There were three of us for dinner. The atmosphere is very nice and the moss tables are something special. Our food was very good. Unfortunately I only have to deduct one point. Four sauces were served with my rump steak. Unfortunately, there is no explanation from the service as to what it is. Unfortunately one of them was with truffles. Since I have an intolerance to it, it has become very uncomfortable for me. But I was able to tell the service about this and it was cleared away. Otherwise the dishes were on point. The robot is a cool thing.

Wir hatten die Vorspeisenpyramide für 2 Personen (pro Person 7 !!! Portionen) und damit den Preis absolut wert. Danach waren wir eigentlich schon satt. Danach haben wir uns deshalb nur eine kleine (absolut ausreichende) Portion Rinderfilet bestellt. Einmal Black Angus und einmal Kobe-Rind. Das Kobe-Rinderfilet war das beste was ich bisher in meinem Leben an Fleisch gegessen habe. Das Erlebnis war den Preis wert. Man möchte sagen, das macht man nur einmal - aber nach diesem Genuss werden wir uns das Erlebnis doch noch öfter im Leben gönnen. Ein Wermutstropfen war die recht bescheidene Auswahl offener Weine, da uns eine ganze Flasche für 2 Personen zu führerscheingefährlich gewesen wäre. Der Service (neu angelernt?) sehr bemüht und freundlich, erreicht jedoch (noch) nicht die Qualität des Essens. Wir kommen 100% -ig wieder.

So... eat fantastic... Location...well...if you like...lots of gold and glamour... Music... very strange mix... from classical to radio salue... everything across the board... The head waitress and the conditions...a lot of room for improvement. They showed their displeasure with their facial expressions and their awkward agreement. Eyes were rolled, food was forgotten and no excuse was given. You were bullied if you wanted to have something to eat... well... and it's extremely expensive! And for these prices I expect friendliness at its finest! But the ladies and gentlemen were probably too good for that... we urgently need to work on it! Unfortunately, that ruined the evening a bit. Very unfortunate. The food was very good, but that was thanks to the chef and not the service.

The food was great and of top quality. But if I spend an average of between 100 and 150 euros per person in the restaurant, I can expect good service. The appetizer plates were decoration because the bread and spread were forgotten. After it was noticed, it was put on the table and at the same time the plates and spread knives were cleared away. The starter had already been eaten, the wine and water we had ordered were not yet at the table. It's a shame that we were only able to enjoy a very tasty and expensive meal to a limited extent due to poor service.

We used to be frequent guests at Grill au Bois, but last night we were there again after a long time. Four people, we had invited a couple who were friends, expectations were high. And this time I was unfortunately disappointed. The ambience remains beautiful, the service remains excellent - but the cuisine gave rise to criticism. I don't know if the cook is going through a divorce or has had a death in the family and was absent-minded or in a bad mood yesterday. Maybe I just happened to catch a natural diurnal fluctuation - but some of the food was just bad! The bouillabaisse, which previously never gave rise to criticism, was a complete failure. No fishy taste at all, far too watery-thin and clearly oversalted. This can be done better, you could do it better! My rump steak medium was basically ok, but not à point. Two more minutes on the grill would have done him good. What was completely inedible was the pepper sauce, which you can order additionally: a disgusting taste and extremely bitter. Burnt? That will not do! Not necessarily a point of criticism, but we were disappointed by a small change in the menu. For years there were wonderful mushrooms parisiens in pans that you could order as a side dish. They've disappeared from the menu. Instead we were offered chanterelles. No interest! The expectation of these mushrooms was one of the reasons for visiting Grill au Bois in the first place. And then they are no longer offered...well. Could it be that a new chef is working in the kitchen and has put his own stamp on both the menu and the preparations? I had that impression. And if this is the case, could it be that this chef is overwhelmed with running the kitchen? It may be that last night we had the only really weak day of the year, when the kitchen performance happened to be deep in the basement. Coincidence. So we will still eat at the Grill au Bois again, for testing purposes so to speak, and in the hope that the quality will be back to its old level. If not, this once truly praiseworthy restaurant will be history for us. There are alternatives in Saarland.

