Wie immer sehr gutes Essen, eine gute Auswahl in der Karte. Ebenso eine zuvorkommende Bedienung am Tisch. In Kombination mit einer gemütlichen Runde und einem guten Ambiente sehr empfehlenswert. .

Nette freundliche Begrüßung, wir bekamen einen schönen Tisch.Der Service ist super Speisekarte wurde gereicht und nach Getränke gefragt.Getränke kamen schnell und Essensbestellung erfolgte.Unser Essen kam frisch und trotz vollem Haus schnell. DIE Gerichte waren sehr lecker und geschmackvoll angerichtet. Eine tolle Speisekarte uns hat es sehr gut dort gefallen .Es wurde immer wieder nachgeschaut ob noch alles da ist.Portionen waren voll aus reichend.Alles bestens kann man nur empfehlen. Bis zum nächsten Mal wir kommen gerne wieder.

Nach einem anstrengendem Sport-Tag sollte vor der Heimfahrt ins Saarland noch ein ordentliches Essen in den Bauch. Die Bewertung für dieses Restaurant machten Neugierig und die Leistung enttäuschte keineswegs. Es war superlecker und der Service war ebenfalls sehr gut. Dankeschön an die Verantwortlichen.

Wir kommen sonntag um 18 Uhr mit unseren 4 jahriges...um 19 uhr immer noch keines essen, das kind dreht durch, ist hungrig und mude. Ich frage die Kellnerin, sie meint es gibt grossen Tische...keinen entschuldigung, nichts. Als ob eine Stunde warte zeit die norm ware. Ich hatte wiener schnitzel mit pommes...der schnitzel war dick und trocken die Pommes mehlig, und beh....sind raus gegangen frustriert :(

Nach vielen Besuchen mit unterschiedlichen Gästen kann ich bestätigen, dass das Essen hier sehr gut schmeckt. Meistens wählen wir Steak, welches immer hervorragend ist. Für Gäste, die erstmalig hierherkommen, ist es vielleicht interessant zu erfahren, dass Beilagen und Sauce zum Steak separat in Schalen gereicht werden. Die Lendchen und Salate sind ebenfalls sehr lecker und empfehlenswert! Das Team ist sehr nett und aufmerksam. Die Gaststätte ist immer gut besucht, eine Reservierung daher auf jeden Fall zu empfehlen. Zu Stoßzeiten wird es grade im mittleren Gastraum relativ laut. Insgesamt nehme ich die Bestuhlung im neueren Teil als etwas beengt wahr. Der ältere Teil des Gastraums hat seinen eigenen Charme, ich sitze gern dort. Die Sitzgelegenheiten dort könnten eine neue Polsterung und neue Bezüge vertragen. Die sanitäre Einrichtung ist sauber, aber in die Jahre gekommen und bei vollem Haus knapp bemessen. Das zusammen lässt mich 4 von 5 Sternen für das Ambiente vergeben. Wir freuen uns schon auf den nächsten Besuch in der Gaststätte zu Post und empfehlen diesen Ort immer gerne und guten Gewissens an Freunde und Bekannte weiter.

Bei der Reservierung wurde nicht erwähnt, dass montags ein „Themenabend“ stattfindet … diesmal gab es Hamburger. Ungenießbar 😥. Hätte man uns das telefonisch oder bei der Ankunft gesagt, wären wir lieber zu McDonald’s gegangen … dort schmeckt es wenigstens besser als in der Gaststätte zur Post. Wir waren ja schließlich wegen der regulären Speisekarte dort 😥. Am wichtigsten ist aber, dass man online nichts über einen Themenabend finden konnte und auch bei der telefonischen Reservierung nichts davon erwähnt wurde. Schade, denn dann wären wir woanders essen gegangen. Die Speisekarte à la carte sieht toll aus. Ein viel besseres Erlebnis.

Gutes Deutsches Gutbürgerliche Restaurant mit wirklich guter Auswahl an klassischen deutschen Schnitzelgerichten und mehr. Schön das es sowas noch gibt. Preisleistung passt und der Service ist wirklich zuvorkommend. Als kleiner Hinweis, beim Kürstchen mit zwei kl. Schnitzel, bitte auch zwei mal Siegel-Ei und Brot vorsehen... 😎

