Gasthaus “Zum Altschütz” in Vaterstetten

Were here for dinner. Had, schnitzel, roast pork, cordon bleu, chicken in pumpkin. Everything was delicious. Small cozy room inside. Unfortunately it is a bit loud when it is full. Highly recommended. When the weather is good you can also sit outside very nicely.

Well, small portions were quite expensive for the price... It's actually okay, but it can definitely be better...

I'm actually not much of a review writer, but I just have to add my two cents here 🤪. We were at Altschütz for the first time on Sunday, by chance, and all three of us were really excited. 🥳 Whether soup, schnitzel, cordon bleu or Swabian plate... everything is great 😋🥰. The service was super friendly and quick. ☺️ The atmosphere is cozy and you immediately feel welcome 😍. We'll definitely be back and SOON!🤗😜 Keep it up, you're GREAT!😘 We are very happy to have discovered you “by chance and spontaneously”. 🤗🥳

A very nice restaurant, suitable for families. Because a little bit of the shot. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Food is very good and sufficient. You get it all at the same time.

A nice little beer garden and friendly staff. However, the food is made from the cheapest ingredients and therefore, far too expensive! I regret the money, because I can do much better at home!

Because of the many positive reviews, we have now tried out the old contactor. The salad with goat cheese was very good, but unfortunately the grains were forgotten even though they were on the menu. My partner ordered the roast pork with extra sauce and 2 potato dumplings. Unfortunately it arrived with 1 potato dumpling and 1 bread dumpling and only a dollop of sauce. The taste was still good though. During our stay we had the feeling that some guests were treated preferentially here. So a young waiter “served” us who unfortunately paid little attention to whether we wanted something to drink. Instead, he spent most of his time sitting at the back of the regulars' table and chatting with the other guests.

I was very disappointed! The spare ribs were completely dried out and looked old, and the barbecue sauce that was carelessly spread over them didn't save that. The summer burger tastes bland and gives the impression of a composition of “we still have something left that has to go”. The apricot dumpling was frozen. Overall, everything was very tasteless and carelessly warmed up in the convector but not freshly cooked. In terms of price-performance ratio, well 👎 the service was super friendly and very attentive and the beer garden would be really nice to linger. However, we will refrain from doing so until further notice

Perfect service. Even a large group was served promptly and deliciously despite the fact that the restaurant was completely full. Good price/performance ratio. Highly recommended

Nice beer garden. Unfortunately, as is always described here, the food wasn't nearly as good. Maybe today was just an exception (we were there for the first time today because of the positive reviews), but when we ordered the Wirtshausschnitzel, the potato salad was super salty and the schnitzel didn't taste like anything. The spare ribs had almost no meat on the ribs (but the BBQ sauce was very good). But the worst thing was the dessert (apricot dumplings with chocolate cake and vanilla sauce). Less than 5 minutes after ordering, the dessert arrived. The custard was anything but custard. It was lumpy and tasted stale and in no way did it taste like vanilla, but more like egg. Unfortunately, that ruined the whole dessert. Unfortunately, the good service lady apparently wasn't in the mood to respond to customer requests or orders today. My husband ordered two mayo with his schnitzel because he doesn't like ketchup, and it came with a ketchup and a mayo. After I ordered again, only ketchup and mayo came again. I thought that this could happen. After all, the good one was also responsible for the entire beer garden, which was about a quarter full at the time. But after she looked at us several times and I raised my hand because she was hardly in our corner and we wanted to order something, she skillfully overlooked my raised hand and even rolled her eyes. I then sent my son to the lady to place the order directly with her. Last but not least, I asked her for the bill and after paying, she just said “bye” in a very unfriendly manner. I'll definitely think three times about whether I'll go again. Maybe there will be another chance at some point in the future, but for now I've collected enough impressions. Pity for my money.

This is our most visited Bavarian restaurant since we live nearby. We have always had a 10/10 experience. All the waiters and waitresses are super attentive. Our favorite dishes are the classic roast pork, spare ribs and baked potatoes with salmon.

