Gaststätte am Eichwald in Sachsenheim

After visiting the beer garden in the summer, we signed up for the Sardinian evening "Agriturismo" in October. And to make a long story short, it was a thoroughly enjoyable evening. The food was once again very, very delicious. There were many varied dishes that you wouldn't normally find on a menu. A few examples? Culurgiones (pastries filled with potato, cheese, and mint), Malloreddus Ragout (typical Sardinian pasta in a pork and lamb ragu with pecorino), and Fregola Funghi (creamy fregola with seasonal mushrooms).... The staff was, once again, very friendly and attentive. The only slight drawback was that the music was a bit too loud for us at times. However, it didn't spoil our evening as a couple :-) We'll definitely be back...

The Ehinger Berg beer served was excellent! The duck was tasty and very tender, the sauce delicious. There were two kinds of dumplings and red cabbage. The service was very friendly and attentive. One very small negative point: for me, the plate should have been preheated, as I eat such a delicious dish slowly.

The restaurant opened its doors early on Friday afternoon for our wedding reception with 16 people, and we were served with the utmost warmth in a wonderful atmosphere. A delicious Italian menu with tasty antipasti and very attentive service. An all-around successful celebration at this restaurant. Thank you so much.

We went there today to eat our fill of schnitzel. We've rarely eaten so well. The schnitzel was perfectly juicy and the breading was very light. The potato salad and spaetzle were absolutely fantastic. It was our first visit to the Schützenhaus and definitely won't be our last. We're already looking forward to the next time.

This was our first time at the Ochsen and we had made a reservation a few days in advance. Everything went smoothly. Even though there was one more person than expected and a wheelchair user, we had enough space and a nice table on the terrace. The food (we had six different dishes) was consistently very good and highly recommended! Be sure to make a reservation; it's worth it.

We had dinner at Ochsen im Eichwald today. We had the filet pan and the roast beef pan, each with a glass of wine. It was fantastic! The meat was super tender, the sauce was heavenly! If no one had been around, we would have licked our plates clean. The service was extremely attentive, very prompt, and super friendly! We'll definitely be back! Thank you for the great food! 😊

Yesterday, on August 2, 2025, we celebrated my "grandmother-in-law's" birthday. The atmosphere is incredibly cozy, the food is delicious, and the service is second to none! Thank you for a truly wonderful day with you :)

Größere Familienfeier am 19.07.25. Im Vorfeld wurde mit dem Wirt alles bis ins Detail besprochen und festgelegt. Wir hatten 5 8er Tische welche toll angeordnet und gedeckt waren. Und das Beste: es wurde alles genau so umgesetzt. Das Essen war wie immer sehr lecker, der Service, welchen wir mit 2 Servicemitarbeitern erhielten, hat super funktioniert. So machen Feiern Spaß, wenn alles gut organisiert und umgesetzt wird. Es war nicht unser erster Besuch, und sicherlich auch nicht unser letzter! Wir konnten auch schon Freunde aus underem Umfeld dafür begeistern. Jogl S

Very tasty dinner in the countryside.

Schnitzel, Spätzle und Filet schmeckten nicht, männliche Bedienung verzog das Gesicht nachdem man Rahmsoße zum Essen wollte, einziger Pluspunkt war eine sehr freundliche weibliche Bedienung.

Lokas is idyllically located on the edge of the Sachsenheim forest. It's also easily accessible for cyclists. Whether passing through for a drink or for a longer stay with a meal, the terrace is a great place to linger. The service is very prompt, the food is delicious. Here, I believe, great importance is placed on freshly prepared dishes. I enjoy coming here for a culinary delight.

