It's been a new owner for a while now and it's been really great ever since!

One of the most beautiful beer gardens, with a great terrace and excellent staff. Friendly and fast service. The food is very, very good and, of course, the best beer.

Discovered while passing through. Friendly and attentive staff. The pork knuckle was overcooked too quickly. Perhaps in the future, lower the temperature and finish with a higher temperature for the crust. Serve the roast pork in 4 thin slices instead of 2 thick ones. Otherwise, impeccable.

I was there on a Wednesday morning, so I only had a snack and white sausage. But the great atmosphere of the home-style cooking and the friendly staff won me over. The food was fresh and lovingly prepared. A definite recommendation if you're in the area.

I visited here for the first time with a guest. It was a lovely, cozy beer garden, with plenty of free seating even in the late afternoon. The food was delicious and plentiful. The service was unassumingly friendly, and everything was served quickly.

We have been regulars for years and come here regularly to eat. The quality of the food is always excellent, the atmosphere very pleasant, and the staff is generally friendly. However, on our last visit, we encountered a very disappointing situation: We were served the wrong order. After politely pointing this out to the waiter, we were treated with unexpected rudeness. Instead of admitting the error, we were accused of lying and insulted – we were stunned. After a brief, unpleasant discussion, the dishes were taken back, and the correct dishes were finally served – accompanied by a friendly apology from the chef himself, which we greatly appreciated. However, we would like to emphasize that the waiter's behavior was unacceptable. Mistakes can happen – but how you handle them is crucial. The waiter's reaction, consisting of denials, mimicry, and insults, was not only unprofessional but also severely tarnished our otherwise consistently positive impression of this restaurant. Unfortunately, no apology was forthcoming. We hope that this was an isolated incident and that such situations will be handled better in the future.

Price performance is good and staff is friendly. Would love to come back.

Best roast pork in the Würm Valley!

Beautiful, quiet beer garden directly on the Würm with moderate prices

I've known this beer garden for several years, and my partner has been going there on and off for over 25 years, which speaks volumes about their long-standing relationship. Unfortunately, a few things annoyed me on my last visit. While I understand price adjustments, I have to say that the quality and quantity have declined recently. Especially on my most recent visit, when I ordered the Munich schnitzel, I was annoyed that it was significantly smaller and the portions were more child-friendly – ​​they used to have larger portions. The Bavarian potato and cucumber salad was also disappointing: the salad was mushy, and I looked in vain for cucumbers. When I asked, the waitress replied, "I just don't see them because they're chopped up... I didn't realize that my eyesight was already so bad and my sense of taste was disastrous." 😅 Overall, it's unfortunate to have to rate this traditional beer garden like this, but at some point, even I reach the limits of my understanding. Nevertheless, the atmosphere and ambience remain nice, which makes the visit still pleasant – perhaps something will change for the better.

Invited here for a birthday party yesterday. Service = catastrophic because: a. Waited half an hour for the first three beers even though it wasn't busy at 4:00 PM. b. Ordered a non-alcoholic wheat beer - got a non-alcoholic beer. c. Ice cubes for the WW spritzer were out at 5:00 PM in 30 degrees in the shade. d. Ordered cognac with the espresso, got a gin. e. Waiter "disappeared" for an extended period; his colleague had to step in. f. When ordering, the waiter reprimanded the guests, saying he would now take coffee orders first and then those for cold drinks. Despite "orderly" orders, he often forgot something. g. When clearing the table, the waiter bent over the guests' heads so much that they almost had to bend under the table. Food: Price/performance ratio is not right! a. Chicken breast (daily special) was dry as dust. ... After two negative experiences, we've decided not to come here again.

We were invited to a birthday party and there were 16 people. The service was not good, more annoyed and overwhelmed. The food was not tasty, the chicken breast was dried out and the vegetables were overcooked. For 19 euros you would expect better. The baguette was out and so were the ice cubes. You wonder where the preparation is??? The toilets were also flooded, the server was informed around 6 p.m. that they had run out of paper towels, but they didn't refill them. It's a real shame, the beer garden would be very nice, but everything else leaves a lot to be desired!

A lovely pub with a great beer garden. Unfortunately, the food was very poor. Of the seven different dishes, four arrived cold. The Swabian pan tasted of metal, perhaps because it had been left in the metal pan for too long before being heated up. The glasses should be cleaned of the previous customer's lipstick. It could all be better...

After what seemed like an eternity, I returned to the Alter Wirt in Krailling with my wife and friends. Great service and two perfect beef roulades, even though the restaurant was packed for Ascension Day. The Alter Wirt will definitely be at the top of my personal restaurant list!

I just tried to order food for pickup. They told me there's no children's menu for pickup customers and he doesn't know how to bill for spaetzle. When I asked what I could order for my children, they only listed adult meals. The result: I'm canceling the meal because I don't need an adult meal for my children. What happened here?

We come here all the way from the Ländle and love to eat the Munich schnitzel—simply delicious, and then there's beer on tap! Something for everyone 🤗

The food was delicious, but unfortunately there was no children's menu. High chairs were available, but there was no separate play area. Restrooms with changing facilities were in the basement. We didn't go to the beer garden, so I can't comment on that.

Once again we ate a top Schweinsi in a beautiful setting, accompanied by the excellent Augustiner Dunkel. A perfect evening.

