We celebrated our church wedding here last week with 90 people and are still thrilled! The organization was seamless, and we were always available to answer any questions or requests. The team at Oberer Wirt fulfilled our every wish. My husband even got to tap the beer keg himself, which was a little dream come true for him. :) The service is incredibly attentive and prompt; at the end of the party, the lovely staff even cleared away our own table decorations so we could easily pick them up the next day. All of our guests had a wonderful time, too. We thank the entire team for this wonderful celebration and will definitely be back soon!

Today, we had meatballs with colleagues. We wondered where the meat was because, judging by the consistency, there couldn't have been much. According to the menu, it was supposed to be seasoned with marjoram and flat-leaf parsley, but there was no sign of that in either the look or taste. Unfortunately, it was a disappointment, considering the other dishes had made a good impression :-(

We were hired as a band for a wedding. The staff was super attentive. Always on the ball and never irritating. The food was excellent and the portions were reasonable – and the price was reasonable. Highly recommended.

At the Gasthof zum Oberen Wirt, only a limited number of dishes are served, which usually indicates higher-quality cuisine. This is also the case here. In addition to a few daily specials, there is the regular menu, which, as expected, is rather meat-heavy. After ordering, there is a wait. This speaks volumes about the kitchen. Indications of food intolerances are taken seriously. If you are unsure, the kitchen will be contacted again. The service is generally good, but not outstanding. The food is delicious and tastes fresh. The portions are generous. There is a separate children's menu, which is quite varied and goes beyond the usual fries. The menu can be colored in, and appropriate markers are provided. The prices are moderate. It's worth eating here. We'll be happy to return. Since others feel the same way, making a reservation is highly recommended.

Our current experience – unfortunately, disappointing this time We have been guests at this restaurant for many years and have hosted numerous family celebrations here. However, we were a bit disappointed yesterday: • The turkey in the fitness salad was very dry and unfortunately didn't seem freshly prepared, but rather warmed up. • Some lettuce leaves weren't cleaned properly, but overall the salad was fresh. • The portion of fries with the schnitzel was quite small this time. Otherwise, everything was fine, and the service was friendly as always. However, we didn't find the value for money this time – especially the fitness salad for €17.90, in our opinion, is disproportionate to the quality. We will take a short break for now and return to Alling/Biburg more often in the future.

A superb restaurant with a beer garden under chestnut trees! Reservations are recommended. A beautiful chime resonates from the village church every hour on the hour – something you rarely hear these days. The service is also excellent – ​​very attentive and customer-focused. We visited the beer garden with friends – the food was simply outstanding. I can wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant – everything was just right, and the atmosphere during our stay was simply wonderful!

There was a problem right from the start with the reservation – we had reserved the beer garden, but there was only room on the (much less shady) terrace – "the colleague made a mistake." Then we fell victim to an overzealous kitchen crew: instead of the salad we ordered as an appetizer, the main course arrived in a flash, followed by the salad immediately afterward... The suckling pig was dry to the point of being tough, the sauce was bland, the potato dumplings had the perfect consistency but were as flavorless as the sauce. The highlight, however, was the coleslaw! The apple fritters were also great! All in all – you don't need to come here. Even the very, very nice waiter can't make up for that.

I've been there several times over the past few years. I've known the restaurant for over 25 years and can't fault it; in fact, I can only praise everything. Excellent food, pleasant atmosphere, friendly staff...

We were in the beer garden yesterday, and as far as the food goes, I can't quite figure out what was supposed to be good about it. The beer roast was really, really salty and was only edible with the potato and cucumber salad, which had almost no taste. The giant currywurst had obviously been on the grill since mid-morning, the fries were dry, and the curry sauce was also unbearable. Only the Gilchinger schnitzel was so-so, although the fried potatoes had almost no taste. To sum it up, we definitely won't be going back because, apart from the far too high prices, the restaurant is below average.

The worst cheese spaetzle I've ever eaten. Fried onions (confinière) and roasted rock-hard in the deep fryer. The supposedly boned duck was the same deep-fried piece I get at an Asian restaurant. Only not sweet and sour, but with dumplings and red cabbage.

Spontan am Sonntagabend angerufen und gefragt ob noch ein Platz verfügbar ist - er war verfügbar. Dort eingetroffen ist sofort die gemütliche Gaststube aufgefallen. Traditionell aber nicht altbacken. Die Karte schließt sich dem an. Bayrische Wirtshausklassiker und saisonal eine Spargelkarte. Leider war der Hirsch am Abend schon aus (da wurde auch direkt drauf hingewiesen). Also wurden es 2 Suppen, die Ente und der Schweinekrustenbraten. Das Essen kam zügig und war einfach nur lecker. Die Portionen waren für sehr gute Esser ausgelegt. Service schnell und freundlich. Preis-/Leistung passt total. Genügend Parkplätze waren vorhanden und Zahlung per Karte war ohne Probleme möglich.

