Gasthaus Zollhäusl in Freilassing

We had a wonderful meal there this evening on a whim. The service was extremely friendly and attentive. It's a shame we were just passing through and live so far away; we'd love to come back more often!

We were there on Sunday and got a table outside. It was really busy, but we had such a lovely waitress (who's been there for 24 years). She took the time to chat for a bit and was very friendly, and the food was very good.

Great atmosphere, very cozy, the wrong side dish with the meal even though it was specifically pointed out...the side salad only arrived when we were almost finished...the restaurant wasn't crowded that day, the Wiener Schnitzel was very pale and not at all crispy but I have to say I'm Austrian and here we usually have schnitzel fried in butter and lard in a pan...so I'm used to much better...great for a cozy meeting for a drink, you can save yourself the trouble of eating...

Great beer garden with good food and good service!

We visited this very cozy beer garden on the outskirts of Freilassing last week. Very friendly service, delicious beer, and good food (we had the Bavarian schnitzel filled with Obazda cheese and the Fleischpfanzerl (meat pancakes) with potato salad) – world-class. We'll definitely be back tomorrow to round off our bike tour.

The food was once again delicious. Unfortunately, the service was very poor. At 10:30 p.m., we were asked to pay. At 10:45 p.m., the lights in the garden were turned off, and the service staff went home. The restaurant is open until 11 p.m., however. We won't be back anytime soon.

The beer here is the best. Their Coke is Africola. Wished for a real coke

Very friendly atmosphere and staff 🥰 Went there with the company. The food definitely got a 15/10. 🍹 It wasn't too much, and not too little. Just just right. Which made it great, as I still had room for dessert 💜

Clarify recommendation Great food. Extensive and varied menu. Reasonable prices. Portions are adequate and plentiful. Nice beer garden and generally pleasant atmosphere. Kid-friendly, super-quick service for the little ones. The only downside is the restrooms, which are quirkily decorated with old photos, but they need some work #retro. I'll be back

A very nice restaurant with beautiful indoor and outdoor areas. The vegetarian dishes, as well as our dessert, were delicious. There was a nice beer selection, and the service staff was very friendly and attentive. A visit to the Zollhäusl is definitely recommended.

Nice oasis not far from the city, especially recommended for cyclists.

There were 5 people. Two Cor Dons were okay, the veal schnitzel was great, and two roast beef with onions was a complete failure. When we ordered, they didn't even ask how it was cooked, and we asked for it medium-rare. We got a thin slice of shoe sole. I don't think the portion size or quality justify the price. The server was friendly but not a professional, so it's questionable how the high prices are justified. We were disappointed, because Zollhäusl used to be great...

We spontaneously stopped by with a larger group after a business meeting. Even though we didn't have a reservation, they found us a seat right away. Everyone enjoyed the food. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The only thing I noticed that was a bit unpleasant was that tips can only be paid in cash; perhaps the owner/operator should reconsider this policy.

We've been coming here for a very, very long time We love the restaurant and the really lovely staff, the owners of the restaurant are also lovely people :) When we asked today if they could conjure up something for our 1 year old son, it was no problem at all and something great was prepared for the little one And we all always really enjoy it here 🥰 the ambience is also great and the employees are always beautifully dressed in dirndl looks 🥰 really chic and really nice Bavarian style as well as the cuisine ♥️ thanks for everything and we always enjoy coming here Family Georg

Good solid food and drink with nice seating both inside and out, in a quiet location (apart from the occasional airliner... It's under the flight path of Salzburg airport, but this didn't really bother us). Popular destination for cyclists, being on the Saalach river cycle route. Worth reserving on busy days, but it's big, so spontaneous visits shouldn't be a problem.

At a funeral service with 90 people, you have to give great praise to the boss and the entire staff.

Yesterday we celebrated our civil wedding in the inn. The staff and the food are particularly positive. From reservation to planning, it's totally uncomplicated. We felt safe and comfortable all day. We'll definitely be coming back for dinner very soon. I can recommend it with a clear conscience.

We have been to Zollhäusl twice within two days and were thrilled both times! Great ambience, great service (super child-friendly) and delicious food. Also absolutely great in terms of price. From the starter to the main course and dessert, we were not disappointed once. When we are in the area again, a visit to the Zollhäusl is already planned!!!

Very friendly staff, waiting time manageable despite the full guest garden, dishes were fantastic! The aircraft noise is easy to complain about if you sit in the guest garden. Of course the inn can't do anything about that. Will definitely come back!

I came here with friends who were visiting Salzburg and we wanted some traditional Bavarian food. We found this restaurant who kindly took us without reservation at 2 o clock. We were blown out of our minds!! Food was absolutely delicious, rich, portions are big, beer from local brewery and service to die for. We didn't talk at all while we were eating. Desserts are also amazing and big. We were stuffed and happy and they are not expensive at all. Happy to recommend them, and we will be back.

The food is very good but a bit expensive. The service staff is friendly. The outdoor patio is also nice. NOTE: Not recommended for dogs, as the owner isn't exactly dog-friendly. We quickly left the restaurant because of our puppy's petty barking. I certainly won't be going back. It's a shame, actually; we've been there several times.

