I was there today... I highly recommend it... the best beer in the world... the goulash... mm mm perfect... The owner and son speak Polish... very nice... I recommend it

A rustic, traditional, and authentic Thuringian atmosphere. Homemade dishes. Excellent value for money. One more server would provide more help and increase beverage sales. Unfortunately, contrary to the website and telephone information, (larger) dogs are not allowed in the restaurant.

Although the Maps listing states that dogs are allowed, they are not. They even called in advance and asked if dogs were okay. Nevertheless, we were turned back at the entrance with our dogs. Only small dogs would be allowed... Hence only 2 stars

Opening hours aren't up to date, which is a shame. Getting off the highway is free.

Unfortunately, I haven't been inside yet. I've been there five times during the advertised opening hours, but it's always been closed. When are you open?

If you're still looking for rustic and personalized service, this is the place for you. The food is served in a cozy atmosphere, top-quality, home-style cooking. It's great that something like this still exists. We felt very comfortable.

An extraordinary place! Super delicious food, with a daily menu. You can call ahead and inquire about the menu, or just drop in spontaneously. The kettle goulash was divine, the food was fair, and the beer was freshly tapped at a great price. Plus, there were good conversations with the friendly couple who run it. Highly recommended!

7 minutes from the motorway and you will find absolute peace. The older couple who run the place are very active. All dishes are freshly prepared in-house (my steak was freshly grilled) and that takes time. The result is all worth it. Highly recommended.

Very nice beer garden, friendly and courteous service.

Small pub with very good, cheap food. However, there is neither a map nor prizes. There are about 4 dishes you can choose from. We chose Rostbrätl or pollock with potato salad (10 euros each) and goulash with dumplings (15 euros). Everything tasted great and was homemade. The homemade ice cream for 1 euro a scoop is also super delicious. With a little love the ambience could be a little nicer, but if you're looking for delicious food at a reasonable price, this is the place for you.

We just wanted to sit down for a moment when a friendly lady came and explained to us that it was private property and only open from 4 p.m. However, there was no information about this.

The “cook” seems very hard-working and nice. There were three of us, one got the meal (the least expensive one) about 30 minutes before the rest of us and had already digested it when we started eating. Food itself was tasty, portion size was ok. There was no map, nor were there any prices... of course everything was on request but very unusual and unappealing. According to the staff, the grievances are due to a lack of staff...sad...could be good. But either way, the initial communication with the customer/us was missing! This must be communicated transparently and honestly from the start.

Simple and truly “like before”.

A very friendly couple dedicates attention and hospitality to the guest. We got seats in the landlord's former first class, the fire was burning in the fireplace, a salad buffet was set up, the atmosphere was wonderfully rustic and also had an old school desk. There is no menu, but very good German cuisine. The food is freshly prepared, so be patient. Oreise are totally moderate. Special requests are happy to be satisfied. We liked it, tasted it and filled our bellies. Gladly again!

Saw it by chance late in the evening while passing through, stopped, great! Eating like Grandma's, in the most positive sense! No fancy stuff, good, honest cuisine at fair prices and friendly people! Thanks

Arrived shortly before the inn closed and were still served with bratwurst and soft bread and also fries. Both dishes are a delight!

The pub in the village! The place for communication between residents and guests. Excellent service! Rarely have we eaten so well in a pub. Really two very nice hosts. They sat down at the table with us and chatted with us about old (GDR) times here in the former border area. We will be back definitely!

Leckeres Essen, sehr gutes 🍨. Gute Preise

Wir (9 Leipziger) sind mega begeistert. Unsere Erwartungen wurden übertroffen. Deftige rustikale und extrem schmackhafte Küche. Selbst unsere Vegetarier sind auf ihre Kost(en) gekommen. Können wir nur uneingeschränkt empfehlen

So stelle ich mir Gastlichkeit auf dem Lande vor. Das Essen ist hausgemacht und schmeckt fabelhaft. Es ist zu spüren, dass die Wirtsleute lieben was sie tun.

Ein mit Liebe zum Detail hergerichtet Gastwirtschaft. Sehr freundliches Personal kann man nur empfehlen.

Nun ja. Eine Dorfgaststätte halt. Einfach aber gut.

Das Eis war sehr lecker, mehr konnten wir noch nicht probieren. Das nächste Mal ist dann auch die Gulaschkanone dran - das sah schon mal sehr gut aus ;-)

Hier muss man angehalten haben, sollte man in der Nähe sein!!! Gastfreundlichkeit wird hier ganz groß geschrieben. Eine Karte gibt es nicht, sie wird am Tisch vorgetragen und ist mit 5 typischen Fleischgerichten zwar sehr fleischlastig, aber auf Anfrage kochen sie auch vegetarisch. Was aus meiner Sicht einen 6. Stern verdient hat. Super nettes Betreiberpaar!

Wunderbarer Gasthof mit super leckeren Essen, hausgemacht. Sehr freundliche Atmosphäre, schöner alter Einrichtung und nettem Personal. Wirklich sehr zu empfehlen, wenn man keine Lust auf Mainstream Autobahn Restaurant mit Fertigessen hat.

Man muss etwas Zeit mitbringen, dafür wird alles frisch zubereitet. Wir waren mit fünf Personen da und allen hat es geschmeckt. Einfache aber gute Küche.

Top Bedienung, sehr gut und günstig gegessen

Selbst unter Corona-Bedingungen sehr lockere und angenehme Atmosphäre. Man tut alles, um es für die Gäste möglichst angenehm zu gestalten. Ausgefallenes Angebot an Speisen. Zentrale Lage im Ort. Vor allem bei schönem Wetter einwandfrei.

Einfach super dort , seit langem mal wieder eine leckere Erbsensuppe gegessen . Das Eis ist auch total lecker . Alle sehr freundlich und sehr gemütlich dort , wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder .

Fast wie früher in der DDR aber ok...

Sehr einfach, rustikal, freundlich und lecker.

Hausmannskost auf Großmutter Art. Selten so gut gegessen. So lange es das noch gibt unbedingt hingehen.

Großer von Kastanie beschatter Hof mit Sitzgelegenheiten ist beschaulich, gemütlich und sehr familienfreundlich. Vollwertige und ebenfalls sehr gemütliche Gasträume mit Terasse. Angenehme Wirtsleute servieren die unglaubliche frische aromatische und ehrliche Bratwurst nebst vielen anderen Speisen. Wenn man wissen möchte was eine originale, grobe, nicht gebrühte frische Bratwurst ist, dann kehrt hier ein.