Waren hier zum 1. Mal. Wir hatten je das Gourmet Menü zu 63,- Euro. Vorspeise und Hauptgericht waren gut, nichts Besonderes aber geschmacklich völlig in Ordnung. Der Nachttisch war einfach nur ein Witz, wirklich einfallslos, zu dem Menüpreis eigentlich eine Frechheit, so etwas zu servieren. Haben in anderen Restaurants schon bedeutend besser gegessen, auch mit bedeutend besseren Nachspeisen und zudem günstiger. Ambiente sowie Einsatz von Tablets zum bestellen und Gastro-Roboter haben uns nicht angesprochen, ist aber Geschmackssache. Einen Wow-Effekt hat es leider nicht gegeben, somit wird es einen 2. Besuch unsererseits auch nicht mehr geben.

Anyone who wants and is hungry for good meat. This is exactly the right place. The patty was exactly slightly pink as ordered. The roll is fresh and homemade with the delicious truffle sauce. Simply heavenly and delicious. The fries were too much for me but they were included in the price. Nicely rustic and new atmosphere rounded off the perfect evening. The staff was very friendly and our dog was also well looked after. TRUE RECOMMENDATION

We came here as tourists and looking for a steakhouse. My impression was that expectations and reality differ greatly here. The service was initially too present and later no longer available to us. The order was taken and then requested again later. A few of us had a complete place setting, others were missing the appetizer or bread knife. An attempt was made to clear away the bread before the salad, especially since the bread plates were also much too big. The food was good, but lacked any sophistication. The scoop of ice cream with the espresso was buried under and bedded on a mountain of cream with brittle sprinkles, which wasn't on the menu and was very surprising. There are many more authentic and some better culinary places.

I ordered a Kobe steak. First we got a buffalo steak with the buffalo flag stuck in it. However, I was assured this was a Kobe steak. After a while the lady came back and admitted the mistake. Shortly afterwards my Kobe steak arrived, completely burnt (you could smell it from a certain distance). However, this time I was assured that this was how you would eat a Kobe steak as it would burn due to the marbling. Since it was inedible, I let it go back anyway and ended up with a slightly less burnt steak. All in all, unfortunately a disappointment

An absolutely fabulous SteakHouse. I had beef tenderloin and it was unique. The prices could be kept a little lower, but otherwise everything is great. The restaurant has a lovely outdoor ambience and even real moss, which serves as a natural air filter.

On the occasion of our 20th wedding anniversary, five of us were guests and spent around 500 euros. Unfortunately, the weeks of anticipation turned into complete disappointment. The service and ambience at Grill au Bois were impeccable. The first thing that was disappointing was the meat in 4 main courses (beef fillet from American beef) - it can happen, mistakes can happen. But what is really a shame is that there was no response at all to a factual email without a request. It makes us really sad that as a guest you are obviously neither valued nor taken seriously. After all, we will remember this anniversary for a long time.

"Oh boy, oh boy / Au Bois Au Bois" are the words that come to mind when I think of this restaurant. But this is not in the form of a complaint, but rather in the form of praise! This restaurant is a sanctuary for every meat lover. The dishes are excellently prepared. The portions are reasonable and the staff is always courteous and attentive. It is truly a treat to dine here. Of course, this also has its price, but it is definitely justified given the quality offered. If you want to convince someone never to become a vegetarian, take them to the hallowed halls of Grill Au Bois.

