The food was great and the service top

I booked the hotel for four days based on the online pictures and reviews. When I arrived, I was speechless. The property is a ruin. The interior of the room reminded me of a lost place, that the hotel had closed shortly after World War II. The room, with its very worn furniture and peeling wallpaper, was reminiscent of the 1960s. Only a somewhat modern flat-screen TV stood out. The towels have probably been in circulation for several decades. I'll probably be allowed to wash the unused clothes at home. The rooms smell accordingly. On the first day—the restaurant was closed Monday through Tuesday—I had to wait because everything was locked. Then the host asked me to sit down and more or less lectured me on how careful I should be, especially with the television, and gave me a form to fill out that would surely be appropriate for a museum. But when I wanted to pay for the room, I was told to sit at a table and wait. After watching for almost 20 minutes as the proprietor brought one meal after another to the tables and tapped and served drinks, I asked if I could pay the next morning at 7 a.m. He gruffly explained, visibly annoyed that I wouldn't wait until he had time. Then I had to tell him my name and address. Unfortunately, he hadn't transcribed the form either. Anyone under 70 and who value minimal comfort should avoid this hotel.

I've been here a few times over the last few years and always enjoy coming back. The food is really very good! I always feel warmly welcomed by Mr. Schwab and his family. Very friendly hosts. It may be that the rooms are getting old, but for me that's part of the charm of this establishment. I like it that way. Absolutely recommended!

Very good food and service Price performance is right

I like the old furniture... I slept well, it was quiet, and the host was very nice too! I'm happy for people who have no problems other than old furniture. The Wi-Fi worked, everything was clean, and there was no smell. Thank you, I'd love to come back!

We ate at Goldener Stern, it was so great. Price performance is excellent. The best thing after that, the local history is sometimes funny and interesting. We will definitely go there again to eat and definitely recommend it 😃

A very outdated hotel that needs to be renovated (wallpaper torn, disgusting rugs in the rooms, rusty fittings in the shower) but with friendly staff and relatively good food. However, establishing contact is very difficult according to today's standards. Next time I'll stay somewhere else.

I was a guest in the inn for 2 weeks, the owners were nice and accommodating without question. The rooms and the entire building were very old. It just smelled very unpleasant in the hallway on the 1st floor, OK, it's a 200 year old house but by the way. A bit of renovation or renovation would be good for the house. I can't say anything about the inn itself or the quality of the food.

We ate at the inn (without staying overnight), the food was absolutely fantastic! We had a small salad, very tasty, and the cheese spaetzle. The spaetzle was homemade and the dish was simply delicious 🤤 there was fresh fish at the neighboring table. It looked fantastic and smelled amazing. It was freshly disassembled at the table. The owners are super friendly and took a moment to chat with each guest. The atmosphere is rustic and traditional. We will be back definitely! On a bike tour I stopped at Goldener Stern and felt very comfortable there. A house that seems to have fallen out of time. But in the most positive sense. I hope the furniture and wallpaper can survive... I would have liked to take a look at the old cinema. The room is simple, without any frills, but with a good mattress, bedding without synthetics, a hairdryer that doesn't just blow. The food (I had trout) was a delight, the service was quick and attentive. The prices are moderate. In general, I was looked after in a friendly manner and I was allowed to hand over my soaked cycling clothes to dry. Before continuing my journey, I was given tips on how I could avoid the flood if necessary. Thank you very much for all of this!

Wir waren hier zum übernachten und essen. Die Zimmer waren sehr grosszügig und gemütlich. Das Essen sowie das Frühstück hervorragend, regional und frisch zubereitet. Der Wirt, Herr Schwab ist sehr gastfreundlich und hilfsbereit, erzählt viel über die Gegend sowie interessante Anekdoten. Wir haben uns hier sehr wohl gefühlt. Vielen Dank

Das Essen ist immer frisch gekocht, sehr lecker und bietet ein sehr gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis, dazu sehr gute örtliche Biere und Weine. Die Wirtsleute sind sehr freundlich und aufmerksam.

Der Wirt war äußerst hilfsbereit, als wir ein Problem mit einem Fahrrad hatten . Das Essen im Biergarten war hervorragend, ebenso das Frühstück.

Eine sehr gute Deutsche Küche mit einem schönen Gespräch mit dem Chef persönlich. Ich komme gerne hier her da es eine sehr leckere und familäre Wirtschaft ist und zu einem fähren preis.
