Very tasty food, very typical. Friendly staff and pleasant atmosphere.

Once again, we were very pleasantly surprised by the quality and quantity of the food (grilled platter and bifteki). The service is friendly and attentive. However, reservations are recommended. During our visit on a normal weekday, the restaurant was fully booked, so some guests were turned away at 6 p.m. without reservations. - one of the best Greek restaurants in the region!-

We were extremely satisfied when the restaurant first opened. The portions were large and the food was excellent. Unfortunately, the quality and portion sizes have deteriorated over the last three orders. Today, the baked gyro we ordered was completely stringy and gristly. We probably won't order again for a while. It's a real shame :(

We ate here at the beginning of August. I have to say upfront that we've eaten at Akropolis a few times before. We've always enjoyed the food, and the atmosphere was friendly and cozy. Our expectations were set accordingly. We didn't know the owner had changed. So we were surprised, but not negatively at first. The welcome was fine, and we were shown to our table. After that, unfortunately, the experience took a turn for the worse. It took a relatively long time for our drinks to arrive, while it was much quicker for the other tables. Throughout the entire evening, we felt a certain lack of friendliness from the staff, which made us feel uncomfortable from the very beginning. The food (starter and main course) was averagely priced. The quality and taste were also average. Unfortunately, I have to say that there are many Greek restaurants in the region that offer just that average. The previous owners stood out positively here. Good food at good prices in a good atmosphere – exactly what we expected. At the end, the chef personally cleared the table and collected the money. Unfortunately, we weren't asked if we enjoyed our meal. The owner probably wouldn't have liked that answer either. (The obligatory ouzo was only served "by chance," as the owner's acquaintances were sitting at the next table, and they received a round "on the house." But that wouldn't have had a negative impact on the overall result.) In the end, I regret to say that the new owners aren't adequate successors to the previous owners and are clearly not continuing the excellent cuisine. Therefore, we will go to a different Greek restaurant in the future.

The food was impeccable and incredibly delicious, but we only received the menu and were able to order drinks after 20 minutes of asking. During our meal, no one from the service team came to ask how things were, and our empty glasses were ignored. We even spent 10 minutes looking for a waiter to pay.

Very tasty food, friendly service

Classic and good Greek cuisine, just as we know it in Germany—gyros, fries, and the like. The taste is good and the price is right. The presentation and plate decorations are somewhat reminiscent of the 90s, but the service is very friendly and pleasant. If the plastic chairs and tables were replaced with something more robust, the ambiance would also be 5 stars. Overall, we (2 adults and 3 children) were very satisfied!

We were back after a long time. New owner. The food was delicious. Drink prices, as is often the case these days, were steep.

This is our second time here under the new owner, and both times the food has been truly outstanding! The salad on the side had a pleasantly fresh acidity, the meat was cooked to perfection, and the side fries were excellent (and the mayo was a real treat). And no one will leave the restaurant hungry. The service – always friendly – has also improved considerably. The only, but really tiny, drawback: the menu is very (too?) full and a bit confusing. But if the result is always this delicious... we'll gladly return!

Since the change of ownership, I can no longer recommend it. We reserved a table, but upon arrival, it was completely dirty and messy. When we asked if they could prepare it better, the staff only responded rudely. Very unprofessional. The portions have become tiny, and the quality has deteriorated considerably compared to the previous owners. We always enjoyed eating there, but we won't be going back. The food, service, and everything else is just terrible.

The ambiance is the same as under the previous owner; nothing has changed, which is good, but unfortunately, the rest has deteriorated considerably. The portions are tiny, orders are forgotten or delivered incorrectly, plates are left standing, and in the end, they don't even ask if you'd like another drink. The service is overwhelmed and seems completely disinterested. The food? I had stomach problems afterward, as did two other family members. And I'm not usually sensitive. I haven't eaten this badly in a long time, and I've rarely been served with such indifference. Not leaving a tip was a clear sign for me; it's never happened to me in all these years. If nothing fundamentally changes here, I don't see a future for this place.

I ate there with my sister. We had very friendly service, the food was delicious, and we got it quickly even though the terrace was very busy. We'll definitely be back.

We ate there for the first time since the restaurant reopened under the new management. It was excellent. The food was excellent in terms of the quality of the ingredients, the taste, and the quantity. The liver was tender as butter and, unlike before, not as over-seasoned. In addition to the liver, we had the Rhodes plate and the grill plate. Everything was very well portioned and truly delicious. We'll do it again.