Vorab, das Essen war sehr lecker was aber völlig in den Hintergrund gerückt ist. Leider hatten wir einen medizinischen Notfall und eine unserer Begleitungen ist kollabiert. Es kam KEINE! Bedienung auf uns zu um zu fragen ob wir Hilfe brauchen. Es wurde nicht gefragt ob wir ein Glas Wasser brauchen oder wie es dem Gast geht nachdem er vom Rettungswagen mitgenommen wurde. Auch diesen mussten wir selbst rufen! Zum Abschied wurde man noch von anderen Gästen beschimpft weil der Krankenwagen mit laufenden Motor vor dem Tor stand. Der Gast wurde zur weiteren Abklärung mit ins Krankenhaus genommen. Schade, ich hätte mir vom Service mehr erhofft!

It was actually a wonderful evening until shortly before the end. We have been here regularly in various constellations and had a very good meal today too. Unfortunately one of our friends collapsed very suddenly and then the drama began. It suddenly felt like we were just a nuisance, the service didn't even offer a glass of water or a cold cloth. We were then forced to call the RTW ourselves, even when they arrived they didn't ask. The icing on the cake was a guest complaining loudly through the RTW next to his outside table. Swearing at the ambulance driver is bad enough, but then we were called idiots. Money cannot buy decency; in a restaurant with decency, this guest should have been turned away from the door. We will not come again and therefore advise against a visit. Food isn't everything in the catering industry.

First of all, the food was very tasty, but that was completely pushed into the background. Unfortunately we had a medical emergency and one of our companions collapsed. Unfortunately, NONE came! The waitress approached us to ask if we needed help. We weren't asked if we needed a glass of water. The RTW also had to be called. When we said goodbye, we were insulted by other guests about how “poor” we were because the ambulance was standing in front of the gate with the engine running. Sorry, doesn't work at all!

I wanted to have a nice day with my wife on my 50th birthday today, but unfortunately we were very disappointed, which is why I'm even taking the time on my birthday for this recession. When we were invited to the table, we immediately noticed the dusty and unkempt wine bucket and when I later looked at the floor, I had to remove the previous guest's dip or sauce from the floor, which was also dusty. Well we thought, if so at least the food tastes good. Given the high prices, you should actually assume that. We ordered the aperitif and the food arrived after just 10 minutes after I had only taken two sips of my Campari Orange. My steak was served medium rare (even though I ordered medium rare). Well, it can happen, we still thought. Normally a waiter would ask what you would like to drink with your meal, right? My Angus rump steak came back after 3 minutes, apparently the entire plate was just put in the microwave. The baked potato looked like it had been made the day before and was completely overcooked and inedible for me, the dips were definitely finished products and there were still no questions from the service about drinks. The side salad only tasted like oil and I asked my wife where the hidden camera was. My wife was only able to eat half of her ox cheeks because the "cheap summer truffles" from Aldi were scattered on it and everything tasted like that. Tasty is different. By then we had both lost our appetite and after only 45 minutes we just wanted to go home. I can't understand the good reviews on Google in any way. We are very disappointed and can't really recommend the "Grill Au Bois" to anyone who values service, cleanliness and delicious food.

Essen war gut aber für ein französisches Restaurant katastrophale Rotweine im Ausschank. Wenn man nur ein Glas Rotwein zum Essen trinken möchte bekommt man 2 Weine aus 3 Liter oder 1 Liter Flaschen zur. Auswagl, welche nach Essig schmecken da sie offensichtlich schon längere Zeit geöffnet waren.

If there were 10 points, they would definitely be appropriate here! If you want steaks of all sizes, variations and from all countries to be perfectly prepared, you have come to the right place!! The truffle butter served with it is another highlight. Some dishes (tartar, tiramisu) are prepared at the table. The staff is very courteous and you receive the best advice and care. The ambience in the wooden house is unique. The prices are high but justified. We will be returning soon!

