A very nice restaurant. Great service, everyone was very friendly and the food was highly recommended.

The duck was with orange sauce and therefore way too sweet. This wasn't on the menu and I personally really couldn't eat it. The complaint was not addressed and I went home hungry. My companions also had to choke down the duck so as not to cause an unnecessary fuss in front of the company. In my opinion, unprofessional, as the waitress could have at least offered an alternative.

Today, 8 of us, very hungry, went to eat in this restaurant... really very good, home-style food... if we are in the area again we will definitely eat there again...

We ordered the Thai curry from the lunch menu. Unfortunately that was nothing. They should definitely take that off the menu.

Went there for lunch this afternoon, Once duck and once schnitzel with fries. Duck was stuffed with onions and oranges, it wasn't on the menu but you could eat it. Schnitzel with fries was brought, Fries were cold, then everything was taken back and new fries were made, schnitzel was then put in the microwave and was therefore no longer edible. The service was always friendly, she can't help it, but the boss shouldn't serve dishes like that. It's a shame we've been here a lot, but that's about to change.

Cozy Bavarian inn with good food and good beer. The venison goulash was a poem and such a large portion that I almost didn't finish it. Super friendly service, you'll be happy to come back.

My Grillpfsndl was very good and plentiful. The meat is very juicy. The salad dressing tasted very good. And what's special is the aperitif: Landauer Wiesenspritz with dried leaves of cornflowers, roses and marigolds. Simply nice! We'll be back

A very authentic brewery/guesthouse in Landau an der Isar. Definitely worth a stop if you’re in town. Time has stood still here. The beer garden is small but fine and very gemütlich. The food was delicious and there was attention to small details in the table setting . Well recommended.

This was our fifth time at Oberer Krieger because it simply tastes best there. The Krieger Bräu Schnitzel is a delicacy. The salads are also highly recommended on hot days as they are freshly prepared and provide refreshment. But no matter what you order, you will definitely be full. The beer garden is small but nice. A large tree decorates the beer garden and the old walls invite you to enjoy. The service is great, all the employees are very nice and accommodating. Definitely recommended for anyone who wants to take a short stopover or simply go out for a leisurely meal!

The food was very good. The food came really quickly, but a salad had been sitting in the kitchen for a while. The portions were almost too big. The ambience is also very nice. It wasn't too crowded and therefore not too loud in the beer garden.

Our food was really very good... but we're happy to accept the slightly longer waiting time! Our friendly waitress really did her best and the young man behind the counter was also very concerned about our well-being...he was at our table several times to ask if everything was to our satisfaction...respect! We were guests in the really beautiful beer garden on Thursday, early in the evening. From the daily menu we ordered the asparagus with small schnitzel and the tagliatelle with chanterelles. The asparagus tasted good. The ribbon noodles with chanterelles are not recommended. Why do you put a dish on the daily menu and then use canned chanterelles en masse? It was a very large portion of pasta with cream and canned chanterelles. No sophistication in either dish. Therefore disappointed. It's a waste of money when it comes to the pasta dish. The service was on point. Drinks and food also came very quickly. There was only one other table occupied at 5:30 p.m. The very beautiful and quiet beer garden is praiseworthy. We recommend the beer garden to enjoy a drink when the weather is nice. Unfortunately, the food didn't impress us.

We were there for lunch on a Sunday. There were also 3 larger groups in a separate room and one in the beer garden. We had to wait about 30 minutes until someone came to take our order. Then we had to wait another 30 minutes for the drinks and then the food came pretty quickly. But we had to wait an hour to pay and we said about 5 times that we wanted to pay. The company in the beer garden also walked out at times because they weren't served at all. The food was actually quite good.

The drinks came after 30 minutes and we were lucky. The salad was forgotten during the meal and we received the bill after three requests after a wait of 40 minutes

We were passing through and found the restaurant using Google Maps. We sat in the beer garden - small drawback: unfortunately there were lots of small flower stalks flying from the tree... For dinner we had Wiener Schnitzel with fried potatoes and ox spare ribs with fries and BBQ sauce as well as a cola and a juice spritzer and espresso for €47.50. Food was plentiful and very tasty. Price/performance perfectly fine.

Roast pork was definitely not fresh from the same day, it fell apart on its own and was straw dry. That just comes from warming up. The sauerkraut was no longer recognizable as cabbage, it was mushy because it had already been done (too often) warmed up! And way too much pepper. It's a shame that something like this is sold, you pay for it. People like that damage their own industry because you don't want to go to a business anymore if you experience something like that!!! Unfortunately, they are not the only ones.