Zuerst das postive: Die junge Dame, die uns bedient hat, war sehr freundlich. Sowohl das Getränk, als auch das Essen kam sehr schnell. Nun das nagative: Wir waren am Aktionstag "Schnitzel all you can eat" dort. Das Schnitzel war Durchschnitt, die Spätzle und der Kartoffelsalat waren gut aber auch nichts besonderes. Die Soße könnte eine Fertigsoße gewesen sein. Auf der Karte steht "Wenn der Teller leer ist, gibts einen Nachschlag..." Das ist wörtlich zu nehmen. Solange auf dem Teller noch Spätzle oder Kartoffelsalat ist, bekommt man kein weiteres Schnitzel! Wie bescheuert ist das denn? Ich könnte also meinen Teller komplett leer essen, bestelle Nachschlag, esse das Schnitzel und der Rest wird weggeworfen? Das ist schlicht und ergreifend ein undurchdachtes System.

Wir waren bereits mehrfach im Ochsen/Schützenhaus zum Essen. Toller Service, verdammt leckeres Essen. Gestern war Spargel angesagt - all you can eat ☆☆☆☆☆

We like the Ochsen in Tamm and know it well, as well as the former Schützenhaus in Sachsenheim. I'm glad that the Tamm concept is now available there: instead of white tablecloths and a set table, it's great, honest food, good service, and an atmosphere that invites you to "just drop by." The view from the beer garden is sensational, and the beer is delicious! Finding it isn't easy, but it's 1000% worth it.

Solid, unspectacular food, the outside area is nice, I wouldn't recommend the inside area, the service is absolutely overwhelmed and the price-performance ratio is not right. You can go here and get your fill, but you can't expect culinary highlights or a welcoming atmosphere. Food is okay. There are quite a few meat dishes (onion roast, schnitzel, Sunday roast…) and also seasonal dishes (asparagus…). If you're not looking for anything really surprising and don't feel like cooking, you'll find solid food here. Unfortunately, the dining room is completely full of smoke and smells like kitchen. It is essential to work on ventilation here. I would therefore not recommend eating in the dining room. The outside area is quite nice. Unfortunately the service is absolutely overwhelmed. The previous tenants had incredibly friendly service. Unfortunately, you won't find this friendliness here. Drinks are forgotten, the wrong food is brought and in the end you are faced with the decision of whether you want to tip 10% when paying by card - absolutely cheeky in my opinion. Since when did it become fashionable for the guest not to decide the amount of the tip? In my opinion, the price-performance ratio is not right here. For similar money you can eat much better in the area.

We celebrated a big birthday with 9 people. It was extremely good, the service was great, all the food was of very good quality. A little insider tip because it's quite remote, but always very well attended. We'll definitely be back! Update: Been back after closing and reopening on 5/1/25. Service is great, food is great, we will definitely be back!!!

To the Ochsen am Eichwald: Although it's not around the corner from us (43km), we really enjoy coming back here. The food is a culinary delight, I have never eaten such delicious ox. Overall, the food is very tasty, the service is very accommodating, special requests are also possible, fast and friendly. Would love to come back.

We stood in front of closed doors yesterday despite a reservation. Unfortunately no information, no availability by phone. Many people felt that way. A no-go in times of social media and easy-to-use homepages.

Had a confirmed reservation and then found ourselves in front of a locked door. No information whatsoever. No one can be reached by phone. I'm kind of Ned...

The menu was slightly shortened but still had a good selection. The service was very nice and attentive and the food came very quickly. All I can say about the food is that it was bomb, a very tasty side salad and the schnitzel I ordered was also great. The fried potatoes as a side dish were well seasoned and had a great consistency.

According to Google…open According to the website... open (note that it is closed in October. It is now December) On site… closed, everything dark Not like that. Gastronomy should also arrive in the 21st century. Won't go there anymore.

A little hidden on the outskirts of Sachsenheim. Very great restaurant with delicious dishes. We weren't here for the last time.

Gemütliches Lokal, kleine überschaubare Karte, was aber kein Nachteil sein muss. Schwäbische Küche, aufmerksames Personal, sehr gute Qualität, was natürlich auch etwas mehr kostet, aber für die Qualität OK ist. Portionen sind ausreichend.

Empfehlungswert, leckere essen, nette Bedienung und schön eingerichte Gaststätte.

