Gourmet Tempel Duisburg in Duisburg

It's a shame; this was our favorite restaurant before the reopening. The food itself still tastes great. However, the rest of the food has deteriorated considerably. A 55-45 minute wait for the Mongolian buffet, which is what we actually come for, is definitely too long. The overall service also leaves a lot to be desired. We had to wait 15 minutes before anyone even took our drink order, not to mention the wait until we finally received it. Empty plates weren't cleared away at all, and reordering drinks was only possible after a long wait. The buffet was rarely or not refilled at all. When we wanted to pay, we had to find someone else who could do it, only to be directed to the entrance at the end, where someone might be standing. This makes us very sad. We used to enjoy coming here, but probably won't do so anymore.

I ate there for the first time today and was very satisfied with the food, sushi tasted great and also these juicy Maultaschen were brilliant as was the ice cream machine

Great location, a perfect blend of industrial and Chinese cuisine. The food is delicious, with a huge selection of sushi and hot dishes and a wide selection of desserts. The staff is very friendly. Dogs are very welcome, and we immediately provided water for our dog. It was impossible to try everything, so we'll have to come back. Thank you very much and keep up the good work. We had a really great time with you.

We were there with four people for Sunday lunch around 3:00 PM. The food was constantly replenished, and drinks were delivered quickly. The selection from appetizers to desserts was plentiful. The service was prompt and very friendly; this won't be our last visit.

We really enjoyed it. The food was very good and the selection was plentiful. We remembered the service from Gourmet Tempel. Once again, it was extremely friendly. Parking is right in front of the entrance. Seating is available outside.

Despite the new opening, the cutlery and dishes weren't really clean. The ambiance was very nice. The food was too expensive at €18.90. The duck was soggy, there was much less choice than before, no soft ice cream or whipped cream at lunch. No chocolate tree. Melo e wasn't ripe, the pineapple was sour with brown discoloration. The vanilla sauce was watery, and the jelly had a floury aftertaste. There are better places for the price.

The service is great, we visit at least once a week and feel comfortable, which is mainly due to the friendly service staff... the previous owners are missing... it was a bit like family... the ambiance is interesting... the food is delicious

The food and selection were good. The restaurant was nicely decorated. Service was good. Unfortunately, two large families were present, and their numerous children were helping themselves to the buffet unsupervised. And they were only using their fingers. Furthermore, the children behaved as if they were at a playground. I wish the staff had intervened more.

Very modern, very tasty and would go back!

The food doesn't taste any better than other Asian buffets, in my opinion. The extra cost for drinks is a real letdown. And the selection at the buffet—whether sushi, hot meals, or dessert—isn't great. The parking situation is particularly bad. If it's too crowded, you just won't get a spot.

The restaurant looks fantastic, and above all, it's very clean. You receive a friendly welcome, and we were able to choose our own table. There's a lot on offer; it's worth mentioning that there's a good selection for kids, with a sweets corner featuring Smurfs, sour worms, cherries, Coke bottles, etc. The soft-serve ice cream machine and regular ice cream were also highlights. The food had a very good selection, but the description said there were various soups, but there was only Peking soup. Unfortunately, there weren't any particularly hot dishes here...some of them were very cold...unfortunately. Sushi isn't my thing, but it looked appetizing. There were plenty of ingredients to put together for the grill, and they were fresh too. You could fill your stomach with plenty of desserts...there was also a chocolate fountain as well as plenty of fresh fruit and cake...in conclusion, I'd rather have the fried potatoes...beans wrapped in bacon...cold sweet potato fries...skipping the cold mushrooms stuffed with cheese would be a better option, focusing more on the Chinese dishes which are also hot or served warm...the restaurant was pretty empty even on a Sunday around 1 p.m.

Good food, but unfortunately overcrowded on weekends, so you have to wait forever for drinks and grilled food. It's a shame that it's very expensive and you have to pay for drinks separately. The quality of the food is absolutely excellent, and everything I tried was delicious.

A nice restaurant. Nice staff who helped us. We had made a reservation online but apparently they don't do that anymore, luckily we still got a place. Food was good. Lots of dessert choices. Few parking spaces and very noisy.

The renovation took some time, but it turned out very nice. We went to Gourmet Tempel quite often. I went there with my mother for lunch. There was a variety of dishes, but I was a bit disappointed. The shrimp still had their intestines...a no-go. Also, some bowls were empty, even though there weren't many customers. You had to wait about 15 minutes for refills. I also think the price of the buffet was excessive for what was offered at lunch. The staff were very friendly.