Continuous inadequacies in orders - Unsatisfactory service I would like to express my deep disappointment and frustration at the continuous inadequacies in my orders at this restaurant. Despite my clear comments and repeated declarations that I do not consume pork for personal reasons, on my last consecutive visit I was served a pork burger not once, but twice. In the first incident, I politely pointed out that I didn't eat pork and asked for a correction to my order. Unfortunately, despite my request, I was served another pork burger, which was extremely disappointing and greatly marred my visit. Disappointingly, the same issue occurred again with my second order. I reiterated that I didn't want any pork and asked that my order be adjusted accordingly. Despite this clear instruction, I was again served a pork burger, which not only disappointed my expectations of your service, but also severely undermined my trustworthiness in your ability to meet basic customer requests. As a long-time customer of your restaurant, I am deeply disappointed by these repeated errors, which clearly indicate that my comments are not being taken seriously. The fact that my preferences were ignored on two consecutive visits leaves a bitter taste and calls into question the quality of your service. I therefore ask for a sincere apology for this repeated inconvenience, as well as concrete measures to ensure that such mistakes are avoided in the future. It is essential that employees are sensitized and trained to respect and act on customer needs and requirements. As a paying customer and supporter of the restaurant, I expect to hear back soon and hope for an appropriate solution to this recurring problem. We ate at Grill au Bois on Tuesday. We wanted to spend a quiet and cozy evening there because it was my birthday, even though I didn't specify this in the online reservation The meat was perfect as always, although for my wife it was medium rare rather than medium rare. But given the good quality of the meat, this can be overcome. As I said, the meat was great, but the service was terrible. I've rarely experienced something like that. When we got to the table, we noticed that the waitress lady with the flowery name wasn't really interested in us. The drinks were included immediately after my wife and I decided to have an aperitif instead of a starter. A few moments later the lady stood there again, wanting to take the food order. They tried several times to sell the man an appetizer. Drinks were brought while we ordered. Instead of waiting a moment for the order to be taken and then serving, people pushed in between them and put the drinks down. Since people were typing wildly on the tablet and people were looking at me, I wanted to place my order. Instead of placing the order, I was reprimanded that the other order had not yet been completely taken. Waited briefly, then gave up. We had just toasted and the salad was already brought out. It wasn't even time to enjoy the aperitif. Less than a minute later, the steaks were there. Here too, the salad could not be eaten before the main course, as we were rushed through like we were in a fast food restaurant. My wife was told snidely that she should push the salad over, the steaks are now there. Apparently my wife didn't eat quickly enough, because while she was still eating, the same waitress asked if it was ready to be cleared away. "Ah... you're still eating"... was the statement after my wife looked annoyed In the meantime, I noticed how the lady was watching us and peering around the corner several times, wondering when we would finally be finished. I find such behavior to be an absolute no go. When we finished eating we were asked for dessert. However, the mood afterwards was in the basement and we happily declined and asked for the bill. The bill…. The only thing that evening we had to wait a long time for. This was “presented” to us by throwing out an advertisement for a Udo Jürgens dinner, putting down the booklet with the bill and then throwing the bill on the table. I had to leave the tip on the table after paying. Normally this is put in the booklet. What was taken. Normally the lady wouldn't have deserved a tip. Truly impossible behavior. Was there prejudice because, as a man, I have long hair!? I have never experienced anything like this in this great restaurant with extremely good meat quality. We are there several times a year. The last time in February, we were always treated impeccably. But what we experienced last Tuesday does not deserve to be called “service”. My professional background is in quality assurance with customers and assessing how customers are treated. So I can get an idea of good and bad service.

The four of us had a cozy dinner on Tuesday for about 3 hours in the beautifully furnished restaurant! The service was very nice, attentive and friendly, the breaks between courses were closely coordinated with us, we thought this was great! Our women decided on the flirt menu, they were already very enthusiastic about the Étagère starter, after the white asparagus cream soup with Parmesan cappuccino came the very tasty main course, which was then served with the dessert prepared at the table, TIRAMISU according to the house style, sweetened! We, the men, chose the Black Angus beef fillet from the USA 300g as our main course. The fillet was so tender and super delicious! The buttery, creamy aroma and the gently melting consistency of the Black Angus beef fillet are a real treat that we were able to experience! A salad was served at the table before the beef fillet, and side dishes were steak potatoes and Bernaise sauce! The starter I chose, Black Angus beef tenderloin tartare, was also excellent! We were all thrilled and so full, we'll definitely be back!

