Food was absolutely good, but service? I was sent away at lunchtime, which was fine because it was quiet at lunchtime. I was supposed to come back at 5 p.m. I waited 3.5 hours, and then I was sent away because I didn't have a reservation. Sorry, but that's a way to scare away guests! It's probably not necessary.

The beer garden looks good. The waitress told us everything was reserved, even though there were free seats and they weren't marked as reserved. Therefore, I can't recommend it as a good place.

Excellent food in a family atmosphere! Nine of us dined at Gasthaus Schlappn – and everyone loved it! I had the roast beef with onions and fries and salad: excellent quality, perfectly prepared, and a real highlight in terms of taste. Despite the large group, all dishes arrived almost simultaneously – which shows how well-organized the staff is. The service was friendly, attentive, and very professional, while the atmosphere remained warm and welcoming throughout. The value for money here is truly unbeatable – you rarely get such good food at such fair prices. Highly recommended, I'll definitely be back!

We were there with a larger group, and it seemed to be very busy. The crew had everything under control and was in such a good mood that there was no sign of stress. A huge compliment for that. The food was very good and the prices were more than reasonable. At the end, we were treated to a nightcap on the house, which isn't so common everywhere these days. We were all very satisfied, and the next time we're in the area, this will be our first choice for food.

Super friendly service, always smiling and up for a joke. The food was, as always, incredibly delicious, and the beer garden is beautifully designed. We had to wait a bit, but it wasn't a big deal; I think it was much worse for the service than for us. We did get a free schnapps/espresso, but even without it, we felt really comfortable, and as long as the service is nice and friendly, I don't mind a bit of a wait (and it really wasn't that long; a completely normal wait when the place is busy). We'd definitely come back, thanks for a great evening!

A beautiful beer garden in the heart of the city. A very quiet location with shady seating. The Wiener Schnitzel is excellent. The herb-flavored potato salad goes perfectly with it. Unfortunately, I had to wait an unusually long time for my food. However, the waiter warned me that this would happen. Good service.

A small restaurant in the heart of Gerolzhofen. We've been there a few times with our group; we recommend making a reservation in advance, as it's always quite busy. I also recommend that they're very knowledgeable about gluten-free options. They serve cordon bleu with fries or "Schlappen" (small pancakes), as well as other delicious dishes that are gluten-free. Excellent. I can recommend it without reservation.

Wir hatten einen ruhigen Tisch zum Hochzeitstag reserviert. Als wir ankamen hätten wir einen Tisch direkt am Durchgang zum Garten bekommen wo auf der anderen Seite des Tisches der Eingang zu den Toiletten ist. Uns wurde als Alternative das ransetzen an einem anderen Tisch angeboten...Wenn das der Service ist, so ist das einfach nur Mangelhaft. Sind dann in ein anderes sehr gutes Restaurant gegangen.

On a day when the restaurant is full, you unfortunately have to wait an extremely long time for your food, which also arrives very staggered. Although everything was full and the waitresses were extremely demanding, one of the ladies immediately tried to accommodate us in the absolutely beautiful garden decorated in a Mediterranean style (lots of rich lemon trees)! Anyone who ends up in Gerolzhofen should not miss the very good food in this restaurant! Price and performance are top! The service, fast and very friendly even at peak times!

Hier kann man noch wirklich gut fränkisch Essen. Wir waren mit Freunden hier. Es hatte jeder etwas anderes bestellt: Zunge mit Nudeln, Schnitzel mit Pommes. Spargel mit Schinken, Lendchenpfanne, Försterschnitzel, Leberknödelsuppe. Alle Gericht frisch und lecker zubereitet, der Salat wurde als Vorspeise serviert und war lecker abgeschmeckt. Die jungen Bedienungen waren sehr nett und flott. Das Gasthaus war „rappelvoll“ und wir waren froh, dass wir reserviert hatten. Ansonsten hätten wir keine Chance gehabt. Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis gut. Der Biergarten mit den tollen Zitrusbäumen auch sehr schön. Parkplatzsituation am Wochenende schwierig.

Always worth a visit. They serve delicious home-cooked food at fair prices. The staff was always friendly, and everything in the restaurant was clean. The highlight, in my opinion, is the schnitzel sandwich (see photo). It's enough to fill everyone up.

The food was really excellent. We both had a baked schnitzel with potato rösti. A really small restaurant that looks totally inconspicuous from the outside. Inside (at least it seemed that way at first glance) it is relatively small, which is why the fit is quite tight.

