Today, after a long time, we had dinner in the meadow again. And what can I say, it's always an experience to stay here. The portions are gigantic, the price is minimal. The quality of the food is incredibly good. The service was really nice and polite. Always my pleasure. Absolutely recommended!!!

We celebrated our son's school entry in this restaurant. Everything has been thought of. Our waitress Marc was extremely friendly to our invited guests. There were about 20 of us guests and all of our dishes were brought at the same time. My family was so excited that it became their regular restaurant. We come here very often, the food is always delicious and the service is always super nice.

All in all, the inn is quite good. My food tasted very good. The other two were good but only average. The service made a lot of effort to bridge the very long waiting time (1 hour). Considering that every restaurant has to struggle with staff, it was okay and I can recommend it to others.

Friendly service. Food came quickly, but not edible. The chanterelles were drowned in cream sauce, a shame about the beautiful mushroom.

Went to the restaurant on Sunday and were very disappointed. We waited over an hour for our food and when it finally came the portions were very small and not appropriate for the price. We won't be coming back.

Despite pre-ordering, we waited over an hour for our food in the beer garden on Sunday. Unfortunately it was also difficult to sit because the chairs were totally wobbly. Portion sizes leave a lot to be desired! When my wife ordered the meal (steak au four), you had to look for the seasoning on the steak. The waiter pointed this out, unfortunately no reaction, just acknowledgment. The kitchen seemed to be completely overwhelmed.

First the positive: We spontaneously got a nice table for four for Sunday lunch. Unfortunately, that was the only thing that worked here in the meadow that day. Unfortunately, with two children we waited almost 2 hours for our food. When it finally arrived, unfortunately it wasn't what we had ordered, but we swapped it with each other so that it somehow fit. To further disappoint, the chanterelles were cold and the portions were different sizes. Then came the biggest catastrophe! What was going on in the kitchen when a trained chef made a terrible red sugar paste as tomato sauce? The service was courteous and understanding, so we didn't have to pay for this dish and also got espresso and an iced tea on the house. But my son left the restaurant hungry. Unfortunately, we are very disappointed and very much hope that the quality of the restaurant will improve again. 🙏🏼

Absolutely great regional cuisine!

This inn was recommended to us and it is definitely worth a visit. We had a delicious meal. The steak was perfectly cooked, wonderfully seasoned and super tender. The schnitzels were also very good. Highly recommended to eat once!

Has slowed down a lot, beer garden: Despite a reservation, there was no greeting!!!, the waitress was busy making entries at the checkout, you could see the stress on her face, the guest was disturbing!! Then the order: after 40!! Within minutes the drinks arrived 15 minutes later the food. Two waitresses, one gentleman at the counter, everyone completely overwhelmed, beer garden not even half full. The boss was just there, without any work involvement. Let's see when the last guest is scared away.

We pre-booked a table for Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. days in advance. I can only recommend pre-ordering the table. Four of us were there for our birthday and enjoyed the chilled atmosphere. Bringing time is also important, this restaurant is not a hit and miss place. Great food. We felt very comfortable and would love to come back. Praise to the service, which was very on point. We visited the restaurant for a barbecue evening. It's very comfortable to sit in the beer garden, but the DJ was sometimes a little too good with the volume of the music. The food was very tasty and the price-performance ratio was good. Particularly noteworthy is the friendliness and attentiveness of the service with Asian roots. Top! We would love to come back and try the dishes on the menu!

A nice restaurant was very inviting to linger. Among other things, delicious common food tasted very good. Nice service and great ambience. And it's great that dogs are allowed, which is very important for us.

The food is good, home-style and regional, the dishes were fresh and presented appetizingly. Unfortunately the service wasn't as good as the food. Forgotten orders, insufficient information about allergens. Overall, the gentleman seemed very bored and uninterested.

We were here for lunch on Pentecost Sunday. The restaurant was really well attended. We were greeted very friendly and shown to the table. The service was very attentive, quick and super friendly. Drinks were served promptly. The food tasted very good and was really appetizing and nicely presented. Portions were very ok. Special requests were responded to in a friendly manner. The price/performance ratio is fine and reasonable. All in all, a successful lunch. We would love to come back and can happily recommend the inn.

Whether hungry or enjoying... a top address!

Great gastronomy in the town of Herrenhof/Thuringia. Were guests at the inn twice. We quickly got a table. Just as quickly, the attentive host realized that we were thirsty and quickly took action to remedy the situation. On the first day I ordered a large version of spiced meat, which tasted very good. On the second day the kitchen spoiled us with the 400g schnitzel. The schnitzel was tender and well prepared, the cream mushrooms and peas went very well with it. I was served a solyanka as a starter, which also tasted very good. I would particularly like to praise the gentleman from the service. Always attentive and friendly, he went about his work and made sure that nothing was missing, even though the inn was busy. The prices are reasonable, but since we were very thirsty the bill was a little higher than usual. Unfortunately the weather was too cool for the attached beer garden. If Georgenthal is on the itinerary again, the Gasthof Zur Aue will again be our first choice.

