Gasthof Velten in Neuwied

We had a small family reunion on Saturday, June 31, 2025. The service was very friendly and attentive. As mentioned, the food took a while to arrive, but that's to be expected when it's supposed to be delicious. The portions were very generous. Otherwise, the service was prompt and quick. We were all very satisfied.

We ate here on May 4, 2025. The ambiance fits the concept. However, the wait time was far too long at over 40 minutes, and our "special requests" were forgotten. The staff was friendly, and the food was delicious.

Sorry, but it was unfortunately on the lower end. The meat had no flavor and no seasoning. The salad was covered in a ready-made dressing, the kind you can buy at a discount store. The meat was dry and almost inedible. They used convenience foods that hadn't even been seasoned. The service was very friendly, and one dish wasn't charged. Please make more of an effort. There were two tables occupied, including us, so you have plenty of time.

Great cuisine and cozy atmosphere...

We were invited to my sister's house for Easter dinner. I had a Bernese schnitzel, which was great, my wife and sister had rump steak with various side dishes, my mother had brook trout. Everything was still nice and hot and looked nice too. The waiting time was normal.

Super Essen, wenn der Inhaber allein ist muss man eben verschmerzen das es länger dauert sein Bier zu bekommen aber das sei ihm verziehen weil er ja nebenbei kochen muss 😁

Das Bergkäseschnitzel war spitze! Schön renoviert, viel heller und angenehm. Wir kommen wieder!

Endlich hat der gasthof nach dem Brand wieder geöffnet.Man bekommt im Moment zwar nur Getränke, mit dem Essen dauert es noch ein wenig, aber im Februar soll es so weit sein. Dann gibt es wieder leckeres Essen. Wir freuen uns schon sehr darauf.
