Gaststätte Johanns in Linsengericht

January 7, 2025 I was on the way home and just wanted a quick tomato soup and an apple spritzer. It didn't take long before the friendly waitress came with a bowl of what was supposed to be tomato soup. The contents were just a can of shredded tomatoes warmed up in the microwave. No salt, no pepper, no sugar, no olive oil, no herbs or other spices (except the basil leaf on top)... nothing. Then the cook put the bowl with the canned tomatoes in the microwave and left it lukewarm. The chef showed me as a guest all the contempt he probably has for guests. No thanks... the store won't live long... and they don't have to wonder why... sorry

The food is truly delicious! We visit the restaurant often and highly recommend it. Our dog is always welcome, too. Please don't be put off by a full parking lot; it's usually just the shooters, and there are still seats available in the restaurant!

Super friendly. The price-performance ratio is definitely good. We went there three times with different friends, and everything was great every time. I can confidently recommend it.

I had food delivered about 7km away, and there was a €5 surcharge on the bill, which the nice delivery guy didn't mention when I ordered. Why not? It's obvious, he wanted to make my decision about Caesars Kitchen easier... I get it! And I hope the driver gets the money, because there was no tip for this delivery. He just needs to understand that bad reviews aren't good for business. Let me put it this way: if you want to order several dishes, the €5 surcharge is fine, but I would have refused it for just one dish, though I didn't know that. The food, a cream schnitzel, was okay; I was hungry. ;)
