The food here was excellent; I didn't miss anything. The service was very friendly, and the food was delicious. The chef even brought us a little something from the kitchen to start our meal, and we didn't have to wait long for our food. The ambiance was rustic and cozy, with soft, pleasant violin music playing in the background. Everything was also very clean. I can only recommend this restaurant to everyone.

We ate there today and what can I say, it was great, especially a big compliment to the kitchen.

Although there appears to have been a change of ownership, the quality remains consistently high—delicious food, friendly service, and a charmingly rustic ambiance, just as before. I'll be coming regularly now and look forward to the next time. Thank you, dear team, for the friendly service.

I'm absolutely thrilled with the restaurant :) When you walk in, it's a bit smaller, but nice. Our server was very friendly. We really enjoyed the welcome from the kitchen! The hand cheese was really good, as was the green sauce 😋 We'll be happy to come back next time we're in Offenbach.

We honestly don't understand where some of the negative reviews come from. We were at the Gasthaus zum Stern with our family and had a thoroughly enjoyable evening. The food was fresh, delicious, and prepared with love – exactly what you'd expect from a traditional inn. The atmosphere was pleasant, and the staff friendly and attentive. You can tell that a lot is changing at the restaurant right now – a breath of fresh air is blowing, and in the best possible way! New ideas like the breakfast offerings or the culinary theme evenings (e.g., trips to India) demonstrate that the team is working with passion and creativity. Of course, every change takes some time, but you can clearly feel that the team is committed to offering every guest a pleasant stay. We would definitely love to come back and are already looking forward to the new dishes on the menu. A big thank you to the entire team for a wonderful evening!

We went out for dinner on Friday for the fourth time despite the few bad reviews, wanted to try rather than give it a chance, we were very disappointed, starting with the service 🙁 to the food 👎 (fresh is a foreign word) strange atmosphere, a shame about the money, never again

We ate Argentine beef. A very tender cut that I'd unfortunately never tried in my country, as the best meat is exported. In any case, the service, atmosphere, and attention were excellent. We tried a lemony beer that was wonderful.

What a shame! It's a shame that this special restaurant has lost its unique selling point: With the change of ownership, the menu (and unfortunately, the quality) has been brought into line with the mainstream. We gave the restaurant two chances and say: Good luck... We don't recommend it.

The quality of the food and service justifies the price. - Conclusion Recommended for anyone seeking down-to-earth German cuisine in a sophisticated atmosphere. I had the Farmer's style Schnitzel (Hockelheimer) and it was great, however my friend got the jager schnitzel and that was even better! The mushroom sauce was the best. At the time it wasn't crowded so we had great outside seat with beautiful weather and the service was great.

We went to our favorite restaurant yesterday, or at least it has been for what feels like the last 10 years. Apparently, the owner has changed, and the old "boss" is no longer there. The service left a lot to be desired; the waitresses weren't paying attention, and the atmosphere in the restaurant was very strange. The menu was completely changed, which meant that even the waitresses couldn't really cope. At the next table of four people, half of the dishes were served with the wrong side of the side dishes, and the quality of our food, with the exception of a salad with goat cheese, was the worst we've ever experienced. It's a real shame that a really good restaurant has gone downhill so quickly. We're very sad about it. We usually give every restaurant one or two more chances, but here we're so stunned that we can't imagine it happening again. We spent €80.00 and have rarely been so dissatisfied.

We came on the recommendation of friends. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. The quality of the food was definitely very good and also very tasty. However, the restaurant owner did something that was completely unacceptable. Unfortunately, my ordered dish arrived incorrectly, and he literally said to me: "It's okay. You eat it too!" Otherwise, it would take too long. If you're going to serve the wrong food, you should also let the guest choose the right one. We'll be back another day despite the faux pas. Feel free to try it. The food was very tasty.

Wir haben eine sehr unangenehme Erfahrung in diesem Restaurant gemacht. Die Kellnerin hat sich darüber beschwert, dass wir nur eine Vorspeise für zehn Euro genommen haben. Anstatt sich um das Wohl der Gäste zu kümmern, wurde ich das Gefühl nicht los, dass es nur darum ging, mehr Umsatz zu machen. Sehr enttäuschend ! Wir werden nicht wiederkommen !

We thought we'd give it a try since the reviews were good. My wife's meal was okay (schnitzel), but mine was inedible (Swabian swirl), completely overseasoned. The ambiance is small, and it's definitely nicer sitting outside in the summer. Another negative is when the chef comes to the table and all you can see is a tooth in his mouth.

First of all, I would like to praise the absolutely warm, personal, really attentive service from both the lady and the gentleman. That was an absolute blessing and my dad, who lives with dementia, was particularly happy about every smile and every kind word. I was also given the greatest possible attention, having just been injured in an accident. The food, including the wonderful fried potatoes, was fantastic and is unrivaled in the gastronomic landscape. The quality of the meat and the preparation were flawless, even fantastic. Greetings and thanks to the many schnitzel guests. And the goose fat was delicious too

After so many great reviews, I just wanted to visit this promising store. Lunch time and mediocre attendance. The landlord was friendly, not particularly communicative. Rump steak ordered medium with herb butter, fried potatoes, fried onions and salad garnish. (I thought I had read) The meat, cooking point and herb butter were excellent. Unfortunately, the fried potatoes were very pale and the cold, pre-fried fried onions from the day before were unfortunately pointless. Too bad.

