Ein toller, freundlicher und schneller Service. Das Essen ist ländlich rustikal und die schwäbische Küche geschmacklich ein Gaumenschmaus. Ich gehe dort schon seit Jahren hin und wurde bis jetzt noch nie enttäuscht. Sehr zu empfehlen, egal ob alleine oder in einer Gruppe. Plätze sollten allerdings im Voraus reserviert werden, da die Gaststätte - vor allem an Feiertagen/Wochenenden - stark frequentiert ist.

Am 05.06.2026 waren wir mit 6 Personen im Hirsch essen und waren sehr begeistert. Den Tisch hatten wir am Vortag reserviert, was man denke ich auch unbedingt tun sollte, da dass Restaurant einen guten Zuspruch hat. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und vor allem auf Zack :). Getränke wurden schnell gebracht und auch das Essen hatten alle ohne lange Wartezeiten (gefühlt ca. 15min - 20min) bekommen. Jeder von uns war sehr zufrieden und vor allem war des Essen Mega-Legggaaa. Wenn wir wieder in Rottenburg sind, werden wir bestimmt wieder vorbei schauen. Und noch ein paar Fotos vom Essen.

Es war heiß... die Lage im Freien war traumhaft. Auch der Service war hervorragend. Das Essen war speziell... sehr teuer... die Auswahl vor Ort war begrenzt...

Hervorragende Gaststätte, super leckere schwäbische Spezialitäten. Sehr leckere Schnitzel und Rostbraten. Auch das Hauseigene dunkle Hirsch Bier schmeckt hervorragend. Immer eine Empfehlung. Auch der Service ist immer nett und sehr zuvorkommend.

Tolle Lokalität, leider 1 Punkt Abzug, es war zu laut.

Urige Gaststätte mir sehr freundlichem Service. Wir waren fünf Tage in Rottenburg und haben dreimal dort gegessen. Unter anderem sehr leckere, selbst gemachte Maultaschen, werden donnerstags immer frisch gemacht (man kann sie auch eingeschweißt nach Hause mitnehmen). Faire Preise. Unbedingte Empfehlung.

Rustikal eingerichtetes Restaurant mit einem flotten und freundlichen Service. Das Essen war wirklich sehr lecker – besonders das Schnitzel war geschmacklich top. Für das Auge hätte eine kleine Garnitur das Gericht noch schön abgerundet, aber geschmacklich überzeugt es auch so voll und ganz 😁 Tolles Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis.

Maultaschen-Tag am Donnerstag – einfach mega lecker! Frische, hervorragend schmeckende Maultaschen mit gutem Salat vom Buffet und dazu ein köstliches hauseigenes Bier. Sehr aufmerksamer, super freundlicher Service – sogar Wasser für die Hunde wurde sofort gebracht. Uriges, gemütliches Ambiente mit angenehm viel Platz zwischen den Tischen.

Bin soooo enttäuscht! Komme immer, wenn ich in Rottenburg bin zum Hirsch. Jetzt nie wieder! Hatte telefonisch einen Tisch für 3 reserviert. Am Telefon hat mir die Dame gesagt, gerne kein Problem. Als wir kamen hat die Kellnerin uns in den Keller zum Tisch geschickt. Ich fragte dann nach einem anderen Tisch, da meine Mutter nicht so viele Treppen gehen kann. Dann hat eine etwas unverschämte Dame am Tresen die junge Kellnerin angemotzt: Dass das egal wäre, es werden keine Tische getauscht! Dann hieß es noch von der Dame, dass mir am Telefon schon gesagt wurde, dass ich in den Keller muss, was so nicht war. ICH MUSS MICH NICHT ANLÜGEN LASSEN. Wäre mir das gesagt worden, hätte ich mich mit meiner Mutter, die sehr schwer zu Fuß unterwegs ist, garnicht auf den Weg gemacht. Dieses Restaurant wird kein Geld mehr von mir bekommen.

Wir waren auf der Durchreise und obwohl das Restaurant nahezu voll war, haben wir ohne Reservierung einen schönen Tisch für 2 Personen bekommen. Trotz des vollen Gasthauses wurden wir freundlich bedient und zuvorkommend bedient. Wartezeit: keine. Das Essen war perfekt.

I think the Hirsch restaurant is simply fantastic. I love going there when I want to eat game, and I find the Black Hirsch beer especially delicious with it. The service is superb! The staff is friendly, and the ambiance is charming, especially on the floor with the copper brewing tank.

The waitresses are very friendly and attentive, and the food has always been excellent. Regarding seating: the terrace is a great spot in the summer, as is the ground floor. I didn't find the basement quite as impressive last time. Nevertheless, I'd gladly come back!

Great food, everything was fine.

Excellent venison ragout, top-quality tender meat with plenty of delicious, rich sauce – not some powdered, watery concoction. Fresh, firm spaetzle that hadn't been reheated in hot water. Plus, a fresh, self-service salad bar with three portion sizes. In short, a classic, delicious meal, true culinary art, not convenience food. Thank you!

It was worth it again, the detour from Lake Constance via Rottenburg am Neckar to the Gasthaus Hirsch. Excellent food and very attentive staff. I was here last year in April, and everything was just as good as it was then.

My favorite restaurant. We often come here during Fasnet, but also occasionally during the year. The food is incredibly delicious and the value for money is good. The service is really attentive. Sometimes a little fast, but nonetheless very friendly.

