It was okay! I'd visit again sometime!

The food was delicious. Prices were reasonable. Communication was a bit difficult.

We've eaten there many times. The food was, as always, very good. Unfortunately, the service was an absolute disaster. The young man stood indifferently at the counter, conspicuously chewing gum and completely ignoring us. The woman was constantly fiddling with her phone. We waited a very long time for our two drinks, which were then empty before the meal even arrived. We weren't asked again until five minutes before we were due to leave, and she didn't come back to check on us. The new manager was very nice and responded very positively to our feedback. Despite the less-than-ideal service, we'll be back.

The food was super delicious. The staff was friendly and very attentive. Our child dropped her knife, and without saying a word, she was given a new one right away. We highly recommend Happy Rancho. :)

The food today was perfect... very, very tasty and plentiful... a huge compliment to the kitchen... but really only to the kitchen... Now for the service... It was very poor. Upon entering, we only received a brief hello, and we were shown to our table with a wave of a hand. Our drink and food orders were taken very reluctantly, and the very unenthusiastic young man was barely understandable. He stood at his cash register and didn't even come to our table... so something went wrong with the drinks and the food... but this was corrected very quickly... There was no question of how the food was or if everything was OK. We remember it differently and were truly very disappointed with the service today...

A small table for two was set aside in the corner in front of the fireplace with a white tablecloth, and Mr & Mrs on the top of the mantel. Like back in school when you've messed up. And that's exactly how it went. The food was brought first, then the drinks. Everything took a really long time, the drinks were all mixed up, the bride wasn't even recognized at one point, the pepper was out of date, the fried egg that was supposed to go on the meat was brought separately after repeated requests, sauces were brought out after repeated requests, there was a hair in the food and a fly in the saucepan. No apology whatsoever afterwards. Simply disrespectful to the bride and groom. If I could, I'd post more pictures here. Unfortunately, that's not possible. Happy Rancho used to be a flagship restaurant. None of the 26 guests will be eating there anymore.

A rustic Mexican steakhouse with a truly authentic atmosphere. The food was good and served quickly. Parking is scarce in the area.

You should always start on a positive note. The food was okay. Now for the rest. We were a wedding party of almost 30 people, which had been announced about half a year in advance. We discussed the desired food four weeks in advance, but no one could remember it on the day. On top of that, the service was very poor, unfriendly, there was hair in the food, and a fruit fly in the liquor. Everyone we told the story to lost their faith; it's simply too long for a review. Happy Rancho used to be one of the best restaurants in Schleswig, which is probably where the review came from, but unfortunately, it no longer does it justice.

Steak restaurant in Schleswig off the main Street. Place looks more like a two story house that was converted to a restaurant. Lower flor with around 10 tables and upper flor heaving two large rooms with more 10 tables each. Very simple decore and tables what influences the place atmosphere. Large selection of starters, main and salads. Grilled meat selection is also very nice and with resonable prices. Tried the rump stake, 220 gr., that comes with pomes. Requested medium rare and that exactly what i got. Pomes were great in taste and no frying oil remains. Service was very slow across all tables around us. Overall, steak was great and deserves the points.

It was delicious, served quickly, and the portions were decent. The service was polite and the price was reasonable!

Very tasty food and big portions. Has a local touch to it. We were sitting on the first floor with a fine view of the old buildings around us. Friendly and effective service. No problems adjusting the food to my needs (diabetic). Dogfriendly. Fair prices. Had an outdoor area, but it was not ready for guests.

Two out of three steaks were not cooked to the desired degree, and this in a steakhouse!

Unfortunately, I'm no longer recommended. It's deteriorated considerably. The table was incredibly sticky, my phone stuck to it, and the salt shaker was difficult to remove from the table. We weren't there during peak hours, but we still had to wait 40 minutes for our food. The food was okay, but unfortunately, the sauces arrived a little later than the food itself. My dish was completely missing the toast, but I was able to replace it upon request, but I had to wait for it again. All in all, I wouldn't go there again. Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio is no longer right.

1. Some of the appetizers were served before the drinks, while others were served only upon request ("... I thought the salad was meant to be served with the meal..." - despite the order to the contrary). 2. The non-alcoholic wheat beer was supposedly the alcoholic beverage ordered. 3. The rosé wine was warm ("... it's always served like this here..."). 4. The requested "bleu" (bleu) degree of doneness for one of the steaks was obviously unknown to both the wait staff and the chef; despite clear instructions, the steak was served almost cooked (and returned). 5. French fries were served instead of the ordered baked potato (no refund). 6. The requested "rare" degree of doneness for another steak turned out to be "medium" (no refund). 7. The restrooms could only be used with the door open, and the lights didn't work. 8. There were no paper towels in the women's restroom. Overall, the food was tasty and the service was attentive, but clearly overwhelmed. However, the fact that the chef at a steakhouse apparently doesn't know the right degree of doneness for these steaks is a real disappointment. We, for one, won't be visiting this restaurant again.