The inn “Zur Aue” was recommended to us. There were so many delicious dishes on the menu, I stupidly chose the steak (medium rare). Unfortunately it wasn't as good as expected: it wasn't hot enough and I felt like I had to chew on it forever. Unfortunately the fries weren't very hot either (but tasty). The meat in my junior's burger wasn't really warm either. Yes, man... What a shame, I unfortunately lost the desire to visit again... The food is probably freshly prepared, the waiting time was correspondingly long and this is also indicated on the menu. Otherwise we were satisfied with the ambience and the attentiveness/friendliness of the waiter. Background music was okay too 👍

The food is, as always, very good, but the furnishings are really getting a bit old.

Very good food, I have rarely eaten such a good beef steak. The pepper sauce was also outstanding, nice and peppery. Cozy atmosphere, all in all a very good, recommended restaurant.

Pure disappointment! Received a burger last night where the meat was still raw. The second attempt also went wrong. Chicken like rubber, questionable whether it was even chicken meat. The burger was inedible and was also returned! There was also no arugula on the burger even though it was on the menu. To top it off: I was charged full for the burger!!! 12.80 euros for not having anything to eat!

The inside looks like a rustic farmhouse with lots of dead animals on the walls, but the food tasted great, was rich and the price was acceptable and the service was very nice and polite. We'd love to come back!

I had to adjust my reviews now. The food is still very good, despite the occasional change in operator. The service is also good, but the waiting times for the food are sometimes very long.

So, I was there for dinner recently. The ambience is totally my thing, very cozy and the food was also extremely tasty. Roast venison with dumplings, red cabbage, cranberries. So 😋 delicious. The service was quick, even though it was a full house. The price-performance ratio is completely ok. Because good things don’t have to be expensive. One of the few inns that offer good traditional German cuisine. That's the way it has to be. But you should make sure that you reserve a table, so you don't have any stress, you can relax, and the people there don't have any stress either. Keep it up and thumbs up. 👍👍👍👍👍

It is a cozy country inn in the best sense of the word. The food was rich and delicate. The service was more than friendly. There were guests and apparently regulars there (skat group) and everyone was friendly and you didn't feel strange or excluded as a stranger.

The food was great. Everything was very tasty and plentiful. The ambience is a bit too dark for me. Otherwise everything is very 👍.

The plates were probably kept in the fridge before the food was filled (ice cold!!) This meant that the food (which tasted very good) got cold very quickly. A pity!

Wir waren zur Silvesterparty in der Aue. Am tollen Essen und der Arbeit der Servickräfte gibt es nichts zu beanstanden. An der völligen Überplatzierung des Saales schon. Er wurden auch nach dem Einlassen um 19 Uhr noch Tische und Stühle gerückt und zugestellt , so daß die Tanzflächen auf nicht mehr als einen breiteren Gang schrumpfte. Die Musik war Geschmackssache, auch wenn mehrere Gäste ,im Vergleich zu vergangenen Jahren enttäuscht waren ist das nicht dem Veranstalter anzurechnen sondern unserer mangelnden Information im Vorgeld. Es waren viel zu viele Gäste in den Saal gepresst worden , was dieser Veranstaltung einen großen Abbruch tat.

Essen ist super, sehr nettes Personal. Die Ausstattung ist ein wenig in die Jahre gekommen, aber insgesamt ein angenehmer Aufenthalt.

Wir waren im Rahmen des Geburtstages meiner Oma in den Gasthof und haben diesen einige Wochen vorher mit dem Chef angesprochen wie wir was wünschen! Wir begannen mit Kaffee trinken und Kuchen essen was natürlich nicht das Kerngeschäft des Gasthofes ist, aber wenn man einem Gast etwas zusagt, muss man auch dafür sorgen, dass Personal im Haus ist, welches dies bewerkstelligen und leisten kann! Dies war aber leider nicht der Fall! Wir bekamen lieblos unsere Kuchenstücke hingestellt und genau ein Getränk pro Gast, ohne zusätzlicher Aufforderung unsererseits! Auch wurde zwischendurch kein Geschirr abgeräumt, dies haven wir zum Großen Teil selbst gemacht, indem wir es auf die Fehler gestellt haben! Ich finde spätestens dann hätte man bemerken müssen, dass dies nicht die Aufgabe des Gastes sondern des hauseigenen Personals ist! Leider zog sich der Unmut bis zum Schluss durch! Am selben Abend fand eine größere Veranstaltung im Haus statt, deshalb bekamen wir noch vor 17:00 die Abendkarte hingelegt mit der Bitte direkt zu bestellen, da später keine Zeit mehr sei! Dies haben wir abgewehrt und nach längerer Verhandlung und vielen unsympathischen Worten ändern können! Als das Essen kam, war dies nur lauwarm! Geschmacklich gut, aber alles andere als heiß! Wir wurden den gesamten Nachmittag und Abend von mehreren Angestellten bedient! Leider können wir an dieser Stelle nicht einmal den Chef positiv hervorheben, lediglich ein jüngerer Angestellten (männlich) der trotz allem immer wieder freundlich war und die Unfreundlichkeit und Fehler des Hauses versucht hat auszubügeln! Ich komme selbst aus der Gastronomie und ich weiß was es bedeutet ein Restaurant gut am laufen zu halten, aber in diesem Gasthof hat man es scheinbar nicht nötig freundlich zu sein und Geld zu verdienen! Wie gesagt… geschmacklich war es gut und ein junger Angestellter war super! Der Rest war leider mangelhaft! Wir können den Gasthof, zumindest für eine kleinere Familienfeier nicht empfehlen!