We have been regular customers at Zollhäusl for several years. Not without reason. The ambience is excellent. The food, no matter what we ordered, was an absolute delight. A big compliment to the kitchen. The service is a dream. All the employees here work non-stop and give their all. It's really rare to experience this kind of service these days. You don't have to wait long to place your order here. Even if a glass is almost empty, you are immediately asked if you can have something more. A dream. This is how you imagine service. Hats off. The business people and employees really give their all here and are passionate about it. They know their craft. If we want good food with top service, we come to Zollhäusl. Keep it up......

After my wife and I have eaten at Zollhäusl several times and have always been very satisfied, here's the review of today's dinner. After entering the restaurant we chose a small table for the two of us. The young waiter came to the table very quickly and took the drinks order, which was served quickly. My wife chose schnitzel with boiled potatoes, which was a good portion and also tasted very good. I, on the other hand, chose “Scharfe Henn”. According to the menu, spicy chicken breast sandwiched in white bread with lettuce and onions. However, what was served was a larger, oblong roll with a breaded chicken schnitzel in strips. On top of that some indefinable sauce, a mountain of mixed salad. Simply a chicken schnitzel roll with salad. And the whole thing for €17.90. After I had finished eating, the young waiter took the plate away and asked if I liked it, I told him that the whole thing tasted a bit weak. He just replied that if I had said something, they would have put a little bit of hot sauce on it. After that, the young waiter often walked past my empty glass standing on the table without even asking if I would like something more to drink. The empty glass sat unnoticed on the table for about 30 minutes. Then we paid and we were done. So I'm used to something different from the Zollhäusl.

One service person served us as a group of 40 people and did an excellent job! As a group we got the normal menu and the food, even though the customs house was very busy with other guests, we got the food quickly. Spinach dumplings were okay, roast pork was very good with tender meat! The Buchtel in vanilla sauce is a dream. Quaint inn with great service and good food.

For years we have been going to the Zollhäusl whenever we are in Freilassing. And we always look forward to it because we have never been disappointed. Quite the opposite. It always tasted good, the beers are tasty and the service is always quick and friendly. We'd love to come back

This review refers to the deer goulash For 21.90 I think you could expect more than 3 pieces of meat. Especially when you consider that goulash not only consists of 2 to 4 pieces but is expected to be different, especially with spaetzle. So to everyone. I advise against it due to price/performance ratio

I have had lunch and dinner here at least 3 times during our holiday visits. Great food and service. We have reservations for the 25th for the entire family. On the 25th we had a wonderful lunch. Steak and goose prepared beautifully. Pork roast and soup delicious. They were fully booked.

Visited again for a long time. Onion roast was good. Roast pork a little dry and totally over-seasoned with pepper. Dumplings and sauce good. Coleslaw good but ice cold. Proud prices. Maybe again at some point.

You can leave it out and not miss anything. Despite reserving a table for 7 p.m., when ordering, it was first explained what was no longer available on the menu. That was 30% of the map. About 45 minutes after ordering, they explained again that they were sorry that the food they ordered was no longer available. And by then we had already waited 45 minutes for a soup!!! There was a piece of paper for the kids to color in. Waiters ran for their lives. But not at our table. We then paid for our drinks and walked about 8 minutes further to the Wieninger Bräu Freilassing restaurant. Drinks and excellent food were still available!!! full house and stress for the employees!!! within 30 minutes including coloring books for the kids and friendly service. I think the Zollhäusl has already seen its best days. Keyword: mass tourism!!! And I'd rather not write anything about the prices for this cheeky manner and quality of service.

We waited a very long time for our ordered food. Some guests who came after us were already able to satisfy their hunger. My daughter had a fried soup for 4.90. The fries could be counted individually. My son had a veal schnitzel for 23.90, which corresponded to a children's menu. My children were almost finished eating when my salmon fillet arrived. I was shocked at the sight of the court. It was so poorly presented, the fish was well-done with a slice of lemon on top and herb butter. In addition, four boiled potatoes and a salad, which could no longer be defined as fresh, and all for a proud price of 23.90. We always enjoyed going to the Zollhäusl. Just because of the very friendly service. But that was it for now :-(.

I'm writing my first review here on Google especially because of you. In my opinion, it's an absolute disgrace to charge 18€ for goulash that felt like it had 200ml of liquid in it, 4 PIECES OF MEAT 🤡 and now hold on to yourselves ONE whole damn potato + 1 cucumber 🤣 18 euros for a portion that my 5 year old son could have done it quite easily. NEVER EVER AGAIN this is fraud in my opinion!

A classic Bavarian pub within walking distance of the Austrian border. Nice service, great food and beer. Selection of dishes from the menu. During the tour, the meat-free option was made without any problems with the uniform menu.

We have been to Zollhäusl several times, and for the most part we were satisfied. Unfortunately I can't say that today. Of the 5 dishes, 3 dishes were good and tasty. The two rump steaks – ordered medium rare – were largely cooked through and tough. The service took both rump steaks back without any problems and brought them over new steaks. Although not well done this time, the meat was tough and flaxy. Some of the steaks went back. It's a shame, at €27.90 you should also get good rump steak You can expect meat quality.

In my opinion, the current condition of the parking lot, with the many and very deep potholes, is almost negligent, as it is not always possible to avoid them.
