The portions are very small, nothing like the previous restaurant. They don't fill you up, which is a shame. The gyros were lightly seasoned, and there were so few fries, although they were tasty. The coleslaw was also good.

Well, I thought this couldn't be good. It didn't look very appealing overall, but the food was simply AMAZING. It was amazing. Freshly prepared, juicy meat. The salad was amazing 🫶😋

Simple restaurant, good food, friendly people, reasonable prices

My husband's grilled platter was good and plentiful. The bifteki was well-seasoned, and the souvlaki and pork fillet were tender. My gyro in Metaxas sauce was super delicious. We also really enjoyed the fries and mayo. The meal wasn't cheap, but it was still worth the money. The only negative thing for us were the chairs. They were uncomfortable...our feet and legs fell asleep on them.

Unfortunately, it's not what it used to be. It doesn't taste good at all anymore. Portions are getting smaller and smaller.

Honestly, it hasn't been like the previous owners for a long time. The pitta wasn't packaged nicely, so it all fell out while eating. I was shocked by the portion of fries; there were so few fries. Not even children's portions are that small. The meat was very small and stringy. It was my first time there since the new opening, and I'm a bit disappointed. The prices are way too high for the dishes. The meat was bland in flavor. The service was very friendly.

The positive thing is that there wasn't a long wait. Why? Because apparently, many regulars are staying away. I went there a few times after the change. After a break of a few weeks, I noticed on my last visit that the quality had unfortunately declined significantly. Please don't change what previously led to the restaurant being packed. I used to happily wait 45 minutes because I knew the quality of the food was excellent! The gyro was very coarsely cut and not really hot, garnished with slightly mushy tomatoes and much too coarse pieces of onion. The tzatziki was curdled, and the portion of fries was very small. The coleslaw was okay. Card payments weren't possible (it worked perfectly at the previous location). Conclusion: That's it for me for now. A real shame. I wish you much success, and maybe you should return to all the recipes.

Good for a barbecue snack. Deductions for not accepting card payments (Welcome to Germany, 2025) and for the rice, which still had a nice crust from the microwave.

Quite nice, we were passing through and came here based on the reviews. The portions are very reasonable for the price. The tzatziki could have had a bit more garlic; I found it unusually bland 😕. I didn't find the service very friendly; they could barely utter a word.

Unfortunately, it's not like it used to be. Portions were very small, there were more onions on the plate than anything else, and the gyro meat was cold. No, I'd rather stay away. The only positive thing was the drinks.

My meal was generally delicious, although some of the meat had a bit of mustard. And I found the rice portion to be small and a bit bulky. So if you can't decide between rice and fries, go for the fries; my friend made the better choice. Still, the prices were very fair, and at least there was enough meat on the plate. The server was very friendly and very quick with the drinks, although the food took a little longer to arrive.

The food tastes great. But the prices are simply overpriced and the portions are so small that you don't even get full. Charging €9 for a bit of tzatziki with gyros and €15 for fries with metaxagyros is sad. And then they don't accept card payments on site. It's better to make the customer walk 20 minutes to the nearest bank.

I've been a regular customer for years. After the change, I have to say, I don't like it as much anymore (I can only speak for myself). The service seems disorganized, the meat (souvlaki) is kind of oily!? It was much better under the previous owner! However, I have to say that the salad tastes better here now! But as I said, that's my impression, and everyone's tastes differ.

Since the new owners took over Grill Athen, the quality has been somewhat poor. The side salad lacked any imagination. The meat was good, but the portions were a bit small. This is a way to drive customers away. I doubt it will last long. Please be a bit more imaginative. Otherwise, customers won't come back.

Nice service, food not quite hot

Stopped here around 9 p.m. after the thermal baths... Super nice place with friendly service... Great value for money... Gyros with fries and mayo for €10 – and the taste was amazing. If we're ever in the area again, we'll be back... The winter garden and outdoor area, once Aldi is closed, have a really relaxed atmosphere.

Unfortunately, card payments aren't possible. So, no food either. No notice of it either. What a shame.

Addendum on May 19, 2025: The owner has changed. The gyros are no longer as good as Stefan's. The farmer's salad is no longer as good as Stefan's. The fries are no longer as good as Stefan's. I won't be coming back. ...2 stars, nothing more.

In general, the gyros are just like the previous owner's (delicious). However, the new owner shouldn't sell Menu 50 as chicken crosses when it's just Chicken McNuggets from a bag. Stefan's homemade chicken pieces were always a treat. For Menu 25 with rice, the souvlaki could have better quality meat. The consistency of the meat has deteriorated. But the price is still the same. I hope the new owners take the criticism to heart so that Grill Athens can continue to be successful in Bad Lippspringe.

We've been regular customers for ages and order regularly. Unfortunately, the quality of the meat has deteriorated recently since the change of ownership. The gyros are tough, with coarsely chopped onions. The bifteki now tastes completely different (spicy) and has a reddish interior, probably due to the spices. The souvlaki comes on a wooden skewer, but unfortunately, the meat here also tastes completely different. Sometimes it's very marbled. It's a shame. They promised nothing would change after the change of ownership... but the regular customers immediately notice that the most important thing, the meat, has deteriorated.

Great store, the new owners are very nice and accommodating!! The food is very tasty and, despite many orders, it comes quickly. I can only warmly recommend it!

In the last few months the quality has deteriorated significantly. Unfortunately, Gyros Pita is just full of fat when you bite into it. The staff prefer to chat among themselves and you wait over 10 minutes for 2 gyros pita even though there is no other customer in sight!! It's a shame, we've always enjoyed going there for years...but that's all over now.

