It's not a gourmet restaurant, if you want to eat exclusively, this might not be the right place for you. But if you like classic Greek food, this is the right place. Everything actually tastes very, very good (except for the Greek noodles). One of the best Greeks I know, highly recommended :) The extremely friendly and courteous staff should be mentioned.

Unfortunately extremely expensive, taste average, unfortunately not suitable for vegetarians. Nowadays offering a meat dish and simply leaving out the animal without offering an alternative (at the same price)…. Not up to date anymore.

It tasted excellent. The service very good. The portions are plentiful in contrast to other Greeks. We'd love to come back. It's just not that easy with the parking lot.

The restaurant is visually in very good condition, the service was friendly and courteous. We were there on a Sunday evening and the restaurant was well attended but not completely overcrowded. Unfortunately the ouzo wasn't really cold. The food was very tasty and the price-performance ratio was right. One point is deducted because I simply missed the onions.

Unfriendly handling, average quality. The best part, however, was the waiter's demonstration. When I asked for mayonnaise for the fries, voila, he pulled it out of his pocket.... You can lose your appetite a little.

We had dinner there for the first time this evening. We really liked it, the food was great, the service was great, nothing to complain about.

We got a place quickly. Then our menus, which were strangely different. As an example, a dish was offered at €11 and €17. We suspect prices before Corona. The higher prices are of course the current ones. The starter salad was bland and with ready-made dressing. We always take gyros (test) the first time we visit a Greek restaurant. This is also not recommended. Meat not crispy, taste bad. Unfortunately, fries are also below standard. Luckily you can't go wrong with drinks, they were OK. All in all, I can't recommend the restaurant. Unfortunately, as with many restaurants, high prices and small portions. No thanks.

We stopped there on a spur of the moment Sunday evening. It was very busy but we got a table for two people even without a reservation. We liked the atmosphere, not the usual Greek style but very modern. Unfortunately, the food didn't blow us away. The gyro was not crispy but rather soft. The fries are normal average. The tzatziki also only tasted average. The cucumbers were no longer visible. The side salad actually only tasted good because of the dressing, which was probably already bought. A hefty price is charged for this. 17 euros was too expensive even for the manageable amount. On an old menu that was given to us by chance, the dish once cost 11 euros! The women's toilets are borderline. Cramped cabins with no space. The only way a woman could get dressed was in front of the cubicle at the sink.

We ate there for the first and last time today. Despite the restaurant not being full, we had to wait a long time for our food. In total we were looked after by 5 different waitresses. No organization. Food was mostly okay, although some of the meat was undercooked. Unfortunately, in response to our comment, there was only a cheeky comment from the service person. After asking four times, we were finally able to pay and leave after waiting 30 minutes. At these prices a no go these days!

Nice atmosphere, large menu with Greek delicacies, something for everyone. Many lamb specialties, highly recommended, fried to perfection. Service very courteous and friendly. You feel very welcome and in the holiday mood. The only point of criticism is the acoustics in the restaurant. After a certain time, the noise level is so high that it is very difficult to have a conversation at the table.

I had the pangasius fillet with rice. The fish was very tasty. The starter salad was also good. Nice atmosphere. Gladly again.

Also wir haben heute unser Essen dort bestellt haben vorher auf der Internetseite geschaut erstens passen die Preise gar nicht sollte man vielleicht mal die derzeitigen nachtragen. Als wir das essen abholen wollten traf uns fast der Schlag fast 50€ mehr als auf der Karte im Internet angegeben. Dann zuhause der nächste Schock ein Gericht hat komplett gefehlt wir angerufen wieder hin das fehlende Gericht abgeholt, dann wollte man dieses Gericht auch noch bezahlt haben obwohl es schon bezahlt wurde (habe zuhause mit der neuen karte extra alles zusammen gerechnet und das fehlende wurde mitgezahlt. Zum Essen die Portionen waren sehr klein und bei den schnitzel Gerichten fehlte zudem ausreichend Soße Geschmacklich war es ok aber nichts besonderes.