This was our second visit and we weren't really impressed. The prices are definitely too high for most dishes and especially wines. (Some of them come from the trade or have a lot to do with gastronomy due to their job and know top gastronomy from Saarland). We had the feeling that they were trying to play with the “big guys”, but unfortunately it wasn't enough. The kitchen does a very good job, but it's not enough for this price level (roughly €50 - €100 per main course was our average). The service was also friendly and quite attentive, but we had to ask for new cutlery several times and also noticed that the pace increased towards the end because we wanted to finish work. (Absolutely understandable, but again, this is about the very high price level, something like that shouldn't happen!) The taste of the food was good, but on both visits the main courses were not appropriate for the price: some seasoning had to be added and the cooking level was different for two identical dishes (thickness of the meat was different, but again, that shouldn't happen at this price level) . There are addresses that are more confident at this price level. Less is more! A little more honesty and not a compulsive attempt to suggest something by offering prices that are too high, that would create a completely different picture. That's our honest opinion.

The atmosphere is really nice, we always felt comfortable and were always warmly welcomed. We have grown fond of some of the waitresses over the years and were always happy to see them again. Now comes the “BUT” We were guests at your restaurant again today and I was shocked by the price increases of my favorite dishes. I think a price increase of 35% since Christmas is extreme. Unfortunately, this quickly took away my anticipation for the evening. I am a passionate hobby cook and know very well that top products have become more expensive and top quality has its price, but a surcharge of €20 in 3 months will get me out of it. On February 24, we went to Grill au Bois for brunch for a long time. The taste of the food was good and the service was very friendly. However, the starter didn't convince us in terms of selection. The main course, consisting of roast beef, potato gratin and savoy cabbage, could have been more generous for the price of 47 euros. Wir waren seit langer Zeit mal wieder im Grill Au Bois zum Brunch. Geschmacklich war das Essen gut. Allerdings für den Preis von 48,- Euro, hätte die Auswahl, zumindest was den Hauptgang betrifft, großzügiger ausfallen können. Ein Fischgericht, eine 2. Gemüsebeilage (es gab nur Wirsing) oder auch eine Salatauswahl, hätte sicherlich zu mehr Zufriedenheit beigetragen. Selbst die Vorspeisenvariation hat uns nicht überzeugt. Wer das Grill Au Bois aus früheren Zeiten kennt, wird zumindest beim Brunch sehr "überrascht" sein. Im unteren Teil des Restaurants haben wir uns auch nicht besonders wohl gefühlt. The steakhouse, built as a log cabin, is located in the immediate vicinity of the A8 Neunkirchen-Oberstadt motorway entrance. However, you don't notice any traffic inside. The ambience is very dignified and high quality and invites you to linger. The Soeisen are first class, the steaks are on point, and the homemade tiramisu is also a poem. The flirt menu is my personal recommendation and unbeatable in terms of value for money. The presentation of the food is also fantastic; after all, the eye is there too. The service is absolutely friendly and accommodating. A funny gimmick are the Robo-Cats that support the service staff when serving. We'd love to come back.