The first taste of home after being away for 30 years. Absolutely, perfect. Food, service, prices, quiet atmosphere. Wunderbar!!

We were here for the first time in November 2024 and were attracted by the very good reviews. We can join this, a small, fine restaurant with very tasty dishes, a varied selection of dishes at a fair price-performance ratio. And then there was the friendly and down-to-earth service; we felt very comfortable.

Passionate restaurateur, with good-humoured service and advice on selection. Being a guest is fun and the quality of the food is top. The only drawback is that the prices on the website and menu are not up to date 😞 Small restaurant with a great selection, game and poultry and we recommend an apricot brandy at the end. We will definitely come back with a pre-order for the goose 😀

Regional cuisine, with high quality. Plus fair prices and very nice hospitality. The only thing is that the space is a bit too small, which has an impact on the length of stay, as your own table can only be used for a certain amount of time before the next guests arrive. We were very satisfied and would like to come back.

I just wanted to order a meal to pick up over the phone. Apparently this is no longer possible today. Opening times today: 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. So far okay, and no problem either. Where does the problem begin? Here: An extremely unfriendly service person on the phone who apparently shouted and cursed into the phone on site to explain to me that no more food could be prepared for collection today. A normal cancellation would have been fine. But here I was shouted at and cursed at, so I no longer felt like eating anything. The good, old-fashioned cheese bread did exactly that. The last time I ate there will be the last time forever.

We had dinner here with the family. Everyone enjoyed it. Price/performance are top.

Had a Wiener Schnitzel, very low quality

On a cloudy Wednesday evening we ended up in the “Zum Stern” inn, which looks very inconspicuous from the outside. Greeted by the friendly waitress, we were shown to an outside seat that was in no way inferior to the familiar atmosphere of the interior. Armed with an extremely tasty Allgäu Büble beer, the Weizenmaul was seduced by the chef's culinary arts. The schnitzel from Offenbach free-range pig and the potatoes from the Vogelsberg region were a real taste explosion. See you next visit!

I love this inn!! <3 I have been a guest many times and have never been disappointed, as the dishes are always of a high standard and use regional ingredients! Also worth highlighting are the friendly innkeeper/waiters, as well as the daily menu. In addition, there is always a greeting from the kitchen, which always tastes great. Ein Ort, bei dem ich unvermittelt an die Apfelwirtschaften Frankfurts denken muss. Knarziges Holz, alte Einrichtung - liebevoll und charmant eingerichtet. Umrahmt von einem Gastwirt, welcher einfach eine richtige Type darstellt. Zuletzt das Essen - sehr lecker...

Sehr gutes Essen. "Alles hausgemacht", wurde gesagt und tatsächlich, die Bandnudeln waren eigene Herstellung. Das konnte man gleich sehen - ab gesehen davon waren sie sehr lecker, wie alles übrige auch. Die Portionen waren wirklich reichlich und sehr nett angerichtet. Der absolute Hammer war das Nougatparfait auf Himbeerspiegel. Eine Sünde, aber zum reinlegen

We wanted hearty German food for dinner and found this restaurant on the market square in Offenbach. We enjoyed our schnitzel dinners at the tables on the sidewalk under large umbrella covers. The meals are large and the service is friendly and helpful. It was a good evening out.

Sehr gemütliches kleines Lokal, Essen prima und reichlich. Service (Chefin?) sehr freundlich und souverän.

Ein kleines, feines Restaurant am Wilhelmsplatz in Offenbach. Neben den anderen Restaurants vor Ort sticht dieses meines Erachtens aufgrund seiner regionalen Zulieferer heraus. Das Wildgulasch mit Preiselbeeren und Rahmpilzsoße war sehr lecker, das Fleisch zart und so, Wild sein sollte, nicht streng im Geschmack. Die Bedienung war aufmerksam, freundlich und schnell. Es war allerdings auch nicht sonderlich voll. Wenn das Wetter nicht so gut ist und der Außenbereich nicht genutzt werden kann, ist es drin schnell voll. Ein Besuch lohnt sich definitiv.

Wir waren mit Freunden am letzten Sonntag Mittags essen sehr lecker 😋 und frisch zubereitet ob die Bratkartoffeln oder das schnitzel die sosse wird separat dazu gereicht sehr nette Bedienung und gemütliche Atmosphäre kann man nur weiter empfehlen ob bei laktoseintoleranz es gibt immer was leckeres zu essen wir gehen auf jedenfall wieder hin .