We have been there three times since the tenant changed. The first time the food was ok, the second time it was good, which is why we went there for the third time yesterday and unfortunately the food yesterday wasn't worth the money. The cheese spaetzle didn't taste like anything, the fried potatoes had probably been waiting to land on the plate for a long time and the schnitzel was a bit pale. It was busy, maybe the kitchen can't handle it. Unfortunately, the fluctuating difference in quality of the food only results in 3 stars. The service is always quick and friendly, despite the large number of guests. That is not a given either.

The four of us had a very nice evening today. I reserved a table using the online tool on the homepage. It worked really well and I've never seen anything like it in a restaurant before. 👍🏻 We received a very friendly welcome and were quickly shown to our table. The place was packed, which is a good sign. We were served quickly and quickly provided with drinks. Our meals were also prepared very freshly and quickly. The very short waiting time was not a problem at all. The onion roast medium rare was on point. The potatoes maybe a little too salty. But that was on the table for seasoning and is always a matter of taste. The apple cakes for dessert were an absolute dream. 😋 We won't leave the restaurant without this dessert. We'll be back soon. This clean restaurant "Zum upper Kriegerbräu" in the upper town of Landau is still a real, traditional Bavarian, cozy inn where you can enjoy good home cooking at reasonable prices. The portions are huge (packaging is provided to take leftovers home with you). The taste and preparation of the dishes are fantastic. The service is totally quick, friendly and attentive. There are free parking spaces in front of the house. We'd love to come back. Thank you!

Mittagsgerichte sind sehr zu empfehlen. Das Schnitzel ist sehr dünn und hat eine knusprige Panade. Serviert wird mit Pommes und Preiselbeeren. Auf Wunsch auch Ketchup und Mayonnaise. Bedienung ist auf zack und sehr freundlich. Die Dame hinter der Theke ist öfter am Handy statt sich um die Getränke zu kümmern (mussten sie mehrmals erinnern)

Hier war das Essen richtig gut. Sowas hatte ich schon lange nicht mehr. Currywurst richtig gut gewürzte. Schwanenpfanne die Spätzle a Traum,bei der Soße schmeckte man richtig den Pilzgeschmack. Zwiebelrostbraten sehr gut Fleisch Geschmack. Leider für mich zu stark durch. Aber dies richtig zu treffen is ja auch schwierig und jeder stellt es sich anders vor. Passte auf alle Fälle. Getränke gut, Bier gut. Personal sehr freundlich und nett, 👍🏻 Was mir nicht gefallen hatte der grobe und Laute Ton in der Küche. Da konnten wir einiges hören. Aber dies geht mich nichts an. Komme auf jeden Fall wieder.

Wir waren heut auf der Durchreise in diesem urigen Wirtshaus. Wir haben selten so gut und typisch gegessen. Das Hauseigene Bier ,muss man probiert haben.

Tagesgericht war sehr gut und reichlich! Ich war seit dem Pächterwechsel 2x da!Letztes Mal mit Verwandten aus München.Ich hatte Reis,der nicht gsnz gar war und Hühnchenfleisch mit Currysoße,diese war sehr gut,aber das Gemüse war rih und sah sehr grob aus. Heute waren im Gulasch,dessen Soße sehr sauer schmeckte, rohe Semmelknödel.Die Bedienung sagte ich solle mein Besteck in das Essen stecken.Sie nahm es mit und ich bekam Kartoffelknödel,Im Gulasch befanden sich nun noch die Reste der rohen,nun zerdrückten Semmelknödel.Leider nicht sehr appetitlich.Das war's für mich.

Sind nur auf der Durchreise gewesen zum Wellness.Da ich Mal wieder Hunger hatte suchte meine Frau ein Lokal in der Nähe.Der obere Krieger (hatte geöffnet und warme Küche Uhrzeit ca. 13:15) wurden wir von der Gaststätte positiv überrascht. Sehr freundliches Personal super Biergarten und hervorragendes Essen. Diese Gaststätte kann man nur weiterempfehlen. Wenn wir wieder in dieser Richtung unterwegs sind machen wir bestimmt halt.

Endlich mal ein echt bayrischer Biergarten in Landau... und dann noch direkt in der oberen Stadt...

Das Beste Wirtshaus in dem ich bis jetzt gegessen habe. Die Nudeln mit Pfifferlingen in Trüffel-Sahnesauce waren der Hammer! Man findet Traditionelle Gerichte wie man es von einem Wirtshaus erwartet, aber die Wochenkarte macht es sehr abwechslungsreich. Die Dunkelbiersoße schmeckt Einwand frei und das Salatdressing ist so super, dass ich davon sogar schon was für zuhause mitgenommen habe. Alles in allem Top!

Leider seit Besitzerwechsel nicht mehr ganz so gut wie davor. Wir waren ehrlicherweise ein bisschen enttäuscht. Das Essen ist immer noch gut, aber eben leider eher durchschnittlicher geworden. Schade!