Seit bald 10 Jahren lebe ich in Betzdorf und habe mir immer wieder vorgenommen, mal in der Post essen zu gehen, es aber nie umgesetzt. Gerade Wochenends war der Laden immer rappelvoll. Immer gut zu sehen von der Ampel zentral in Betzdorf aus. Heute war es dann endlich soweit! Im vorneherein haben wir mit etwas Vorlauf reserviert, was Pflicht sein sollte, weil wie gesagt immer gut besucht. Hier meine Einschätzung: 1. Ambiente: Von innen moderner als ich dem Laden von außen zugetraut hätte. Trotzdem klassisch der gut-bürgerliche Flair. Alles sehr ordentlich, macht einen guten, sauberen Eindruck. Gefällt auf jeden Fall. Einziger Wermutstropfen: Die Lautstärke war ziiiiemlich hoch, sobald der Laden gut gefüllt war. 2. Service: Die Bedienungen waren sehr freundlich und auf zack. Nichts zu beanstanden. 3. Qualität der Speisen: Vorneweg: Ich bin wählerisch beim Essen und auch kritisch, wenn die Qualität nicht passt. Gerade auch bei Schnitzeln gibt es echt starke Schwankungen unter den Gastronomen. Vorher gab es erstmal einen kleinen kostenlosen Gruß aus der Küche: Eine kleine Frikadelle mit einer Rahmsoße. Nette Aufmerksamkeit und schmeckte gut. Besonders hervorzuheben: Für Vegetarier gab es hier eine fleischlose Alternative, die proaktiv angeboten wurde. Top. Als Hauptspeise habe ich mich für das Pfeffer-Zwiebelschnitzel, aber vom Geflügel statt Schwein/ Kalb, entschieden. Auf den Punkt gebraten, super saftig und die Panade war der Hammer. Weiß allerdings nicht, ob bei Schwein/Rind eine andere Panade genommen wird. Das Fleisch hatte eine sehr gute Qualität zumindest meinem Empfinden nach. Die Rahmsoße war eher Standard, aber hat sich unaufdringlich eingefügt. Die Schmorzwiebeln waren für mich (in Kombi mit dem Fleisch) das Highlight. Schön schlunzig, ordentliche Röstaromen, ohne zu übertreiben. Bei den Sides hatten wir (5 Personen) alles was so ziemlich auszuwählen war. Pommes: Kamen frisch aus der Fritte, sehr lecker. Bratkartoffeln: Auch sehr gut, zumal diese nicht im Fett schwammen, was oft der Fall ist. Röstis: Haben mir von allen Sides an diesem Abend am Besten gefallen, vllt aber auch einfach nur, weil man diese nicht so oft isst. Der Beilagensalat mit Hausdressing war rund mit einer schönen Kombination aus einfachem Salat, Möhren, Kraut und Bohnen. Abgerundet mit einem Hauch Zitrone. Hat mich auch überrascht um ehrlich zu sein. Lecker. Die anderen Personen bei uns am Tisch hatten das vegetarische Sellerieschnitzel (kräftig gewürzt mit Brühe) sowie das Kalbsschnitzel (optisch irgendwie kein Highlight, geschmacklich aber lecker). Alles in allem war ich vom Essen sehr überrascht, so eine geschmackliche Vielfalt und Qualität hatte ich nicht wirklich erwartet. Vor allem in Bezug auf meine Wahl oben. Die Portionen sind ordentlich, da dürfte jeder satt werden. 4: Preise Für das, was wir an Speisen erhalten haben, vollkommen ok und nach meinem Gefühl nach in der gängigen Range bis definitiv preiswert. Da kann man nicht meckern. 5. Fazit - Ordentliche, moderne Gaststätte - Wirkte im Gastraum sehr sauber, die Toiletten haben wir nicht besucht, dazu können wir nichts sagen - Echt leckeres Essen zu fairen Preisen - Bedienungen haben alles im Griff - Kleiner Minuspunkt: Leider sehr laut Uns hat es sehr gut gefallen, wir kommen definitiv wieder.

It's only natural for us to allow a little extra time on a Saturday evening, even with a reservation. Despite the restaurant being fully booked, everything initially went smoothly with drinks, ordering, and food. That was it. While we were briefly asked for coffee or dessert during clearing, the entire middle section was without any service for a long time. Instead, the queue in the themed area grew longer, and we felt like we were being watched and very uncomfortable. People were obviously waiting for the tables to be vacated. An evening we were looking forward to came to an abrupt end. After all, who wants to sit for 30 minutes in front of empty glasses? The food was fine for us. My steak was borderline between medium and well-done. I didn't bother to complain, as the service was already working at its limit. A tip for the owner: responding to a factual review six months ago with "Then stay away from here!" should be well thought out, as everyone can read such things. You don't have to reply to us, as we will choose other restaurants around Betzdorf in the future.

Themed Mondays are always worth it! But the food is always delicious and great there.

If I could award 6 stars, I would do it without hesitation! We had an all-around fantastic evening at the Zur Post restaurant in Betzdorf. The food was truly delicious – from start to finish. What particularly impressed us, however, was the exceptional service and incredible flexibility of the team. One of our guests is vegetarian – and what can I say: They didn't just "leave something out," they thought it through! All schnitzel dishes can easily be ordered as celery schnitzel – and then you even get three(!) delicious celery schnitzels on your plate. That's hospitality in action. The service was also extremely friendly, warmly but never intrusively informing us about additional offerings like potato pancake evenings or schnitzel evenings. The menus were briefly explained to us, all questions were answered competently and kindly – ​​and even the chef's special was a vegetarian version! That's truly rare and shows how attentive each and every guest is here. The prices are absolutely reasonable, so you'll definitely enjoy eating here (and eat there often). A clear recommendation for us – we will definitely come back!

