Goldalm in Wuppertal

Het was helemaal vol of gereserveerd en toch vonden ze een tafel voor vier. Het zou even duren maar drankjes kwamen snel en het diner kwam ook verrassend vlot. Heerlijke gerechten en ook de desserts waren im de lippen bij af te likken. Lof voor de bediening in Goldalm.

We had breakfast there today. It was full and unfortunately there is only one chef there who unfortunately wasn't able to refill the bacon and scrambled eggs in a timely manner. Isn't worth the money. It's a shame, because the atmosphere is very nice.

Delicious food and friendly and attentive staff

If we could rate a restaurant without stars, it would be this one. We three friends ordered three small beers and two glasses of regular tap water and paid the bill for 20 euros. When we asked why the bill was so high he said that the water he brought us in a glass cost 3e! Embarrassing 👎🏻

Very attentive and accommodating & really friendly. I can recommend the Goldalm with a clear conscience. This text is addressed to the unfriendly waiter who met us on October 7th. served around 5 p.m.! No hello, no goodbye, no please, no thank you!! He must have done a pretty good job hiring a service person :) When the order was accepted, the reluctant gentleman sat down with his bottom on the table, very suggestively 👍 Well, the scenario then continued with the endlessly long order taking process. I asked in a friendly and nice way 3 times for mayonnaise, which is normal when I have 3 fries!? Then our food came... Mayo came once... While I wanted to ask the waiter again for more mayo... he left in a relaxed manner... This waiter is so arrogant!!! Then he came back and said to me in an arrogance “I heard something about ketchup”… And throw the things on the table! When I asked him a second time whether I was finally getting my mayo, he seriously dared to say, “You’ll say that soon, yes???” Such disgusting behavior, such arrogant arrogance, has no place in public! Never again Goldalm! The whole evening was messed up!! I'm just going to Düsseldorf! Poor!

The table that was ordered on Saturday at 5 p.m. could easily be moved outside. Onion roast, Goldalmpfanne, pineapple spritzer and non-alcoholic wheat were very good. Portions a bit small, unfortunately the dishes were no longer hot when they arrived, but the meat was of good quality and tasty. The service, which was exclusively young, was unfortunately slow, with only one person on the road until around 6 p.m. And although we are not bourgeois, but were born in the 60s, we find it strange to be ignored by staff who are more than half our age :-) Toilets in the basement were great! Recommended!!

Even if I understand that a restaurant has operating costs such as rent, staff and electricity and that the increased VAT plays a role, it is incomprehensible to me to charge 3 euros or more for an espresso. From my own experience in the catering industry, where I paid 38,000 DM for a portafilter machine decades ago (that would be well over 20,000 euros today, adjusted for inflation), you can see that such machines are now available for a fraction of the price. In addition, a kilo of espresso beans costs on average around 16 euros, which at 7-8 grams per cup corresponds to a production price of around 13 cents. Although the cost of machines and beans has fallen, such prices are charged for an espresso. Therefore, I cannot take a restaurant that charges 3 euros or more for a simple espresso seriously and - unfortunately - I will not visit it again. Independently of: Enjoy your meal. I think the shop is very nice, but paying 9 euros for the chocolate dream and getting a mini chocolate muffin that is smaller than a round cookie 🍪 is really shameful. Really very shocking and bold.

Went here with our family for a late lunch. Conveniently, there is a lunch menu that is valid until 5 p.m. We had the currywurst and the tarte flambée. There was also homemade iced tea. The food was excellent and the service was also very good and friendly. We sat outside. You're sitting in a not so nice pedestrian zone in the city center, but the outside area of ​​the restaurant is so well decorated that it's a nice atmosphere. The seating is a bit uncomfortable because the seat and table heights are unfavorably matched. For us, the Goldalm is a real insider tip in downtown Wuppertal. We cannot understand the existing bad reviews. Luckily we didn't let that stop us. If we are in Wuppertal again, we will definitely like to stop here again.

