Essen war schmackhaft. Service war gut.

Das Essen war hervorragend, der Service diskret, aber aufmerksam – wir hatten einen sehr, sehr angenehmen Abend.

Foie Gras ist bestialische Tierquälerei: Zwangsernährung der Gänse und Enten mit Metall Rohr in den Rachen, ob‘s blutet ist den Verantwortlichen egal, und das für maximal 10 Minuten verfettete Leber essen? Ihr seid widerlich.

Ein teures Restaurant mit klassischen französischen Gerichten in schöner Lage. Bei gutem Wetter lädt die Terrasse zum Verweilen ein. Das Essen ist im Allgemeinen in Ordnung, aber nicht herausragend – beispielsweise schmeckte das Pfifferlingrisotto vorgekocht und die Pilze wurden erst spät hinzugefügt, da der Reis selbst keinen erkennbaren Pilzgeschmack hatte. Die Erdbeeren im Dessert waren ein süßliches Konfit, und die Mascarponecreme war seltsam grob und unappetitlich aufgetragen. Die Gerichte wirken oft aufwendig (Trüffel etc.), rechtfertigen aber in keiner Weise den exorbitanten Preis. Schlimmer noch: Zwei Mitglieder unserer Gruppe hatten anschließend Magenschmerzen und Übelkeit. Wir waren begeistert vom überaus freundlichen und engagierten Service, aber das Restaurant ist stark unterbesetzt, was zu Wartezeiten und Fehlern führt (z. B. erhielt einer unserer Gäste seine Vorspeise nicht; später wurde eine Getränkebestellung vergessen).

Absoluter Megahammer vom Service bis zum Essen, alles einsame Spitzenklasse !!!

Was für ein fantastischer Ort! Das Essen war absolut erstklassig – ich hatte das Spezialmenü mit Pfifferlingen in verschiedenen Variationen. Alles war einfach perfekt. Die Kellner waren unglaublich freundlich und sehr aufmerksam. Wahrscheinlich das beste Abendessen seit Langem.

Die Trüffelpasta war köstlich, die Portion allerdings etwas zu groß, was aber nicht weiter schlimm war. Die Garnelen waren frisch und gut zubereitet. Der Service war freundlich, aber nicht optimal, jedoch nicht unhöflich.

Hierher gelangen Sie, wenn Sie frauenfeindliches Verhalten erleben möchten.

Gehobenes, gehobenes Restaurant mit französischer Küche. Gute Auswahl an Speisen. Das Abendessen war lecker. Das Ambiente war für meinen Geschmack etwas steif und förmlich, was aber den hohen Preis erklärt. Für ein romantisches Abendessen, einen besonderen Anlass oder ein schickes Familientreffen mit ruhigen Gästen ist es gut geeignet. Für ein ungezwungenes Abendessen eher weniger.

Schöne Atmosphäre direkt am Savigny Platz. Mit etwas Phantasie kann man sich direkt nach Paris träumen. Das Essen und der Service waren auch sehr gut. Die Preise sind etwas am oberen Ende im Vergleich zu vielen Restaurants.

Es war gut, aber nicht herausragend. Wir bestellten Austern, Hummersuppe, Jakobsmuschel-Ceviche und Foie gras. Austern sind eigentlich immer gut, die Suppe war etwas zu salzig, die Jakobsmuscheln waren köstlich, die Foie gras wirkte eher gefroren als frisch, da sie recht fest war. Die Champagnerkarte war umfangreich, aber mit 18 € pro Glas recht teuer. Wir saßen draußen und wurden ständig von bettelnden Straßenmusikern belästigt.

Französische joie de vivre am Savignyplatz mitten in Berlin. Unglaublich guter Service, tolle Weine und sehr leckere Speisen runden die Erfahrung perfekt ab. Besonders Mittagessen kann man dort sehr gut 👍🏼 Wir gehen seit Jahren ins Grand Café - Saint German und freuen uns jedes Mal wieder, dort zu sein!

Wie ein kleiner Ausflug nach Frankreich – mitten in Berlin. Ein wunderschönes, gemütliches Restaurant mit exzellenter Küche, herzlichem Service und einer Atmosphäre zum Wohlfühlen, die für ein paar Stunden den Trubel der Großstadt und alle Sorgen vergessen lässt. Danke!

