Haveli in Forchheim

The Indian restaurant Haveli is beautifully and comfortably furnished. Hospitality is very important here, everyone is very nice. It took a little longer than usual from ordering to serving, but that wasn't a problem. So you could talk in peace and not have any stress. We chose the main course medium hot, I have to say it was enough, it was just about acceptable if you generally don't want to eat spicy food. The taste was good, there's nothing to complain about. The portions should be larger, at least when it comes to meat. On request you can get more rice, free of charge, great. The two of us had flatbread as a side dish, which also tasted good. We paid just under €41 for two main courses, a side dish and two drinks. If the portions were a little more, that would be absolutely fine. If you are very hungry you can't avoid an appetizer. On the other hand, we left the restaurant fit without being overeaten. Conclusion: Something different in taste, ambience and background music good. You should definitely try it out.

We order from Haveli regularly and the quality is consistently excellent. Depending on the workload, deliveries are super fast and all the employees we came into contact with were extremely friendly. We can only recommend Haveli!

The food was of medium quality and came with some kind of tomato sauce. Hardly any of the spices that we expect from an Indian restaurant came through. I had a shrimp dish. These were tiny and didn't have great flavor. My friend had a dish with chicken, which didn't really convince her either. My dish cost €20. Add a small bowl and rice to it. We tested the restaurant as part of the Schlemmerblock and were rather disappointed. The interior is careless, outdated and sometimes a bit dusty. It seemed to us as if a former German restaurant had been given a pseudo-Indian look. The service wasn't particularly accommodating either. We ended up waiting probably 15 minutes while the owner ate and didn't serve us. In the end we got up and paid directly at the counter. We won't come back as there are much better Indian restaurants in Forchheim. The Little India or Bombay House restaurants offer better taste, friendly service and much more effort has been put into the decoration. Maybe the owner should reconsider this in order to remain competitive in the future.

Beim Hereinkommen empfing einen leider ein Duft nach Toilettenreiniger, was eher nicht so angenehm war1 Verblüffung kam bei uns auf als wir erfuhren, daß man Wein (angeblich jeweils nur aus einer kleinen Flasche 0,2L) nur in jeweils dieser Menge bekommen könne!? Es gäbe keine große Flasche, was schon eher sehr merkwürdig ist!? Wir sahen nie auch nur eine dieser ominösen 0,2 L Flaschen, zudem schmeckte sowohl der "Lugana", wie auch der "indische Wein" sehr lasch, schade! Der Chef im Service ist ausgesprochen nett und flott, aber beim Essen schmeckten die Pakoras doch sehr europäisiert und waren eine Mischung aus Chicken McNuggets und paniertem ..., aber nicht wirklich besonders! Auch die Hauptgerichte wußten nicht wirklich zu überzeugen, waren aber nicht schlecht, so daß wir dieses Lokal eher: Nicht empfehlen können.

The food was delivered on time and was very tasty. Unfortunately there was very little content in the various dishes. Lots of sauce but little meat and/or vegetables. The amount of rice was ok.

I've been going here for years. The food is also very good. Unfortunately it is becoming more and more expensive and the portions are getting smaller and smaller. Had tandoori chicken yesterday. No more bread on the iron plate, instead just a cabbage leaf, 3 pieces of meat for 20€. Very unfortunate.

The colors of the food were bright, the paneer tasted good, the colorful rice was okay, the dips for the samosa were watery and we didn't like it. A plastic flower is on the table. There is also a kind of electric tea light on the table. But it couldn't be turned on, the batteries were empty, as was the light on the next table. Operating with three button cells is also not very ecological. The staff are friendly. I found the music to be restless. I also felt a bit cold despite wearing warm clothing, so I would have preferred a higher room temperature.

Four of us were there with Schlemmerbook. Maybe that's why the food was so minimal. 4 measly little pieces of meat with lots of sauce and a bit of rice. Not enough even for those who eat less. The service was good.

Really delicious Indian food. We've been there several times. Very nice and courteous staff. If you are asked about the spiciness of the food - medium hot is normal for someone who likes it spicy. You can eat really spicy Indian food, but you don't taste much of the dish, which is actually a shame (only for die-hards).

Food is always great and that's why I'm happy to pay the price for it. What's a bit annoying is that the online ordering process works well, but the last few times the order wasn't ready because the order supposedly didn't arrive at the restaurant and you had to wait because it still had to be prepared then.

