Zimmer kann ich nicht bewerten da wir immer nur zum Essen das sind. Es ist immer sehr lecker. Die Preise sind auch völlig in Ordnung. Kommen immer wieder gerne. Lg M.Hinz

Wir waren über Ostern im Gasthaus essen. Ich hatte das Krenfleisch und meine Gemahlin den Lammbraten. Diese beiden Gerichte waren okay, aber unserer Meinung nach weit von einer der Spitzenwertungen hier entfernt. Auf beiden Tellern war das Fleisch okay. Die Bohnen zum Lamm meiner Frau waren eher grau-grün und wohl nicht ganz frisch zubereitet. Die Soße zum Krenfleisch hat auch jegliche Raffinesse vermissen lassen. Geschmacklich erinnerte sie an eine uninspirierte Béchamelsoße mit Kren die wohl schon ein paar Minütchen länger auf dem Herd warmgehalten worden ist. Wenn man nur den frischen Kren, der auf dem Fleisch war, kurz vor dem Servieren in eine Béchamelsoße eingearbeitet und das ganze mit einer Spur Zitrone abgerundet hätte. Die Klöße waren okay, aber auch hier fehlte uns irgendwie das bisschen mehr … Unserer Meinung nach kann man ordentlich essen, aber extra hinfahren würden wir dazu nicht.

Wir waren auf der Suche nach einer Gaststätte wo es noch "Stockfisch" zum Essen gibt ! Ich kenne das Fischgerichte aus meiner Kindheit und Jugend ,das gehörte zu Ostern dazu wie bunte Eier , wir sind dann also im Zegasttal bei Ottmar gelandet ! Der Stockfisch zubereitet "wie aus Omas Küche " hervorragende Qualität, die Portionen sehr reichlich der Preis dafür ist zeitgemäß . Unsere Suche ist an diesem Samstag Abend kurz vor Ostern erfolgreich beendet worden und ein Lob an die Küche (Ottmar) im Zegasttal musste einfach einmal sein ! Gruß von Albert und seiner Familie

Wir waren über ein verlängertes Wochenende im Thal zu Besuch und kommen eigentlich aus München. Auf der Suche nach einem guten Wirtshaus sind wir hier gelandet und wir wurden absolut nicht enttäuscht. Das Essen war super lecker! Ich hatte das Cordon Bleu, das wirklich riesig war und geschmacklich einfach top. Man merkt, dass hier mit Qualität gekocht wird. Auch der Preis war mehr als fair für die Portionen und die Qualität des Essens. Insgesamt ein richtig gemütliches Wirtshaus mit toller Atmosphäre. Von uns eine klare Empfehlung – wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!

Wir waren zum Mittagessen hier. Sehr gutes Essen und vernünftige Preise. Personal super freundlich und schnell. Nur zu empfehlen. Von außen unscheinbar aber innen echt schön. Prima organisiert.

Die Spitzenbewertungen sind absolut gerechtfertigt. Wir waren heute erstmalig im Gasthof Zegasttal zu Gast und konnten uns selbst davon überzeugen. Aufmerksamer und freundlicher Service, sehr nettes und sauberes Ambiente und eine hervorragende Küche. Wir hatten Rumpsteak, Schweinefilet und Gänsebrust und alle Gerichte waren geschmacklich ein Traum. Auch auf die Wünsche der Kinder (Kloß mit Soß 😁 ) wurde eingegangen und es hat ihnen geschmeckt. Ebenfalls ist die abwechslungsreiche Speisekarte, die jeweils auch ein Gericht für Vegetarier und Veganer beinhaltet, hervorzuheben. Mein Schlussfazit: Hier schmeckt es einfach und das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis stimmt. Wir kommen wieder.....

Waren schon öfter hier zum Essen, aber heute hat sich der Chef mit seinem Team selbst übertroffen. Das Valentinstagsmenü war der Hammer. Preis- Leistungs- Verhältnis, viel zu billig für dies hervorragende Menü.

Ruhige Lage (wenn man es nicht kennt, muss man allerdings echt bisschen suchen). Essen und Getränke waren preis/Leistungsmäßig sehr in Ordnung, Gute Auswahl und reichliche Portionen. Zu den Zimmern kann ich keine Angabe machen, aber es macht einen gemütlichen Eindruck zum Verweilen. Zum Personal muss man nichts sagen - absolute 10/10. Unterm Strich sehr zu empfehlen - gerne wieder.

We were here for my mother's 70th birthday. The German cuisine was excellent. The owner still cooks himself, and you can taste the difference. Hospitality is paramount. The rooms are very clean but rather traditionally furnished. Nevertheless, I slept very well. Thumbs up to the service staff as well. Truly friendly and efficient.

We had lunch there with our family on October 3rd. The food was delicious: roasts, stir-fries, and vegetarian options. There was something for everyone. Special requests were accommodated. The staff were very friendly and attentive. We highly recommend this inn.

