So we went again; the food was delicious and we come here often. The staff is always nice and friendly. Very clean, but could use a bit of a makeover.

Four of us were there today. It was another lovely evening. The food was excellent. And the service, as always, was friendly, and very attentive. We'll be back in November. We've already made a reservation.

I find the restaurant really quaint, somewhat hidden beneath the high-rise complex. The interior is very rustic, quaint, and has a touch of Eastern charm. The schnitzel was incredibly delicious. It's currently chanterelle mushroom season ;-) If you want to eat there with a larger group, you should definitely make a reservation. The service was incredibly fast. The price-performance ratio is really good.

We often go to Barnimquell. It's a cozy restaurant with good food and generous portions. The meat is super tender, the fries are nice and crispy. The prices are absolutely reasonable. The service and kitchen staff are very friendly and attentive. Dear Annette, we'll be staying with you!!!

Very friendly staff, very tasty dishes.

A very nice restaurant with good, traditional German cuisine and a wide selection of dishes and drinks. The food and the quality of the food are top-notch! 🤩 The price-performance ratio is fairly average. The dishes on the seasonal menu, such as asparagus dishes, chanterelles/mushrooms, Christmas roast, and the like, are only slightly more expensive, but still well worth it for the quantity and quality! There's also a wide selection for those with a light appetite, or for starters, desserts, and various ice cream specialties such as sundaes, iced coffee, and chocolate ice cream, etc. The staff is always cheerful, friendly, and helpful, and up for a laugh. 😁 The furniture and ambiance inside are a bit older but comfortably furnished, and there are a few niches where you get the feeling of being more private or among yourselves, and you can also sit at the counter. The restrooms 🚽 are a bit dated, but they are clean and serve their purpose. Access is somewhat difficult for people with limited mobility in wheelchairs, as there's a lower step outside at the main entrance, and you have to take a further detour to get to the side entrance. This should be improved, and local politicians should be involved. Then a ramp or something similar would be more likely to be approved. All in all, I can recommend the Barnimquell restaurant without hesitation 👍.

We were here on a Monday, there was a lot going on...and we thought we were the only ones. That spoke for itself and we were not disappointed. Service quick and friendly. Wide range of food choices. In terms of taste, the dishes were rated consistently positively. All in all a successful evening. We'd love to come back.

I found it charming. Very beautiful, both inside and out, with tidy restrooms, excellent service and friendliness, the food was delicious and generously portioned, and it's very child- and dog-friendly (high chairs and water bowls available). It's also very quiet, which makes for a pleasant atmosphere.

A great, classic restaurant on the outskirts of town. The food was truly excellent. The prices are great, but some are questionable. The children's portion is the same as for a small appetite (absolutely sufficient), but there's a €5 price difference. Unfortunately, there was no Lillet since it's not a cocktail bar, but there was Aperol ;) (slightly contradictory) But these are only minor anomalies and are absolutely not disturbing. We really enjoyed our stay and, above all, enjoyed our meal.

A German restaurant in Berlin's Hohenschönhausen district. My parents are regulars there. When I'm home, we always go there. The food is excellent and the staff is hospitable.

Delicious food, great value for money, top-notch service, and clean restrooms. Can't complain. 😋

Very friendly staff, which is why we come here often, but there are no alternatives in the area. The food hasn't changed much in recent years; the side dish, in particular, is still from the old days of the East (bean salad), but there are better alternatives today. The food tastes good, but there's a lot of steak and schnitzel, and the salad is also delicious. The decorations on the tables are the worst: a dried-up boxwood (a grave plant), where fresh flowers used to be. The potting soil on the table where people eat is perhaps not ideal, and it's actually an ugly plant. I don't think anyone would put a plant like that in their home. We keep coming back, though, especially because of Conny and Sven. What they do is priceless.

Restaurant with GDR flair - Food like in the GDR times

The service was typically Berlin-like and friendly. A quick chat was always possible. The clientele was pleasant, friendly, and relaxed. Many people come regularly. The food was delicious, although I would have preferred a little less salt in the sauce. The portion sizes were just right. There was also something for those with a small appetite. Unfortunately, this isn't offered as often in other restaurants anymore. The seating on the terrace was ideal. The now very tall plants made it almost like a day-trip restaurant. A pleasant place to relax in a "new development" area, after all, Neuhohenschönhausen is now over 40 years old.

The friendly atmosphere and the typical Berlin style of the two owners make this place one of the few remaining upscale restaurants in the old Berlin style. It's a great place to come.

Two people deserve special mention: the waitresses Connie and Sven, who always treat each guest with great friendliness, attention, and warmth. If you like classic German GDR cuisine and mentality, yes. A very friendly family runs this restaurant.

With one more person than the number of seats booked, we arrived at the restaurant on time as the person who ordered the meal. An additional place setting was no problem. Drinks and food orders were taken promptly, even though the restaurant was very busy and there were only two people serving. And the food—well, it has to be said that it is very good, tasty, home-cooked food that you shouldn't miss out on, even if it's expensive. We can recommend the restaurant with a clear conscience. Hats off to what's done here. We're thrilled and would gladly return. H. K.

We were 1.5 today. 25 ate at Barnimquell for the first time on the recommendation of my best friend. And we were really excited. Top service, delicious food, very nice atmosphere. We reserved a table there for our wedding anniversary.

We were there on Easter Sunday and luckily had reserved a table in advance. The service is super nice and always with a funny saying that the food was great. The restaurant offers food from GDR times and seasonal dishes. The menu is very diverse. Conclusion: We had a nice day here ☀️ so we'll come back if anyone asks

Super! The three of us went there spontaneously today (didn't know you had to make a reservation) unfortunately just before the kitchen closed. We were still allowed to stay because it was quiet. Great service with Berlin charm, the food was great and, above all, fresh, and our visitor from Bavaria was also more than satisfied!!! Had a starter and main course and left completely full! Can highly recommend it!

It's a charming, traditional restaurant with a heart. Unfortunately, it was extremely busy during our visit. There should have been a seating limit, which led to very long waits. The food was delicious; even though the steak was a bit overcooked, it still tasted very good.

The tip came from my hairdresser. It's a bit hidden on Zingster Str., but you can find it. You immediately feel at home as it reminds you a little of the GDR times. Male and female waiters were very nice. Food tasted very good. Gladly again.

Unfortunately, the food was mediocre, absolutely no highlight, and had many weak points. And… It was incredibly cold in the restaurant. Unfortunately, when asked, the only response was jokes: “Usually our guests drink mulled wine.” Oh, right. ha ha ha. They gave us blankets. But it was still uncomfortably cold. The heaters were turned down completely. It's a shame for this bad first impression. Therefore, even if the food had been great, the restaurant would not attract us again under these circumstances.

We thought about celebrating there with 50 people, but decided against it. It's just too cold there in winter and therefore not comfortable. Nobody wants to sit there with a jacket. It's a shame, the staff was very nice and the food was good too. This will probably save on heating costs