Sehr netter und freundlicher Service. Das Essen war wirklich sehr lecker. Vorspeise hervorragend, der Rostbraten auf den Punkt gebraten. Spätzle und Rosmarin Kartoffeln top. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und kommen wieder. Vielen Dank für den Espresso aufs Haus.

Gutes bürgerliches Essen ist aber etwas abgelegen. Und Mein Roastbraten hatte ein wenig sehnen und es hätte für mein Geschmack mehr Sosse geben sollen. Aber kann man ja nachbestellen. Preise sind gut.

War zum zweiten Mal dort. Erstes Mal war noch so lala. Dieses Mal war es echt okay zum empfehlen ich werde auf alle Fälle noch mal die Gaststätte besuchen. Der Außenbereich sieht auch gut aus und verdient mal einen Abstecher.

Ein sehr gemütliches Lokal mit sonniger Terrasse, leckeren Speisen, sehr freundlichem Personal! Sehr empfehlenswert! Wir waren übrigens mit dem WoMo angereist und durften kostenlos auf der geplegten Wiese übernachten.

Ruhig und abgelegen am Waldrand ist die Gaststätte am Eichwald ein schönes Lokal. Vor allem im Sommer ist ein Besuch auf der Terrasse lohnenswert.

Ein Lokal, das an einem Schützenstandort gelegen ist. Wir haben dort zu Abend gegessen und waren zufrieden mit den Mahlzeiten und Mitarbeitern im Lokal.

Freundlicher Service. Man kann auch im Freien sitzen.

Sehr leckeres Essen. Sehr guter Setvice. Eine klare Empfehlung.

Seit letzter Woche ist ein neuer Pächter darauf. Wir sind mehr oder weniger zufällig vorbei gekommen. Zum Glück bekamen wir einen Platz auf der Terrasse (auch ohne Reservierung). Der Service ist sehr bemüht. Die Karte ist perfekt reduziert. Für mich als Vegitarier gab es drei Gerichte zur Auswahl! Die Kleinen bekommen bis zu 5 Jahren die Spätzle umsonst. Das Essen war gut, ebenso der Wein (Weinbau Notz). Die Lage ist (für uns) perfekt. Der Biergarten gemütlich. Alles in Allem ein spannender Neuanfang. Ich wünsche viel Erfolg. Ich empfehle es gerne weiter und werde selber auch wieder hingehen.

Wir sind hier mehr zufällig gelandet, mittwochs gibt es hier All-You-Can-Eat spare-ribs. Die waren auch wirklich gut. Es liegt ein wenig abseits, aber die Fahrt lohnt sich. Wir waren nicht nur von den spareribs positiv überrascht.

Rostbraten der Superlative! Für alle Liebhaber des schwäbischen Rostbraten ein MUSS! Ich habe selten so einen wunderbaren Rostbraten gegessen! Innen medium, Außen knusprig. Dafür gibt es nur ein Wort: "Spitzenklasse". Die Käsespätzle sind übrigens auch ein absoluter Traum und sehr zu empfehlen. Man sollte hier mehr als fünf Sterne vergeben können. Eine Spitzenadresse! Großes Lob an die Küche! Wir kommen wieder! Liebe Grüße

Wae sehr lecker und gemütlich wae hier auf einen Geburtstag Eingeladen

Wir haben eine tolle Familienfeier in der Gaststätte im getrennte Saal verbringen können. Das Essen war super, allen hat es hervorragend geschmeckt. Auch das Personal war stets freundlich und ist herzlich mit unseren Gästen umgegangen. Die location hat für uns alles geboten was wir brauchten, inklusive der Möglichkeiten für die Kinder. Vielen Dank dafür, wir kommen gerne wieder!

Sehr flotte und freundliche Bedienung. Es war schon mal eine Freude, nicht lange warten zu müssen sondern kompetent und professionell serviert zu bekommen. Das Essen selbst war nett angerichtet und hat gut geschmeckt. Leider waren die Kartoffelchips etwas salzig. Dafür war das Viertele Lemberger aus dem Stromberg hervorragend.