Where do I begin... First I was sent up to table 8, but the waiter upstairs said it was busy and we should ask downstairs. Then I was told to go to table 7. When I got there, I waited 15 minutes for the menus and immediately ordered drinks. The table was sticky. Even the salt shaker could only be removed with force. The drinks came after 40 minutes. When the food finally arrived after over 70 minutes!!, the steaks were unfortunately almost raw instead of medium, so they had to be returned to the kitchen. The waiters seemed to be trying hard but overwhelmed. Next to us was a table where people got their food after us, even though they had arrived well before us. When the steak finally came back from the kitchen, it tasted fine. Because of the long wait, we had to reorder drinks. The old drinks weren't even cleared away. Overall, I wouldn't come back here. Maybe we just had a bad day, but unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend it.

Here, in the pictures for the menu, it says two Wiener Schnitzel with fries. Does it cost 9.50 or 14.90?

I had the house special for lunch, which I highly recommend. A generous portion and very tasty. The breaded schnitzel in particular put me in a good mood. The best I've ever had. The guys were attentive and friendly. I'd be happy to go again.

Ate with 11 people of all ages and everyone was satisfied.

Unfortunately it has turned out pretty bad.

Perhaps due to the time of year, it was difficult to find a restaurant open at lunchtime. So it was more of a coincidence that we found what appeared to be a restaurant on the edge of the city center in a traffic-calmed area, just opening its doors. Dark, Spanish-style furniture. Table runners used as placemats were a bit worn. Window sills and frames needed updating, but otherwise spotlessly clean, including the restroom facilities. The owners, two young men, were very friendly. Drinks and food arrived in a reasonable time and tasted very good. Unfortunately, there was no question of checking in between whether everything was okay or if anything else was needed. The value for money is very good. Unreservedly recommended.

When we asked after 50 minutes, we received it after another 10 minutes. The 450g ribs eye I ordered was not medium but raw. Hunger prevailed. The taste is just normal. The service was not motivated. We were forgotten upstairs.

The Happy Rancho was pretty mediocre for a while. With the new team, a real recommendation again. The food, with generous portions, was consistently delicious for all 6 people, and the service was friendly and attentive. On the weekend, allow for a wait of about 1/2 hour for the food, but it's worth it. Reservations are recommended. Addendum: There were six of us there today and we ate from the lunch menu for under €10. Really great and inexpensive. Unreservedly recommended.

Was greeted by a not very enthusiastic/obvious waiter, when we asked if there was a table available for 2, he pointed up the stairs and looked like we were a bother. He only came up when we were all the way up and showed us which seats we could sit at. We then sat for a while without a menu card, when we finally got it, it was a very short time before he came and asked for drinks and food orders. The food came after a short time and tasted great, but the waiter looked like we were just a nuisance, he also didn't speak very loudly, so it was hard to hear what he said. When we had eaten the main course we agreed that a dessert would be nice to end on. When we finally got in touch with the waiter after half an hour, we were almost in trouble because we wanted to see the menu to find the dessert we wanted. The dessert tasted nice, but there was not much commitment from the waiter. There was no question at all about the food or whether everything was as it should be.

Food was OK, but is overrated, especially the steak prices (mainly Argentine meat) are above average. Ambiance is quaint. Service... well, I agree with the previous speakers from the last few months -> Terrible is well described.

We have been there very often for years and have always been very satisfied. There has been a completely new staff there for a short time and we are super disappointed. Everyone is totally confused and prefers to stand in groups of three at the counter and talk in a different language and the guests have to wait or are ignored. Drinks are forgotten, food is noted and served incorrectly. We've been there three times since the personnel change to give it a chance, but unfortunately we won't be coming anymore. At the end we wanted to have our daughter's food packed and they only put a box on the table and we had to pack the food ourselves. Really a shame...

We always enjoyed staying at Happy Rancho. The food is still impressive and very tasty. Unfortunately, the service is no longer convincing at all. Since the gentlemen have been there, everything has been completely haphazard and wrong. Orders are forgotten. You have to wait a long time for the drinks. The gentlemen stand with three people behind the bar and you are no longer noticed as a guest, and this lasts for the entire visit. We had to notice this on three different evenings. The two girls who were there before had it better under control. We will avoid the restaurant in the future. It's a shame.

Personally, I wasn't very happy with the food or anything else. We definitely had an unhappy table, but that's where we sat. Others had better luck here!

