I love our village restaurant. Irmgard cooks wonderfully. ❤️ The salad dressing in particular is the best I've ever eaten anywhere. But everything else is always perfect and delicious. If you like home-style cooking, you're in good hands here. The innkeeper Theo...well, he's special and you have to know how to take him. My family and I like and appreciate him very much. For strangers: be prepared for humor that ranges from extra-dry to black and sarcastic. 😉 Cheeky counterattacks are welcome at Theo. But no malice. So stay within the framework of good behavior. Enjoy it! You will be amazed!

Our class reunion after 45 years... It could have been such a lovely evening... I discovered the restaurant by chance about six months ago in the little village of Afffeln and had lunch there with my husband on Sunday. It was delicious , the portions were normal size and the landlord and owner was very, very friendly. When I organized a class reunion, I chose this friendly, rustic restaurant because I had good memories of it and it wasn't that far from Plettenberg... .But our visit was really a disaster. Not only was my classmates asking me how I came across this place because of the small portions, but the waitress, estimated to be around 50 years old, with glasses and short hair, was so unfriendly that I... I would have loved to have gone straight back when I arrived. I just didn't know where to go in Afffeln with over 20 people, no matter how spontaneous. I had reserved our table months in advance for 6 p.m. When I was called 10 days before, I confirmed that everyone would be coming, but I also said that if there was a large group, someone could get sick. The lady who was on the phone responded very friendly and said it was natural that a few people wouldn't come at short notice, that wouldn't be a problem and I didn't have to call again, everything was fine. Everything was fine up until then. When I... When I arrived on Saturday evening at 5 p.m., an hour beforehand in order to eat alone in peace, the waitress was almost horrified when I was there an hour early and she didn't like the fact that I sat down at a small table in the front of the restaurant and had something I wanted to order directly just for me. She was so unfriendly, as I will describe in a moment. .I was really a nuisance. She calmly served another table with about 6 people and didn't take my order, didn't give me a card even after I asked, I had to wait. First the others had their turn before me. The friendly host then gave me the card and immediately took my food order and then told it to the waitress 🤦. As I said, it was a few minutes after 5 p.m. At 5:45 p.m. I asked the landlord again about the food, he went into the kitchen and after a few minutes my food came from a young lady who also worked there. The waitress had probably also blocked this so that my individual meal came to the table in front of the large group , although she knew that I wanted to eat in peace in advance and didn't want to eat later with the whole class. I even explained to her the reason why I had to leave earlier. The waitress wasn't interested in that at all... it continued like that in the evening that my order only came when she said it was my turn and that's what she told me...after repeated requests, she finally took the others' orders and complained that we weren't complete, then she had it Other guests were able to accept other guests throughout the evening...it was strange that two tables remained free the whole time! So she could have accepted two more tables, one way or another. The atmosphere created by this waitress was so bad that we just had to shake our heads. In the end there was no dessert, because we would have had to order it earlier, although we asked the other waitress twice about dessert and my school colleagues were also surprised...there was only ice cream. The portions were very small but tasted good. It was a restaurant where I have to say that a waitress like that should be sent home immediately. She first has to learn how to behave normally towards people and customers. I feel really sorry for the friendly innkeeper and it's so sad that his cousin is so kind and unfriendly.

Traditioneller, gut bürgerlicher Gasthof im Sauerland. Eher älteres einfaches Ambiente, aber leckeres Essen, faire Preise und nette Bedienung. Wir waren dort schon häufiger sonntags zum Essen und werden sicher wiederkommen. Zu empfehlen!

Hallo liebe Wortmanns und alle Helfer, was Ihr in Corona Zeiten und auch schon die Jahre zuvor leistet ist bemerkenswert. Eure Speisen sind dringend zu empfehlen weil sie einfach nur gut sind. Ob Schnitzelvariationen, der phänomenale Rostbraten oder auch Gulaschsuppe sind nur eine Auswahl an Gerichten, die es lohnt zu genießen. Macht weiter so und bleibt gesund !

Das ist der Treffpunkt des Dorfes Affeln. Wen jemand interessiert an dem Dorfleben ist, sollte diese Kneipe besuchen.

Es war ein wirklich schöner Abend. Ich konnte mit alten und neuen Bekannten einen wunderschönen Abend verbringen. Die Stimmung in dieser Lokalität war sehr herzlich und einladend.

Wir waren auf einem Samstagabend (leider) die einzigen, aber es war ein erstklassiges Essen: das Salatdressing schmeckte selbstgemacht und der Salat war frisch, die Bratkartoffeln waren toll gebraten und die Schnitzel haben jedem von uns sehr zugesagt. Geschmacklich war es unerwartet sehr gut und wir werden auf jeden Fall wieder dahin fahren.

Die Karte bietet eine kleine Auswahl klassischer Gerichte. Das Essen war hervorragend und das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist gut. Das Ambiente ist etwas altbacken im 70er Jahre-stil gehalten. Die Bedienung war aufmerksam und freundlich. Wir werden dort gerne wieder Essen.
