Very good and inexpensive (not cheap) food

A beautiful bar and restaurant was built in a former train station building. The charm of the old train station with its wooden paneling has been preserved. The room layout is generous. The outside area has large terraces in the front and back with lots of tables and chairs with a shady and cozy atmosphere, which invites you to linger. The food is home-style and tastes very good! There are vegan and vegetarian dishes. The prices are in the middle range. Reservations are absolutely necessary as they are often well attended!

Mega ambience on the platform with the trains. Service is nice, but you sometimes have to fight for attention. Food simple but delicious.

Gleis 1 has been an excellent address for many years. Really recommended.

Everything was very tasty and reasonably priced. The location is a bit noisy, but it has the old train station charm. Dessert also delicious. Top recommendation.

A renovated train station with a very special charm. The menu isn't too big. But there is something for everyone. The portions are very large, you can also order a small portion, which is still enough. The food is very good, all from regional producers. The service deserved more than 5 stars.

Chic little restaurant near Freiburg. Good cuisine with good service that is quick and good. Also has an outdoor area with limited seating.

Excellent food, we hardly waited. Unfortunately the service from the young waiter left a lot to be desired. Didn't bring the promised sauces, was late when asked that we wanted to pay and made a sarcastic remark. It's a shame, otherwise it's a great place!

The two of us were on platform 1 at the end of August around 7 p.m. We ate a small turkey schnitzel with mushrooms and fries as well as an Alsatian sausage salad. The food was very tasty and presented appetizingly on the plate. The portion size was more than sufficient. The price of food and drink is reasonable. The service lady was very friendly and quick. We were completely satisfied and will come back when the opportunity arises. Unfortunately I forgot to take photos.

Delicious, down-to-earth food, something for every taste. Service was friendly, but I had problems with the timing...was it the kitchen? Whatever, it was great, I'll be back. Be careful: there is a speed camera right in front of the establishment that takes 30 very carefully 😂

Had a bad day yesterday. Two drinks were a problem for the crew yesterday. Arrived late and just wanted something to drink... must have waited 20 minutes for a glass of sangria :-( ... wheat beer was quicker :-)

Great place we stumbled upon on our way back to The Netherlands from Italy. By far the best schnitzel we ever had. Add a great authentic atmosphere in a nice mix of old and young people, plus service with a smile. Amazingly nice gem in an old trainstation. Don’t skip this one if you have the chance.

Consistently good cuisine for many years. We happened to be out and about in the area on Saturday lunchtime and felt like grabbing a bite to eat. What's also very nice here is that small portions are available upon request. The service on the terrace on Sunday was extremely friendly.

Been there with 13 people. Reservations only possible for indoor use, even in summer when the weather is nice. Nevertheless, we were allowed to change after tables became available. The food came quickly, despite the large group. There was nothing to complain about in terms of quality. All solid quality. Our waitress was extremely friendly and helpful. We had a great evening and it wasn't the last time we were there. Attention: Speed ​​cameras at the roundabout coming from Freiburg!!

Great idea to convert the old train station building into a restaurant! There's plenty of space, including some really nice retro benches. Seems to be very family friendly based on the number of high chairs. On the menu there is a mixture of typical burgers and the like, plus tapas. It's reasonably priced, good portions and I enjoyed it. I was there on a Monday evening and it was pretty full, so a reservation is recommended

Good quality breakfast when the waitress shows up. After 10 minutes. Still no staff in sight. I called from the garden terrace. I could reach the lady over the phone. This also came with a blue ashtray that was distributed on all the tables. No good morning nothing. After 12 We can then order from decorated tables. The whole process up to breakfast took about 30 minutes. There were 8 people in total Guests present. Reorder Hardly possible, operation is no longer visible. Oh well.

Jetzt haben wir dem Gleis 1 heute nach mehr als 1 Jahr nochmal ne Chance gegeben, aber es ist noch so schlecht wie eh und je. Obwohl nicht voll, kam keine Bedienung. Als wir uns setzten räumte sie noch win Glas ab, welches da stand aber dann war sie nicht mehr gesehen. Nach 10 Minuten sind wir dann gegangen. Es war, ist und bleibt einfach schlecht. Die Karte ist immer noch sie gleiche und das Essen war seit je her schlecht. Absolut keinen Besuch wert.

We were only there to eat ice cream and drink coffee, but there was a decent sausage salad at the table next door. We will be back definitely.

It was a fantastic experience! I highly recommend you to have a stop in this train station caffee and try the delicious food, drinks and service provided by Gleis 1. We were looking for a small drink from our bike trip and we found an absolute gem on the road. Special kudos for the excellent service provided by the young blonde lady. See you shortly!

Fast service, I mean there was still silver skin on the spare ribs but the marinade was delicious. The schnitzel was great. The salad dressings were also really tasty.

I was there for the Sunday breakfast buffet with friends. We were greeted by a super-friendly team and were able to choose a table outside at short notice. My short-term request for gluten-free rolls was also met without any problems and the baked goods were freshly baked for me. Thanks for that! ;) The buffet was sufficient and I think it's good that it was replenished 'with a sense of proportion' so that no food was wasted. Our waiter was super attentive, friendly and helpful. I will gladly come again!

Today the service was very bad. Waited 1 hour for breakfast and then got the wrong one. And this even though the restaurant wasn't even half full. Didn't even get a coffee or anything else as an apology. I'm a regular there and I understand a lot of things, but that's how you alienate the guests. It's a shame actually 😢

Like it has been for 20 years, just good

This is a good place to meet up with friends. Nice atmosphere and friendly service. Enough parking spaces in front of the house. Gladly again.