Versuche, immer wenn ich ein paar Tage in B bin, dort zu essen. Ist zwar teuer aber dafür immer lecker und gute Produkte werden verarbeitet, das hat halt seinen Preis. Ich würde mir ein Menü wünschen, wo die Portionen entsprechend angepasst sind. So bleibt es nur bei einem Hauptgang. Und...es ist eines der wenigen Restaurants, bzw. das einzige bisher, wo es ein vernünftiges Risotto gibt...jedenfalls von denen, die ich besucht habe, ob Paris, Rom oder quer durch Deutschland... Das Personal ist immer freundlich, kompetent und nicht aufdringlich.

Wir hatten ein fantastisches Abendessen. Wunderschön zubereitete französische Küche. Herrliche Weine und eine überaus freundliche Bedienung. Salat Niçoise und Lachstatar, aber auch Steak, Muscheln und Risotto. Alles köstlich zubereitet. Tolles Ambiente.

Hervorragende französische Küche am Savignyplatz. Die Gerichte und Zutaten sind authentisch. Das Ambiente ist sehr gemütlich, urig mit einem modernen Touch. Der Service hat uns ebenfalls gut gefallen. Klare Empfehlung! Tipp: Es gibt eine tolle Mittagskarte mit französischen Klassikern zu erschwinglichen Preisen.

Hätte hübsch werden können, aber leider entspricht das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis nicht dem Service. Preis hoch, Service schlecht. Hauptspeise war 5 Minuten nach Bestellung angeblich nicht umzubestellen ( Bratwurst / hier Mergez / Pommes / mit Salat 25€ ) gegen Tatar mit pochiertem Ei und Kaviar 24€) , obwohl eine Vorspeise noch nicht serviert wurde. Das würde bedeuten, die Wurst und die Pommes lägen schon 30 Minuten vor Verzehr bereit oder stopft der Küchenchef die Wurst frisch selber. Na eher ein Laufkundenladen für Touristen, da gib es professionellere echte Franzosen in Berlin.

Wow, voll der Überflieger. Immer an dem laden vorbei gelaufen und gedacht Tourischuppen. Nein es gibt kaum ein französisches Restaurant in Berlin was meiner Vorstellung und Erfahrung von einem französischen Restaurant näher kommt als das Saint Germain. Klasse, jeder Euro den wir ausgaben war sein Geld wert.Der Service einfach angenehmst. Man kann sich als Gast nur bedanken.

Bei der Produktion von Foie gras leiden die Tiere oft unter schweren körperlichen Schäden. Durch die Zwangsfütterung kommt es häufig zu Verletzungen im Rachen und in der Speiseröhre, außerdem zu Schmerzen, Atemproblemen und einer krankhaft vergrößerten, funktionsgestörten Leber. Die Tiere erleben starken Stress, können sich kaum normal bewegen und entwickeln schwere gesundheitliche Probleme, kurz bevor sie an diesen sterben, werden sie geschlachtet. Für mich ist es schwer nachvollziehbar, warum ein Restaurant ein Produkt anbieten sollte, das mit solchem Tierleid verbunden ist. Jeder Mensch der dies unterstützt macht sich der Tierquälerei schuldig.

Welch ein wunderbarer Abend! 6 von 5 Sternen❣️ Das Ambiente ist Savignyplatz pur mit (natürlich) französischem Flair. „Unser“ Sascha war mehr Gastgeber als Kellner. Kundig, zuvorkommend aber nicht aufdringlich. Speis und Trank waren traumhaft (mein Geheimtipp: Tataki vom Rind❤️). Champagner und Wein? Einfach vom Personal empfehlen lassen.

