The quality standards of this restaurant have noticeably declined recently. Foreign objects like hair in the food are absolutely unacceptable. This is particularly disappointing given that the health department had already been contacted. I sincerely hope that the restaurant will take its hygiene and quality processes seriously again; unfortunately, I cannot recommend it at present.

It was very tasty. I had diarrhea afterwards, though. Don't use that peanut sauce. The rest was very tasty. Kisses

Excerpt from the Hessen Consumer Information Panel: General premises: Due to serious hygiene deficiencies, including pest infestations (mice and fruit flies), the operator was prohibited from preparing and selling food. Counter: Some walls were contaminated. The refrigerator door seals, the refrigerators themselves, the green plastic cutting board, the waffle iron, the rice cooker, the ceiling, and the lighting were also contaminated. The floor was also contaminated, particularly in the edges and corners, as well as underneath and behind the equipment. In addition, several electrical installations such as light switches, sockets, cables, and/or wires were contaminated. Furthermore, a mouse infestation was detected. The food produced, processed, and distributed at the premises was at risk of contamination.

Best food I have ever eaten, I go here every time I can, even though it takes me like 2 hours with all the public transport. I can't recommend this enough!!!

I've been eating here about 1-4 times a year for a few years now. Unfortunately, I've noticed that the quality continues to decline over time, and the prices keep rising slightly. But I've had enough now; the chicken has been getting drier and worse in quality, but today I got a real shocker: my chicken in my burger was 1/3 gristle and still raw in the middle! That's absolutely unacceptable; the tenders were also unseasoned, dry, and tough. Spend your money elsewhere. There are 10 other Korean fried chicken spots in Frankfurt that are either cheaper or offer significantly better quality for the same price.

The food and the waiting time were mega good

My visit to Gokio Bros. was an extremely enjoyable experience. The signature dish – Chicken & Waffles – won me over from the first bite. The chicken was golden brown and wonderfully crispy on the outside, while moist and flavorful on the inside, just as you'd expect. The combination with fluffy waffles and fine maple syrup created a wonderful interplay of sweet and savory. I was particularly intrigued by the small, sophisticated details: The spiciness of the fresh chilies added a contrasting accent, while the pomegranate pieces, with their fruity acidity and crisp texture, brought an elegant freshness to the dish. An unusual but perfectly executed finishing touch. Gokio Chicken also scored highly outside of the kitchen: The service was attentive and friendly, the atmosphere relaxed and inviting – a place where you immediately feel at home.

Great chicken, mega breading, and the lattice fries are crispy too! Sure, everything's deep-fried, and the sauces are very rich. Drinks are served in bottles, chilled. Ketchup and mayo come with it. It's not light fare, but it's truly amazing soul food. A recommendation from me.

Delicious, authentic Korean chicken that's simply enjoyable and not always the same old "fast food" you'd find everywhere else. The homemade ginger cola lemonade is also great. The price is quite reasonable, and the portions are really good. At first, I thought it was a bit small...but the chicken is quite filling. I'll be back.

The taste was okay. The ambiance was absolutely terrible, with particle boards nailed to the wall and a fan in the dining area, where you sit in a wind tunnel. The seating was more like children's chairs. Service was only available at the counter. Once and never again.

The sandwich was sensational and I would recommend it to anyone without reservation. The tenders were also very tasty, but couldn't quite keep up with the sandwich. The price-performance ratio is satisfactory. If you want quick and delicious food that you can't get everywhere, this is the place for you. Fried chicken on waffles—nothing more needs to be said. I had cage fries with it, and I was happy. I found it very tasty, the flavors were well-balanced, and the chicken was nice and tender and juicy. They also had a variety of sauces, each of which, with their distinctive flavors, definitely stood out from the norm. If you like Korean chicken, you're in the right place. It's not as fancy as some others, but it doesn't have to be. Simplicity, a good range of spices, top quality, and delicious sauces are the focus here! The service was a little sluggish, but that's forgivable if you come here on a Saturday afternoon and don't want to know what was going on before us. You do have to like the ambiance, though, because you're practically sitting on a busy street, there's always something going on, and there's not much space in the restaurant itself.

