Gaststätte Haus Siebrecht in Gelsenkirchen

I went bowling there, and unfortunately, the visit was disappointing. The staff seemed very stressed from the start and were sometimes quite rude. It was particularly annoying that I had to wait about an hour for a simple Coke. Furthermore, we were served drinks in 0.4-liter glasses, even though this size wasn't listed on the menu. Card payment wasn't possible either – only cash was accepted, which wasn't mentioned beforehand. Overall, not a pleasant experience.

We've eaten there several times. Yesterday, there were six of us, and we were all very satisfied. The food was excellent, and the service was superb. We felt very comfortable.

Siebrecht's restaurant in Gelsenkirchen-Ückendorf has become a real favorite of ours. The owner still cooks himself – and you can taste it in every dish. The service is attentive, warm, and always cheerful. You immediately feel welcome. I'd especially like to highlight the steak, which is always freshly seared outside – cooked to perfection every time and simply fantastic. The fried potatoes are also a dream: crispy, aromatic, and perfectly seasoned. You get excellent value for money here, and most importantly: you'll definitely leave satisfied! A particular highlight is the bottled wine, which isn't officially on the menu, but the owner is happy to order it especially for his guests. Just ask – from Lugana to Chardonnay to other delicacies, anything is possible. And as a thoughtful touch, there's always a complimentary dessert: ice cream with hot cherries – delicious! The freshly tapped beer is also excellent and perfectly chilled – a real treat. All in all: A fantastic restaurant with honest cuisine, great service, and a lot of passion. Highly recommended!

The ambiance, food, and service were good to very good. What wasn't appreciated was that, upon request, individual packets of mayonnaise were offered, which didn't even taste good.

Really great: we spontaneously got a large table (and that on a steak night - the place was packed). The service was great: friendly, quick-witted - just right. The food was impeccable and very tasty throughout. I can absolutely recommend it 👍

Let's go on the scavenger hunt! And then, please, schnitzel Ückendorf—what could be better? Otherwise, the menu is lengthy, so there's something for everyone. Nice atmosphere, excellent service. The quality of the side salad is a bit lacking. Oh, and one thing: Please bring your hunger or have it packed.

We went to Haus Siebrecht for coffee after a funeral. Lovingly set tables and a varied and delicious selection of sandwiches and cakes awaited us. Attentive and friendly service rounded it all off. I can only say thank you and recommend Haus Siebrecht without reservation.

We always feel very comfortable there. The atmosphere is cozy, the staff friendly and welcoming, and the food selection is good. Unfortunately, we were a bit disappointed last time. We had schnitzel that didn't taste fresh to us, but rather like a cheap frozen product from a discount store. I really hope we just had a bad day and things will be better next time.

After a phone call, we visited for the first time on July 17, 2025, with four people. The reception was extremely friendly. The dishes we ordered were prepared to perfection, and the salad that came with them was also beyond reproach. The service throughout was consistently attentive, friendly, and cheering with lighthearted remarks, without ever being intrusive. At the end, there was a delicious sponsored ice cream dessert, making the evening a complete success in every respect. Our summary is therefore... These people know their business, the service is top-notch, the food is top-notch, and we will definitely be back. Thank you very much for the lovely evening and this service.

It took 50 minutes for the schnitzel to be served, which I found quite long. Otherwise, the food was excellent, and the staff was very friendly.

Completely satisfied, this is a master chef! If you don't enjoy your food, there's no help for you! It's a shame there are so few restaurants left where the work is done with such dedication!

Were a group of 9 people. Even my friend found something gluten-free which the chef discussed with her. Everything was very tasty and everyone was happy. Always my pleasure

We were eating and drinking there a week ago with around 17 people. The food was very good and the service was very friendly. But at the end there wasn't even a schnapps! What you get in every chip shop. The landlord was making the wrong savings and it was unanimously clear to us that we would never do it again! If you don't have this little nightcap for your guests and are too stingy, we won't go there anymore! There are enough restaurants in Gelsenkirchen that are happy to offer their guests a schnapps after their meal on the house!

Overall, a well-rounded affair. There's still some room for improvement, but overall it's a successful meal. You have to look for parking spaces.

Was there again after a long break, everything is good as usual: the service, the selection and the food.

During the visit, the food was very tasty with the starter (bread), main course (large schnitzel with fries/salad bowl) and dessert (2 scoops of ice cream with cherries). The service is very attentive and friendly. The atmosphere was very pleasant and cozy.

We ate very well and were served very friendly. Would love to come back.

The last time we went out to eat was before Corona. We all thought it was really good. We have now reconsidered our opinion. The portions of fried potatoes that come with the meal have halved since the last time. I ordered croquettes with my dish instead of fried potatoes. I got a whopping "4", in words "four", croquettes and they were smaller than at our Greek restaurant around the corner. The vanilla ice cream for dessert had left the cold chain at some point. There were "pieces of water ice" in the ice... The lady from the service seemed rather listless and was already wearing a dirty apron when she started work at 5 p.m. Well, maybe the washing machine is broken too...? Before I forget, the starters and meat were good. If that doesn't change, we won't see this restaurant again.