Guter Service und authentische französische Gourmetküche

Wie immer tolles Essen, aber diesmal wäre ich fast an einem Lorbeerblatt erstickt, das der Koch nicht aus der Zwiebelsuppe entfernt hatte. Lorbeerblätter müssen genau aus diesem Grund ENTFERNT werden, das sollte jeder Koch wissen! Eine Suppe kaut man ja nicht und schluckt diese nur, deshalb ist es ganz gefährlich, wenn da so ein hartes Blatt drin ist, das in der Speiseröhre stecken bleiben kann. Unter den ganzen Zwiebeln sieht man sowas auch nicht. Deshalb bei Zwiebelsuppe: Lorbeerblätter und andere feste Gewürze in ein Gewürzsäckchen geben und nach dem Kochen herausnehmen! Aber nicht nur bei Zwiebelsuppe, generell sollten feste Gewürze IMMER entfernt werden. Der Service war wie immer äußert freundlich und familiär. Das Essen ist wirklich stets herausragend -- für mich der beste Franzose in Berlin. MIch hat das gestern nur mit dem Lorbeerblatt extrem geärgert. Das danach servierte Rumpsteak mit Zwiebelconfit war äußerst zart, fast wie ein Filet.

Im Jahr 2026 immer noch Stopfleber anzubieten, ist einfach unmöglich. Bitte diese Tierquälerei nicht unterstützen, bitte nicht dorthin gehen!

Hier wird immer noch foie Gras serviert, obwohl schon mehrmals Tierschützer vor dem Restaurant darüber informiert haben, wie grausam die Gänse gehalten und zwangsernährt werden. In Deutschland ist diese Praktik längst verboten. Ich verstehe nicht, wie man als renomiertes Restaurant an einem solchen Tierqualprodukt festhalten kann.

Top Food, tolle Atmosphäre. Perfekter Service

Total schönes Ambiente. Toll dekoriert aber schön dezent. Man fühlt sich sehr willkommen auch mit Kleinkind. Hervorragender Service. Hervorragendes Essen. Definitiv eines unserer Lieblingsrestaurants. Alles in allem einfach nur HERVORRAGEND!!

First-class French cuisine; the frog legs were better than in France, simply divine. This was followed by braised ox cheeks that were second to none. The service staff were superb and truly skilled. You feel like a valued guest! Highly recommended! Highly addictive…

This is one of the last restaurants still offering foie gras on its menu. Foie gras is a product of cruel animal abuse, for which geese and ducks are mistreated and tortured in the most gruesome ways throughout their lives. It is not without reason that the production of foie gras is banned in many countries, including Germany. The "production" of foie gras is so cruel that it is prohibited in almost all EU countries. Only France, Spain, Hungary, Bulgaria, and parts of Belgium still produce it. Production is also banned in Argentina, India, Israel, Australia, California, Turkey, and New York. This cruel product is produced by force-feeding geese and ducks, causing their livers to swell to up to ten times their normal weight. The force-feeding of the animals begins when they are 8 to 10 weeks old and lasts for 12 to 21 days. Every day, a tube is forcibly inserted into the birds' esophagus, through which 800 to 1,000 grams of corn mash are pumped into their stomachs. To put that in perspective, that's equivalent to eating 15 kilograms of spaghetti a day. Side effects of force-feeding include respiratory distress, neck injuries, broken bones, liver bleeding, and heart failure. The birds are killed shortly before they would die from the effects of the force-feeding. Many succumb to the severe injuries and strain beforehand. The mortality rate for animals on foie gras farms is up to 20 times higher than that of animals raised under normal living conditions. More and more restaurants, Michelin-starred chefs, shops, and online stores are opting for animal-friendly alternatives to foie gras. In France, too, a growing number of consumers are rejecting this cruel product. Several cities, including Grenoble and Strasbourg, have announced that they will no longer serve foie gras at official city events. Unfortunately, Grand Cafe - Saint Germain is not among them.

Update 31.10.25 Yesterday evening we were at the restaurant, and it was perfect! The service, the food, and the ambiance were ideal for a lovely evening. We will definitely be back. I especially appreciated that the Halloween children weren't turned away but were instead offered candy. We were there for lunch. The daily specials included boiled beef in broth and beef ragout with noodles. Both dishes were excellently prepared and served by very friendly staff. We will eat there again on our next visit to Berlin. Thank you for the pleasant experience.

The food was fantastic, a culinary experience for the palate, and the ambiance was perfect for fine dining. And ultimately, Sascha served us superbly, looked after us, and entertained us. Thank you for this wonderful evening, we'd love to come back.