I ate there with my husband for the first time today. The food was simply amazing. We sat on the terrace, half sun and half shade, perfect. The service was excellent, very friendly and very accommodating. If we have time again, we'd love to come back.

Everyone enjoyed the food, the service was top-notch...no one had to wait long, everyone got their food at the same time, and we were repeatedly asked if we wanted any drinks or anything else...everyone felt at home...my guests also booked rooms and were very impressed by the friendly service and the wonderful, extensive breakfast ☺️Many thanks to the whole team ☺️

Waren zwei Nächte im Gasthaus Zum Zegasstal. Die Einrichtung ist nicht auf dem neuesten Stand, aber dafür ist alles sehr sauber. Der Chef und seine Mitarbeiter/innen sind sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Essen ist einfach super und wird schnell serviert. Lange Wartezeiten gibt es nicht. Egal was man isst, es schmeckt einfach toll und die Portionen sind reichlich. Ebenfalls sind Nachspeisen wärmsten zu empfehlen.

We always stop there when we are in flames on the way to Wallenfels to Rodach. The food was always good, the service was always attentive and friendly. We come back every year.

Great inn. From the outside we weren't sure at first. But once inside, everything was great. Very tasty and fresh food. We had soups, main courses and dessert. Everything very well prepared. Last Friday I ate at "Gasthof Zegasstal" again, and since it was my birthday, I asked the owner in advance to let his imagination run wild and prepare something off the menu. A starter, a main course and a dessert and I felt really fantastic on my birthday, all 3 dishes were a pleasant surprise, it was outstanding. Ottmar, thank you very much!

Sehr leckeres Essen und gute Getränke in uriger Atmosphäre. Wir hatten von Ochsenbäckchen bis Gänsebrust alles probiert und jedes Gericht war absolut zu empfehlen. Auch die Getränke schnell serviert und sehr lecker. Im Sommer ist die Terrasse ein Traum. Wir können hier gerne her und das auf jeden Fall auch wieder. Einzige Anmerkung: keine Gerichte für Veganer, aber vegetarische Alternativen gibt es. Diese habe ich aber noch nicht probiert.

We were on the way home from a weekend trip, very hungry and therefore overjoyed to be able to get lunch here at short notice despite it being Sunday. 😅 The food was very tasty and the service was so friendly and funny - she should give training courses according to the motto: 'This is how service works!' 🙂 If we're in the area again, we'd love to come back here!

Lovely little hidden inn, with lovely views. Had a rump steak with fries and herb butter, it was perfectly medium rare, every bite was tender on the palate. I also have a Scherdel Zoigl on tap. The service is friendly and quick, if you like good food at affordable prices, this is the place for you.

Best bread soup I've had in a long time

We happened to pass by here today because we were hungry, thirsty and looking for a place to stay for the night. The first two things were completed to our complete satisfaction. The food was very good and so was the beer. Unfortunately there was no room left, but we were helped with a recommendation in the neighboring town. Mega friendly staff. We'd love to come back. We've had dinner there several times and one or two family celebrations have also been held at the Gasthof zum Zegasttal. I can't say anything about the hotel as we usually visit the inn as part of family reunions. Super friendly, fast staff welcomes and really looks after all guests very attentively. Excellent food (roulades like grandma's, excellent game, the finest dumplings) and the quiet location with an idyllic view round off a pleasant stay. You can really have a good time here!

We ate there again and what can I say... Hammer! A pleasure through and through. There was tongue with horseradish sauce that was the best sauce I have ever tasted. I take this almost every time I'm there. A dream. The staff is very courteous and on the ball. Always friendly, always up for a joke. Unfortunately, the only thing that doesn't make it the number 1 meeting place is the location. We drive 1.5 hours but keep coming back for such good food

We actually expected that we wouldn't be able to get a place because of the holiday, but a quick call beforehand convinced us otherwise. And after a short wait (not really noticeable) we had our very good meal. We were very satisfied! We would definitely like to come back here soon. It's already being planned.

Friends invited us to dinner today for their birthday. Were warmly greeted by the service staff and our wishes were accepted. All of the food was excellently prepared and not to mention the taste...a real treat for the palate!!!! We can only recommend this inn. You rarely get one like this anymore good, tasty food in a cozy atmosphere and excellent service in our area. And one thing is for sure...we're already looking forward to the next one Just !!!!!!!!

Wir waren gestern zum Abendessen dort, es war hervorragend.Das Steak war spitze auf den Punkt wie wir es bestellt haben.Das Schweinefilet war leider zu durch und zu trocken.Die Champignon Rahmsoße mit Bandnudeln war ein Gedicht.Der Service war 1a sehr nett und zuvorkomment.Wir kommen wieder ,kann das Lokal sehr empfehlen.

Ein Landgasthof mit einfacher Übernachtung und gutem Essen. Ich würde hier wieder übernachten und bestimmt auch was leckeres Essen. Der Wirt und das Personal sind freundlich, die halbe 'Zoigl' schmeckt sehr gut. Das Frühstück war okay, wir haben uns mit unserer Motorradgruppe wohlgefühlt.