Unfortunately, there's no option to eat in. They only offer takeout. (Probably due to different tax rates.) Previous reviews suggested otherwise... We ordered currywurst and fries, and it was delicious. The prices are quite high (in my opinion) considering you can't eat in. Therefore, I can't rate the service and ambiance positively.

Unfortunately, Greek snacks have become a rarity in the area, which makes it even nicer to have found this great restaurant! The food is fantastic! The service staff really friendly and nice. The location is very good, enough parking space. We are completely satisfied! Clear recommendation!

Update your opening hours! EDIT 1: ask I can't answer to your reply, I will answer by editing my review. Yes there was another paper that tells that you are closed on that period. But you must also update your google maps working hours so that customers don't come and find out that your are closed which was the case for us. People use google maps instead of going door by door and checking their working hours.

We were late in the evening because it was the only food in the area that was still open. Small atmosphere but nicely decorated and super nice staff. We had food 20 minutes before closing time and they waited until we were ready without stressing us out. Gladly again.

Very nice Greek restaurant. The food is delicious and the prices are absolutely reasonable. We would have liked to have had one or two more drinks, but the service staff preferred to sit inside and chat. But I give them credit for the fact that we were there quite late; they probably had a long shift behind them. The outside area is very cute.

We were guests at Grill Athens several times at the end of last year and can only report positive things. Nice service, delicious food and a nice atmosphere for a snack. If we're in the area again, we'll be happy to stop by again.

The Greek bistro (the term restaurant would be an exaggeration) is conveniently located in the large Aldi parking lot in Bad Lippspringe. There is even a covered outdoor dining area. The boss always takes care of the service. He is friendly but taciturn. When I was there alone, the food was ready after just 10 minutes; when I was there with the family (5 people), it usually took 30 minutes). The selection of food is okay so far. It's nice that the bistro is never full, usually 1/4 - 1/2 full. The taste of the food is okay so far. I find the plate size/portion size to be a bit smaller than in a Greek restaurant. The prices are (as of summer 2024) only slightly cheaper than in a Greek restaurant. The obligatory ouzo (which is on the house) is not served here, which is a shame! The bistro is well suited for those on a budget. I would give it a 3+ as a grade. Am I coming back? Yes!

Today we drove an extra 20 km there to eat gyros. It will be the last time. Unfortunately the price-performance ratio is not right. It's a takeaway with restaurant prices. We had gyros with rice for 9.90 euros. The portion is way too small and the meat was cold. I didn't get enough of it. We told the waiter and he wanted to pass it on to the kitchen staff. Nothing more came.

The best gyros in the last 25 years. It was super tasty. Top meat. Delicious fries, super tasty tzatziki. And the coleslaw was homemade. Add the fresh, thinly sliced ​​onions. Also ich war zur Reha in Bad Lippspringe und bin auf einen Sonntag Abend im Grill Athen gewesen und es hat sich gelohnt,ich hatte Gyros,Tzatziki, Pommes und Krautsalat und alles hat super lecker geschmeckt,die Größe der Portion war ordentlich ,der Service nett und freundlich und obwohl viel los war hatte ich nach 15 Min mein Essen auf dem Tisch.... Also Grill Athen kann ich jedem nur empfehlen ! PS: Heute ist Montag und morgenfrüh reise ich leider schon ab , schade das der Grill Athen Montags Ruhetag hat sonst wäre ich heute Abend zum Abschluss meiner Reha gern noch einmal dort essen gegangen...

Es hätte der perfekte Gyrosteller sein können. Gyrosfleisch war on point, knusprig, saftig, lecker. Nicht zu fettig. Dünn geschnittene Zwiebeln, Zaziki lecker und frisch.. Aber wir haben Pommes vom Vortag bekommen. Sie sahen lecker gewürzt aus, aber sie waren nur hart und alt.

Es hat uns sehr gut geschmeckt, nette Bedienung sehr zu empfehlen.

Habe dort am Wochenende die schlechteste Pita meines Lebens gegessen. Eigentlich sollte mann für 6 € wenigstens geschmacklich was erwarten können. Völlig geschmacklos, und die Portion war auch mehr als lächerlich. PS. Nehmt euch mal ein Beispiel an der Paderborner Konkurrenz, einen Namen will ich hier jetzt nicht nennen, denn dann kann mann gut und gerne 6€ nehmen.

Essen war lecker 😋 doch nach meiner Meinung etwas zu kleine Portion und die Preise zu hoch.

Das war einer der leckersten Pita die ich je gegessen habe, super knuspriges Brot. Ich habe mir noch einen Salat dazu bestellt weil im Pita selber sehr wenig drinne ist aber mit extra Salat ein Traum. Und dazu noch unfassbar günstig. Preis-Leistung ist wirklich richtig gut.

Sehr leckeres und aus meiner Sicht hochwertiges Essen. Das Ambiente im Aussenbereich/Biergarten ist trotz Lage an einer Hauptstrasse angenehm. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist in Ordnung. Leider mussten wir lange auf das Essen warten. Ich komme trotzdem mal wieder, wenn ich in Bad Lippspringe bin.

Seit über 10 Jahre gehe ich gerne dahin. Qualität lässt nicht nach und es schmeckt immer ausgezeichnet. Da merkt man das die Gerichte mit Liebe gemacht werden!

Freundliche Bedienung und wirklich lecker. Das Tsatsiki zur Vorspeise kann ich empfehlen. Die nähe an einer stärker befahrenen Straße hat uns etwas gestört weil wir draußen gegessen haben. Trotzdem werden wir wieder kommen wenn wir Mal wieder in der Nähe sind.