Absolute Empfehlung, der Koch weiß was er tut. Und er nimmt seine Gäste ernst. Ich hatte zur Leberknödelsuppe, die ansonsten sehr gut war, angemerkt dass die Brühe erwas salzig sei. Drei Minuten später steht der Koch bei uns am Tisch, bittet um Entschuldigung, und sagt mir dass ich recht habe. Die Brühe sei am Vortag abgeschmeckt worden und habe in der Zwischenzeit an Intensität gewonnen. Alle anderen Teller waren perfekt und für die Fehlerkultur gebe ich einen sechsten Stern.

Super freundliches Personal (mit dem typischen Altwelt-Charme, der dem etwas älteren Publikum des Restaurants angemessen ist), gut bürgerliche Küche. Alles ein wenig über dem Niveau der anderen Restaurants am Platze (und es sind deren mindestens 8). Leider fand ich in meinem ansonsten sehr leckeren Wildgulasch mit Semmelknödeln und frischen Pilzen (€23,80, nicht so sehr günstig) einen größeren Knochen! Da hätte ich wenigstens eine Entschuldigung oder einen Abzug auf der Rechnung erwartet, deshalb ein Stern Abzug. Ansonsten alles tip-top.

Super leckeres Essen, sehr nette Bedienung und top Service. Die Schnitzel sind der Hammer und auch die Grüne Soße ist perfekt. Beim Jägerschnitzel waren sogar frische Pfifferlinge dabei, das hat man mittlerweile in keinem Restaurant mehr. Können das Restaurant wirklich mit gutem Gewissen weiterempfehlen.

Schönes Lokal am Wilhelmsplatz in Offenbach. Bei gutem Wetter perfekt zum draußen sitzen und das Wetter genießen. Die Karte ist abwechslungsreich und bietet mit einer Wochenkarte zusätzliche Gerichte an. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Mit diesen 2 Worten ist das Gasthaus am Wilhelmsplatz perfekt beschrieben.Der Wirt, Stefan Klemisch, ist Anhänger der Slow Food Küchenphilosphie und setzt sie in seinem urigen Gasthaus am Marktplatz von Offenbach konsequent um. Auf einer großen Tafel erklärt er seinen Gästen von welchen regionalen Erzeugern die Qualitätsprodukte stammen, die in seiner Küche frisch und aromatisch zubereitet werden. Damit unterscheidet sich das Gasthaus zum Stern von den zahlreichen Restaurants rund um den Wochenmarkt am Wilhelmsplatz. Der aus München stammende Wirt ist ein leidenschaftlicher Vertreter guter unverfälschter Regionalküche, die er glaubhaft und selbstbewußt präsentiert - ein echter freundlicher Typ. Zum Bembel Apfelwein wurde uns als Amuse Geule ein würziges Lachstatar serviert. Die hausgemachte Thai-Kokossuppe und der milde junge Handkäs' mit Mango und bunten Tomaten waren überraschend aromatisch und kreativ zubereitete Vorspeisen. Das Oberräder Schnitzel (wahlweise vom Schwein oder Kalb) mit hausgemachter grüner Soße hatte eine üppige Portionsgröße. Die Variante vom Schwein war wunderbar zart und saftig - wir haben schon lange nicht mehr so gutes Schweinefleisch gegessen. Auch der Odenwälder Schweinebraten mit Dunkelbiersoße überzeugte durch Fleischqualität und Geschmack - ebenso wie die marktfrische Gemüsebeilage, deren Bezeichnung wohl hier 100%ig zutrifft. Für uns war der Abstecher von Frankfurt nach Offenbach ein kulinarischer Volltreffer. Zumal hat sich die alte Erfahrung, daß eine Slow Food-Empfehlung sich für uns immer als goldrichtig erweist, erneut bestätigt. Um eine lange kulinarische Erfahrung kurz zu machen: echt.gut.

Das in meinen Augen beste Restaurant in der weiteren Umgebung für klassische deutsche Küche. Das Essen ist in aller Regel nicht „nur“ sehr gut, sondern hervorragend. Ansonsten: netter, aufmerksamer und kompetenter Service, gute Weinkarte.

Kleines deutsches Speiselokal mit wechselnder Karte. Speise- und Getränkeangebot sind sehr ansprechend und auf gehobenen Standard.

Feines Ambiente am besten Ort - und kulinarisch äußerst empfehlenswert.

Das Essen war frisch und lecker. Besonders gut fand ich, dass das Jaegerschnitzel zwar mit Pilzen kam, die eigentliche Sosse aber separat serviert wurde. Damit konnte sich jeder soviel oder wenig nehmen, wie er wollte. Auch das Rumpsteak war zart und wie gewünscht gebraten.

Waren zum ersten Mal im Gasthaus Stern. Wirklich empfehlenswert! Ehrliches deutsches Essen. Die Weinkarte ist eine Wucht! Das wird jetzt unser Stammlokal. Morgen geht’s wieder hin! Diesmal trinken wir den Weißburgunder von Pfirmann, der Grauburgunder war scho eine Offenbarung!