First of all, the food was super delicious 👌👌👌, the bean soup was good, as always. The feta-stuffed peppers (florinis) were also top-notch. The gyro was well-seasoned and still juicy. The tzatziki was well-seasoned, but could have been a bit more generous. The lamb chops were also good. The special gyro with gratin was also great and a very good portion. 👍👍👍 The ambiance is a bit dated, it needs a complete overhaul at some point. The service was very friendly, but now comes the but. Unfortunately, they couldn't clear all the tables. You couldn't reorder drinks until the food arrived. Empty tables weren't cleared properly. But keep your chin up, it will probably come when everything is running smoothly. We'll definitely be back. 😉

We can't say anything bad about the food. It tasted good. Except for the salad, but that's a matter of taste. If you want a cozy meal, you should reserve a table during the week.

Almost two months ago, the owner changed due to age. Understandable, but such a shame! We were enthusiastic regular customers for 39 years, all five of us. Since then, we've still had Greek food, but nowhere near as perfect and delicious as before. My main complaint is the abysmal service, the poor manners, and the lack of friendliness. I expect good manners. It's no longer a place for us. How sad is that!? But for my money, I expect more than just being full. A frozen meal can do that, too.

We were there today and didn't know about the change of ownership. It was nice, although it took a bit of getting used to the fact that the old owner is no longer in charge 😉, but the food was always delicious there. And it looks like it will stay that way. It was plentiful, hot, and delicious. No wait, and it was still busy. Keep it up, we'll be back!

I had a plate of gyros, pork skewers, and liver with fries and mayo and was absolutely impressed! The various cuts of meat were cooked to perfection, and it was delicious and tender. My friend had the stuffed minced steak (is it called souvlaki?), and that too was tender, juicy, and very well-filled. Bonus: I have a thing about the consistency of mayo and don't like it too runny. The mayo with the fries was generous and exactly what I wanted, not too runny! We'd love to come back!

An honest conclusion: The quality of the food cannot be compared to the quality of the previous owner, Urania. Coleslaw is not homemade and is grown in barrels. Tzatziki is convenient. Rice was mushy. The gyros tasted good.

Lovely evening with typical Greek food and excellent attentive service. Plenty to choose from menu. Call ahead if you have a dog with you and they will try to get you a table inside. Otherwise if weather suitable there is plenty seating outside. Well worth a visit.

We had reserved for 5 people. Unfortunately the reservation was forgotten, small minus point. We still got a table. The food was as usual, warm, tasty and very well prepared. We like to eat here. It's a bit unusual with the new owner, but it's all coming into its own

Unfortunately we didn't like the new owner's new recipes. The salad and the fries were ok, but unfortunately the salad no longer has tzatziki. The previous owner's rice tasted fresher/not so mushy. But we were annoyed about the meat, the cheese and the sauce (both of which were less), the quality had deteriorated extremely. In terms of quantity, however, it was good. It's a shame, Mettingen has lost one of the best Greeks for us, we won't be coming back.

Just opened with new owners, went there today with our mother and can't complain. Rich portion that we couldn't manage.

I ordered 206a. Unfortunately the food was only lukewarm, the fries were hotter than the meat. In my opinion, the salad dressing tastes like diluted mayonnaise, but that's a matter of taste and I compare the dressing from the previous owner, where it was vinegar and oil. I find the service very nice, friendly and polite. I complained about the cold meat. The chef has come. Unfortunately I had to give him the idea to please warm up my food again. Which he then did. I ordered a lot of sauce, unfortunately there was very little of it to be seen. After warming up, more sauce was added. The taste was ok but unfortunately for me personally there was no comparison to what we were served at Urania. As an apology we were given a dessert by the chef which was good. Unfortunately, the table reservation over the phone went wrong; we wanted our cozy corner, which was promised to us over the phone. When we arrived we were given a different seat with an apology for what went wrong. Mistakes can happen. So we apparently got the full amount🙈 the bill said there was one drink too many. But it was the first day and I take it with a little smile. The waitress was super nice and went above and beyond to apologize to us so often.

The boss was very unfriendly and always had an excuse if something wasn't good. The lamb was very tough and the pepperoni was grilled way too little (hard). Food wasn't really good. I wouldn't go there again. The young service staff were always trying hard.

