Gasthof Rubihorn in Oberstdorf

The interior is a bit dated. The furnishings are from a bygone era and hark back to better times. But that's what makes this inn so charming. The food was a culinary Allgäu dream. Honest, rustic, German cuisine! ...The view deserves special mention, directly overlooking the entire Allgäu Alps. Magnificent! The service was attentive, friendly, and competent.

When people in southern Germany say it tastes like grandma's, that's the highest compliment you can pay the kitchen. And yes, the food simply made us happy. And the service was also incredibly friendly. The view of the mountains from the terrace is unobstructed and simply magnificent. We will eat here again and again. A brilliant alternative to the tourist restaurants in Oberstdorf.

We stopped here again yesterday afternoon after a hike with our dog and were served quickly and friendly on the beautiful terrace. The salad plates with fried rump steak strips and the Rubinger gourmet plate were fantastic. We'll be back soon!

I have to express my utmost respect to the lovely ladies who run this restaurant. Very friendly hosts; even without a reservation, we were very welcome with a group of ten. And we visited twice. It's a very nice restaurant, very tidy and clean. Friendly welcome and service. The food is delicious and, for me, has the highest rating. Simply top ❤️❤️❤️ I'm already looking forward to next year. A very quiet beer garden with a great panorama, friendly service, and delicious food. The menu isn't overly extensive either.👍🏼

The inn is in a very idyllic location, so we stopped in. The service was very monosyllabic. Not rude, but friendly could be better. The roast pork with red cabbage was good, but the gourmet dish was unfortunately very rich. The already substantial cheese spaetzle was topped with a very creamy mushroom sauce over the pork steaks. And the steaks were so dry, even the sauce didn't help. A side salad costs a hefty €6.50 extra. Unfortunately, this was a one-time visit for us.

Very good food, simply delicious. We had Maultaschen (swabian pasta) with onion sauce, apple fritters for dessert, and an eggnog cup (some of which had eggnog in it). Very good service. A little away from the hustle and bustle to enjoy the food and the scenery. We'd love to come back on our next vacation!

A great place to stop with a lovely, shady beer garden in summer temperatures. Friendly service, and even detailed explanations are provided if you don't know the names of dishes, such as the Gschollne Bratwurst. It was another very pleasant visit.

The service was incredibly warm, and the staff were always super friendly. The food was delicious. The service was very fast, and you got your food within 10 minutes of ordering at the most, and your drink almost immediately after ordering. A great place, very satisfied, I highly recommend it.

A pub with an idyllic beer garden beneath large chestnut trees behind the house. There's a small playground for children, and our four-legged friends are also welcome. The food is delicious and reasonably priced! A visit is worthwhile for both coffee and cake and hot meals!

The ambience was great, you have a wonderful view on the terrace, and the interior is also very nicely decorated. Unfortunately, the food wasn't quite my cup of tea, the cheese spaetzle was okay, the wrong cheese and not enough cheese. The roast pork was also okay, but unfortunately the sauce tasted a lot like broth powder. The service was polite and quick

Very unfriendly service! After we were ignored by the waitress for a long time, she greeted us and put the card on the table without saying a word. A good 20 minutes later we asked if we could order. The answer was that she only had two arms and it was full inside. We then left. I have complete understanding for service staff. But I have no understanding for the unfriendly and arrogant behavior of people who want my money. A kind word, and especially a greeting, would have helped a lot here. We won't be coming back!

A cozy stop at (after) lunchtime with coffee and cake after a hike or walk. Sweets and coffee are prepared very lovingly.

We stopped there briefly for coffee and cake. Sitting on the terrace you have a beautiful view of the mountains. If you don't want to walk there, there is a parking space right next door. The latte had too little coffee, too much milk and wasn't hot enough.

The Gasthof Rubihorn is located at the outskirts of Rubi and offers a panoramic view of the Oberstdorf mountains. We stopped there for lunch after a walk. The roast pork with potato dumplings and red cabbage was excellent and the waiting time was short for a full dining room. We would be happy to come by again for lunch.

We sat in the beer garden in the wonderful shade. The food was really very tasty and at a fair price. We were pleasantly surprised. The service was very friendly and attentive. Dogs were also lovingly cared for. There are lots of play options for children in the beer garden, which I also thought was great. We will be happy to come back.

Very nice little beer garden behind the inn, classic under the chestnut trees. Everything can be reached at ground level. There is a ramp for wheelchair users on the house itself as the toilet is of course in the house. The food was excellent, the four of us enjoyed it and the price was ok too.

We treated ourselves to the sausage salad and the Maultaschen here. The sausage salad was a fine thing, fresh Lyonnais, lots of mild onions, finely balanced marinade, chives on top - that's how it has to be. All I was missing was a dusting of sweet paprika powder. The Maultaschen were also very good, not too salty or meat-heavy as you often find them. Together with the delicious onion sauce, it's a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Be sure to try the dark beer from the Zötler brewery.