Sucht man Thüringer Küche ist man hier richtig. Frisch zubereitet braucht seine Zeit, aber dann ist das Essen harmonisch gewürzt und gut angerichtet. Die Einrichtung ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Wir wünschen dem Team gutes Durchhaltevermögen.

Der Service hat auf sich warten lassen. Essen war gute Hausmannskost. Das Ambiente ist seit Jahren unverändert.

Wir haben eine Veteinssitzung mit 25 Leuten gemacht. Der Service war super schnell und das Essen war hervorragend. Zu meiner Forelle bekam ich ein schönes Fischmesser. Das findet man nur noch selten. Wir werden immer wieder gern zurückkommen.

Gutes und sehr reichliches Essen. Sehr nettes Personal. Auch kleinere Feiern können hier abgehalten werden. Getrennter Bereich ist hierfür vorhanden. Lediglich fürs Ambiente muss ich einen Stern abziehen weil hier und da doch mal ein paar Sanierungsarbeiten nötig wären. Trotz dessen ist alles sauber.

Sehr gutes bürgerliches Essen, mit viel Liebe auf den Tellern hergerichtet. Die Gaststätte ist rustikal alt eingerichtet. An Parkplätzen vor der Tür mangelt es leider.

Preis / Leistung ist Top . Die Portionen sind recht groß und schmecken tut es auch noch , da ja alles frisch , also ich hatte ein Schnitzel mit Würzfleisch und Pommes mit Salat . Lecker!! Einrichtung sieht sehr schön aus , sauber ist auch alles . Was will man mehr ?

Wir waren leider nicht überzeugt von diesem Restaurant. Wir haben recht lang auf das Essen gewartet und es hat geschmacklich nicht überzeugt. Die Kellner waren freundlich aber eher langsam. Es lief für uns zu laute Ballermanmusik.

Eine typische deutsche Gaststätte in traditionell thüringischen Ambiente. Klassische Gerichte wie Schnitzel oder Hirschbraten mit Klößen werden gekonnt und schmackhaft zubereitet. Die Portionen sind ausreichend groß, um satt zu werden und in einem angemessenen Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis. Samstagabend ist eine Reservierung ratsam.

Ein wunderbarer Gasthof bei dem sich ein Besuch lohnt. Gute bürgerliche Küche mit dem gewissen etwas. Das Preis - Leistungsverhältnis stimmt und die subjektiv empfunden Preisgestaltung ist fair. Das Essen an sich ist sehr gut, schön angerichtet und kommt in ausreichender Menge. Die Speise und Getränkekarte bietet eine große Auswahl ohne überladen zu wirken Der Biergarten ist gepflegt und das allgemeine Ambiente passt. Die die Bedienung ist aufmerksam und sehr freundlich. Bei grossen Andrang gibt es kleinere Wartezeiten. Aber auf guten Service und gutes Essen wartet man sicherlich gerne. ;) Der einzige Kritikpunkt, wäre auch nur das die sanitären Anlagen eine Erneuerung bedürfen. Alles in allem: sehr gerne wieder!

Spontane Einkehr. Männliche Servicekraft sehr freundlich. Besonders gut gefallen hat uns, dass Zeit für ein persönliches Gespräch genommen wurde. Das Essen wurde liebevoll angerichtet und schmeckte uns persönlich sehr gut ( Hähnchen mit Pfirsiche und Käse überbacken sowie Schnitzel). Preise sind angemessen! Gasthaus rustikal eingerichtet, für uns war das "Wohlfühlen wie Zuhause"... bin während des Essens aus meinen Schuhen geschlüpft 🤭! Wir können es gelassen WEITEREMPFEHLEN!
