Contrary to the reviews, the food was honestly not that good. The atmosphere is not bad

Very good food, great service. They made a special meal for my daughter, and it was the best french fries ever with a very tasty grilled chicken.

I was there with colleagues from work and right at the beginning I pointed out to our waitress that I had gluten intolerance. Unfortunately, there are no allergens listed on the menu. That's why I had already chosen something beforehand so that I could ask right away whether the dish was gluten-free. Which according to the waitress was also gluten free. I can't say whether it's entirely true because I'm currently suffering from symptoms. However, the other restaurants we went to this week took the advice more seriously, so I tend to rule out the others. Of course, this could also be from the dessert (see below), although I tried to be careful. We ordered various starters for the table. Despite my advice, I had to ask again which foods I could safely eat. Unfortunately, the exact food I couldn't eat was in front of me and the others were further away, so I had to ask my colleagues. When it came to dessert, I didn't get any advice at all other than "you'll see about that" because we had the dessert platter to share. Unfortunately, in the end nothing on the plate was suitable for me as there were cookie crumbs scattered all over the plate as decoration. I was able to carefully take half a spoonful of each flavor of ice cream, but that only worked half the time. Whether this decoration should have been used for each of three plates ordered suggests to me that either my intolerance was not communicated to the kitchen, or the visual appearance was more important than the well-being of a single person in a large group. That gave an otherwise beautiful evening a bitter note. As someone without intolerance, you can definitely eat well here. As an allergy sufferer, especially someone with celiac disease, I can only advise against it based on my experience.

Wow! A piece of Paris in Berlin. Traditional but creative, chic but not aloof, simply delicious and cozy. The staff was also super nice. We'll be back!

Charged me twice saying the card was not accepted but in reality it was. Refused to give a copy of the invoice. Had to pay a third time. 75 euros meal ended up costing 225. Be careful when you go there when it comes to payments

Apparently a "better place" (judging by the prices, a glass of dry white wine for €14 is what we are used to but not in Central Europe) which we lunch hungry people hastily decided on....attracted by the white tablecloths. But put on account of the experiences in the city with surprises.

Cool, established restaurant, centrally located. Steak fries are probably standard for lunch. Recently had truffled scallop as carpaccio and the lobstersta. Both delicious. Priced higher, but worth the price. I was and am happy to be here.

It was SO good! Incredibly delicious and high-quality food, attentive, cheerful service and a great atmosphere outside, when the weather is nice. I really enjoyed the evening and now recommend the restaurant to others.

The service was absolutely attentive and just lovely. The food was well prepared, even though it could’ve been a little bite more. The 300g of lobster must’ve been weighted with the plate. It was delicious though. The wine selection is marvelous!

The food is really amazing. Every single dish was almost perfect. There was absolutely nothing to complain about. It's really nice to sit in and the service is good. I've been there twice now and absolutely loved it each time.

A really difficult assessment. On the one hand, really good service, drinks of a high standard. On the other hand, after very good oysters, I got a really borderline lobster. Specifically, cold lobster with cocktail sauce. I called the manager immediately after receiving the dish. Not because I wanted to be a stressful guest, but because I know a lot about lobsters. Unlike steak, the condition of the lobster is everything. Because the reasons why lobsters are so absurdly expensive lie in two simple truths: 1. They are not pack animals, they rarely mate and are difficult to breed in captivity and 2. They perish absurdly quickly as soon as they die. That's why these animals live as long as possible in good restaurants in aquariums. Once you kill a lobster, you only have a few hours until the meat becomes toxic. This brings us to the crux of the matter: how do we know a lobster is fresh and tasty? Through the consistency. Fresh lobsters are very firm in their flesh AND do not smell like fish. More like a sweet smell with carrot notes. Unfortunately, my lobster in this restaurant was rather mushy and smelled like fish. Not good. Disinfected it with cognac. There was nodding understanding from the restaurant manager, but no accommodation for the mistake.

Impolite waiter who didn't even thank us for the tip. He just grabbed the money and left. The Saint Emilion can be recommended though.

A great French restaurant. It doesn't actually get any better.

