Gold & Brown in Regensburg

My husband and I reserved a table there. After trying to open the menu on the website, which only resulted in an error message, I looked at the pictures on the website. I also went to the Instagram page and looked at the menu there. Unfortunately, I didn't check the date. The last menu update on Instagram was from 2023. Based on the pictures on the website, we expected oriental food. Unfortunately, the food was Bavarian and the selection was much smaller. We were very disappointed, which is why we left before ordering. We had planned to wait until the waiter came and asked us for drinks. But unfortunately, that also took a very long time, so we decided to just get up and leave. I immediately explained the situation to the responsible employee and suggested updating the menu and the pictures on the website. He only confirmed that the website is outdated. Since it's not 1995, I think a website update can be done relatively quickly. The ambiance was very nice, and there's a nice, long, large table for large groups. We sat at a table for two and even had our medium-sized dog with us, which wasn't a problem. Parking in the parking garage was very convenient. We were even able to charge our electric car. The parking spaces are a good size, and the parking garage is very bright and well-ventilated.

For our wedding anniversary, we wanted to have a more upscale meal, and we chose Gold & Brown at the Novotel Regensburg. Making an online reservation was easy; we even received an email via OpenTable the day before asking if we would be able to make it to that day's reservation. After reconfirming our reservation, we arrived today, full of anticipation, promptly at 6:45 p.m. We were immediately informed that the restaurant was closed. The gentleman even had our reservation on his tablet, but the manager had apparently forgotten to inform us. A shrug of the shoulders and a mumbled apology were all that mattered. After a somewhat lengthy discussion and the information that our wedding day was ruined, we were offered a drink as an apology, which we declined, as we had to find another restaurant, which is difficult to find without a reservation and on the spur of the moment, where we could still get dinner. We then found a nice alternative. Mistakes can happen, but not when an email arrives the day before asking whether we will accept the reservation, and the staff on site even sees the reservation in the system. Such a mistake shouldn't happen, especially in this category of restaurant! Anyone booking a table here during the week should already consider a backup. One star is still too many here. Gold & Brown definitely not anymore!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Highly recommended! You feel welcome the moment you walk in – special thanks to Ms. Miled and Mr. Mohamed for the excellent service. The appetizer platter with hummus, labneh, and babaganoush was a dream, especially with the warm flatbread. The burgers were juicy and perfectly prepared, whether with sweet potato or regular fries. The baked cauliflower and the steak were also top-notch! We'll definitely be back.

This review refers to Gold & Brown and the lobby of the Novotel: You can drop by any time of day. Whether for a great espresso ☕️ at the bar, a drink 🍸 during the day, or excellent food in the evening. 😋 The service and atmosphere are simply top-notch!! 🤩

I went here for brunch and the atmosphere is fantastic. The selection is huge, and for the price, you can really fill up – and it's delicious! The staff are friendly and attentive, and they cater to every request. The only downside was paying for the parking ticket; I would have liked some kind of discount since I was already paying for brunch.

Unfortunately, it was disappointing overall. I made a reservation online in advance. The tool asks for the reason, so it should be taken into account on-site. Don't spend anything; just saying a happy birthday is enough. I found the service slow. Attentive and friendly, but lacking the quality that the restaurant (and its ambiance) exudes. What was annoying was the information that there was only a small menu today (2 starters, 4 main courses, 1 dessert). Was that okay? What kind of answer do they expect? And yet, you're already seated... When I made the reservation, I provided my phone number and email address. Couldn't they have called and given me the opportunity to choose whether I wanted my (birthday) meal differently? (My husband had a similar experience with the company: à la carte was agreed upon, but then they served a buffet without any advance notice.) Why isn't red wine on the menu, but only available upon request? The food was delicious, but overall could have been hoarse. The grilled bell peppers could have used more roasted flavors. This is certainly a matter of personal taste. However, it's unacceptable that I'm still sitting with the appetizer while the main course is being served. With the comment: "The kitchen really went all out..." There was no response to my email with my feedback. Overall, there are reasons not to recommend the restaurant.

Es wurde vorab online reserviert. Das Tool fragt den Grund ab, dann sollte dieser auch Beachtung vor Ort finden. Nicht mit etwas ausgeben, sondern Glückwünsche zum Geburtstag reichen da ja auch. Den Service fand ich holprig. Bemüht und freundlich, aber ohne die Qualität welches das Haus (Ambiente) ausstrahlt. Ärgerlich war dann die Info, dass es heute nur eine kleine Karte gebe (2 Vorspeisen, 4 Hauptgänge, 1 Dessert). Ob dies ok sei? Was wird denn da als Antwort nun erwartet? Nun sitzt man doch schon... Bei der Reservierung habe ich Telefonnummer und E-Mail angegeben. Hätte man da mal nicht anrufen können und mir die Möglichkeit geben können noch zu wählen, ob ich mein (Geburtstags-) Essen anders wünsche? (Mein Mann hatte es mit der Firma ähnlich erlebt: a la carte war abgesprochen, dann gab es ein Buffet ohne Vorabinfo) Warum gibt es Rotwein nicht in der Karte, sondern nur auf Nachfrage? Die Speisen waren lecker, könnten insgesamt aber heiser sein. Das gegrillte Paprikagemüse könnte mehr Röstaromen vertragen. Dies sicher aber individueller Geschmack. Allerdings geht es gar nicht, dass ich noch bei der Vorspeise sitze und der Hauptgang wird serviert. Mit dem Kommentar: Da hat die Küche aber Gas gegeben... Auf meine Mail mit meinem Feedback gab es keinerlei Rückmeldung. Insgesamt Gründe das Haus nicht gerne weiterzuempfehlen.