Happy Rancho – a steakhouse that impresses in terms of taste, but is completely disappointing in terms of service. Eat: The quality of the food is first class! The steaks are perfectly prepared, cooked to perfection, and the side dishes are also impressive with their freshness and taste. Here the craft of the kitchen is carried out with passion. The price-performance ratio is unbeatable – a clear 10/10. If you appreciate good meat and lovingly prepared dishes, this is definitely the right place for you. Service: Unfortunately, the joy of the excellent food is marred by the catastrophic service. As soon as you enter you feel uncomfortable: instead of being greeted in a friendly manner, the employees behind the bar stare at you for minutes - unpleasant and unprofessional. Although the menu cards are delivered quickly, ordering takes a long time. Meanwhile, three employees stand behind the bar, deep in conversation, and seem to completely forget the guests. This inattentive behavior runs like a common thread through the entire evening. However, the peak of poor organization became apparent during a planned reservation. My husband was trying to reserve a table for our anniversary - a simple request that became a challenge here. For a week he was put off with excuses: you had to wait for a certain employee, a call would be called back (which never happened), or it wasn't possible to make a reservation at the moment. After a week full of frustration, we decided to go to another restaurant - unfortunately rightly so. Conclusion: The Happy Rancho steakhouse offers fantastic food and an appealing ambience - but the service ruins the overall experience. The owner should act urgently because the restaurant's potential is being wasted by the behavior of the employees. Anyone who comes solely for the food will be delighted. However, a change in service is urgently needed to ensure a coherent overall experience. It's a shame for what Happy Rancho could be.

We were there for lunch. Service ok, value for money ok, no vegetarian main courses (to be expected at a steakhouse, but at least one vegetarian main course would be desirable). The table decorations and card were a bit worn. The waitress was rather inappropriately dressed.

Leckeres Essen. Schnell serviert. Nettes Personal. Ambiente sehr einfach und leider keine Musik oder ähnliches. Während des Essens wurde gewischt...!!! Toilette unten war abgeschlossen, man musste immer nach oben in den 1.Stock.

Super delicious food. Attentive service staff. Slightly reduced menu at Christmas, but more of a sufficient selection. As a starter, the breaded sheep's cheese. As the main course, the mixed grill plate.

We were there with 14 people. Unfortunately only one waiter for us. The restaurant wasn't very busy at the time and unfortunately we had to wait a long time for the drinks. And the drink replenishment didn't really work either.

We decided to go out to eat at short notice, so we called there first thing in the morning to reserve a table. I actually didn't have much hope of reaching anyone so early. When someone answered and confirmed that we still got a table outside for 4 people, we were very happy. As soon as we arrived and registered there, we were already sitting at the table. We then ordered and received drinks very quickly from a nice gentleman. The food order went out shortly afterwards and the wait was reasonable. About the menu: It is clear, in the sense of readability. Even older people can read them well. The selection is very good, and everyone should find something for the drinks. We had lamb, chicken and stuffed rump steak on the table with a variety of side dishes such as fries, croquettes and fried potatoes. Everything tasted perfect and the portions were also very good. The staff checked regularly to make sure everything was OK. All in all it was a successful stay. Many thanks to the entire team, very friendly and attentive. Many thanks to the kitchen for the quality, it tasted very good. We'd love to come back.

Forventer mer av en restaurant med de gode råvarene. Rumpsteak var god, men ikke mer. Bakt potet var overlesset med rømme, som var litt anonym i smaken. Kjøttet bar mørt, men likevel manglet det en finesse. Service var langt nede på skalaen. Personalet snakket med hverandre uten å ha nok fokus på gjesten ( e). Hadde ikke det som stod på kartet av drikke. Restauranten var ukoselig og kald! Finner annet spisested bes neste besøk i byen.

The food is very tasty, can be made well, and the prices are completely reasonable. Unfortunately my Cola had hardly any carbon dioxide left in it, which was a shame, but it happened. The service is friendly but quite sober and unemotional, which gives the impression of acute displeasure, which is why there is a bit of a lack of coziness. All in all: Well, you can do it sometimes, but it won't be a regular place.

Great lunch, very tasty and large portions

My medium fried beef fillet was on point and beautifully tender. The court of mine Mannes consisted of a piece of turkey, beef and pork schnitzel. It was okay but too dry except for the piece of beef. All in all good, but not outstanding.

Four of us ate here. 2 adults and 2 children. I had a rump steak, my wife had a salad and the children had penne with tomato sauce. Very tasty 🤤 and everyone was more than full. Prices are good. We ordered two main courses and enjoyed them. On the top plate, the fries were extra in a bowl. Two sauces and the mayonnaise we ordered are also missing from the photo. Both dishes were cooked to perfection, the fries were crispy and the broccoli was tasty.

Been back to Happy Rancho in a long time. The waitress welcomed us in a friendly manner and brought us to the table. After our order (grill plate) the drinks came quickly. The food arrived slightly late. But the wait was worth it. The meat was very juicy and seasoned just right. Fries very crispy and the rice wonderfully seasoned. The dips for the steak were extremely tasty. The red pepper sauce, there's no other way to say it, was awesome. We can also only recommend the garlic sauce. However, the ambience is gradually in need of renovation. But you should definitely stop by for the good food.

Very nice restaurant over two floors and there was enough space between the tables. The food was very tasty and the portion sizes were good value for money. The meat was tender and juicy and the side dishes were also delicious. The garlic bread is highly recommended. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Can only recommend the restaurant.