I love the salmon tartare in this restaurant, I don't know any better, absolutely top! But all the other dishes, as well as the breakfast menu, are also very, very tasty. Really good food and the service is super accommodating. The restaurant is worth a visit and the lunch menu offers inexpensive dishes that change daily. The steak frites at €20 and the duck breast at €16 are super fair and unbeatable.

Food excellent, drinks too expensive, glass of wine €16? Unfortunately that's not possible, a comparable glass of wine costs that in Finland or Sweden, but not in Frankfurt or Munich (with prohibition). This is a joke and significantly reduces the enjoyment.

Restaurant with excellent food, but service was very slow. The waiter was super friendly. Nice atmosphere but for the price of the dishes it could be renovated or a little more sophisticated. The cost is high but a great option for French food in Berlin. I intend to return.

We felt very comfortable, the service was great, the food was perfect. There were five of us and everyone, without exception, enjoyed it very much. We were there for the first time, certainly not the last time. Big recommendation. Thank you for the great hospitality.

Pretentious moronic waiters who haven’t moved with the times since the late 19th century. He arrogantly refused to serve me tap water (which country in the world refuses to serve water other than Germany?), but then proceeded to question as to why I wouldn’t leave him a tip. This put a bad taste in my mouth, and it definitely wasn’t the food. The service needs to move on with the 21st century

Very pleasant, cozy environment, super staff, helpful, communicative, cheerful. The food is delicious, the salmon with mashed potatoes is good, we tasted the duck liver pate for the first time, we liked it, it was worth trying, but maybe I wouldn't do it again, the bread snack with truffle spread is great. The cocktails are amazing

Good and very professional service. I have to say that the waiter Konstantin convinced me to keep coming back to my regular Frenchman. Cozy and warm welcome. The food speaks for itself anyway. Your gesture ensures a dignified ambience. We recommend.

Totally overpriced, service staff friendly but that's it, French cuisine, wine list = basic, ambience = doesn't correspond to the name St. Germain? If you like it, please, I'm very disappointed. Gault&Millaut, Michelin = rien!

A few weeks ago I visited this restaurant for the first time. Even though I initially found the price for the sole to be ambitious, in the end it was worth every cent in terms of taste. I deducted one star because the service staff were generally very friendly, but always only refilled the wine after asking for it. Still, it was a great experience.

Atmosphere and vibes over the food, although their asparagus was divine (seasonal). Great service.

Was eating here and was horrified to discover that foie gras and frog legs were sold here. How crazy is that? As long as something so backwards is on the menu, I won't set foot in Saint German again and can't recommend it to anyone else.

It's a shame about this actually beautifully located restaurant. I won't go there anymore. Yesterday my friends and I found out that they still serve foie gras and frog legs. 2024??? Uncreative and unimaginative if all you can think of is medieval food. Sad.:( Restaurants that really have something to offer in terms of cuisine, such as the Borchardt, the LeGrand, the Bostich, the Torbar and the Sucre et Sel, have long since recognized that the time for animal cruelty is over. The Grand Café Saint Germain is unfortunately a thing of the past arrested.

I really enjoy coming here for business lunch. The steak fries are excellent and, in my opinion, one of the best in Berlin. The service is always friendly and accommodating. I also find it pleasant that you can sit well both inside and outside. If you are looking for a lunch place where you can go with customers and business partners, you will find it there.

My friend from Berlin, my aunt and I met in your restaurant last week. The food was generally very good. However, my friend and aunt independently got food poisoning 2 hours after eating your fish soup. They hadn't seen each other before because my aunt and I are Austrian. This means you haven't eaten anything else at the same time and infection can also be ruled out in this case. You both just consumed the same fish soup in your restaurant. I ate another dish and had no complaints. So it is very clear that the poisoning came from the soup. They lay flat all night with fever and severe gastrointestinal problems. Something like that shouldn't happen in a restaurant in this price range with a bill of €190!!!

In our opinion the best food around Savigny and one of the best French restaurants in Berlin. Mix of Tartare starter was fantastic, Risotto with scallops awesome and meat perfect.

The Grand Cafe Saint Germain on Savignyplatz in Berlin-Charlottenburg serves French cuisine and very good wines from French wineries. I like the seafood best with very fresh salad or light vegetables, with a glass of white wine. Bonne vie pour un moment. After that the normal world can have me back.