My sister-in-law invited me there for breakfast brunch. Unfortunately, there were very few vegan options. Just milk and cornflakes. I think it's totally overpriced to pay €30 for that.

Nice bar and restaurant at the Novotel Regensburg. Everything runs very smoothly and is relaxed.

We were there with our baby and were given a large table because we were there with a stroller. The appetizer selection is highly recommended. Everything is beautifully presented, tastes excellent, fresh, and not run-of-the-mill. For our main course, we had the cauliflower. It was very tasty. The service was very friendly.

This was our second time at Gold&Brown. Food and ambience is very good. Exactly our taste. Service is very attentive and courteous. There is only one star deduction for the parking fees. On our last visit we had to pay €8 parking fees. Not the first time. So I find that very expensive. A reference to the “new” parking fees would at least be nice.

Really nice restaurant, great food although portions slightly on the small size. Service a bit slow but handy if staying in the Novotel.

Visit “Golden Sunday” ambience very nice, super cool with DJ. The selection is completely sufficient and everything your heart desires. However, nothing was refilled 1.5 hours earlier - that was unfortunately very sad. Not OK for the price! Unfortunately that's a reason for me not to come anymore. Unfortunately, I personally didn't find the service great either. Experienced once but doesn't have to happen again.

Beautiful, tasteful ambience, excellent service, exceptionally good food and drink, very good value for money.

Die Vorspeisenplatte ist sehr lecker und umfangreich, können wir unbedingt empfehlen. Die Hauptspeisen probieren wir das nächste Mal, denn beides hätten wir nicht geschafft. Gut gefallen hat uns auch die entspannte und ruhige Atmosphäre, wir konnten uns wunderbar unterhalten.

We expected more - no fried eggs, no omelet, no champagne for Sunday breakfast, baked croissants and mini puff pastry, no cakes, limited selection of cheese. The white sausages were not refilled and the salmon was only offered very late. It's a hotel breakfast but not a "breakfast brunch" that you could recommend. If we had asked, we would have received more food.....that's what we were told when paying for the TG.

Had a Levantine meal for the first time this evening and I absolutely loved it. The atmosphere is great, the service is very attentive and courteous. We would definitely like to come back!

Went there today and had a great experience with five of us. Price performance is great, delicious coffee, lots of different drinks (all inclusive) and delicious food, lots of choice. Good music or keep it up

I was there for dinner and had a lamb dish. The lamb was tender and the vegetables were al dente. I also really enjoyed the sauce! A perfect dinner!

Great ambience and very good buffet. We were here for Sunday brunch. The buffet lasts until 2:30 p.m. and what particularly impressed me was that even at 2:30 p.m. the buffet was still well stocked. The selection is extensive...from Levantine food to Bavarian fare (white sausage, Leberkäs...)...and everything in between (pancake, sausage, eggs, fruit...). Very friendly staff and the furnishings are stylish and pleasantly cozy.

A really great atmosphere and highly motivated employees (Ms. Denk) make the stay a positive experience. After 12 hours of intensive Regensburg we were looking for something light and we were very satisfied.