The food is good. We have an excellent lobster soup. But i think it’s globally a bit overpriced. Wine list is good. Especially the Chateau Tracy but they need more craft cognac and spirits.

I came here on for my mother’s birthday and left highly disappointed. While the restaurant looks nice, the service was simply disrespectful. I wasn’t happy with the dish, but when I mentioned this, the waiter/chef brushed me off and said, “That’s what our customers who go to St. Tropez and Mykonos like, better you don’t order it next time.” I felt completely belittled, as if it was my fault for not liking the dish. On top of that, nothing was done for my mother’s birthday. Not even a small acknowledgment. For a place that presents itself as fine dining, this lack of respect and hospitality is unacceptable. The food may be good, but the attitude ruins the whole experience.

Absolutely. The only difficult thing is holding a conversation when you're sitting outside and have to talk to the elevated train.

The bouillabaisse was of an extremely high quality. The staff are very attentive and the wine selection is exquisite. However, there was some variation in the quality of our whiskey and gin sours. The second serving of bouillabaisse was warm, not hot. I will certainly return to Berlin in the future and I am confident that the experience will be perfect.

The pasta was just brilliant. The beef slices were tender and well seasoned. Somewhat pricey but is within what you would expect from a proper French restaurant. I ordered from the lunch menu.

Das Lunchangebot war gut. Der Backfisch mit dem Kartoffel/Gurken Salat hat uns gefallen. Der Kir war viel zu süß. Das ist einem französischen Restaurant nicht würdig.

In summer, this French restaurant on Savignyplatz makes you feel like you're on holiday thanks to the great terrace and ambience. It is highly recommended for birthdays and similar celebrations. The food was fantastic: starting with the bread with an incredibly delicious truffle cream, through the oysters to the veal cheeks with savoy cabbage and mashed potatoes. The service was very attentive and friendly. Absolute recommendation!

I love this restaurant! The dishes are at the highest level of taste! French - original, fantastically tasty, fresh... a dream! I'm thrilled every time, whether it's the dessert, the tartare, the oysters, the fillet steak or the salads, cheers to the chef! Really outstanding! Some waiters are native speakers and speak French to guests, and are charming and extremely friendly, but not intrusive. Large and fine selection of very good wines. The ambience is also particularly appealing, it is located on Savignyplatz, you have a very large terrace, you sit outside at finely and tastefully set tables with white tablecloths, the audience is select and pleasant, although reservations are recommended as this restaurant is usually fully booked. You can also eat very well here at lunchtime. We have been coming here for many years and look forward to all future visits! 🤩🥳

Beautiful day out in Berlin and this cafe has plenty of outside seating in the sun. Quaint tables with white table cloths. My group and I ordered the same Caesar salad with different protein and it was very good, great sauce and overall creamy and flavorful. As far as service goes they were okay throughout even though we had to get our own pepper and salt so as far as attentiveness goes it wasn’t that great. When we got the check for getrennt/split I accidentally pressed 2 cents instead of 2 euro for tip. The waitress made a smug comment about it as I told her it was an accident due to my long finger nail. I left her actual change instead. Tip is always Optional and the server shouldn’t shame or comment on the customer for an accident. Menu items are slightly on the pricier side so would not return if the service doesn’t Reflect the price tag or the overall ambience.

Tasty, but price/quality not in proportion. Bottle of water 9 euros! Unsympathetic and harried staff who work on a commission basis (minimum 15% tip on the ATM!). In summary, the food was delicious, but no effort was made to please the customer.

I always thought of the restaurant as a tourist trap and was therefore pleasantly surprised when I received steak frites on my first visit. The steak was served wonderfully medium to medium rare, very well seasoned, with delicious French fries, salad and homemade hollandaise. The price was also very fair at €25. Because of the nice weather, the terrace was packed and the seating was too small, but inside it was very pleasant with a shimmering atmosphere. I have to deduct a point because both the full cola at €5 and the espresso (more like: ristretto) at €4 are already steeply priced

I don't understand the positive reviews. My bouillabaisse was the worst I've eaten in my life: sour, the fish wasn't fresh, mussels were rock hard and dark. It definitely wasn't fresh (I'm extremely knowledgeable about French cuisine). The bread was cold and some of it was still frozen. Very bad and disappointing. Never again!