This in and of itself is not a big deal and can happen. However, you should make sure whether clothing has been soiled or the food on the plates has been contaminated. This was missed. Reservation was easy via the website. The table was beautifully set, but everything in the room was full and way too loud. We arrived at 7:30 p.m. and had a drink at 9:30 after the starter salad was already on the table. The waitress who picked up drinks and food was super unfriendly. The girls who distributed them were nice, but no restaurant netiquette... ;) The actual food came after 9 p.m. We all had the Grill Mix plate. The beef tasted great, the pork was not good. When we wanted to order dessert around 10 p.m., the kitchen was already closed and a trolley with leftover dessert arrived. The small portion of creme brulée was a whopping 1.5 tablespoons…. In the end we paid €139 (2 grill plates, mini creme brulée, dessert cake, 2 bottles of sparkling water, an espresso and a ramazotti rosato) for absolutely no justified service for two. That's really a pity! Above all, the really underground mega unfriendly service.

My visit to Grill Au bois was a complete disaster, the likes of which I have never experienced before. I was looking forward to a special culinary experience and ordered the Kobe Wagyu fillet steak medium for an impressive €178.00. But what happened next far exceeded my worst fears. When the steak finally arrived, it was so raw that it was more reminiscent of a blood drive than a meal. Despite frying twice, the meat remained tough and inedible. The waiter, Yassine, didn't seem to take the issue seriously and tried to convince me that raw meat was normal for Wagyu. As if that wasn't enough, it turned out that I had mistakenly only been served half of the meat I ordered. Only after I had finished eating and asked for the bill was I informed of this. When I asked for the bill, Yassine informed me that I could take the remaining raw meat home to grill myself. I have never experienced such a bold and outrageous solution! After a long discussion and my steadfast refusal to take the raw meat home, Yassine was finally able to cancel the incorrect order. The service was unfriendly, unprofessional and inadequate from the start, and the quality of the food was disproportionate to the overpriced prices. Such a disastrous experience deserves no recommendation and I will certainly never set foot in this restaurant again.

Ich war bereits des Öfteren in diesem Lokal essen. Jedes mal wurde ich enttäuscht und ließ mich dann doch von anderen überreden, die anscheinend mehr Glück hatten. Das Ambiente präsentiert sich als wirklich ansprechend und die Angestellten sind durchweg freundlich. Bei einer Gelegenheit bestellte ich ein Steak, das sich als zäh wie eh und je erwies – kein Problem, kann mal vorkommen. Beim nächsten Besuch wagte ich mich an einen Burger, der zwar salzig wie das tote Meer, jedoch noch halbwegs genießbar war. Bei einem erneuten Versuch wurde wieder Fleisch bestellt. Geordert war Medium. Als das Essen ankam, war das Fleisch leider nicht annähernd Medium, sondern derart ,,rare“, dass man sich fragen musste, ob es wirklich gegrillt wurde. Der verständnisvolle Kellner hat es mitgenommen und nachbraten lassen. Das Fleisch kam jedoch kalt und unverändert roh zurück, wurde also lediglich einmal spazieren getragen. Also wieder den Kellner beauftragt. Bis der sehnsüchtig erwartete Teller diesmal wieder eintraf, hatten alle anderen bereits aufgegessen. Das Fleisch war diesmal wenigstens leicht angewärmt, jedoch immer noch als ,,rare“ zu bezeichnen. Unsere Geduld war nun jedoch endgültig ausgereizt. Da es hier vielen Leuten gut gefällt bin ich in diesem Lokal wohl vom Pech verfolgt und muss weiteren Besuchen entsagen.

Ok so far, I let half of the truffle bruschetta go back, it didn't taste good and was way too much for a starter. My husband, however, really enjoyed the chestnut soup. The side salad was delicious and so was the meat and dips. But everything is just too much. I don't think I've ever paid €4.50 for a standard glass of 0.3l cola anywhere, but only €3.90 for a 0.3l cola beer. I'm happy to pay a little more for very good quality meat, but I honestly find it outrageous that this is deducted from the standard drinks.

Roman inn We ate very well there, I had a classic steak and my wife had various types of meat with side dishes. The owners are very friendly and nice and we had a great time talking to them. I can only recommend it, we felt very comfortable and the design of the interior was interesting. All in all a good choice.