We've driven past the post office several times and noticed that it's always busy. Today we spontaneously called at 8 p.m. and were able to order at 8:30 a.m. The food was delicious, and above all, the service was very polite and courteous. We even got a welcome greeting from the kitchen (where else do you get that these days?). The atmosphere was very pleasant. We really enjoyed it and will be coming back often.

Were there for the second time today and it was an experience again. Starting with the great service, the waitresses were very attentive and extremely friendly, right up to the great food. Small, clear menu, but every dish is a poem. I have never eaten such a perfectly fried steak anywhere. It's definitely worth a visit. Really an insider tip. We'd love to come back.

Once and never again. Completely overcrowded small rooms. Familiar guests are given priority, strangers get the worst seat despite booking early. Quiet conversations for two - impossible given the volume. After half an hour we still didn't get a menu... the table next door was nice enough to hand over the menu. Service is zero. After several questions, the drinks were taken. After three quarters of an hour there was still no service to even place a food order. Luckily we were able to spontaneously go somewhere else to eat.

Won a voucher and was there with my husband on January 25th, 2025. The atmosphere is pleasantly inviting. The staff were very attentive and friendly across the board without being intrusive. The food was an absolute delight. Next time we'll just take the pensioner's portion so that we can manage dessert too. We will come back more often. Thank you for a great evening.

The menu has something for every taste. Whether schnitzel, pasta, steaks, salads, vegan and more. You receive a friendly welcome and the service is more than good and fast. Before every meal you order, you receive a greeting from the kitchen. The price-performance ratio is very good. Have been there several times and have always been very satisfied. After a spontaneous decision and a super short-term online reservation that was processed very quickly, we had a delightful experience. Really very tasty food and a special mention should be made of how child-friendly it is. The high chair was already ready and food was brought super quickly. Dog friendly place with very tasty food. However, the main course came in pieces, so you only had to finish the salad until the rest came. Due to the very full restaurant, the service wasn't seen very often. A visit is still recommended as the portion sizes were also very pleasant 👍🏼

Bruschetta were small pieces of toast with two slices of tomato on each. Weird interpretation. Shrimp potty was ok. Unfortunately the onion frying was dry. Fried potatoes were small cubes and not very tasty. Could have used more bacon and onions. High noise level in the restaurant. Still room for improvement.

The food is really very good, my steak was cooked to perfection, the side dishes were very tasty and the prices were appropriate for the portions. The waiters were perhaps a bit inexperienced due to their age, but that's the way it is. “The Post” is simply an absolute constant and has been sensationally further developed and expanded by Stephan Metzger. From service to... Everything was great. Super friendly service with local charm. We even come from Siegen. We still cook honestly here. You'll have to find a steak and schnitzel like that somewhere else. Decent Erzquell Pils rounds things off.

We met there for the 25-year-old class reunion. As is usually the case, the restaurant was fully booked...it was good that we had reserved, which I recommend to everyone. Despite the full capacity, the friendly service had everything under control. We didn't have to wait long for drinks or food. The food did not disappoint and fully met our expectations. Anyone who likes to eat meat, especially steak, will get their money's worth here. But the other dishes also looked great. The guest room is very inviting. Only in the sanitary area should some work be done and modernized. That doesn't fit with the rest of the otherwise highly recommended inn.

Zum ersten Mal in der Post: an einem Sonntagabend nahezu alle Tische besetzt. „Gut, dass wir reserviert haben!“, dachte ich. Aber - pünktlich angekommen - war der reservierte Tisch noch besetzt. Ok, kurzes Warten, dann an denTisch. Die Servicekraft war der Meinung, es sei dort zu eng und bat uns, um die Ecke zu gehen. Und? Wir hatten dort ein wunderschönes Plätzchen! Speise- und Getränkekarte gut, Servicekräfte sehr aufmerksam, ohne aufdringlich zu sein. Der Gruß aus der Küche? Schmackhaft! Zwischendurch der Hinweis, mit dem Essen könne es ein wenig dauern. Das war gut kommuniziert! Und es kam dann nach einer längeren Weile und: hat uns alle überzeugt! Gutes Fleisch, leckere Beilagen, auch das Hausdressing schmackhaft! Die sog. gut-bürgerliche Küche, es gibt sie noch! Die Post hat uns nicht zum letzten Mal gesehen…

Very narrow, very loud, long waiting time. I ordered 5 king prawns in garlic oil on wild herb salad. I ate 5 king prawns that got a little too much heat on a normal salad with a yogurt sauce that was too sweet. I complained about the lack of wild herbs, but received no response.