Our "regular Greek" for 36 years, everything fits, otherwise we wouldn't be here so often. Food is always fresh on the table and the meat (especially the liver) tastes great. As a side salad there is coleslaw decorated with tzatziki and tomato, cucumber and pepperoni - which I prefer to eat rather than a "green" salad. (Note: we haven't had a tzatziki once in 36 years, just ask again if necessary)

Greek food is my absolute favorite. But not here, tastes like it was thawed and then fried. Quality of the meat is not good. We like salad straight out of the bucket at the discount store. Fries were horrible and tasted like old grease. Our grill plates didn't have tzatziki on them. Never again

Leider enttäuschend. Der Salat nicht frisch sondern aus Gläsern mit Konservierungsstoffen. Das Fleisch wie aufgewärmt. Es kam nicht so wie bestellt. Entweder fehlte etwas oder wurde falsch gebracht. Dieses Restaurant kann ich nicht empfehlen. Da kenne ich bessere griechische Restaurants.

We come to eat every Christmas...There's simply nothing to complain about here

Wir waren gestern Abend mit 6 Leuten da.Und es war mega klasse. Wir wurden herzlichst empfangen, und wurden zum reservierten Tisch gebracht. Die Bedienung war super freundlich und die Getränke und die Speisen kamen ruckzuck. Das Essen war spitzenmäßig und die Portionen fast nicht zu schaffen. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder.

Sehr gutes Essen zu einem guten Preis. Hier bekommt man gut etwas auf seinen Teller! Ein doch gutes griechisches Restaurant im Herzen von Mettingen. Leider war es an diesem Tag sehr voll, weswegen es zu leichten Verzögerungen in der Bedienung kam, was aber in guter Gesellschaft nicht wirklich zum Tragen kommt.

Wir sind immer gerne Gäste in dem Restaurant Akropolis.Das Essen ist immer sehr lecker, nichts zu beanstanden und die Bedienung ist freundlich und flott, also meine uneingeschränkte Empfehlung. Noch ein Rat, am besten immer den Tisch vorbestellen, andere wissen auch um die Qualitäten dieses Hauses..

Super nette Bedienung. Essen war top und der Preis-Leistungsverhältnis unschlagbar. Essen haben wir einpacken lassen. Wer großen Hunger hat ist da genau richtig. Wir gehen auf jedenfall wieder hin. Schade das man nur Bar bezahlen kann.

Schon seit vielen Jahren unser Lieblingsgrieche. Sehr gute Qualität aller Speisen. Besonders alle Fleischgerichte sind hervorragend. Salate und Soßen hausgemacht. Große Portionen und eine Chefin zum Knuddeln. Macht weiter so.

War super lecker und toller Ambiente.

Wir waren hier Ende Oktober 2021 und es hat uns mal wieder sehr gut geschmeckt. Die hergerichteten Speisen sind ganz frisch zubereitet und es wird sehr gutes Fleisch verwendet. Auch die Wirtin ist recht nett und spricht auch gerne mal mit den Kunden, besonders wenn diese schon mal in ihrer griechischen Heimat waren. Ein Stern fehlt, weil das Ambiente und der Zugang zu den Toiletten etwas altbacken erscheint. Dennoch meinerseits sehr zu empfehlen. Gerne jederzeit wieder 👍🥗🥘👏

Wir waren an einem Samstagabend hier und ich war das erste mal im AKROPOLIS. Uns hat es sehr gut gefallen, das Essen war sehr lecker, super freundliche Bedienung, gemütliche Atmosphäre. Es wäre schön gewesen, wenn man auf dem Teller der Hauptspeise noch einen Schlag Tzatziki bekommen hätte, so musste man sich Tzatziki extra bestellen. Schade, es ist nur Bezahlung möglich. Wir freuen uns schon auf das nächste mal !

Das Essen war super lecker !!! , würden wir dort wohnen, wäre es mein Stammlokal. Hut ab !!!! In diesem Restaurant werden die Hygieneregeln vorbildlich eingehalten!!!!, mehr und besser geht es wirklich nicht. Selbst die laminierten Speisekarten und Kugelschreiber werden nach jedem Tisch desinfiziert!!!!

Vanavond hier heerlijk gegeten, goede hoeveelheid en erg goed van smaak. Je kunt proeven dat alles zelf bereid is. Vriendelijke bediening en de eigenaresse heeft voor ons een speciale koffie met metaxa gemaakt terwijl die niet op de kaart staat. Aanrader

Das Essen war sehr lecker , reichhaltig und vor allem auf den Punkt zubereitet, Freundliche Bedienung die sehr umsichtig dem Gast die Wünsche erfüllt , Klasse Service aus dem Hintergrund , Prima gemacht.