We visited the restaurant with a group of eight people. Unfortunately there were not enough menus available for all guests. In addition, two dishes were served with a delay of 15 minutes compared to the remaining six dishes. What is positive, however, is the generous portion size, which ensures that every guest is full. The ambience is rustic, but the renovation style seems a bit thrown together.

Hat leider stark nachgelassen, ehemals einer der super wirtschaften im nahen steigerwald und eben Gerolzhofen. Wie so oft... früher waren die Portionen größer und man ist satt geworden, jetzt braucht man auch eine Vorspeise. Größter Nonsens ist dieses 2 Schichten Zeit-System. Aufgrund der Nachfrage und dem kleinen Restaurant hat man sich dort im Schlappen wohl dazu entschieden, mit dem 2 Schicht System den Gewinn zu maximieren, die Leute sollen nur kurz was essen und dann wieder gehen. jedenfalls 17 bis 19 Uhr und 19 Uhr bis Ende. möchte man um 18 Uhr essen gehen, klappt das nicht. schade, hat sich für uns in Zukunft erledigt. Dieses "made in USA" handhabe mit 2 Schichten System unterstützen wir nicht. Zudem langen uns die Portionen nicht mehr zum satt werden.

Small portions and tasteless. The atmosphere in the inn was very dingy. The front door is totally broken. Here you get a first impression. Cobwebs in the window corners and bench "decorated" with hair from previous guests. Were there at 5 p.m. right after the doors opened. Other guests were simply seated at our table without asking. Someone from the staff constantly comes to the table and asks if everything is okay. That's annoying. Never again!!

We were guests on a Sunday evening. The waitress was quick to take our orders and despite the many guests in the restaurant, we didn't have to wait long for the food (about 10-15 minutes after ordering). The selection of meat-free dishes could be more varied and an online presence would be desirable, especially in this day and age. There is a FB page, but it is out of date. It would be nicer to have your own homepage. We'd love to come back!

Die Eingangstüre macht schon einen sehr soliden Eindruck! Scherz!! Eher Pappkarton-Entree! Bedienung rustikal freundlich, Essen ebenso, Wirsing in Hippglas konsistens kenne ich so auch nicht. Die Tische könnten mal grundsaniert werden, da nützt die lange Tischdecke auch nichts, wenn die Spanplatte trotzdem drunter vorkommt. Aber, die dicke Staubschicht und die Spinnweben auf der Toilette geht gar nicht! Meine Mutter sagte immer, wie die Toilette so die Küche! Wir kommen nicht mehr🙄

Because of the numerous recommendations - the name Schlappn was often mentioned in my environment - I finally found my way there. Absolutely recommended, very friendly there, great price/performance ratio, food very tasty, it just fit.

We actually know and like Schlappn, but unfortunately we have now had to experience him from a different side! We were there on a weekend and had made reservations for outside in good time. It took almost 5 minutes to find the reservation, but unfortunately there was only one space left inside. Not so great... then what did we reserve outside for? The kitchen was working at full steam and food was constantly coming out. Nevertheless, it took almost 80 minutes until we received our side salad, and the food arrived 90 minutes after we ordered. With all due respect: we had planned for a little more time, but that's too long. At some point you're just hungry and want to eat. The waitress could have pointed out this long waiting time when ordering, but she was clearly overwhelmed by it. By the way, the Schäufele was already sold out at 12:15 p.m., which we couldn't understand at all. Unfortunately, you could tell from the food that the quality in the kitchen was suffering due to the high time pressure. The steak was ordered rare but was well received. One schnitzel, on the other hand, was far too light in breading, which suggests that the temperature in the pan was too low. This shouldn't happen, especially at an inn that is famous for its schnitzels. All in all disappointing as we have eaten better here. In the future we will avoid Schlappn at such peak times.

We booked a table for 6 people three days in advance and got a table for four. The first meal was delivered 1 1/4 hours after ordering. It wasn't the service, but obviously the kitchen couldn't keep up. The food was generously portioned but tasted mediocre. For me, this restaurant visit is not worth remembering.

We have now used the service three times and have been disappointed each time. Today we waited almost 1 3/4 hours for our food, which was then served lukewarm. The food itself is okay, but there is little variety on the menu. The staff often seems unfriendly and seems overwhelmed by the number of guests. Perhaps it would be worth considering offering less takeaway food so that guests don't have to wait as long in the restaurant. Unfortunately we left today really disappointed and don't know if we will come back again. What a shame!