Very tasty food but not a bargain

I ate asparagus and was happy to try it here. Unfortunately it had two different cooking points - a shame ☹️ Let's see, maybe it will be better next time.

We celebrated our 11th wedding anniversary at the Grand Café Restaurant on Savignyplatz in Berlin and were absolutely thrilled. The evening was wonderful - we felt like we were in Paris, only better. Our waiter, Konstantin, made the evening very special with his courteous and funny manner. We are grateful for this unforgettable evening and can only warmly recommend the restaurant. 5 Stars!

The four of us spent a wonderful evening in the Grand Café. The food was "excellent", the waitress Konstantin was "a cracker" (always available, had a very good sense of humor and was the guarantee of a successful evening) and the kitchen forgave the faux pas that we didn't have an allergy We mentioned beforehand and then brought us another piece of meat so that no one had to leave the dining room hungry;-) Many thanks to the entire team!!!

Over salted steak. A Caesar salad like I have never tasted before and a sauce that you could stand a spoon in it . And very expensive.

First time I experienced this style of food. I’m Asian I have few ideas about French food. (Usually I ate touristic French food in French, or street food) I ordered lobster soup with a scallop. It was amazing to eat them together with the herbs in a single morsel. I also ordered salmon tartar. It tasted like Japanese food; however, there was a secret ingredient inside that I guess it was a fruit with a spice that worked as a surprise only for some morsels. My boyfriend ordered octopus. This one is incredible (I have tried). As a Thai, I’m familiar with complex flavors in a single dish and usually European food is not complex at all. This one consists of many flavors, more importantly, it’s tasty. I ordered the crape on fires as a dessert. Again it is amazing eating all components in one morsel including the fresh mints. One of my good food experiences and worth money spent.

The staff ignored us for half an hour and forgot to bring half our order. They did not forget to charge us for the forgotten items and took another ten minutes to correct the invoice. All while there were about 7 guests to be served in the restaurant.

One of my favourite restaurants in Berlin… The French cuisine is really good. I would recommend the Caesar salad or salmon with different sides, such as the mixed vegetables, broccoli or potato fries… The atmosphere is very nice and cozy.

The truffle risotto is really, really, really delicious.

A great atmosphere with EXCELLENT food and great service. If you are looking for something fine (even more expensive), you will find it here. The pictures speak for themselves. We will be back!

Unfortunately I cannot agree with the high praise. The pasta of the week came with bland cubes of tuna that looked like it had just been thawed. The mousse au chocolat lacked the strong cocoa flavor and the airy, light consistency, as if the egg whites had not been successful. Unfortunately, the espresso also came across as if the operator wasn't the master of the portafilter machine. What was most annoying, however, was the waitress' reference to the price as an explanation of the quality.

I would never eat in a restaurant that sells frog legs and foie gras. What many people don't know is that parts of the production of these dishes are banned in Germany. Because the animals are cruelly mistreated.

Delicious menu Frog legs - the legs are chopped off alive. Duck foie gras - the animals are fattened through a hose/pipe with high-fat grain mash. The liver often swells to ten times its normal weight in just a few days. Many die before they even get to the butcher. People think about what misery you have on your plate.

Einfach legeeeendääär! Die französische Küche hat es uns angetan. Dank diesem Restaurant werden wir nur öfter französische Speisen genießen. Das Essen war absolut hochwertig und die Kellner einfach 1a. Alles in allem: Tres Bien Wir kommen wieder!

Eine großartige Entdeckung! Das Grand Cafè Saint Germain ist sowohl kulinarisch, als auch von der Freundlichkeit, Kompetenz der Mitarbeiter und dem herrlichen Ambiente eine Wohltat im Gegensatz zu vielen ach so "angesagten" Restaurants. Hier schlägt das Gourmet-Herz höher. Ich freue mich auf den nächsten Besuch! Bouillabaisse probieren!

Die Weinauswahl und das Essen sind hervorragend. Der Kellner war aufmerksam und bemüht, auf Nahrungsmittelunverträglichkeiten einzugehen. Das Ambiente leidet unter arroganten Gästen, die laut Videotelefonate führen und Youtube-Videos schauen und ohne Rücksicht auf der Terrasse rauchen. So etwas vermiest leider einen schönen Abend.