For me, the Obere Wirt is a guarantee of a cultivated Bavarian lifestyle. Great, freshly tapped beer, exceptionally good cuisine and all at really reasonable prices. I come here regularly with my family and have never had a bad experience.

If you like Bavarian cuisine, you'll get your money's worth here. The roast venison was very tasty. The portions are plentiful. The extremely attentive and friendly service is remarkable. We always feel very comfortable.

Bavarian inn with a large hall on the 1st floor. Diverse menu where everyone can find something. Prices in the upper price segment, but the quality of the food is good. The half duck and the gourmet schnitzel from the daily menu were a poem. We were totally thrilled when we left the inn after a delicious dinner. Service was very attentive and really friendly.

We were invited to a Christmas party there on December 14th, 2024. We were absolutely thrilled not only by the very friendly staff, but also by the really excellent and plentiful food. Now that more and more restaurants are closing, we (from Gröbenzell) finally have an alternative for good Bavarian cuisine. Please stay like that, we'll be happy to come back.

Everything was great, only the portion was a bit small.

A traditional inn with still the typical wooden tables and chairs. The portions are more than generous and, as a Munich native, almost strange. The meat was prepared to the desired doneness. We have 2 portions of Kaiserschmarrn ordered to share. The service was nice and the waiting time was also reasonable.

There is still room for improvement when it comes to eating. The venison ragout was just fine. The red cabbage was probably not freshly made and tasted like gingerbread. Way too mushy and too sweet. Meat was also flaxy. The hall upstairs used to be much more comfortable than the Widmann. The service was top. There's nothing to complain about at all. On the contrary!!

Was at the inn for lunch today. The very nice service gave me a warm welcome. I decided on roast pork. This was very tender and delicious. The atmosphere in the restaurant is very cozy and inviting. My son even got crayons and coloring paper. The innkeeper also took his time and was available for a chat. Will definitely stop by again for a visit when I'm in the area.

The “Obere Wirt” in Gilching has a long history. The people of Gilching have been going there for many decades to enjoy Bavarian cuisine (at reasonable prices), to meet up, to chat... There are also larger guest rooms for weddings, etc., and even a theater stage. The “normal” guest room has been beautifully modernized and has become bright and friendly. The food is good, the portions are large. It's best to go with the typical Bavarian dishes such as roast pork, kässpätzle, etc. The salad is always fresh, the service is friendly, and special requests are also fulfilled. Personally, I'm glad that places like this still exist and hope it stays that way for a long time! In summer you can also sit outside.

Excellent dinner a stone's throw from Monaco. I had dinner twice in a row, I was so satisfied. Generous portions with a balance of meats and vegetables. Low price and great hospitality for me who could only speak a little English. Highly recommended for those who want to dine with Bavarian cuisine a stone's throw from Munich. I recommend booking. They also answer the phone in English, immediately putting you at ease.

Very nice restaurant, tried 3 different main courses so far, all excellent. Salad is also very good and fresh. The waitresses are quick and attentive.

But still hidden in the middle of town at the maypole. Parking spaces available. Very friendly and very well dressed service. All dishes have a very nice appearance and are very tasty. Meals priced from 9 to 30 euros. The plates are generously filled.

Down-to-earth Bavarian food with large portions. More mass than class, anyone looking for finesse will be disappointed. Salad was great, but the food only came lukewarm and the pork fillet in the Schwabenpfandl was fried for far too long and was dry and hard. Prices a bit high for the quality. The service was very attentive and friendly. Very busy, parking lot was completely full. There are enough parking spaces in the area. Overall just 4 stars. Despite everything in the surrounding area, apart from another restaurant with the same name, it's the best for solid Bavarian food.

Disabled parking spaces next to the house, toilets in the basement and accessible by elevator. There was a rich menu, and we chose salmon fillet, cheese spaetzle and so on The crowning finale is an apple cake. Everything was very tasty and plentiful, we would love to come back.

We were recently invited, I didn't know the place yet, everything from the service to the food was top notch. The salad with the absolutely juicy chicken and fantastically good sweet mustard dressing was absolutely delicious. The older lady who served us was so nice. The food of all the people who were invited there was fantastic. Greetings to the kitchen, keep it up! This will now be my go-to place for celebrating and spontaneously eating out.

We were here for a funeral. The waitresses are super friendly and the atmosphere is great too. Unfortunately, I may have had a bad day in the kitchen because the roast pork (not a crusty roast) was incredibly salty on the edges. Normally I only know this when you salt the rind to make it crispy. Since the piece had no rind, I didn't see the point of salting the edge. It wasn't just a little salty on the edge but also almost inedible. The inside of the roast pork was good and tender. Maybe the chef was just in love, I would definitely give Widmann another chance, despite the mixed experience.

Unsurpassedly good and plentiful food (huge salad plates), pleasant atmosphere on the terrace - except for the endless ringing of church tower bells if you sit there at the wrong time 😉. Very friendly waiters and relatively short waiting times. I think it's really good!
