy taking family and guests from time to time.

The positives first Let's start with the definitely successful aspect: The beer was really good. There's absolutely nothing to complain about here, a treat for any beer lover. The food: Mixed feelings Unfortunately, the food couldn't quite keep up with the quality of the beer. The grilled meat was a disappointment; some of the meat was very tough, which significantly spoiled the experience. The chicken was particularly disappointing, with a texture more reminiscent of pressed meat – I would have preferred a much higher quality here. My companion's fried potatoes were also unfortunately mushy. One bright spot, however, was the pork knuckle: it was well prepared and flavorful. To finish, we actually wanted to order Kaiserschmarrn, but unfortunately, it was sold out. That's annoying, of course, especially if you were looking forward to a particular dessert.

We had reserved a table for two at 4 p.m. (so it wasn't a crowd event). After we were seated, we received our first two drinks after about 20 minutes. Then we had to ask for the menu after another 15 minutes to finally order something to eat. After another 10 minutes, it was taken, but after over an hour, we still can't. In the meantime, we were thirsty and ordered more drinks. Unfortunately, they didn't arrive until dinner, including the food. The waitress asked 2-3 times if our drinks were ready... We always answered no. Nothing happened... We wanted to treat ourselves to a nice meal in the restaurant... But then we left after about 1 hour and 20 minutes. We paid for the two drinks and had a delicious meal at the Italian restaurant, which also had the desire and time for customers.

After a last unsuccessful attempt to get noticed and place an order within 15 minutes, I tried again today. Ordered Schneider Hefeweisse (with alcohol) and received a non-alcoholic wheat beer. Despite pointing out that the Schneider Weisse was significantly darker in color and had a distinct difference in taste, the service insisted they had delivered the correct beer. Customer service or idiot?

The star is only for the ambiance, which was so beautifully inherited from the previous restaurant. We reserved a table, checked in, and then nothing happened at first. Then the menu came and we ordered drinks. Then nothing else happened. At some point, after the first 25 minutes, the drinks arrived and the food was ordered. Then nothing came for an hour. Even the drinks we ordered while waiting didn't arrive. All in all, 1.5 hours for a beer and a draft beer. Great Father's Day meal, thank you 🤦🏼‍♂️👍🏻

The food itself was good. Only the Königsberger Klopse (meatballs) were really too salty. The red cabbage tasted good until you bit into one of the numerous little balls (allspice?). Then it's no longer enjoyable. I don't think a whole cinnamon stick and about 10 allspice balls should end up on a guest's plate. So, as compensation, the kids got ice cream. The service was excellent.

The three of us had dinner at Hax'nhaus last night, we had made a reservation by phone and got a wonderful seat opposite the counter. We had schnitzel with asparagus and roast pork. The schnitzel is super tender and delicious with a crispy breading, the asparagus is really a poem. The roast pork was also nice and tender and tasty with lots of sauce, the dumplings were good, the red cabbage was fantastic. The rustic, cozy atmosphere invites you to linger for a long time with a very good Tegernsee barley juice with very nice background music from the 80s/90s. The service is consistently very friendly and attentive - you can tell that there is a good working atmosphere there. In short, a very successful evening and for us the best restaurant in Berlin with German cuisine!

I've been coming here for a long time. Even when the old workforce was still there. Well the food is delicious and I was actually mostly satisfied. The food was good today too. I just didn't know that I was told where to sit. I've never experienced it here before. I like to choose where I sit. Especially since it wasn't full. Sat right next to the counter. Where you could hear the gossip. I personally found the waitress (brown hair with glasses) very unpleasant! By the way, my companion too. Too bad. Hopefully it will work better next time. As I said, they were otherwise actually satisfied.

We held our class reunion (after 48 years) there. The service was super nice and quick. The food was super tasty 😋 and reasonably priced. The Hax'nhaus is very cozy and always worth a visit. We'll be back

The confirmed online reservation was ignored. If the restaurant cannot cope with this then it should not offer online reservations. Guests were moved to make room for our group. Unpleasant. The boss was so drunk that other guests felt harassed, left and called the police. Extremely loud music. Unpleasant. The staff tried very hard but friendly is different. Eating took a very long time, 1 hour, even though it wasn't full. Food was average good. It was worth a try but we won't be back. It's a shame about the beautiful inn.

We were at the Haxenhaus on May 1st at 5:45 p.m. Music was so loud (concert volume) that you couldn't hold a conversation. After asking to turn down the music, the boss came over to us completely drunk, even fell over while running and touched our grandchild. After asking us not to do this, he started shouting at us, even insulted us and expelled us from the restaurant. Not even 1 star. I have never experienced a boss who appears completely drunk in front of his guests. Impossible behavior. Never recommended again in any way.

Went back for the first time after the reopening and were very satisfied. Delicious food, great beer and very friendly service. We'll be back.