We spontaneously decided to have breakfast here on a Saturday morning after strolling through the city for a while and looking for a nice place. We received an extremely friendly welcome. The outside area looked inviting. The interior itself was beautifully decorated, warm colors, large dining room, but also small corners where you could sit down comfortably. At first we weren't sure whether we should stay, but we were given the time to look at the buffet to decide whether it was something for us. We opted for the breakfast buffet, which costs around €18.90 per person. Filter coffee and various juices are included here. Other coffee specialties available for an additional charge. The buffet itself had a nice selection and left nothing to be desired. There were various bread specialties, sweet pastries and various yoghurts as well as fresh fruit. There was a nice selection of sausages, cheese and small desserts. Jam, sweet spreads as well as muesli and milk alternatives were also available. The coffee also tastes good. The service was incredibly friendly and accommodating. We were treated appropriately and made us feel comfortable at all times. Even the toilets were a visual experience.

We specifically went here to try their beers tasters/planks/flights. A great bar and restaurant centrally located with cheek interior and decor with an open and airy atmosphere and vibe. Cool place for beer drinking and relaxation.

Wie immer hervorragend. Sonst bin ich immer unter der Woche da. Da ist das Angebot schon reichlich. Am Sonntag ist von allem guten mehr als genug vorhanden. Auswahl gross, Qualität sehr gut. Alles frisch zubereitet. Für jeden ist etwas dabei. Service 1 a. Alle Mitarbeiter sind sehr zuvorkommend.

The ambience and location are nice to excellent.

Unfortunately the quality of the food leaves a lot to be desired. During my visit I opted for a Wienerschnitzel, which made a disappointing impression when it was served. It turned out to be a frozen and pre-breaded schnitzel. The waiter, who was friendly and courteous, confirmed this when asked. A frozen schnitzel dripping in fat does not meet the expectations of a restaurant serving Bavarian-Austrian cuisine. Especially with a dish like Wienerschnitzel, quality should come first. For the price that Goldalm charges for this dish, the quality offered is simply not acceptable. In summary, it can be said that the Goldalm in Wuppertal scores with a nice ambience, but should urgently work on the quality of its Wiener Schnitzel. Especially when it comes to traditional dishes, a higher standard should be set in order to offer guests a satisfying culinary experience. I spoke to the waiter and he told me from the kitchen that a system restaurant, which is the Goldalm, cannot deliver the quality that I expect.

One sunny afternoon I met a colleague in the city. We quickly found a nice place in the Goldalm. Unfortunately, the waiter gave the impression that he didn't feel like working. We ordered pasta and truffle fries. The fries were not fresh, very cold and had no taste. Although the outdoor area is very attractive, the service could be improved in terms of friendliness.

Half a beer for €6 is steep, a burger for just under €20 isn't a bargain either, but I've never eaten such a dry burger, it literally made dust! Unfortunately, it wasn't until afterwards that I looked at the menu to see which sauces should have been on it. We have eaten at the Goldalm several times and have always been very satisfied, but since June 10th (Monday) we will no longer be visiting this restaurant. We were invited because a friend celebrated her engagement there and had reserved a table. At first everything went well, we were well received and we were quickly asked if we could have something to drink and then directly about the food. The first drinks came quickly and the food was, as always, very tasty. Over the course of the evening we realized that this restaurant probably finds it normal to consume alcohol at the bar and mention it loudly (“Let's have another tequilla, shot, etc.) We had to realize that this was probably more important than the guest To make or bring drinks and had to wait almost 25 minutes for 3 beers. You could see that the lady at the counter in particular was drunk and was shouting loudly or talking to guests or having conversations with them (presumably her husband) and exchanging lasting intimacy. It was also noticeable that her colleagues, especially two women, didn't like it that much and then had to reprimand her. (Please do your job, I've had enough with you / Why are you drinking at the bar, we shouldn't.) All in all, we had to wait a long time for drinks that didn't taste good in the end because the lady probably didn't add any quantities due to the consumption could assess cocktails. The service staff couldn't take care of us anymore because they had to make drinks at the same time. We were here with a group of 8 people. The service started off strong but then unfortunately declined. At the beginning the glass was barely empty and people asked and towards the end you had to ask if you could get anything else. The food was OK but not a highlight. I had the knuckle, which could have been a little browner. The sauerkraut was inedible, which was later confirmed by the waitress and they apologized, but there was no “compensation”. Unfortunately, the fried potatoes were also more fluffy than crispy. All in all, a lot of room for improvement above....