The look is quite nice although there is a construction site right next to it. As is well known, the prices can be argued; we had two apple juice spritzers and an iced coffee for over €15. The service was very, very unfriendly and couldn't answer normal questions properly. The worst thing, however, was that she also became really rude and insulting. Of course, all extra requests were completely rejected.

We have been guests on holiday several times for 3 years in a row and it is so wonderfully relaxed and calm in the beer garden. The service was quick and friendly, the food was completely ok in terms of price/performance ratio. Normal, honest, down-to-earth cuisine. My favorite Limoncello Spritz, the view is magnificent. We are already looking forward to next year and hope that the Gadthof will continue to operate like this for a long time to come. Thanks for the lovely hours!

Toller Gasthof mit leckerem Essen und einer super Aussicht. Das Essen war total lecker und wir hatten rein gar nix zu bemängeln. Wir hatten das Glück direkt an einem Tisch an den Panorama Fenstern zu sitzen. Eine tolle Aussicht auf die Oberstdorfer Berge. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder.

Wir haben nur etwas getrunken...

Uriges aber in die Jahre gekommenes Ambiente. Draußen unter den Bäumen kann man in der Hitze gut sitzen. Wir hatten uns Süßspeisen mit Kaffee bestellt. Hausgemacht? Ich tippe eher auf Convenience food - aber genießbar.

Der Gasthof Rubihorn ist ein sehr schön gelegener Gasthof mit Biergarten. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich. Die bestellten Gerichte wurden sehr schnell gebracht. Im Biergarten hat man einen grandiosen Blick auf den Berg Rubihorn, nach dem der Gasthof benannt ist. Der Schweinebraten mit Blaukraut und Knödel ist typisch bayrisch und genau wie ich ihn mir gewünscht hatte. 😋

Ich komme immer wieder gerne auf ein Bier oder ein Mittagessen um zu genießen und einfach zu sein und zu schauen!!

Tolle Gaststätte!!! Preis/Leistung ist sehr gut. Man sitzt schön im Biergarten sowohl auch drinnen wenn das Wetter mal nicht mitspielt. Wir kommen gerne wieder!!!

Unfassbar schöne Aussicht von der Terrasse. Sensationell guter Zwiebelrostbraten mit Spätzle (Knöpfle) auf den Punkt getroffen. Krosse leckere röstzwiebeln dazu. Die Kässpätzle waren ebenfalls geschmacklich hervorragend und der Service war auch super freundlich und zuvorkommend. Ich freue mich darauf falls ich mal wieder in der Gegend bin dort wieder essen zu gehen !

Der Ausblick spricht für sich. Quer durch den Allgäu, wunderschön. Man sitzt dort und merkt wie man "runterkommt". Wir hatten "die Ausgezogenen" sowie einen Wurstsalat. Beides war sehr lecker, vor allem die dunkle Biersoße bei den gebratenen Würstel. Alles was wir sonst an Speisen gesehen haben, was andere Gäste verzehrt haben, sah superlecker aus. Tolle Gastwirtschaft!!!

Super Lage, im Biergarten Blick auf die Allgäuer Bergwelt, wir saßen sehr gemütlich. Das Lokal war zum Mittag gut besucht. Die Bedienung war freundlich und korrekt. Die Speisekarte bietet große Auswahl. Sowohl Getränke, als auch das Essen kamen bewundernswert schnell. Der Schweinsbraten mit Kartoffelknödel und Blaukraut war ein Gedicht. Was will man mehr an einem schönen Sommertag, als Mittagspause? Volle fünf Sterne und sehr empfehlenswert!!!

Wir sind hier heute für eine Rast auf einer Wanderung eingekehrt. Was uns gut gefallen hat: * Sehr freundliche Bedienung * Auf Extrawünsche, in Form einer vegetarischen Speise ohne Kuhmilch wg. Allergie wurde sehr gut eingegangen. * Meinem Partner haben zudem die Käsespätzle gut geschmeckt. Negativ: * Der Salat war frisch und sehr bunt (rote Bete mit Zwiebel, total lecker), aber das meiste Grüne daran nicht gut gewaschen, zwischen den Zähnen hat's geknirscht. Einige Blätter hatten sichtbar Sand dran, die haben wir aussortiert und das angemerkt. Trotzdem wurde der Salat voll berechnet. * Mein vegetarisches Gericht war zudem sehr stark mit einem Paprika-Würzsalz "verfeinert". Kartoffeln und Ei schmeckte man kaum und der Geschmack blieb noch Stunden später auf der Zunge. Auf Nachfrage hieß es, dass die Würzung bei den Gästen sehr beliebt sei. Ist vielleicht Geschmackssache, also wenn man Pommesgewürz liebt, dann wird es einem ggf. zusagen. Ich jedoch hatte noch nie zuvor so versalzene Spiegeleier.