We were looking forward to visiting the Haxnhaus after it reopened... unfortunately we were disappointed. We were 6 men with a hearty hunger... ordered 5 grill plates... after 10 minutes the waitress came and said that unfortunately one plate couldn't have a certain meat, we accepted... after 30 minutes the plates came but not the one on the plate as it says in the menu (and it reads very well) The food was too salty for all 5... told the waitress that and all I got was "THEN THE COOK IS PROBABLY IN LOVE... WITH ME HIHIHI"... OK thanks, that's it... we know the Haxnhaus from the old days, unfortunately the new team can't keep up... sorry first and last time

We were curious to see what has happened in the Haxnhaus since Mirko is no longer the tenant. First impressions were good, we got a seat and the drinks came relatively quickly. However, with the drinks we also ordered our 4 meals. And it took almost exactly 1 hour until they were served to us. That is the first point of criticism. The next thing we noticed was that the pork medallions were extremely small and thin, a maximum of 1cm thick. The röstis weren't enough to fill you up either, even though we ordered from the regular menu and not from the "menu for small appetites". In addition, one of the meals we ordered was completely forgotten, which is why the fourth person had to wait another quarter of an hour. In the end, I and two of my companions left the restaurant hungry, which didn't leave a good impression. The quality of the food was ok. But the new tenant obviously saves on the use of goods and also on staff, who had a lot to do. That's why there are 2 stars for this visit.

Rustic and totally delicious pork knuckles...

We spontaneously went to the Haxnhaus in Alt Tegel on a Saturday afternoon, first three and then five plus a small child (and stroller). We didn't have a reservation and were still given a very friendly welcome. Parking the stroller was no problem. The staff was super friendly and attentive. The food was also excellent, I had the pork medallions, very tasty! They also have asparagus dishes that aren't on the normal menu - they also looked really tasty, of course I took photos ;-) The knuckle should be the standard dish here based on the name and that was also something special - great portion and the meat almost fell off the bone, it was so tender. I got some crust off, mmmm delicious! Especially in the evening it might be difficult here without a reservation, especially if it's too cold for the terrace, like it is currently. But in any case, just try it, you will be helped in a friendly manner. We'll be happy to come back and next time we'll leave room for a Kaiserschmarrn!

The restaurant is very clean, even the toilets. I often used to serve at the restaurant and I have to say that the food tastes much better, the knuckle is not too salty, the meat is nice and tender. Unfortunately there were also a few deficiencies. We had to wait 35-40 minutes for our food, but for quality you need time, which made me excited. The waitress told us all the time that the food was coming, it was here right now and we still had to wait 20 minutes for it and the other bad point was that we paid for it at the night bar table and the waitress came to the table with schnapps, she said "I don't know if you drink this, but here for you" 3 schnapps were gone tilted Can still recommend it

Very nice ladies, nice atmosphere. Unfortunately there is no real feel-good factor for us in the restaurant. There was no music and as it became emptier, you had the feeling that you had to speak more quietly so as not to drown out other guests. Fries were very tasty, salad was also good, but we didn't like the currywurst. Small, just cut at the corners, fresh onions. Eating with my eyes closed, I would have thought I was in the Netherlands and eating a Frikandel special. The mix grill plate was probably tasty, but the bacon was burnt and the mushroom cream sauce tasted like ready-made sauce.

We ate there for the second time yesterday. The food is simply fantastic, the price-performance ratio is absolutely top. The ambience is wonderfully rustic and cozy and the service is simply top class! Warm, friendly, open to contact and very attentive. We would come back at any time and can recommend the Hax'n House without reservation. If you love good, sumptuous, delicious food and like Bavarian cuisine, this is absolutely the right place for you. Keep it up 👍🏻

Basically a really great store, but the service was just unpleasant. Then I'd rather go back to the Tegernseer Tönnchen in Wilmersdorf, everything there is always TOP.

After about 20km of hiking, the right choice. Delicious beer and 2 blood sausages. Gladly again.

The first time to eat pork knuckle at the “new” management with a voucher from Groupon. All 4 of us were thrilled by the great food! Great crust, delicious dumplings, great sauerkraut... it couldn't be better! Management and waitress were super nice, swapping dumplings for potatoes was no problem. No extra sauce for everyone... at no extra charge. It wasn't the last time we were there. The only negative point is the 2 high steps at the entrance, where there is no handrail.

We came with 7t + toddler and were warmly welcomed and given an extra room to share. The service was super fast and very nice, even after we had ordered another 2 Kaiserschmarren. She took it with humor. A clear recommendation for anyone who wants to try delicious German cuisine.

Craziness. I have never eaten such a knuckle with such a crispy crust. Not even in Bavaria, Austria or South Tyrol. And the meat so tender. Super nice service, with Berlin charm. Together with the ambience everything is very authentic. We'll be back!!!

The food was quite tasty, but unfortunately caraway was not spared; both sauerkraut, knuckle and fried potatoes were seasoned with it. Changing the supplement costs €2.

Unfortunately for me it wasn't as good as before, with the old owner. The meat was very dry. Potato dumplings from the bag, with my partner. My cheese spaetzle was cheese soup, a shame. No longer our restaurant.:( :(

Was there at Christmas and there was only a very limited selection of food, some of which contained too much salt. In addition, after two hours you were asked to pay because the tables were needed. I didn't find this very nice. There were no vegan dishes. I can't say what it's like outside of Christmas. Outside of Christmas, the menu probably stayed the same as my son was there with someone and sent me photos. Therefore the menu could be improved at Christmas.