There were two of us in the beer garden, which is quiet and pleasant on a side street. Very good freshly prepared Indian dishes. For most dishes you can choose the level of spiciness. Mild, spicy/piquant or spicy. Hot can also be ordered as European hot or Indian hot. We like spicy food and chose Indian spicy. It was really really spicy and very, very tasty. We will come back, it will probably be European spicy, I think that's enough for us. Haveli is without question highly recommended.

My family and I ate at Haveli for the first time yesterday. Compared to other Indian restaurants, the food is extremely fresh, the staff are friendly and the atmosphere is appropriate. We would love to come back and our children love this restaurant too. The boss comes to you and takes great care of the customers' wishes. The range of dishes is varied and there is something for everyone, our little man got a little treat for free from the boss. ❤️ We would love to come back.

The food is very tasty. However, I think the portions are too small. The "large salad" with the "huge shrimps" is, for example, a small cake plate with 5 normal shrimps. But the taste is great.

Overall a good restaurant. There was nothing wrong with the taste. Just the furnishings etc. could be a little better. Chairs outside were definitely not as nice and not as comfortable

Food was okay, but unfortunately nothing more. All of the curries lacked a bit of flavor, but that may have been because we all ordered mild. 4 pieces of chicken per curry (approx. 80g in total) is also manageable. Very friendly and courteous service.

We were here with a voucher booklet. Service very friendly. Beer garden right on the street, but it wasn't a problem. The food was very good, but it could have been spicier. But we were asked how spicy we wanted it. Overall, highly recommended

Really good Indian cuisine. We've been there several times now and have never been disappointed. Both the vegetarian and meat dishes are wonderful. I think it's particularly great that you can choose the level of spiciness for each dish from European mild to hot and also Indian hot - great! When the weather is nice you can also sit outside in the beer garden. You can order here from Lieferando - but the restaurant also offers the option of ordering directly from their own homepage - probably the best option to keep the fees low. The pictures were taken from a tandoori dish in the beer garden. This specialty comes to the table sizzling and steaming, very tasty 😀

On several visits, the food was always very good and the service was very nice. However, the proportion of meat in the dishes is manageable, although you can order rice, which is also necessary to fill you up. Generally high prices, especially the drinks prices.

It felt like everyone brought us here to the gourmet block that evening. However, you don't really save anything in comparison because the prices are relatively expensive. A beer (as of April 2024) costs 4.50 euros and the portions (chicken curry) weren't particularly large considering the prices were over 15 euros. The meal may be enough for some, but the 100g of chicken and some sauce reminded me more of a starter.

The food is tasty, but the portions are far too small. The contents in the pans were served with few ingredients. Lots of sauce and little meat and side dishes. Unfortunately my guests weren't fed up. When I asked the operator, I was told that the portions would be kept smaller due to Corona and a lack of staff. Well, unfortunately you can't please everyone, but I really can't recommend it.

The food was delicious and the service was simply perfect. The price-performance ratio is also worth highlighting. One point deducted for the ambience, as it was a bit cold in the dining room. The choice of whether spicy or mild makes it perfect for guests who don't eat too spicy. Absolutely recommended, I will definitely come back!

Very bad service. Relatively small portions and the taste is below mediocre. Not an experience and wouldn't go there again.

The service was attentive and mostly friendly, but seemed overwhelmed. Unfortunately the soup as a starter was not at all as described on the menu. Unfortunately, some ingredients mentioned on the menu are not included. Unfortunately, the food is not recommended, thin, almost tasteless sauces, and the quality of the meat is unfortunately not very high. Unfortunately, cashew nuts that are included in the dish should not be present either. The crowning achievement was a spoiled duck in orange sauce... My friend's stomach was upset by it...! The ambience is a somewhat harmonious mix of oriental, Greek, Asian and Indian influences. It's a shame because we were really looking forward to the restaurant... Maybe we had a bad day?? On Sun 4/21/24. But don't want to repeat the visit.

So for an Indian I'm very disappointed. Yesterday was my first and last time there. We were 5 people. 1. Ambience a mix between China and India. 2. Service the waitress mostly only spoke English or understood our German very, very poorly. 3.1x soup the water broth thickened with undeviniervares which was spicy. But it didn't taste like coconut 5 main courses were all very bland. And hardly tasted of spices. The crispy duck was definitely frozen and it took too long to taste it. And the price-performance ratio was also rather high. We were only there once and never again.