We went to the Grand Cafe Saint Germain with friends and had a wonderful evening. As soon as you enter the restaurant you can feel the pleasant atmosphere. The patron of the house is very friendly and gave us a suitable wine recommendation straight away. The food was excellent and of very good quality. Every course was a pleasure. The wine selection is also impressive and leaves nothing to be desired. If you want, you can also order a delicious cocktail. The service was very attentive and very friendly throughout the evening. You really felt welcome. In summer it is of course nice to sit outside on the terrace. But inside, where we sat, it is also very comfortable. We sat on the comfortable bench and felt very comfortable. The Grand Cafe Saint Germain is a place where you can feel completely at home. We would love to come back!

Went for the new year's menu. One dish was excellent the rest was either ok or bad. The little side cake dessert was so rock-hard that it kept slipping away every time I tried to cut it. Unbelievable for a menu at this price. To me it was definitely not worth it.

I need more stars to rate this restaurant. Classy, demure, classic French cuisine, often simple but perfectly executed. You will not be disappointed.

I had an excellent Christmas lunch there. Nice place and great food. The wine is also good. The only flaw was a very rude waiter who, without saying anything, didn't bring me the change of €18 out of a total expense of €232 for two people. I intended to leave a €5 tip and so I did. But first I had to call the waiter and tell him that he had to bring me the change. At that point he was very rude, speaking badly to his colleagues and acting offended, saying that I had to take back the €5 tip.

The male staff is unfriendly I visited to get in the mood for Christmas. The atmosphere wasn't bad, but the tables were too cramped. The dessert wasn't that great, but the bread and food overall tasted good. Maybe it's because it's a French restaurant, but like in France, a bottle of water costs 9 euros ^^ **I thought the staff was gentle, but they weren't. I paid 232 euros for the meal, so I gave 250 euros in cash. The staff took the money and then came back with a receipt and said something, but I didn't know that he was asking how much the tip was. Anyway, I didn't bring any change, so I asked again, and since tip wasn't included, I brought 18 euros and the person I went with gave me a 5 euro tip, so I refused and said I wouldn't take it. ^^ And as I was leaving to use the restroom, I saw everyone arguing with another co-worker about tips^^ I didn't even pay a small amount, but the 18 euro tip is a joke? The location is not good, so Koreans should not go there.

A VERY commercial French face in a heart of Charlottenburg. Very expensive, but quality is at least consisted. Service is nothing more than business-polite, but that is enough. Been here a few times. Food always tastes good. Open wine quality varies, I guess sometimes you get a leftover bottle. Overall good, but prepare to pay a lot. There are better, cozier, less “mass-oriented” French places, but this one is always there if we just want some stably French food. And it is also open all day, and not only dinner.

You can sit, eat and drink excellently here. The cuisine is great, the service is very attentive and the atmosphere is relaxed at a high level. We have already reserved the next appointment.

Es ist die „kleine Schwester“ des Belmondo…aber leider nach meinem Geschmack etwas zu sehr auf Kü-Damm nahe Kundschaft ausgerichtet. Der Service war sehr nett; aber gegen 22:30h wird die Küche offensichtlich am Samstag geschlossen , so dass keine Angebote zum Nachtisch oder gar Café abgegeben wurden. Schade, da die Lage und das Ambiente wirklich gelungen ist Vielleicht haben wir auch nur etwas Pech gehabt…und abhängig davon, lässt sich hier ein schöner Abend erleben.

We visited the restaurant twice and were impressed both times. We would particularly like to highlight the bouillabaisse and the lightly seared steak tartare. We also had a fantastic crémant. All of this was accompanied by a very friendly, never aloof service. We felt very comfortable!

Excellent spot for a delicious French dinner with on point selection of all time classics and some more modern creations. If you love a perfectly cooked medium rare “filet de boef” this is your spot. Also, if you love truffles they got your back ;-)

French restaurant with very attentive service and a menu that leaves nothing to be desired. The wine list lacks a bit of innovation, but the right accompaniment is quickly found. We always go home satisfied and look forward to the next visit.