Very great atmosphere, great service! Food great quality and fresh and always topped up by attentive staff. We even received champagne on the house because we were there for our birthday brunch. We found this extremely thoughtful. Price is also completely okay. We left nothing to be desired. Children didn't pay anything for brunch, which left us speechless with excitement. Parking fees also have to be paid if you park in the parking garage in the city center - the price is also completely okay. Anyway, we'll be back. Some people can learn something here! Top! Ich bewerte den „Golden Sunday“ der meine Erwartungen in keinster Weise erfüllt hat. Lt. Homepage wird versprochen: „…ist…nicht irgendein Brunch…(sondern) ein großes Frühstücksbuffet mit levantinischen Spezialitäten…“. Leider wird dieses Versprechen meiner Meinung nach nicht gehalten. Es gab lediglich EINE levantinische Spezialität und zwar Shakshuka. Auf der Homepage wird in der Mehrzahl, nämlich von Spezialitäten, gesprochen. Der Rest war ein ganz normales Frühstücksbuffet wie man es kennt und hatte nichts mit der levantinischen Küche zu tun (z. B. Weißwürste, Leberkäse, Rühreier, Wurst / Käse, Brötchen etc.). Bei einem Brunch handelt es sich per definitionem um ein (gegen Mittag eingenommene) ausgedehnte und reichhaltige Mahlzeit, die aus Bestandteilen des Frühstücks und des Mittagessens besteht. Bestandteile vom Mittagessen waren jedoch nicht enthalten. Ich war wegen meiner nicht erfüllten Erwartungen an levantinischen Spezialitäten sehr enttäuscht. Da wir mit Freunden dort waren ersparte ich mir aber weiteres; normalerweise hätte ich das Lokal wieder verlassen. Die Bedienung darauf angesprochen erhielt ich als Aussage, dass jede Woche nur ein levantinisches Gericht nach Auswahl des Kochs zubereitet wird und ich gerne einen Tag vorher mich erkundigen könne welches es werden wird. Ich finde eigentlich den Beginn des „Golden Sunday“ um 11:30 Uhr für Frühstück zu spät. Und es wäre schön, wenn auf der Homepage auch stünde, dass man in der Tiefgarage parken kann (Tarif: 1. Stunde kostenlos, dann 2 € pro Stunde, maximal 15 € pro Tag). Oder noch besser wäre, wenn Restaurantgäste hier kostenlos parken dürften. Das meine Rezension hier nicht falsch verstanden wird: Das Frühstücksbuffet ist sehr schön und umfangreich. Das Lokal ist super stylisch. Das Personal schnell und sehr freundlich. Der DJ hat auch gut aufgelegt (auch wenn der Sound etwas „dünn“ war). Es ist ein direkter Zugang von der Tiefgarage unter dem Lokal möglich. Aber ich habe den „Golden Sunday“ nach der Beschreibung auf der Homepage anders erwartet. Ein normales Frühstücksbuffet wie dieses bekomme ich nahezu überall. In einem levantinischen Restaurant habe ich levantinische Küche erwartet. Ergänzung zu meiner ursprünglichen Bewertung: Nach äußert freundlicher Antwort des stellv. Direktors bin ich zum Schluss gekommen, dass meine Rezension mit 1 Stern zu hart ist und möchte diese auf 3 Sterne ändern. Der stellv. Direktor hat Recht, dass das Angebot wirklich toll ist. Ich fände es trotzdem transparenter, wenn der „Golden Sunday Brunch“ als normales Frühstücksbuffet beworben wird an dem es eine levantinische Ecke mit einem Gericht gibt.

Nice place , quitte cosy, allowing friendly atmosphere and discussions. Mezzo quality is good but the quantities are really not enough, even for dinner.

Ein sehr schönes Ambiente! Freundliches Personal und sehr leckeres Essen ( ich hatte ein vegetarisches Gericht) Das Dessert war einfach nur köstlich! Gerne wieder!!

Hamburger war so lala.. da ist noch Luft nach oben.. wenn es im Hotel schnell gehen soll, dann ist es ganz ok. Hamburger war nur Lauwarm und der Bun war nicht gut. Pommes sind sehr gut! Service sehr freundlich..

Tolles Ambiente und sehr aufmerksamer Service. Speisen wohl Convenience-Food, Geschmack eher untere Kategorie, teilweise nur lauwarm und überwürzt mit Knoblauchpulver, das noch am nächsten Tag nachschmeckt. Weinauswahl geht besser. Vollkommen überzogene Preise. Insgesamt Essen & Trinken 2 Sterne. 1 Stern zusätzlich für kostenfreies Parken in der Tiefgarage & Service. Ganz ok , wenn mal als Hotelgast nicht mehr auswärts essen gehen will, aber nichts für den Regensburger. Da gibt's weitaus direkt besseres um's Eck.

Schönes, modernes Restaurant mit mal einer anderen Küche. Hier kann man in die persische Welt eintauchen und es dreht sich alles um Gewürze, Baba Ganoush und Hummus. Wir können die Vorspeisenplatte als Starter empfehlen.

Super Restaurant im Novotel Regensburg. Das Essen war sehr gut. Der Service war auch sehr nett und zuvorkommend. Aber man merkte am Nachbartisch, dass sie teilweise nicht aufeinander abgestimmt sind. Aber wenn ich wieder mal in Regensburg bin, dann komme ich aufjedenfall wieder vorbei.

Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und das Ambiente wirklich toll. Das Essen schmeckt gut, ist jedoch für den aufgerufenen Preis nicht besonders bzw. raffiniert genug und daher für mein Empfinden zu teuer.

Einen wunderschönen Mädelsabend in einem wunderschönen Ambiente heute verbracht. Ein 1 fürs Servicepersonal, immer präsent unaufdringlich aber immer da wenn man was brauchte. Essen auf höchstem Niveau . Denke die Bilder sprechen für sich . Danke bis zum nächsten mal

„+“ good food, new interior. „—" Slow and inattentive stаff, expensive parking in the hotel, there was no background music during our stay, no compliment from the restaurant on the Birthday (could be something small, but pleasant), also there was no Champagne available. There are some points to be improved, but the food was good. Thanks to the chef.

Das Restaurant ist schick, Essen und Getränke waren sehr lecker, aber am Service muss noch gearbeitet werden. Das Essen kam noch vor den Getränken, das Wasser zum Menü wurde komplett vergessen und später auch nicht aufgefüllt. Vorspeise und Hauptgang wurden nahezu gleichzeitig serviert, so dass wir alles kalt gegessen haben.
