Very tasty, huge portions and very friendly service

Compared to before, the place has declined a lot. The portions have become so small that you can no longer feel full. There is no taste either. All frozen goods! Salad dressing is not enough, you can also graze in a meadow.

The staff was very friendly and nice. We had a special table with a corner for our dog, which I thought was great. Our dog was immediately given a bowl of water without having to say anything. The food was delicious and rich. What I didn't like was that there were a lot of fries under the schnitzel, which made them soggy. But otherwise the service was very quick and simply nice.

Very cozy and rustic. I'm going to spend my birthday there this year with the family. Price performance fits

There were four of us in the black sheep today. The service was very friendly!!!!Food came very quickly. I was really looking forward to the food because of the many positive reviews. We had burgers, Hawaiian schnitzel and grill plate No.2. It tasted okay, but it wasn't anything special. A lot of ready-made stuff, which you definitely tasted. Fried potatoes were dripping with fat, the meat was unfortunately completely dry and fried to death and overall all the dishes were very tasteless. However, the fries were very tasty and crispy. Unfortunately, in our opinion, the price/performance ratio is not justified. There should have been more taste. Very unfortunate. As I said, it was ok, you could definitely eat it, but if I eat for a certain price, I expect the food to be of good quality and delicious.

Fortunately, the old flair was retained after the reopening. And the portions are still large and delicious. We are very satisfied!

Great service. Very friendly and attentive. We didn't have to wait long for the food. A notice: The portions are quite large. There are free storage containers for the “leftovers”.

What is there to complain about here? Nothing! An absolute recommendation. We ate our way through the schnitzel menu here - the meat was consistently soft and well breaded. All of the sauces are recommended. It's best to take the “Schnitzel Duo” - Here you can order two sauces on one schnitzel and can therefore try more. The side dishes are also good - the fries are fried until crispy and the side salad is cut into bite-sized pieces and served with delicious dressings. The selection of drinks is large - there are also “special” drink variations, such as cherry-wheat. The service is very courteous, fast and humorous. The prices are reasonable for today's conditions. The atmosphere is very inviting. In summer you can sit outdoors in a well-kept beer garden and in winter you can stay warm and cozy in a special “ski hut atmosphere”. Any time!

The two of us ate there. The service was great and very accommodating. The food was great, but unfortunately it tasted lukewarm. Otherwise everything was great. I'd love to come back again.

My husband and I were there for the first time today and we are more than thrilled! The food was super tasty and the price was absolutely reasonable for the quantity and quality! However, I would also like to particularly praise the service staff, as really good service is rare these days, unfortunately. You were greeted very friendly by the girls and asked to come to the table. Drinks and food were brought very quickly. Several people regularly checked in to see if everything was okay or if there was anything else they wanted, even though there was a lot going on that evening! Everything is just right here. Food great, atmosphere totally cozy and staff A1! We will definitely come more often! Thank you for the lovely evening! ☺️

A very good restaurant that focuses on serving schnitzel in different variations. The staff is very friendly. The price is reasonable for the size of the portions. There is a separate map for children, which can also be colored in during your stay.

Two stars because the service was on the ball and the drinks were refilled quickly. For me the only positive thing. The food is like a french fries shop, frozen goods, fried, 0 taste. The lamb was overcooked, salad dressing from the bottle [ready yogurt sauce]. The ribs tasted like fatty minced meat. For the peppery prices I would have expected more quality, so I would have preferred to save on the portions. It's a shame, I'm really disappointed, the store was recommended by so many people...

The schnitzel was very tasty and everyone in service was very nice and accommodating. There is no changing table in the men's toilet, otherwise I have nothing else to say about the facilities.

The food is great, the service is great and the ambience (especially in the old building) is great. We have been there many times and have never been disappointed! I especially have to praise the vegan burger, very tasty. But the remaining dishes are also recommended, and the large selection of schnitzel dishes is particularly worth highlighting! We won't be there for the last time. :D

Particularly nice service, there were four of us there, but I can only tell from hearing that it tasted good. Unfortunately I had eaten beforehand because it was planned quite spontaneously by the other three. But the gentleman who serves is in a really good mood

Last night we returned to the Black Sheep after a long time. And like the previous times, we weren't disappointed either. On the contrary, our waiter was so smart and always on his toes. He made recommendations about what would go well with the dishes. Like the note about the sauces. (Schnitzel Duo) He definitely does his job with passion. He made the evening perfect. The food was of course also first class. 🤤 The drinks came to the table very quickly. Kudos to the girls for that too. We'd love to come back.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A visit to “The Black Sheep” in Weidenau is always a pleasure, especially if you choose the large pepper schnitzel! The schnitzel was perfectly prepared – crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The pepper sauce was aromatic and had just the right amount of spiciness, which rounded out the dish wonderfully. The portion was generous, so you leave the table full and satisfied. The atmosphere in the restaurant is cozy and the staff is extremely friendly and attentive. Absolutely recommended for anyone who is in the area and looking for a culinary highlight!

