Restaurant designed as a mine with lots of information about Zwickau and the role of mining in the area. Very lovingly and detailedly designed. There is something to discover everywhere. The food tastes excellent and is homemade. Despite a busy Saturday evening, the service was quick, very friendly and attentive. Prices are unbeatably cheap by today's standards. Unfortunately, we didn't discover the "lucky thing" earlier. The two not so furry friends also say thank you for this wonderful evening ;-) We'll definitely be back.

Unfriendly, there were a lot of seats available but the lady didn't want to serve us, sad!

Rustic and traditionally furnished. Very friendly service and the food is great. Had fried carp that I didn't know about. Very tasty 😋 the vegetables were also tasty and not just bland as they often are. We'll be back.

Very tasty food at good prices. I had steak ou four and can only recommend it. The rustic mining charm makes it very cozy and you feel at home. The service was also very friendly. In general, many dishes are offered that were already available in the GDR era, which are rarely available anymore. Gladly again.

In the beautiful GDR, a restaurant HAD to be open for single people on December 24th. I don't understand why December 31st is equated with December 24th in stores. I don't celebrate New Year's Eve at 4 p.m. and Christmas Eve not at midnight.

Price and performance very good

We weren't thrilled with the very dark fried potatoes and the rest, and it took too long for anyone to even come to us. The restaurant itself is very dark! We will still come back, maybe it just wasn't a good day, all the best to you!!

Very miner, moderately furnished, wonderful food, delicious beer and the boss was very nice and once worked for workers' supplies in Hartenstein

OMG!! We went there without a reservation and that too on the weekend. When we came in we were greeted warmly. When the question came whether we had reserved, we said no. We all thought: "OK that's it, we don't get any food here" But☝️No! We were escorted to a comfortable place and were given the menu when we arrived. The service was quick and friendly and the ambience was like being in a shaft. The inventory was adapted to the shaft accordingly. Anyone who prefers or loves good German cuisine with delicious home-style cooking is in the right place. We definitely won't rule out further visits.👍

Celebrated my 50th birthday here. It was perfect: super delicious food and despite the full restaurant, all of our wishes were fulfilled and the waitress never lost her sense of humor.

Landlady, staff overwhelmed. Maybe, guests are enthusiastic,... I wasn't, I wanted to have a drink there, eat a little something,... not possible without a reservation, there was a party in the next room, 13 people, so it was at full capacity... At the bar everything was free, not possible for regular guests..drinkers, plus one very unfriendly landlady, local ambience drinking bar flair... the outside... I don't want to be out and about in the evening as a woman👎

No matter how unassuming this restaurant may be from the outside, once you've been there you'll keep coming back! We never had it on our radar. Only discovered it by chance on Google maps (maybe more marketing would be needed). In the photos on Google maps, we (as natives of Zwickau) really liked the atmosphere and thought "let's take a look". The menu is “Ur-German” + everything is delicious! From egg flake soup to Roster with sauerkraut to Strindberg. We haven't been able to test everything yet, but the strindberg alone is worth a visit! The service is super friendly, even when she's really stressed. Somehow she always seems to be able to keep an eye on our table every few minutes and ask if everything is OK. Some top restaurants in Zwickau can't achieve this in terms of quality, even with twice as many staff! The kitchen is absolutely great! I've never had anything that didn't taste really good. Strindberg a dream, salads a dream, fries absolutely on point. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. One of our favorite restaurants since we “discovered” it. Oh well, prices are absolutely justified for what is on offer! Especially if you're from Zwickau, definitely try it out!

We arrived quite late and the kitchen was actually closing time, but we were still able to have dinner there. Great ambience, very fair prices, friendly staff and delicious food. What more do you want ? Be sure to come here!

Highly recommended Friendly service

Went to the restaurant on Good Friday evening. The food is good, the portions are OK, unfortunately the fried potatoes were very soft, which we also told the waitress. The staff is absolutely on their toes and very friendly. The atmosphere is rustic and makes you feel good.

Absolutely disappointing. We weren't the first, but definitely the last time here. Although the menu isn't even half as big as it used to be, the first lukewarm starters arrived after about two hours. The last of us got our main course after 2.5 hours, i.e. 2:30 p.m. (Ordered for 12 noon). The schnitzel and the fish were fried almost black. There is no indication or excuse that it is taking longer.

I would say you can only say positive things about the food. It tastes good and the selection of food is also great. I can only say good things about the service.

Sehr unfreundlichen und abweisendes Personal. Es war einmal eine sehr nette und freundliche Servicekraft dort. Diese Frau war gestern total überfordert, obwohl Plätze frei waren und keine Reservierung sichtbar. Total ausgebucht war der Empfang, obwohl wir dort öfters Gast waren. Waren, dass kann man nach diesem Erlebnis sagen.

Wir waren schon öfter in dieser gemütlichen gastätte, wir haben auch vor Weihnachten und im Januar Geburtstage in dieser urigen Gaststätte gefeiert. Das Essen hat uns immer sehr gut geschmeckt und war preiswert. Die Bedienung war flott und sehr freundlich.

Cozy restaurant. Delicious meals

This was a happy “accident” while visiting Zwickau. The server was great and the food was good. It’s becoming pretty normal to need a reservation no matter where you go in Germany. The restaurant manager needed to be coaxed into letting us have a table - she was flustered getting ready for a big birthday party and few spots were available. Once seated, however, the server was extremely friendly and helpful. The food was good. My table mates both had the Eisbein with Creamed Horseradish Sauce and were very happy. The meat in my Gulasch was a bit sparse, but tasting great - and to be honest, I’d have been happy with just Klöße and sauce! The Gaststätte is right off of a streetcar stop and within easy walking distance of Hauptmarkt in Zwickau. We were there on a Saturday afternoon after a visit to the Horsch Auto Museum (also well worth the visit!)

Good cuisine with home cooking. Unfortunately, the operation doesn't work very well. The restaurant was full, two waitresses were seen, but the lady behind the counter chatted with guests in the dining room instead of at least supporting the wait staff with the drinks

Eine ganz urige Gaststätte. Nach dem Motto Bergbau. Hervor zu heben die flotte Bedienung. Ganz allein. Flink, sehr nett, ein offenes Ohr für die Gäste, einfach toll. Ich habe mich sehr wohl gefühlt.

Wir waren vergangenen Samstag Mittag zum Geburtstag meiner Oma da. Das Essen war in Ordnung aber die Bedienung war etwas ruppig und sehr geschäftsmäßig. Den Platz am langen Tisch fand ich etwas ungemütlich.