Please improve how you prepare your chicken. It had a weird smell. I’m not sure if it wasn’t marinated properly or if the chicken itself wasn’t fresh. Hope it gets better next time!

As mentioned in reviews below, the fried chicken tenders was very dry on the edges while more juicy in the middle of the thick chicken breast. The fries were tasty, but the main chicken which is the focus fell below par. The seat cushions indoor all had stains, appeared like grease stains. It would be worthwhile for the restaurant to replace the seat cushions as they were unsightly.

Delicious chicken with even better sauces. French fries aren't as common these days. It's not comfortable, but it's a good place to sit and eat. Part of the interior doubles as storage. The restroom is very cramped.

Unfortunately, my return here after a long time was very bad. The food wasn't warm or crispy, which I think is essential for Korean fried chicken. The service seemed annoyed.

Too much localization of k-food to a point where it could be called an “inspired fusion”. Too greasy, too sweet, lukewarm, soggy, … nothing hits the mark! The staff was helpful though.

When we ordered, we were told that it would take about 30 minutes for the food to be ready. We thought that was great because we could prepare ourselves for a bit of a wait and, in terms of time, it was perfectly fine for us. We also enjoyed the food. The only negative point is that you sit pretty close to the other guests. Next to us sat a family with three children who left wet gummy bears on their seats. Of course it's a coincidence who's sitting next to you, but that spoiled our visit experience a bit.

Very tasty Korean BBQ with great sauces! Very juicy fried chicken and chicken tenders! I like their crisscross fries. Very friendly staff. Unfortunately, there's limited seating inside, but there's also outdoor seating. I've been there twice and would go again.

The overall experience was good. Nice atmosphere, nice people. Ordered the Chicken Tenders and my mate the Pyongyang Burger. The sauces were good. The fries (seemed store bought) were actually very nice and with a good sauce. But the Chicken was so dry it reminded me of a Biscuit. For the price of almost 10€ for 3 tenders I would expect juicy chicken. Unfortunately very disappointing. But everything else was okay but the chicken not worth eating.

Little cute shop. Colorfully furnished with outdoor area. You order at the counter and then pick up the food. We had the chicken sandwich and were pleasantly surprised. Very crispy breading and juicy chicken. Definitely a beautiful spot and perfect, especially when the sun is shining.

Small but nice. This very inconspicuous shop in the heart of Frankfurt convinced me during my last search for something unique to eat. Korean fast food, generally a rare niche, is the topic here. I had the Pyongyang Burger, which deviates from the norm with an unusual, slightly Asian spiciness and Korean sauces and offers a previously relatively unusual taste experience. The atmosphere is pleasant and the nice gentleman at the checkout gives a feeling of attention. In terms of price, the dishes are very reasonable compared to the portion size, which is definitely filling. Gladly again

An absolute highlight! I recently drove from Lake Constance to Frankfurt with a few friends just to eat at GOKIO Bros. - and it was absolutely worth it! The food was so delicious that we even went there twice in one day. Every dish was a delight and we were not disappointed. The presumed owner was extremely friendly and made us feel welcome. You rarely experience such warmth! We're already looking forward to the next time - when we'll go to Frankfurt again to have a fantastic meal here again. Thank you for this great experience!

Ordered online via Wolt: unfortunately forgot the Chicken, but then we talked via phone. They owned their mistake and brought it all the way to me late at night! It was a long work day for them and me. Thus 5 stars for trying to do the right thing despite a mistake! They literally went the extra mile and I will stay a customer!

The staff was pretty quick in preparing the food. The atmosphere is good as the store is small but well decorated with that typical Korean restaurant feel. The food was very tasty and the portions were very large, in fact I couldn't finish it all. Neither does my friend... It is a self-service restaurant, you pick up your food at the checkout.