Except for the late troublemaker who ran through the restaurant in his bathrobe and frightened the guests, it was very nice.

Unfortunately, the quality decreases from year to year, the schnitzel is now very dry and the edges are very large and when the food is picked up, 19% VAT is unfortunately charged instead of 7%. After consultation it was said “no one does that in Siegen”, thank God that is not the case everywhere, dear Black Sheep Team.

A very cozy & quaint restaurant. There are nice corners and niches where you can sit down, you can switch off here and you're on your own (for the most part). Very nice service staff. Quality of the food is good, the chef knows what he's doing. There are enough parking spaces available. No signs indicating where to go to the restaurant...A bit strange and in need of improvement, especially for guests who want to visit the location for the first time. Prices for dishes in the upper midfield and completely reasonable. Toilets clean. In the men's toilet there is a musty smell in the air that is actually familiar from damp places that then start to smell like that at some point, so no room scent helps anymore. All in all, a good, traditional restaurant with charm and definitely worth a visit.

The restaurant is divided into two areas. A quaint and modern area. We chose the rustic area, which we really liked! The service was very friendly and the food was very tasty. I can recommend it!

As a guest, you don't like to be rushed when it comes to choosing drinks. A lukewarm to cold espresso is unacceptable. The food was passable.

Always super tasty food, top service and a nice boss. We always enjoy going there. The only thing I don't like is the recently introduced rule that you only have 2 hours and then the table is reserved for the next person. So after eating, you can sit and have a drink for as long as you want, but unfortunately that's no longer possible if you reserve early. Unless you reserve a table from 8 p.m., you can stay until it closes.

Waited for an hour for the food. I had a big chicken steak (2 chicken breasts) and chicken schnitzel. Both "so-called" steaks were half-cooked, I still decided to gulp them and didn't want to wait another hour. The chicken schnitzel was too bland and dry. I had to literally push it from the throat with a drink. Okay, the ice teas were really good, I like them. And the ambiance is also really nice, giving you vintage vibes. We also found a hair in the schnitzel. It would be not be fair if I say the fries were good. They were dead dry as if they have been pulled out from a famine-struck land. Lastly, the waiters were not friendly or perhaps they were weary and exhausted. At least, they could smile and talk and just not take it for granted that customers go there.

There's not much to say, the food is always delicious, large selection, friendly service and cozy atmosphere, great design.

The food was great, the service was also something that bothered us and it was really tough that you only had 2 hours. Of course, if the food doesn't come through the company until after 1 hour 20, it's not a comfortable meal yet. Unfortunately we couldn't/were not allowed to order dessert because our 2 hours were up and the boss made it clear to his waitresses that we should pay by pointing at the clock. It's a shame that they treat their guests like that there. For us it was the last time, so we recommend it for a quick grab and go, but not for a relaxed evening and enjoying your food.

Unfortunately the food was a total failure. I ordered lamb. The meat was hardly seasoned and tasted of nothing. But the worst thing was the service, very unfriendly and you seemed overwhelmed. We had to look for cutlery and serving items. Unfortunately not recommended, that was the first and last time for me.

Pleasant atmosphere. The frozen Camembert schnitzel was a complete disappointment for me. Schnitzel lay half on top of the salad, which was warm and soft. The Camembert prevented the schnitzel from being cooked in the middle; the breading resembled a spread. Fries were room temperature & bland. The service was more than overwhelmed and unfriendly. There were 2 service staff responsible for almost 70 guests in the room. The food came and the cutlery and napkins were missing. In my opinion, the starter baguette is also a ready-made product.

Food was great, just a little too noisy in the shop

The food was very good, even considering that it is not just a restaurant but also a beer bar. The prices are also okay since they have generally increased. The service was courteous, friendly and always quick. The ambience is of course a matter of taste, but I like the woody style indoors and if that's too oppressive for you, you can sit in the more modern and airy summer garden. I just don't think the plexiglass panes, which probably come from the stricter Corona times, are so nice, but you quickly no longer notice them. All in all, another successful evening.

If you want to order a decent schnitzel, Schaf has been the right place for many years. In my opinion, the staff also ensures that a pre-order makes sense. Friendly, reliable, that's why I like going here and others seem to think so too (the sheep is always well attended).

Ich war schon öfter dort essen Einfach leckeres Essen der Service ist immer gut drauf und zuvorkommend egal ob man zu zweit sechst oder mit 25Personen zum essen kommt. Das ganze wird von einem sehr stimmigen und detaillierten Ambiente abgerundet

Schönes rustikales ☝️aber nicht altes☝️ Ambiente. Dort isst man Schnitzel in einer guten Vielfalt und Menge. Es ist gut besucht und reservieren ist da ganz sinnig. Allem in allem eine gute Adresse fürs Schnitzel essen. Personal freundlich und sympathisch.