There is a breakfast buffet on Sundays and public holidays. There are all the “basics” including salmon. Everything nicely arranged. The selection of muesli and yoghurt could be a bit more extensive for my taste. Orange juice and tap water included in €18. From 11.30 a.m. the buffet will only be refilled upon request, which I personally very much welcome. In my opinion, you can skip the “lunch dish” that makes it brunch. Otherwise nice service and suitable ambience.

Unfortunately, the schnitzel was too salty for my taste. The burger 🍔 was carelessly slapped together and not worth the money. There is still a lot of room for improvement in the kitchen. Get well soon. I'll try again soon.

A single catastrophe. Salad dressing - from the bag The “salsa” from the bag. Guacamole from the bag. The minced meat is not recognizable as such, taste 0.00. The atmosphere is too loud. The service was 1a, super nice and accommodating.

We got room for 9 at short notice and found it good Great location. Great team, but there is still room for improvement when it comes to food. So example: Tapas fried potatoes felt like frozen potato wedges. Garlic mayo was excellent for this 5 ⭐ Dessert was also very tasty. Price wise everything is top!

We were celebrating a birthday with 8 people. Operation and service were super nice and quick. You can't complain about the food either. Price performance is right here. We can recommend it and we will definitely come back.

Essen war einfach nicht gut. Wir haben z.B. ein Schnitzel mit Brot bestellt, dazu ein Beilagensalat separat, da nicht mit dabei und gebackene Champions mit Knoblauchsoße. Das Schnitzel war extrem klein und der Teller hat zwei harte halbe Baguettehälften (wohl vom Frühstück noch übrig) und ein Salat auf dem Teller. Ich hätte den Beilagensalat nicht zusätzlich bestellt. Auf Nachfragen kein Entgegenkommen, sondern patzige Antwort erhalten. Die Champignons waren aus der Dose/ Glas ohne Geschmack. Es sollte als spanische Tapas gelten. Ein Witz! Zudem hatten wir ein Wurstsalat, dessen Soße ein „Stich“ hatte, extrem eklig. Sie wollten es nicht probieren. Vielleicht wussten Die warum. Für uns ist das Thema erledigt. Nicht selbstkritisch oder nehmen die Meinung des Gastes an. Unterirdisch!!

A very nice location in the train station building. The restaurant is very full at lunchtime and reservations are highly recommended. The lunch menu includes several dishes. My lasagna was very tasty and really something different than the standard lunch menu. Keep it up!

Super tasty food, seasonal offers on the 'special timetable', great atmosphere, funny and friendly staff who make sure you feel completely at home! Food comes quickly and always tastes good. Simply great. Reservations are recommended as there is often a lot going on, but then no problem. We were asked if two more people could join us at the large table because there was so much going on and they were desperately looking for a place. We had a good time, the waitress asked politely and nicely and that was completely fine with us! Definitely not the last time!

Large selection and still quite cheap.

Ich gehe hier öfters mit Kunden zum Mittagessen. Das Essen ist immer gut bis sehr gut (diesmal hat mein Kollege vom Kartoffelgratin geschwärmt, mein Rehragout war gut und der Rotkohl sehr gut, und die Kunden waren glücklich) 👍 Die Karte ist abwechselungsreich. Der Service ist stets auf Zack, trotz der mittäglichen Hektik und dann noch stets alle freundlich 👍👍👍 Weiter so !

Es war sehr voll & wie mussten etwas warten. Servicekraft war nett, jedoch etwas überfordert. Die bestellten Getränke waren z.T. nicht verfügbar, weshalb wir uns etwas anderes aussuchen mussten. Bis die Bedienung dann wieder kam, verging einige Zeit. Eine Nachbestellung ist leider untergegangen. Geräuschkulisse war etwas laut, weshalb ich mir einen weiteren Besuch gut überlegen werde. Insgesamt ok.

Die Menükarte ist bis auf die Saisonkarten seit Jahren unverändert aber eben auch in der guten Qualität gleich geblieben. Auf die saisonalen Suppen freue ich mich immer besonders, die sind köstlich! Die Atmosphäre ist teils etwas laut, aber typisch Bahnhof eben. Nach dem Motto Bahnhof ist auch die Inneneinrichtung und die Menükarte gestaltet. Ich mag diesen Bahnhofsflair aber und komme seit Jahren wegen des guten Essens und der echt kundenfreundlichen Öffnungszeiten her.

Wunderschönes Restaurant mit verglastem Gästeraum von dem aus man die Züge von Gleis 1 bewundern kann. Rustikale Einrichtung mit viel Holz und lederbezogenen Sitzplätzen. Wie in einen American Diner... Junges Servicepersonal. Jung, gut eingearbeitet, immer nett und zuvorkommend.

Das Restaurant hat meine Erwartungen erfüllt. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Die Atmosphäre war einladend und gemütlich, perfekt für ein entspanntes Essen. Was das Essen betrifft, war es schlichtweg gut. Frische Zutaten und raffinierte Zubereitung machten jedes Gericht zu einem Genuss. Die Vielfalt auf der Speisekarte bot für jeden Geschmack etwas. Die Portionen waren großzügig, ohne an Qualität einzubüßen. Die präsentierten Gerichte waren nicht nur kulinarisch ansprechend, sondern auch optisch. Die Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis war mehr als fair, angesichts der gebotenen Qualität. Insgesamt eine gastronomische Erfahrung, die ich jedem empfehlen kann.

Leider sind die Bänke an der Fensterfront für etwas korpulentere Personen viel zu eng. Eine typische Fehlplanung. Das Essen ist gut. Personal freundlich.

Sonntagsbrunch. Trotz ohne Reservierung einen Tisch bekommen. Reichhaltiges Buffet und sehr sympathische und aufmerksame Bedienung. Tolle Location im alten Bahnhofsgebäude.