Wow, that was very tasty. We really wanted a good schnitzel and that's what we got at Haus Siebrecht. Good portions, nicely decorated and good prices. Can definitely recommend Blind Schnitzel “Schalke” and “Horst” ;)

We were repeat offenders yesterday. Really delicious dishes. Everyone was very accommodating. Luckily we don't live far and were able to stumble home more than satisfied and full.

It's very cozy and familiar there. The food is good and the schnitzel days (Wednesdays) and the steak days (Thursdays) are highly recommended. Been there this month. There is still no sign of increased prices

Ich hatte den Lachs mit Spinatkartoffeln. Für 26.90 Euro habe ich aufgetaute Lachsstücke bekommen, die ich auch genauso beim Lidl oder Aldi bekomme, die Soße war auch von Maggi, Knorr, etc. Sorry Leute, das war nix. Und für den Preis ein blanker Witz.

Sehr nette und gemütliche Atmosphäre. Reichhalltige Speisekarte mit fairen Preisen. Was wir gegessen hatten war qualitativ sehr gut und mehr als ausreichend. Sehr nette und aufmerksame Bedienung. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Die Angestellten waren total überfordert . Aber das Essen war gut .

Soweit ganz gut. Der Grillteller war sehr gut, die Portion ganz o.k. Preis Leistung gut. Einziger Kretikpunkt: Eine Porzion Ajvar (ca. zwei Esslöffel) wurde mit 3,50 Euro berechnet!!!!! Das ist frech! Wird in der Regel, wie Ketchup zur Pommes, kostenlos dazu gereicht. Daran sollte gearbeitet werden.

Das Essen hat sehr gut geschmeckt. Schnitzel Horst (siehe Foto) mit Bratkartoffel und Salat. Vorab Baguette mit Kräuterbutter und Oliven. Die Wände waren sehr schön bemalt mit Motiven aus der Seefahrt.

Also ich war bisher vom Haus Siebrecht immer sehr angetan. Das hat sich leider geändert. Letztes Jahr Weihnachten war ich so enttäuscht. Das Essen war kalt, wurde mehrfach nachgebessert, es wurde nicht besser. Getränke wurden mir über die Hose gekippt. Natürlich versehentlich, aber es wurde nicht richtig geputzt und es wurde nichts vom Preis erlassen. Jetzt wurden einfach die Preise erhöht, ohne die Karten zu ändern. Das finde ich gar nicht gut. Vorallem sehr guten Gästen, Stammgästen, muss man doch sagen, wenn sich die Preise ändern. Ich verzichte jetzt darauf, zu Siebrecht zu gehen.

Dienstag und Mittwoch ist Schnitzel Tag, wirklich sehr große Auswahl. Auch sehr lecker, leider eine Stunde auf das Essen gewartet. Tisch bestellen wäre ratsam, normale Karte auch zu empfehlen 👍.

Wir waren mit mehreren Mädels bei Siebrecht zum Essen und waren mit dem Essen und dem Ambiente sehr zufrieden. Die Auswahl am Schnitzel Tag war reichlich und es gab zum Nachtisch sogar Eis mit heißen Kirschen. Auch die Karte mit verschiedenen Speisen über Steak, Nudelgerichte und Fisch war sehr gut. Wir können es so gut weiter empfehlen!!!👍👍👍

Wollten gern an einem Mittwoch zum Schnitzeltag zu Abend essen. Dazu hatten wir reserviert. Hatten einer guten Platz in einem guten leicht griechischem Ambiente erhalten. Und tatsächlich war eine Reservierung nötig, es waren viele Gäste. Am Schnitzel-Tag sollte es Schnitzel sein, gute Auswahl. Als Gruß aus der Küche gab's es Brot und Butter, danach Salat und das Schnitzel „Ückendorf” - paniertes Schweineschnitzel mit Speckstreifen und Röstzwiebeln, dazu Bratkartoffeln. Als Nachtisch wurde Vanilleeis mit warmen Kirschen serviert. Wir hatten uns noch eine Portion Pfifferlinge gegönnt. Das Essen war frisch zu bereitet, sehr heiß, die Bratkartoffeln echt köstlich und gros. Die Schnitzel waren ausreichend groß, nicht zu dünn und nicht trocken, zudem hatten diese eine knusprige Panierung. Etwas röstiger hätten die Röstzwiebeln sein dürfen, diese waren wie Schmorzwiebeln. Die deklarierten Speckstreifen waren gewürfelt, na gut. Das Servicepersonal war freundlich. Durch die vielen Gäste waren sie auch sehr herausgefordert. Alles in allem, und hatte es geschmeckt und ein Besuch des Hauses Siebrecht sollte drin sein! 🍽 👍🏼

Das Essen ist wunderbar, aber heute haben wir 1 1/2 Stunden gewartet, ohne dass mal jemand gesagt hätte, sorry dauert heute länger weil es so voll ist. Ansonsten war es gut und die Spaghetti Arrabiata waren hervorragend.

Sieht von aussen sehr piefig aus, entpuppt sich innen aber als sehr schöne Gastronomie. Sehr empfehlenswert.

Im Haus Siebrecht sind wir noch nie enttäuscht worden. Die Küche des Balkans und Steakspezialtäten zu Preisen die absolut OK sind. Die Bedienung ist manchmal ein wenig "muffelig" - dafür reisst der Chef es mit seiner freundlichen Art wieder raus. Ingesamt absolut empfehlenswert.