Das Restaurant am Stiftsberg in Herford, direkt neben der Kirche, bietet große Räumlichkeiten innen und außen mit vielen Sitzplätzen. Die Speisekarte ist typisch griechisch, aber doch mit einigen Raffinessen! Und jedes Gericht, das ich probiert habe, ist superlecker. Darum ist dieses Restaurant immer die erste Adresse, wenn wir in Herford essen gehen wollen. Die Mitarbeiter sind super nett, man wird jedes Mal wie ein alter Freund begrüßt. Und natürlich gibt es den obligatorischen Ouzo gratis zum Essen. Sehr zu empfehlen.

Hier ist man richtig, wenn man in einer schönen Atmosphäre gut essen möchte. Wir waren hier erstmalig mit 4 Personen essen. Tischreservierung ist notwendig. Die Speisekarte ist vielfältig und alle waren mit ihren Gerichten sehr zufrieden. Guter Service. Einzig das Parken ist hier sehr schwer. Es gibt Parkplätze direkt am Restaurant, aber man muss sich in der näheren Umgebung einen Parkplatz suchen

Ein nur zu empfehlendes Restaurant. Das Essen schmeckt großartig und wird super schnell zubereitet. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und immer hilfsbereit.

Der Tintenfisch ist echt außerordentlich lecker, der Rest auch soweit okay. Der Gyros überbacken hat leider superwenig Metaxasauce unterm Käse. Die Preise wurden in letzter Zeit inzwischen mehrfach ordentlich erhöht bei nicht überdurchschnittlichen Portionsgrößen. Ja, Inflation und gestiegene Preise verstehe ich, aber da wurden inzwischen mehrere Euros pro Gericht draufgepackt und das , obwohl die Gastronomie ja auch in 2023 immer noch mit 12% weniger Umsatzsteuer subventioniert wird. Dafür gibt es jetzt einen zweiten Ruhetag… Ansonsten gibt es einen schönen Außenbereich, aber auch innen ist die Einrichtung nett.

Immer wenn wir in Herford sind gehen wir gerne dort Essen. Sehr nette Bedienung und das Essen ist sehr gut.

Das Essen sehr gut und schmackhaft. Ein wunderschöner Biergarten mit schattigen Plätzen. Ideal bei der Hitze. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Sehr lecker...Große Portionen....Essen schnell und warm am Tisch.

Wir bekamen ohne Reservierung einen schönen Platz im Garten und wurden stark von der benachbarten Stiftskirche zu Pfingstsonntag beschallt. Essen war OK ich hatte eine Seniorenportion Gyros dazu einen kleinen Bauernsalat.

Sehr wechselhaft, mal super gut mit 5 Sternen, mal schlecht mit 1 Stern. Beim letzten Mal habe ich ein falsches Gericht bekommen. Mein Angebot das Gericht für etwas Preisnachlass trotzdem zu nehmen, wurde abgelehnt (nein, das essen wir selber). Ok, macht ja nichts, ich wollte euch nur gut. Das richtige Essen wurde dann nach ca. 15 Minuten serviert. Das Stifado kam vermutlich aus dem Gefrierschrank, unten in der Backform war es eiskalt. Da ich es schon fast komplett verzehrt hatte, habe ich mir die Reklamation gespart.

Essen war sehr lecker, genug Platz und geräuschkulisse angenehm. Preise aber etwas happig. Alles im allen aber zu empfehlen.

Essen war gut und Bedienung freundlich. Leider war es so eine starke Geräuschkulisse, dass man mit mehreren Personen kaum ein Wort von seinem Nachbarn verstand. Daher werden wir nicht wiederkommen. Es gibt andere Restaurants wo man gemütlicher und ruhiger sein Essen genießen kann.

Sehr schönes Ambiente innen; wirklich gemütlich. Essen ist eher normal und genau das, was man erwartet. Heißt man wird nicht enttäuscht, entdeckt aber auch nichts besonderes. Die Portionen fallen teilweise aber etwas schmal aus.

