Gleis 1 in March

It was very busy, but the food was delicious, and the service was friendly and attentive. We were told that we might have to wait longer, but that wasn't the case. Treating and serving guests so well with a full house is, in my opinion, outstanding. Thank you for a wonderful evening! My dessert recommendation: the tiramisu is superb!

Affordable, no frills solid cooking and friendly service. A great place for the Alltag outing when fastfood is not an option. Do try the Schnitzel - you won't regret it.

Since we wanted to meet someone, we looked for a central location. We weren't familiar with the area. So we chose the train station on March DE with the restaurant on platform 1. We received friendly service, enjoyed dessert and coffee, and were satisfied.

In my opinion, track 1 is very good. The food is very tasty, there is a nice selection from the menu and it is very nicely presented. If you sit inside there are nice old train seats outside, it is very nicely set up and the staff are very friendly. Highly recommended.

We went there especially – super good schnitzel, perfect fries, and a delicious salad with feta cheese and mushrooms! The staff is very attentive and friendly. The kids have a great outdoor playground with vehicles and can run around until the food arrives. Perfect! Overall, always a very nice trip :)

We just ate there, as we've been doing for years, and always order the same thing, but tonight we couldn't enjoy our meal. His fries were rock hard, literally, and my tagliatelle was overcooked and almost mushy. The waitress was very polite and friendly. But charging full price for food that wasn't good, and it was very obvious, was completely unacceptable in my opinion. We've been coming here for years and will keep coming back. I just think complaints should be handled better—by that, I mean the kitchen, not the waiters.

I've been a long-time visitor to Gleis 1. What surprises me is the price increase. My favorite has always been the turkey schnitzel with fries, but it's very expensive...unfortunately.

We ate at Gleis 1 as a family. Since we didn't have a reservation, we were initially concerned about whether we'd even get room for eight people on a Sunday afternoon. However, the waiter greeted us very warmly and immediately arranged two tables for us to sit at. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. We were served quickly, the dishes we ordered (various tapas, tarte flambée, sausage salad, and two enchilada dishes) were brought without a long wait, and everything tasted absolutely delicious. The selection of dishes is varied but not overwhelming, which we really appreciated. There was something for everyone. The quality was excellent: the olives were the kind you'd expect at tapas, not cheap olives from a jar from the supermarket. It's also worth mentioning that the waiters were attentive without being intrusive. You can occasionally hear the (quiet) beeping of the train doors in the background, but if you're visiting a restaurant near a station whose name clearly indicates this, you can easily overlook it. It didn't bother us. All in all, a lovely evening with great food and a lovely atmosphere. We'd definitely be happy to come back.

The two of us were in the restaurant from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Despite the moderate activity, it took a while for our drinks to arrive at our tables. The staff were in a rather mediocre mood. 1/4 Gutedel quality wine cost €7.75!!!!!!!

I was hoping for better. A nicely renovated old train station, retaining benches and doors from its former life. Interesting, but with other choices, the atmosphere would have been more in keeping with the idea. The food was decent, but the service was poor. It's likely that the staff is understaffed: an hour's wait from when we sat down for the first course to arrive. The waiters were always in a rush, difficult to stop. Many items on the menu were unavailable and not even indicated. In conclusion, in the absence of anything else, it's okay. However, there was no enthusiasm.

I'm a regular here; I've had breakfast here many times, as well as lunch and dinner. The food has always been really good, but what I particularly like is that the staff is super friendly and attentive! I really enjoy being here!

The food is hearty and varied, and I always enjoy going there. The portions are generous, but you can also order smaller meals. Vegetarian dishes are also available, albeit a small selection.

The food is good here, and the seating is comfortable. A great daily special with one meat, one vegetarian, and one fish. We were both very satisfied.

I had a salad with zander fillet. The salad dressing was delicious, the salad fresh. The fillets were cooked to perfection. The service was very friendly.

We visited "Gleis 1" in Hugstetten for the first time in a long time and were unfortunately very disappointed. The quality of the food had declined significantly. Instead of the fresh and lovingly prepared dishes we used to get, there were frozen potato wedges – something they never had before. We were particularly surprised (and frankly shocked) by the price: €7 for a single slice of cheese. The price-performance ratio here is completely out of whack these days. It's a real shame, because "Gleis 1" used to be a real highlight in the region. Unfortunately, the visit wasn't enjoyable – we won't be coming back anytime soon.

Had lunch on Tuesday. Fried potatoes and cauliflower nuggets. The cauliflower nuggets were lumpy and cold. Inedible. When I asked about it, the only response was, "It's a shame." I had to pay for everything. A real shame, really.

Platform 1 - where does your path lead??? I've been going to Platform 1 once a week for almost 20 years, in the evenings after our dance practice. Before COVID-19 and the change of ownership/tenant, you could still get soup, salad, etc. at 10:15 p.m. - now you're lucky if they haven't already cleaned the coffee machine by that time. The kitchen apparently closes at 10 p.m. - but there's no indication of this anywhere. The waitresses are also very inattentive; it seems to me that they just close the place at midnight. The owner of the place seems to have made enough money and doesn't need any more, which is a real shame.

I always like the salad with chicken or pike-perch. But these days, it's almost exclusively leaf salad. It's called a mixed salad, though. I don't want just a bit of red cabbage or carrots or a slice of cucumber. A proper mixed salad. The staff is very good and friendly.

Opening hours not respected and got told that they will close much earlier as standard opening hours. What a rude welcoming when you are just about to order. Anyway, long story short got explained that not enough personnel etc... however more people turned up and all got told the same but the 'early' closing went up in hours. Very disappointing especially remembering it to be a great place that I know for over 20 years. This happened on Friday evening the 18.04.2025 (friends were already having diner and I joined around 9pm for drinks)

Lunch on Monday with the new colleagues, asparagus was still quite al dente and not quite as tasty as the Burgdorfer, but that's really complaining at the highest level from a northern German. I would recommend it. 🤩

The buffet for €20 was no longer what it felt like after an hour if you came at 10 a.m. and there was no sweet dessert. The service wasn't so great that you had to wait a long time for hot drinks. This restaurant is an absolute disappointment! We had reserved breakfast for 7 people and had to wait an incredible 40 minutes for our food. But that wasn't enough - when breakfast was finally served, it only consisted of 6-7 small pieces of baguette! We had to wait an additional 20 minutes for the croissants and remaining rolls. And that even though there were hardly any guests in the restaurant - just 4-5 occupied tables on a Saturday morning. Such poor service is completely unacceptable! I definitely cannot recommend this restaurant!

A beautiful bar and restaurant was built in a former train station building. The charm of the old train station with its wooden paneling has been preserved. The room layout is generous. The outside area has large terraces in the front and back with lots of tables and chairs with a shady and cozy atmosphere, which invites you to linger. The food is home-style and tastes very good! There are vegan and vegetarian dishes. The prices are in the middle range. Reservations are absolutely necessary as they are often well attended!

After the funeral service we were in platform 1, which is a good place to have lunch. A big compliment to the service because everything went so quickly. 👍 There were 30 people, we almost all had food at the same time. When we're nearby we'll come back for dinner. I actually really enjoy going to Gleis 1, the food is (very) good and you never have to wait long. Yesterday I ordered a sausage salad again - very tasty as usual, but unfortunately a (significantly) smaller portion than before. It is now no longer served on a salad plate, but on a smaller dinner plate (probably so that it is not noticeable). The result is annoying and unacceptable - you don't get full.

Here you will always receive friendly and attentive service.
