Hako Ramen Prenzlauer Berg in Berlin

Very nice overall, ramen was very good, except for chiken miso ramen, didn’t really like the broth and chicken was a little bland. For a date was about 60 euros with drinks and a starter. Atmosphere is very cool.

Really authentic ramen, the taste is right, the quantity is great and for only €3 you get a really big portion of noodles on top. I can only recommend it

Doesn't taste good at all!!! If you want to eat pure sesame, this is unfortunately not recommended at all. Unfortunately the noodles weren't that good either.

Delicious food and nice ambience

I’ve been a loyal customer of Hako for several years, rating it a solid five stars for its exceptional quality, innovative dishes, and fresh ingredients. However, after my recent visits, I have to revise my rating. It has now lost its charm and integrity. The tofu salad for e.g., is now reduced to a simple piece of store-bought silken tofu, drenched in mayonnaise and topped with iceberg lettuce and tomatoes. The miso soup, has turned into an oily broth devoid of any real flavor or seaweed. The quality of the main courses has also declined significantly, leaving much to be desired. To add to the disappointment, the ambiance has taken a turn for the worse. The overly bright lighting detracts from the cozy and inviting atmosphere that made it a great choice for a night out. Sadly, I can no longer recommend Hako as a go-to dining spot.

Neither on the website nor when making a reservation is it stated that payment can only be made in cash. Welcome to 2025... Instead, you get the card thrown at you with the message Cash Only. No, thank you. I do not support such tax saving models.

We had ramen, but nothing special about it. I really wonder why it becomes so popular. It wasn't a place to go again and again.

Our first time today but unfortunately, Yuzu Shoyu Ramen tasted very watery and bland. Miso Ramen was tasty in my opinion but if someone is looking for 100% authentic Ramen I can’t recommend it. Service is friendly.

In my opinion, the restaurant does not offer "authentic Japanese ramen" as described. The team seems to be entirely Vietnamese, of course not in a negative way, but I haven't been able to find a Japanese chef there yet. My miso ramen (chicken) had a distinct hint of pork, too distinct than it should be for miso ramen. The noodles didn't remind me of ramen noodles at all. When paying (the service was very friendly up to that point) I was told that they only accept cash. I hadn't found any sign of it until I got to the entrance area. I was then asked to pay via Paypal. Meanwhile, I was asked to choose “Family and Friends.” It's one thing not to accept card payments (although this was my last visit there because I don't think it's up to date anymore), but paying via Paypal is not meant that way. We are neither family nor friends, but the business is a service provider. Nice ambience and great location.

I just ordered “Sake Abogado Don” for €15.50. On the one hand, the food didn't contain what was in the description - no asparagus, on the other hand, the bowl was full of rice, hardly any sauce & 100g of extremely dry salmon (I weighed it). That's really a disgrace for €15.50

Excellent ramen experience at Hako Ramen in Prenzlauer Berg! Hako Ramen absolutely thrilled me! The cozy atmosphere of the restaurant, coupled with the stylish, modern design, immediately invites you to linger. The service was extremely friendly and attentive without being intrusive - you really feel welcome as a guest. But the highlight was definitely the food: the ramen is an absolute delight! The broth is incredibly aromatic, perfectly seasoned and is of high quality. The fresh ingredients – from the noodles to the toppings – are perfectly balanced and make every bowl a taste experience. I particularly recommended the version with tonkotsu broth and chashu, but I was also pleasantly surprised by the vegetarian option. The portion sizes are generous and the price-performance ratio is absolutely fair. If you love ramen or want to get to know this Japanese specialty, you should definitely visit Hako Ramen. I'll definitely be back! 5/5 stars!

Very bad food, the meat was undercooked. I tried to complain nicely but was rejected pretty aggressively. Please do not eat here under any circumstances. Avoid this local.

It's not delicious. This is a restaurant that only accepts cash payments and is run by Vietnamese, not Japanese. There's no water or side dishes, it's not cheap, and it's not that special... Westerners might like it, but for Asians, it tastes nothing like this. It would be better to just do it alone.

Hopping space at lunchtime, with delicious, generous bowls of ramen. So nice to encounter actual spice, too. Berlin-native server has a cool San Diego accent and terrific tableside manners. Lemonade was super fresh!

Very fast service, relaxed and cozy atmosphere, top ramen.

Popped in before a movie night, I had the Japanese curry katsu, while not super spicy it did have a nice heat to it. The rest of the family all enjoyed their dishes and Tiger beer on tap. The reason for the 4 star is the “cash only” policy. Which I wish restaurants would just stop doing.

We visited it for a first time last year and been in love ever since. We tell everybody about this place. Such cozy atmosphere, the staff was adorable and the food left us speeches. So so so delicious! Absolutely worthy, must try!