Via delivery service: the food came 15 minutes ahead of time and was warm. We had three starters, salad, breads and four dishes. Plus mango lassi. Unfortunately, we were quite disappointed across the board. The tomato soup hardly tasted of anything and was very watery, the two mild dishes were not only bland but also bland (both meatless), the meat of the tandoori chicken was spongy. According to the statement, the lentil dish was OK. The salad that came with it was very sour, and the breading on the onion rings and prawns was papery and tasteless. Even the breads were just mediocre. The mango lassi tasted mainly sweet and not much like mango. There isn't even anything positive to say about the two sauces for the bread. Only the rice was light and tasty. The price-performance ratio here is not right at all - we paid over €90 for what was described above, and none of the dishes came close to being eaten. What a shame!

We came across the Haveli Restaurant through the Schlemmerbuch. Staff was very friendly and the food was delicious. The portions could be a little larger.

There were five of us eating. 3 dishes were not recommended, either too bland or not as described, e.g. the butter chicken tasted strongly of cheese, the orange chicken tasted more like orange than chicken and spices, the chicken korma was just too bland for an Indian dish. 2 meals were ok, but not outstanding. The desserts were mediocre and not in proportion to the price (popsicles for €5.90). We asked for good Google reviews several times. All in all, the price-performance ratio is not right here. We cannot recommend it.

Naan bread with garlic is very tasty.. The only drawback is not enough parking spaces as it is very busy.

Had a huge disappointment today on Valentine's Day. Waited 1 hour and 10 minutes for a poorly prepared starter. People thought there would be something special on Valentine's Day. (Table decorations, flowers, etc.) Instead, you felt like you were in a fast food restaurant with a delivery service, which received more attention than the guests there. Overall, the ambience and service have deteriorated considerably. If you want to visit an authentic restaurant, you won't find it here. The food tasted good, but unfortunately the rest was a flop. Unfortunately this will be our last visit.

Durch den Schlemmerblock auf dieses indische Restaurant aufmerksam geworden. Freundlicher und zuvorkommender Service. Das Essen ist sehr lecker und wird in Schalen auf Teelichtern zum Warmhalten serviert. Die Gewürze sind sehr gut abgestimmt und die Schärfe kann selbst gewählt werden. Wir haben schon so einige indischer Restaurants ausprobiert in Nürnberg, Erlangen und Umgebung aber das Haveli ist mit Abstand das beste! Wir bestellen hier ziemlich oft und ja es kann sein das man mal etwas länger warten muss, jedoch ist die Qualität des Essen es wert!!! Wir können es nur empfehlen!!!!

Suppe war geschmacklos, Curry auch eher durchschnittlich. Kann nicht weiterempfohlen werden.

Wir waren wegen des umfangreichen vegetarischen Speisenangebotes auf diesen Inder gestoßen und wurden nicht enttäuscht. Die Schärfe der Gerichte hatte genau das gewünschte Niveau. Auch der Gutschein des Schlemmerblockes wurde problemlos akzeptiert.

Wir waren mit den mobilen Gutschein dort. Der Biergarten ist freundlich und Parkplätze gibt es direkt vor der Haustür. Das Essen kam sehr schnell und es war sehr lecker. Bedienung war sehr freundlich.

Waren auf der Durchreise und haben den 'Inder' im Internet entdeckt - sehr gute Entdeckung. Waren am frühen Abend zwar die einzigen Gäste, wurden aber sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend bedient. Essen war super lecker, können wir nur weiter empfehlen.

Wir waren Sonntag Nachmittag dort essen. Dieses Restaurant haben wir im Schlemmerblock gesehen und obwohl es nicht ganz unsere Ecke ist, sind wir dort hingefahren und wurden nicht enttäuscht. Vorspeisen sowie Hauptgerichte waren sehr lecker Große Getränkeauswahl Kleiner gemütlicher Biergarten ist vorhanden sowie Parkplätze. Weiterer Pluspunkt, Sonntag hat es durchgehend geöffnet

Essen war geschmacklich gut Aber man musste das Fleisch suchen und für ca 16€ pro Portion ist es einfach viel zu teuer. Man muss alles extra bestellen, kein kleiner Beilagensalat dazu. Ist alles bisschen trostlos serviert.
