Gleis 1 in March

This restaurant is an absolute disappointment! We had reserved breakfast for 7 people and had to wait an incredible 40 minutes for our food. But that wasn't enough - when breakfast was finally served, it only consisted of 6-7 small pieces of baguette! We had to wait an additional 20 minutes for the croissants and remaining rolls. And that even though there were hardly any guests in the restaurant - just 4-5 occupied tables on a Saturday morning. Such poor service is completely unacceptable! I definitely cannot recommend this restaurant!

A beautiful bar and restaurant was built in a former train station building. The charm of the old train station with its wooden paneling has been preserved. The room layout is generous. The outside area has large terraces in the front and back with lots of tables and chairs with a shady and cozy atmosphere, which invites you to linger. The food is home-style and tastes very good! There are vegan and vegetarian dishes. The prices are in the middle range. Reservations are absolutely necessary as they are often well attended!

Was there often for breakfast. Breakfast is OK. Unfortunately, the rooms weren't heated enough last time, so we were a bit cold throughout our visit. The staff is friendly.

After the funeral service we were in platform 1, which is a good place to have lunch. A big compliment to the service because everything went so quickly. 👍 There were 30 people, we almost all had food at the same time. When we're nearby we'll come back for dinner. The menu offers something for every taste. There are also seasonally changing dishes. The staff is friendly and motivated. A place where I like to eat regularly. Unfortunately, access with strollers is only possible via stairs

I actually really enjoy going to Gleis 1, the food is (very) good and you never have to wait long. Yesterday I ordered a sausage salad again - very tasty as usual, but unfortunately a (significantly) smaller portion than before. It is now no longer served on a salad plate, but on a smaller dinner plate (probably so that it is not noticeable). The result is annoying and unacceptable - you don't get full.

Here you will always receive friendly and attentive service.

Always top for decades! There is something for every taste and we just love being there :)

Chic little restaurant near Freiburg. Good cuisine with good service that is quick and good. Also has an outdoor area with limited seating.

Excellent food, we hardly waited. Unfortunately the service from the young waiter left a lot to be desired. Didn't bring the promised sauces, was late when asked that we wanted to pay and made a sarcastic remark. It's a shame, otherwise it's a great place!

Delicious, down-to-earth food, something for every taste. Service was friendly, but I had problems with the timing...was it the kitchen? Whatever, it was great, I'll be back. Be careful: there is a speed camera right in front of the establishment that takes 30 very carefully 😂

Had a bad day yesterday. Two drinks were a problem for the crew yesterday. Arrived late and just wanted something to drink... must have waited 20 minutes for a glass of sangria :-( ... wheat beer was quicker :-)

The two of us were on platform 1 at the end of August around 7 p.m. We ate a small turkey schnitzel with mushrooms and fries as well as an Alsatian sausage salad. The food was very tasty and presented appetizingly on the plate. The portion size was more than sufficient. The price of food and drink is reasonable. The service lady was very friendly and quick. We were completely satisfied and will come back when the opportunity arises. Unfortunately I forgot to take photos.

Great place we stumbled upon on our way back to The Netherlands from Italy. By far the best schnitzel we ever had. Add a great authentic atmosphere in a nice mix of old and young people, plus service with a smile. Amazingly nice gem in an old trainstation. Don’t skip this one if you have the chance.

Consistently good cuisine for many years. We happened to be out and about in the area on Saturday lunchtime and felt like grabbing a bite to eat. What's also very nice here is that small portions are available upon request. The service on the terrace on Sunday was extremely friendly.

Been there with 13 people. Reservations only possible for indoor use, even in summer when the weather is nice. Nevertheless, we were allowed to change after tables became available. The food came quickly, despite the large group. There was nothing to complain about in terms of quality. All solid quality. Our waitress was extremely friendly and helpful. We had a great evening and it wasn't the last time we were there. Attention: Speed ​​cameras at the roundabout coming from Freiburg!!

Great idea to convert the old train station building into a restaurant! There's plenty of space, including some really nice retro benches. Seems to be very family friendly based on the number of high chairs. On the menu there is a mixture of typical burgers and the like, plus tapas. It's reasonably priced, good portions and I enjoyed it. I was there on a Monday evening and it was pretty full, so a reservation is recommended

Jetzt haben wir dem Gleis 1 heute nach mehr als 1 Jahr nochmal ne Chance gegeben, aber es ist noch so schlecht wie eh und je. Obwohl nicht voll, kam keine Bedienung. Als wir uns setzten räumte sie noch win Glas ab, welches da stand aber dann war sie nicht mehr gesehen. Nach 10 Minuten sind wir dann gegangen. Es war, ist und bleibt einfach schlecht. Die Karte ist immer noch sie gleiche und das Essen war seit je her schlecht. Absolut keinen Besuch wert.

Good quality breakfast when the waitress shows up. After 10 minutes. Still no staff in sight. I called from the garden terrace. I could reach the lady over the phone. This also came with a blue ashtray that was distributed on all the tables. No good morning nothing. After 12 We can then order from decorated tables. The whole process up to breakfast took about 30 minutes. There were 8 people in total Guests present. Reorder Hardly possible, operation is no longer visible. Oh well.

We were only there to eat ice cream and drink coffee, but there was a decent sausage salad at the table next door. We will be back definitely.

It was a fantastic experience! I highly recommend you to have a stop in this train station caffee and try the delicious food, drinks and service provided by Gleis 1. We were looking for a small drink from our bike trip and we found an absolute gem on the road. Special kudos for the excellent service provided by the young blonde lady. See you shortly!

Fast service, I mean there was still silver skin on the spare ribs but the marinade was delicious. The schnitzel was great. The salad dressings were also really tasty.

I was there for the Sunday breakfast buffet with friends. We were greeted by a super-friendly team and were able to choose a table outside at short notice. My short-term request for gluten-free rolls was also met without any problems and the baked goods were freshly baked for me. Thanks for that! ;) The buffet was sufficient and I think it's good that it was replenished 'with a sense of proportion' so that no food was wasted. Our waiter was super attentive, friendly and helpful. I will gladly come again!

Like it has been for 20 years, just good

This is a good place to meet up with friends. Nice atmosphere and friendly service. Enough parking spaces in front of the house. Gladly again.

There is a breakfast buffet on Sundays and public holidays. There are all the “basics” including salmon. Everything nicely arranged. The selection of muesli and yoghurt could be a bit more extensive for my taste. Orange juice and tap water included in €18. From 11.30 a.m. the buffet will only be refilled upon request, which I personally very much welcome. In my opinion, you can skip the “lunch dish” that makes it brunch. Otherwise nice service and suitable ambience.

Unfortunately, the schnitzel was too salty for my taste. The burger 🍔 was carelessly slapped together and not worth the money. There is still a lot of room for improvement in the kitchen. Get well soon. I'll try again soon.