This "Pan-Asian" money-making machine, which—like many others—heats up completely Germanized, "freshly prepared" Asian specialties made from long-frozen ingredients, is exactly what the average German imagines when he hears the name and often applauds enthusiastically. The fact that it also comes with poorly fried, mushy pieces of potato is all the more pleasing to the typical rice-hater. It's a good thing he's not being served authentic Asian food – he'd never show up here again... The hot dishes, often only lukewarm, are offered as an "all-you-can-eat" package at prices that would be reasonable for normal restaurant service. You can also indulge in cheap soup, simple appetizers and salads, other overly salty, thirst-inducing delicacies, and freshly opened canned fruit, as well as tiny baked goods and water-and-milk ice cream-like treats with a delicate, crystalline consistency... Finally, the bill, which inevitably comes with a large amount of drinks – some of which cost almost 10 times the purchase price – is accepted without protest. Yes, it was a lovely evening, huddled closely with other gourmets at the buffet, in a visually modernized Synto factory hall with decor that would heartwarm any lover of fairy lights. He'll be back. I won't. 🙄

When you enter the restaurant something immediately catches your eye. There's a flyer saying: Give us 5 stars and you'll get a 5 Euro voucher, ......!!!!!! WHAT???? Do they want to buy "good reviews" ??? Not going to do it for me. Well, the two of us went in and found a table. It wasn't that difficult, there were plenty of free seats. Service came after about 5 minutes and we ordered drinks. We were then left on the table in a somewhat listless manner. Then we went to the buffet. Peking goulash soup was terrible, tasted kind of weird. The buffet itself was okay, all the hot dishes were tasty. The sushi and dessert were different again, not so good. We knew it was different from the previous restaurant (Gourmet Temple). No comparison at all. The noise level was also very loud, lots of small children "romping" around the shelves. The layout of the restaurant is also a bit strange, ... a cross between a Chinese restaurant and a mine canteen. Well, that's a matter of taste. Conclusion: For me, it's no comparison to the previous restaurant, and the price isn't right either. 18 euros for the lunch buffet. Mongolia in Dinslaken charges 15 euros. And again, what's completely unacceptable is the request to give 5 stars so you can eat 5 euros less next time!!!!!!!!

We went there for the first time today and were very disappointed compared to the old Gourmet Tempel restaurant. The food plates weren't refilled, the nightstand was mostly empty, and the noise was very disturbing. The Gourmet Tempel was our favorite restaurant. Very disappointed; I won't go there again. Upon leaving, they ask you to give a positive 5-star review, which would then cost you €5 less on your next visit. It's just sad that you have to buy positive reviews.

All show and substance! The restaurant has an organizational problem. - As is well known, it is the former "Gourmet-Tempel-Duisburg" restaurant, which reopened under its current name at the beginning of April 2025. - As can be seen on the website, the price for the all-you-can-eat lunch has increased from €14.xx to €17.60. The ambiance is pleasant. It exudes a sense of high quality, exclusivity, and refinement. Some of the dishes, especially the sushi, are certainly high-quality, BUT (!) as soon as the restaurant is only 50% full, the kitchen can't keep up... and numerous buffet items are empty for extended periods (30-45 minutes)! - This is my second time eating there. The first time (one week after reopening), it was only 15-20% full. NOW; Around 12:30 p.m., for the second time, there were many families there, and the restaurant was at about 40-50% capacity. - Conclusion: Kitchen overloaded / organizational problem! - See pictures (there was no food available at the empty spots)

Very stylish after the renovation, with a large selection and clean presentation. The restrooms are large and very clean. Service was very courteous, although we weren't asked for new drinks when the glasses were obviously empty.

The food and very service were great. The ambience is outstanding. However, I think the price of €29.90 in the evening for a pure all you can eat without drinks is too high. Either the price should be significantly reduced or switched to an all you can drink concept. The latter would be my clear favorite. So I probably won't come back. It's just not worth over €40 per person per evening to me. For example, I drink quite a lot with meals and with 4 cokes I was already at €47. Looking back, the evening wasn't worth nearly €47 to me. Therefore, we only consider all you can drink restaurants. It's a shame, because we love going out for Asian food regularly and this shop with All You Can Drink would definitely have been our favorite and new regular shop!