Traditionell griechisches Essen in einem tollen Ambiente. Aufgrund des leckeren Essens ist der Laden immer gut besucht, wobei ich bis jetzt immer einen Platz bekommen habe. Einen Stern Abzug gibt es für die eher kleinen Portionen und für den Aufpreis für Mayo etc.

Waren das erste mal hier.Ambiente richtig klasse. Preis Leistung passt auch sehr gut. Mitarbeiter und der Service wirklich klasse. Würden wir näher dran wohnen, wäre es wohl unser neues Lieblingsrestaurant.

Wenn nicht ab 20:30 Uhr am Tisch nebenan die Zigarette angezündet worden wäre, dann hätte das Essen ganz gut geschmeckt. Ambiente und Service lassen aber auch leider zu Wünschen übrig.

Ich kannte den "Kirchen-Griechen" in HF bisher nicht, weil ich nicht in HF wohne. Aber Essen hat gut geschmeckt und Service war unaufdringlich und nett. Es war allerdings für mein Empfinden ziemlich laut im Lokal.

My husband and I ate here on a trip from England to visit family in Herford. I've been once before and remembered enjoying it so wanted to come back. The website is easy to navigate and very informative, I found it really useful for planning our trip. We walked here so I can't comment on car parking facilities but I can say this is a nice short walk from the centre of Herford where we stayed. Inside, the decor is fantastic - traditional Greek style shutter mirrors, wooden beams, terracotta tiles and white walls, it's very tasteful and I felt like I'd stepped in to Greece! The interior is also super clean. The staff were all lovely - friendly and personable. I'm not sure if they are family but it felt like a family run business - eating with people who make you feel really welcome with no pretentious behaviour. The service was very efficient. We were pleased to be offered English menus and were given a shot (of Ouzo?) each to start. The starters were beautifully presented, large portions. My husband's prawns in tomato sauce with cheese were delicious! I didn't enjoy my starter of grilled peppers on garlic toasted bread however, this was my personal preference rather than there being anything wrong with the dish - I expected grilled bell peppers but instead it was green chilli peppers (I think ?) which I didn't like the taste of. Our mains (lamb steaks with herb butter, chicken steaks with wine sauce, mushrooms, tomato and feta) were again well presented, large portions. They were both exquisite, particularly the lamb which was cooked to perfection. The icing on the cake was the price (€48 for 2x 2 courses and 2 soft drinks) which I feel was more than reasonable! We enjoyed a wonderful meal here in beautiful surroundings with lovely staff. I would return in a heartbeat and would definitely recommend to others. Thank you

We tried this after a long day at work, maybe we were tired, however we all ordered a starter, and it was massive, and garlic overload. The meal we had was nice but the starters killed it. The second time far more wiser, we shared a starter, and then it was all very good. Portion control required at all times. Laid back, relaxed, yes a nice place to go for a meal.

We love this restaurant as it's on our doorstep, the food is really good Greek food. We struggle to finish each meal and end up with doggy bags. Very reasonable and great service.

I will dream of the food in this place forever, in fact I'd even make the trip all the way back from Ireland just to eat here again. Super atmosphere, great staff and EXCELLENT food. Loved, loved, loved it. My favourite meal ever.

If you want somewhere to get some decent food at a good price in a nice atmosphere for a couple or a small group this is a very good restaurant. Staff were friendly and helpful and the food was very tasty.

Inexpensive Greek restaurant, hidden away by the Stiftbergkirche. The owners are very friendly and offer suggestions when you're unsure of what you'd like.

I went here with a group of girl friends for a meal out. A group of six of us. If you like Greek food I guess you will like it! everyone did but me. I am not fussed on Greek food, and the menu didn't have much else to choose from. I had a starter of this bread dish with peppers and herbs etc on it - LOTS of Garlic and oil - didn't like this, however another friend did enjoy it. For the main course I choose a salad from the starter menu - it was a chicken salad - the chicken was nice LOTS of tomatoes - which I liked - however the salad was very basic as in the choice of salad leaves used. I wouldn't go back again as it didn't really suit my taste.