I was there for dinner with a group this week. I ordered a sausage salad with bread. The sausage salad tasted good, but the bread was old, dry, and hard, and that was €11 for a small sausage salad. So, I wouldn't recommend it.

The Hirsch restaurant in Rottenburg am Neckar impresses all around! The Swabian cuisine is authentic, delicious, and lovingly prepared. I was particularly impressed by the attentive service and the relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Anyone who appreciates regional specialties and values ​​quality at a fair price should definitely stop by here. I'm already looking forward to my next visit to Hirsch!

We had a delicious meal. Good, traditional Swabian food at reasonable prices. The salad buffet was also very good.

Wednesday evening, 7 p.m. The Hirsch was packed, but the super friendly staff made it possible for us to get a table after all. The food (onion roast beef with spaetzle) was excellent, but if you're really hungry, I recommend an appetizer or salad with your main course. The portions were sufficient, but not generous. The beer was excellent. However, I won't be coming back during rush hour; the noise level (measured at 90 decibels) was unbearable at times and made conversation difficult. But otherwise, I can highly recommend the Hirsch in Rottenburg.

After a four-hour motorcycle ride in the rain, I ended up stranded in Rottenburg and ate at the "Hirsch." I haven't had such a good meal in a long time! The service was prompt, and I felt really comfortable! Thank you!

For the first time in about 10 years, we returned to the Hirsch for dinner with a group of eight. Everything was absolutely perfect. The menu is extensive without being overwhelming; everyone is sure to find something to their liking. All dishes were served at the same time, even though it was quite busy. The timing in the kitchen and service was spot on. All the food was of excellent quality, and everything tasted amazing. The service was super friendly and attentive without being intrusive. Mediocre food at normal prices. Unfortunately I don't really understand the good reviews. The food is OK and you can eat it BUT it's unfortunately not a highlight. I had fish fillet with potatoes that were soaked in so much butter that you couldn't really taste the fish anymore, the pile of roasted dried almonds on top made this even worse. The plates were also presented with absolutely no love; a bit of parsley on top and that was about it as far as decoration goes. This was reflected in all the plates at the table. (There were 8 people). The salad buffet was unfortunately just as loveless and unappealing. A real shame because the service was really very attentive and helpful. The decor is unfortunately very old-fashioned, as is the menu, which is completely overloaded with logos and advertising and generally has a very busy feel.

Down in the vaulted cellar, it smells absolutely musty, and it gave me an allergy attack. The walls are simply damp down there. I'm sure you're not supposed to breathe in the spores. The others noticed the smell, too. On top of that, it's expensive and not tasty. You pay over 20 euros for lentils with unseasoned, hard potatoes and a small drink. The service is friendly. I still won't be coming back.

It was our first time at the "Hirsch," but not our last! The waiters were very friendly and attentive, constantly checking to see if everything was okay. The food was plentiful and delicious, and the salad buffet was very varied. Excellent value for money. The calculations on the last page of the menu are also very informative. You can see what a host has to manage with the income from catering.

A convenient location in the center of Rottenburg. The atmosphere is beautiful and well-kept, even outside, in the beer garden. The service is prompt, very friendly, and attentive. The best meal so far on my bike tour along the Neckar River. It was my first time trying typical regional food, and I have to say, everything was delicious. The service, specifically the two girls who served us outside, was so quick and super friendly. Tip: Beer drinkers, try the dark stag. It's only available here and is incredibly delicious.

Best German cuisine. We have been there several times and as always it was very good. Very friendly staff takes care of the guests. It's a shame there aren't 6 stars. 🙂

Beautiful old restaurant in the heart of Rottenburg, with hearty, delicious dishes as well as good home cooking. The in-house beers are also highly recommended. The entire staff is friendly, on top of their game and well prepared for any influx of guests. Drinks and food were received promptly, served quickly and tastefully prepared. A reservation is always recommended due to the good attendance, which speaks for itself. It was super tasty, very pleasant there, clear recommendation. We'll definitely come back.

Stress from the very first minute, even though it's 8:30 p.m. on a Saturday night. Please order quickly, eat quickly, and leave quickly. Tables are cleared while you're eating, and you're expected to pay from 9:30 p.m. onwards so you can leave before 10:00 p.m. Nobody needs this kind of thing.

Unexcited regional cuisine and inn coziness since 1785 The Hirsch brewery inn at the train station in the picturesque town of Rottenburg has been serving its guests with Swabian cuisine and home-brewed beer for over 230 years. The mix of guests on the terrace testifies to the popularity of the inn: a cross-generational mix of locals, cyclists, families and tourists. The authentic inn atmosphere, the delicious beer and the beautiful terrace guarantee relaxed enjoyment. Despite the generally noticeable staff shortage at the moment, the service is quick and cheerful - the girls are racing to ensure that the guests don't miss anything. The “Taste the South” member company offers authentic Baden-Württemberg cuisine and hospitality. The dishes marked accordingly on the menu guarantee regional origin, sustainability and fresh preparation. My onion roast, which was perfectly fried upon request, impressed with very good meat quality, braised and fried onions and dark, aromatic gravy - the hand-scraped, buttered spaetzle made the experience perfect. In summer temperatures, a fresh, yeast-cloudy Hirsch beer tastes great. My wife was able to try the entire range of Swabian regional cuisine with the Swabian plate she ordered: delicious potato salad, spaetzle, Maultäschle, meat patties with fried onions and gravy. Conclusion: Very good traditional cuisine in a calm, cozy inn atmosphere at reasonable prices.