The store clerk badmouthed other chicken shops to promote his own meat quality. We ordered the chicken tenders and the Pyongyang Burger with Criss Cross Fries. The disappointment was great. The chicken tenders were very tough and dry. It was difficult to cut through the tenders with a knife. The Pyongyang Burger was bland and the Criss Cross Fries had a fishy taste. Since there is no fish on the menu, I suspect that the oil in which the fries were fried was rancid, which suggests that the oil was not changed often enough. Shame about the money. For what is offered the price is not worth it. Expensive and poor quality.

The lattice fries had a rancid, fishy taste and the tender chicken was dry and fried to death, the breading so tough that you could hardly cut it with a knife. The owner also tried to convince us that the chickens were organically free-range to justify the quantity and price, after we wanted to know whether there were really only 3 lean pieces of chicken for €10. The Pyongyang burger was just as bad in terms of quality and the sauce was bland. I don't understand all the positive reviews, have people lost all standards and taste?! The food is a complete disappointment, the price is a rip-off for the quantity and you should stay away from it.

Actually a nice location, but you don't win any stars with a neglected outdoor area, disgustingly stained seat cushions, dirty decorations and a demolished toilet. The chicken was ok, the supposedly hot sauce was terrible: lots of sugar, lots of starch, no flavor...it's a shame Price-performance was also inadequate

The seating in front of the fast food restaurant is totally rotten - as is the floor... see photos! Things don't look much better inside. The chicken was definitely not fresh but pre-cooked - either generally or occasionally - definitely dry and tough! The frying fat wasn't the freshest either - it had a rancid taste. The prices are disproportionate to what is on offer. 20ml sauce for €2.50 - actually you would need at least 50ml to get flavor from the fried parts. The employees seem listless and aren't really on task. In the end it was a waste of money for us. No recommendation!

It’s a great option for those who are new to Korean chicken/koren food in general. Their chickens have a rather subtle yet tasty sauces in comparison to the authentic Korean fried chicken. As a Korean food lover, I still recommend.

Went there on a Friday evening and managed to get one of the few tables inside. The shop is small but cozy. The food was really really good. The menu is clear, but fried chicken lovers will get their money's worth. We had a burger and a salad, both were absolutely great. The staff was also super friendly. We'll definitely be back.

It's a shame that the specialty, fried chicken with waffles, wasn't available. Nevertheless, the fried chicken was perhaps one of the best in Frankfurt!

I've wanted to try the waffles with chicken for a long time, I love dishes with sweet and salty components. The sauces were positive, although they were quite expensive at €2.50. Unfortunately, the fried chicken and the tenders were disappointing in terms of taste. I couldn't detect any spice, really no taste, no salt, nothing. The waffle was okay, tasted very strongly of vanilla extract. The sweet predominates too much. I didn't taste the chili either, maybe I forgot it. Lattice potatoes were good. Overall, unfortunately, I can't recommend it at all, as there is simply too much strong competition in Frankfurt in terms of taste when it comes to Korean BBQ.

Unfortunately, the taste, portion size and ambience do not match the expensive price, so the stars (service and ambience) are deducted. The outdoor area offers seating. However, since you have to share the bench in the middle rows with the other table, it is difficult to get in and it is very uncomfortable to sit.

What he does is that he picks up the food himself and pays for it straight away. This does not mean that the customer then does the dishes or enters into other obligations out of solidarity with cashiers who are unwilling to work. Have you ever been to McDonalds? They also have self-service and no one runs after you insultingly if you leave your tray on the table. To eat: I didn't like it. It was too greasy for me and I didn't like the sauce either. The fried chicken was decent, wouldn't say it's amazing. But it's too expensive at 16 Euros for 4 large pieces. There are other Korean places in Frankfurt with far better deals.

I didn't like it. I was particularly looking forward to the fried chicken, but the meat was quite dry and hardly tasted like anything. The breading was very thin and still very light. The fries were okay and so were the sauces. But overall not very very tasty and (unfortunately) not recommended.

Very upset with this place. Wanted to come and try my first taste of Korean chicken. Showed up at 9:40 PM. Guess what? Even though it says closes at 10, they have the place all packed up so they could go home exactly at 10. Poor management. If you’re going to stay open till 10, serve until 10. Don’t make me waste a 25 minute walk for nothing.