I went out to eat with my son on Mother's Day for the first time after the renovation, ownership and name change. Unfortunately it was very full and correspondingly loud. The food was still very tasty, but we got one too many drinks that we hadn't ordered and the still water in the glass tasted warm and like crane water, which was billed as still water. And what's not possible is FROG LEGS at the buffet - it's cruelty to animals. Please remove from the menu. Thanks

The buffet is very rich and there is something for everyone. For the large selection and quality, the price is completely reasonable. What was disturbing was the poor taste of the soy sauce and the overall very salty food.

The conversion was really very successful. The food was absolutely brilliant and was freshly replenished throughout, despite the high volume of food. The service was top notch! Especially on Mother's Day, when it was packed, the ladies and gentlemen outdid themselves. Really great and super friendly team. Always happy ❤️

Went there for the lunch buffet and for just under €18 per person without drinks there was little choice, 25% of 100% of the evening food buffet selection was available. Dishes are sometimes described incorrectly or it is not clear which type of meat or fish is available. Hair was visible in the salads. The ice chest was used several times by guests and the waiters were instructed several times to clean the ice ball container. (the water is no longer clean) I waited for more than 45 minutes and it wasn't cleaned, an older lady waitress there could only shout at the guests and swear with her hands in her position in front of the customers' eyes. Very unfriendly staff, the young lady almost felt threatened. Another ice cream machine was switched on on site and was not labeled to say that this use was not included in the lunch buffet. An attempt was also made to serve it, whereupon the waitress was personally attacked again with her hands raised: “What are you doing???” The customer felt threatened again and apologized for using the ice cream machine because it was available for use with the “lid open” without any notice that this was not included for lunch guests. A line came on and explained in a raised tone that customers would destroy this machine. A conversation about the need for explanation from the management and the customer could not be held because the management did not recognize the error. (the cream ice cream machine is NOT included in the price for lunch buffet customers)

Unfortunately, I found the food and service worse after the change than before.

Huge selection, food quite ok, service very friendly. But the hygiene regarding the brackets is terribly bad. Even the hint that the buffet clips and cutlery need to be washed remains completely ignored with a friendly smile. Once with the dirty rag over it and back into the basket. A reason for me not to come anymore.

Beautiful restaurant with very friendly service

We were there on Sunday shortly after 12. Food fresh and very tasty, our service staff very friendly and accommodating. Dessert includes a lot of cake. Only the atmosphere is too European modern for an Asian. But I mean, it's a buffet and not a "typical" Asian restaurant. But you can see relatively well that everything is very clean and well maintained. About the food itself: Large selection, everything very fresh and really very tasty. (Be careful, beef with pepperoni > So pleasantly spicy but the pepperoni are very, very hot :-D) In terms of price I don't think it's cheap BUT it's quite reasonable for what we were offered. 👍👍👍

I was greeted very nicely and had a free choice of table (Sunday afternoon). The employees were very attentive, friendly and answered questions competently, for example regarding the sauces for the teppanyaki. The selection at the buffet is very good. Visually, sushi looks very good; But I didn't try it because I'm not a fan of it. All the areas I saw seemed very clean and well maintained. I think the price-performance ratio is good. Of course there are also ready-made products (e.g. at the dessert buffet...), but even "picky guests" like me (fresh ingredients if possible, good quality...) will find plenty of choice at the buffet. Very nice atmosphere. The counters with the food are really impressive. The food looks fresh and appetizing. Will be replenished quickly enough. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. There are unusual types of meat, lots of fish and seafood, sushi, mussels and of course standard Chinese dishes. There is also life cooking. There are free parking spaces in front of the door. There is also an outdoor terrace.

I enjoyed being there before the renovation. Waited a long time for this and was very disappointed. No drinks menu or cocktails 2 weeks after opening. Glasses and cutlery dirty. Food didn't look particularly fresh either. It's rare that I haven't gone home full from an all-you-can-eat Chinese restaurant.

Ruhrstern is a truly outstanding restaurant. So far the biggest buffet I've ever seen. An incredible selection of meat, fish, sushi, desserts and much more. The staff is super friendly and super on point. I think the ambience is great for the size of the restaurant and the furnishings are modern and really chic. So it was very good looking and the service was very nice. The food 10/10, lots of choice. For everyone who likes dessert, there is soft ice cream with strawberry sauce and chocolate sauce and a large selection of fruit and cakes/tarts. then the look, the chairs are comfortable and there are benches and it is really beautifully modern furnished. We'd love to come back.