We always enjoyed coming here. It was never a “cheap home” but always very good! Now they have turned the price screw again, but violently! In the garden control panel, an organic pork roast (only on Sundays and public holidays) costs just under € 24 (!!!) Is it still possible? If only he had at least been good! Two thick slices of roast, but so hard you could hardly bite it! For me, hunger forced it in, but my 98-year-old mother-in-law was hopelessly overwhelmed. She packed the meat and wanted to finish cooking it at home (which didn't work). She just ate the dumplings and the watery sauce. The third meal was a salad with 3 or four small pieces of fried chicken. My wife liked it. I would have woken up hungry. The crowning glory is the shaky wooden floor of the terrace. Whenever someone walked by (and that wasn't rare) the food almost flew off your fork, so everything wobbled. I told the waiter about the meat and received a polite shrug of the shoulders. Thank God there are still plenty of alternatives in and around Munich!

We ordered juicy lamb kebabs with couscous on May 1st. Have received we dry lamb kebabs with a portion of ice-cold couscous. Waiter said it was served like that. Too bad...

Very good hirach goulash and chestnut soup for autumn/winter

A very nice inn on the Würm River, you can reserve your exact table – and the food is good, including Bavarian. Inflation has now hit here too; the roast pork jumped from €13 in 2023 to over €17 now. Many dishes now cost over €20. Understandable, but I still come much less often.

Cheese spaetzle with salad for just under 20.00 euros - poor quality! Poor Munich, ugh!

Friendly service and nice ambience. Unfortunately, today's lunch was very below average: the meat was tough and way too well done (both the beef steak and the roast pork) and the cheese spaetzle seemed as if they had been warmed up. Too bad, unfortunately no recommendation.

A traditional Bavarian inn just like it is written in the book 👍! The daily menu is very diverse and offers something to suit every taste. The staff are very friendly and professional. Reservations are recommended on weekends.

Great inn, also with a 1A Kirchweih Ganserl. The only drawback: The little schnitzel is really tiny, so it's best not to even consider it. Otherwise very good, no matter what dish. And a beautiful beer garden on the Würm.

What I particularly liked about this restaurant is that the tables are not too close together. The food tasted good and the portions were large to satisfy your cravings. What concerns my order is that it was no longer hot (as I like it) but warm and for my salad, which was only supposed to be green and I got a mixed one, I had to wait longer than 15 minutes. I have to add one thing that I didn't like at all: the spider webs on the walls (see photo). If you like Bavarian cuisine, I recommend the restaurant. Bon appetit.

We were really looking forward to the food because we have eaten here several times and it was really excellent. But we definitely can't count tonight as one of these! Drinks were picked up quickly, but it took an eternity before they actually landed on the table. About the food: We ordered noble deer goulash, when the plate came it looked like soup or ragout. Hardly any meat on the plate and then charging 23 euros for it. Completely excessive and of course we told the waiter about it. There was then a brief clarification with the boss and another portion was added. Suddenly there were very large pieces of deer goulash on the plate, but everything was very bland and it was completely cold, even inside! After the first criticism, which also has to be dealt with, I cannot make another mistake with the guest. We wanted to take the last two large pieces with us, here you expect the plate to be cleared away, but no, a box is brought out and scraped off the plate in front of all the guests... That doesn't work at all! But we weren't the only ones who talked about the prices. The prices are not proportional to the portions. The finale was also an absolute blast, we paid by card, there were 4 people and then a small chocolate kolauas was brought to the table. That's really laughable! Either I bring something to each guest or I leave it alone! You can also say goodbye to the guests quietly and not just walk past in silence. We are speechless...

We had a bigger birthday party there. Everything was great from the service to the food, drinks, etc. Unfortunately, it would have been nice if the restaurant owner had at least come to us on the “payment date” - it's actually not a problem, they think. A small gesture (???) like in many other restaurants would normally be received positively. It's just a shame when personality etc. is lost! A speech about paying: “Can I do this with you straight away, I'll be called upon straight away” - Sorry THAT'S NOT WORKING AT ALL!!! Please think about it etc!!! And if necessary. React !!!

We went to have a weisswurst breakfast today - arrived at 12:10pm (after parking 5min away - no parking available. After ordering and beers served we were told at 12:20 - because of an ancient tradition no more weisswurst would be served after - noon on the dot. Server was extremely unhelpful (just said we would have been served if we had a reservation - what an odd excuse ) - we finished our beer and left. We got served just fine in Haderner Augustiner. Very disappointing experience and could not recommend

Unfortunately I have to go back from 5 to 3 stars. Unfortunately, the giant schnitzel has deteriorated over the years. We used to have the giant schnitzel with a salad. Last year the salad was canceled and now the giant schnitzel is no longer that big. The giant schnitzel is now the normal schnitzel size like in any other restaurant and has nothing to do with giant schnitzel anymore. The correct name on the menu would now be schnitzel “Viennese style”. Rating only refers to the schnitzel. Otherwise, I like to go to the Alte Wirt.

I had the cheese spaetzle, which really wasn't seasoned well for the price and the consistency was too soft. The waitress really wasn't happy about having to work. But actually the ambience would be very nice.

I had a spontaneous lunch here yesterday. I decided on a Munich schnitzel. The schnitzel was really, really good!! There are two sizes and I chose the smaller one. I was full afterwards! The plate was beautifully presented and the lemon was packed in a small bag so that I could squeeze it (I thought it was a great solution). Service was also very nice and quick. It was still very quiet at 11:30 a.m. I hope the next visit and higher frequency will be at the same level. Keep it up 👍🏼

Were at the Alten Wirt in Krailing again today. One wonders how one can even exist with so much poor performance. The food was a disaster and we only chose dishes where you thought you couldn't go wrong. Conclusion: we will no longer visit this restaurant and cannot recommend it in any way.