Salmon imaginative and delicious. Baby spareribs are really a hit. 05-2024 We reworked the inside of the restaurant, finally the dead antlers etc. flew out. Now it's uniform and chic - very 👍🏻

You hardly think it's possible, but you can actually modernize Bavarian cosiness. Without it becoming a bricklayer's canteen. And in Altschütz they did it tastefully. The food tasted good, the price-performance level was more than okay - which, dear hosts, doesn't mean that you have to raise it.

Nice restaurant and very nice and attentive waiter. Unfortunately the food wasn't really good. We were a larger group and had a lot of different things but no one was really happy. Very unfortunate

Were here as part of a shooting event. The waiter was polite and attentive. There were 2 snack boards with the meal. They were very nicely presented and everything tasted very good. There were enough parking spaces.

We always enjoy coming back to “Zum Altschütz”. For us the best Bavarian food and great service!

Gasthaus mit "gut bürgerlichem" Ambiente. Sehr nettes Bedienung und gutes Essen. Sehr übersichtliche Speisekarte, die vermuten lässt, dass frisch gekocht wird. Uns hat es gut geschmeckt. PS: Toiletten sehr sauber

Einfach nur bombig. Zu meiner Schande muss ich gestehen, dass meine Frau und ich vergangenen Samstag zum ersten Mal im Altschütz waren, obwohl wir schon seit ein paar Jahren in der Nähe wohnen. Hätten wir gewusst wie bärig es dort ist, wären wir mit Sicherheit schon des Öfteren dort gewesen. Das Ambiente und der Service sind wirklich super und das Essen der absolute Wahnsinn. Kompliment für die mega schmackhafte Ochsenbrust, auch meine Frau war begeistert von ihren Teigtaschen. Alles in allem ein wunderbarer Besuch, gerne wieder!!!

Beste Spareribs ever. Sehr nette Bedienung und der Schankkellner sehr fix. Allgemein ist die Küche top . Gerne kommen wir wieder.

Wir waren in München auf Montage uns in einem Hotel ganz in der Nähe. Leider öffnete dieses spitzen Restaurant erst kurz vor unserer Abreise, so konnten wir hier leider nur zwei Mal die kulinarischen Köstlichkeiten der Region genießen. Das Essen hier ist absolut TOP, da merkt man das die Küche mit Leidenschaft geführt wird!!! ❤️🫶👌 Der Service ist sehr aufmerksam und freundlich und achtet sehr gut auf seine Gäste!! 😍 Vielen Dank für die tolle Bewirtung!!!

War schon oft hier. Immer gut. Sehr gutes Essen, freundliche Kellner*innen. Manchmal etwas verspätet aber outdoor einfach schön. Nur zu empfehlen.

Unser liebstes Stammlokal!! Immer hervorragendes Essen und super netter Service. Kinderfreundlich, aufmerksam und man muss nie lange aufs Essen warten. Wir und unsere 3 Kinder fühlen sich hier sehr wohl!!

Spontan nach einem Tag am See hier eingekehrt, tolles Essen, super Service, faire Preise, was will man mehr 😊 wir kommen wieder!

In der vergangenen Woche haben wir das Gasthaus "Zum Altschütz" besucht (Biergarten). Dies war mein erstmaliger Besuch seit ca. 5 Jahren (afaik noch anderer Eigentümer/Koch). Das Essen war sehr gut, die Spareribs (früher immer ein Highlight) waren genau richtig zubereitet. Portionsgrößen genau angemessen (nicht zu klein, nicht verschwenderisch groß). Preislich durchschnittlich. Hervorzuheben auch das Tiramisu zum Nachtisch (ordentliche Portion und die Haselnuss Note ist Bombe!). Insgesamt waren wir sehr zufrieden - kommen wieder. Definitiv nicht erst wieder in 5 Jahren. ;-)

Seit 2020 mit neuem Eigentümer/Koch. Jetzt statt Südtiroler- eher Allgäuer Küche. Freundlicher Service. Man sitzt sehr schön draußen auf der Terrasse.