Ich mag die entspannte Atmosphäre dieses Restaurants – man fühlt sich wie im gemütlichen Wohnzimmer von Freunden. Ich würde auf jeden Fall wiederkommen, um noch andere Gerichte zu probieren. Die Kartoffel-Lauch-Suppe war super und der Cäsarsalat war erfrischend. Was den Seeteufel betrifft, waren die Meinungen gespalten – ein Freund fand ihn großartig, ein anderer meinte, dass die Gewürze nicht ganz zueinander passten. Vom Grillsteak waren alle begeistert. Der Service war pünktlich und freundlich, und die Weine waren erschwinglich. "

Sehr freundliches Personal. Das Lokal ist modern, aber auch gemäß des Konzeptes mit alpenländischen Anleihen versehen (Kuhbilder). Das Essen ist preislich zwar gehoben, aber die Qualität ist sehr gut und die Portionen lassen auch keine Wünsche offen Haxe und Haxenpfanne). Insgesamt ein schönes kulinarisches Erlebnis.

Beim Sonntags-Buffet sind die Warmspeisen leider maximal lauwarm, eher leider kalt. Hier sollten die Behälter wärmer eingestellt werden. Ja, es gibt Personen, die sich salzarm ernähren, aber beim Rührei absolut null Gewürz zu verpassen, das ist schon schade. Na gut, überall ist Salz und Pfeffer zu finden, aber wie schon vorher bewertet, auch das Rührei war nur noch kalt Personal selbst war auf jeden Fall überaus freundlich und benutztes Geschirr wurde regelmäßig abgeräumt

Ingwer wenig zu finden und die Scheibchen die im Glas sind …..mega alt. Und und und. Nein danke nur wieder. Tut das den Gästen bitte nicht an. Unprofessionalität!!!!

Das Buffet ist toll, aber vielleicht sollte man das Konzept überdenken denn zu Stosszeiten ist das die Engstelle, da von beiden Seiten Gäste an das Buffet gehen und das Buffet von beiden Seiten ist.

Das Buffet ist sehr gut, man hat alles was man braucht und die einzelnen Sachen schmecken gut. Außerdem ist es toll, dass Getränke im Buffet vorhanden sind. Es war sehr voll und dementsprechend waren einige Sachen am Buffet schnell leer, es wurde aber auch immer zügig aufgefüllt. Da es voll war, hat es auch immer etwas gedauert, bis eine Service Kraft an den Tisch kam, aber alles in allem ist das Frühstücksbüffet sehr zu empfehlen!

We were at the breakfast buffet on Sunday with children (6y & 9y). The dishes were delicious and varied. Unfortunately, the buffet was set up in a narrow passage, so you had to squeeze through crowds of other guests with each course. A large part of the food was set up on high tables or the counter, so that even the tall child (145cm) was not able to serve himself. The service was friendly but difficult to get. I would come back alone, but probably not with children.

At least it was cleared away relatively quickly. After that we still weren't served. We weren't even asked if we wanted to order anything else and we weren't even noticed anymore. The service was really subpar, so a second visit is definitely out of the question for me. The food was tasty, but also very expensive. All in all, I would definitely advise against visiting.

Spijtig dat dit niet werd doorgetrokken tijdens eten. De ober die amper en met moeite sprak was onaangenaam. De flammkuchen niet slecht maar bijna koud. Om de rekening te krijgen moesten we na aandringen bijna buiten gaan voor we ze kregen.

Very nice atmosphere. Friendly staff. Minus point: the waitress often walked past until she came to our table and it took 10 minutes for her to take the order. Everyone only ordered 1 wine and it came after 18 minutes. Everything could be better organized and quicker for a glass of wine. A 0.2l Pinot Gris costs €7.90 and the bottom line is that there was less in 0.2l. We didn't want to complain or complain about anything, but we just don't want to go there again.
