Gasthaus Schlappn in Gerolzhofen

We were guests on a Sunday evening. The waitress was quick to take our orders and despite the many guests in the restaurant, we didn't have to wait long for the food (about 10-15 minutes after ordering). The selection of meat-free dishes could be more varied and an online presence would be desirable, especially in this day and age. There is a FB page, but it is out of date. It would be nicer to have your own homepage. We'd love to come back!

Die Eingangstüre macht schon einen sehr soliden Eindruck! Scherz!! Eher Pappkarton-Entree! Bedienung rustikal freundlich, Essen ebenso, Wirsing in Hippglas konsistens kenne ich so auch nicht. Die Tische könnten mal grundsaniert werden, da nützt die lange Tischdecke auch nichts, wenn die Spanplatte trotzdem drunter vorkommt. Aber, die dicke Staubschicht und die Spinnweben auf der Toilette geht gar nicht! Meine Mutter sagte immer, wie die Toilette so die Küche! Wir kommen nicht mehr🙄

Only once was it wrong with the choice of food, but it was taken back without any problem. Super nice staff, beautiful outdoor area. Always well attended. Reservation recommended! Rump steak very good, nothing better anywhere!

Very good food and cozy beer garden. Unfortunately, because it was very full, we had to wait 1.5 hours for our food. After the meal there is a schnapps or espresso/cappuccino on the house. We'll definitely be back.

Because of the numerous recommendations - the name Schlappn was often mentioned in my environment - I finally found my way there. Absolutely recommended, very friendly there, great price/performance ratio, food very tasty, it just fit.

We actually know and like Schlappn, but unfortunately we have now had to experience him from a different side! We were there on a weekend and had made reservations for outside in good time. It took almost 5 minutes to find the reservation, but unfortunately there was only one space left inside. Not so great... then what did we reserve outside for? The kitchen was working at full steam and food was constantly coming out. Nevertheless, it took almost 80 minutes until we received our side salad, and the food arrived 90 minutes after we ordered. With all due respect: we had planned for a little more time, but that's too long. At some point you're just hungry and want to eat. The waitress could have pointed out this long waiting time when ordering, but she was clearly overwhelmed by it. By the way, the Schäufele was already sold out at 12:15 p.m., which we couldn't understand at all. Unfortunately, you could tell from the food that the quality in the kitchen was suffering due to the high time pressure. The steak was ordered rare but was well received. One schnitzel, on the other hand, was far too light in breading, which suggests that the temperature in the pan was too low. This shouldn't happen, especially at an inn that is famous for its schnitzels. All in all disappointing as we have eaten better here. In the future we will avoid Schlappn at such peak times.

The excellent food fully compensates for the slightly longer waiting time. The service was attentive and extremely friendly and accommodating. You can spend a lovely evening here in a cozy atmosphere. The price-performance ratio is also very good. Absolute recommendation.

Very home-style cooking. Portions are plentiful and delicious 😋 😋 😋 😋 😋. I would have preferred a Schäuferle with dumplings but unfortunately it was already over. The beer garden was also very friendly and clearly laid out. The staff is super friendly and quick.

We booked a table for 6 people three days in advance and got a table for four. The first meal was delivered 1 1/4 hours after ordering. It wasn't the service, but obviously the kitchen couldn't keep up. The food was generously portioned but tasted mediocre. For me, this restaurant visit is not worth remembering.

We have now used the service three times and have been disappointed each time. Today we waited almost 1 3/4 hours for our food, which was then served lukewarm. The food itself is okay, but there is little variety on the menu. The staff often seems unfriendly and seems overwhelmed by the number of guests. Perhaps it would be worth considering offering less takeaway food so that guests don't have to wait as long in the restaurant. Unfortunately we left today really disappointed and don't know if we will come back again. What a shame!

90 minutes waiting time for 4 meals (and another 10 minutes for another 3!). Weak, although nice, service (we would have liked to drink more). Eat nothing special and too sweet (leave out the balsamic vinegar, especially with sauerbraten). Disappointed with the evening, okay price

Were outside in the beer garden, super nice & lots of plants. Service was very friendly and the food was great. The bread dumplings with chanterelle cream sauce are highly recommended. Recommended!

We were looking forward to Schäuferle. But it wasn't there anymore at 12:30 p.m. We decided on roast pork and sauerbraten. Roast pork totally dried out. Sauerbraten topped with balsamic cream. Far away from good Franconian food.

The food was very tasty, the service was friendly. The menu is manageable and of course the schnitzel bread is a must. You can sit comfortably in the beer garden. It's best to reserve a table.

The roast pork and the roast suckling pig were to die for. Haven't had such good roasts in a long time. The service was excellent. Schnapps or espresso from the house is exemplary. Lovely again!

We were passing through and were looking for a restaurant. This is when we became aware of the Gasthaus Schlappen and in advance: NOT DISAPPOINTED!!! What can I say, the food is super tasty, cheap and you get really good portions. We both had the liver dumpling soup, simply great. I had the Schäuferle from the wood-fired oven with dumplings and savoy cabbage. The dumplings are handmade, simply a top potato dumpling. The savoy cabbage is also good. The highlight was the crispy Schäuferle in combination with the really generous sauce (so say Schwob). Crust as it should, on the bone and the smoky taste of the wood oven is simply classy and unique. My friend had the cordon bleu with knöpfle and sauce. I haven't seen such great knöpfle in a long time, they definitely don't use too little egg. The cordon bleu was also great. At the end we also got 2 espressos on the house for the journey home. The service was SUPER friendly and personable! The inn inside and the beer garden outside are really great. Total bill €53 including coke and a bottle of water. So in our area it's getting really difficult with this level of quality. The Gasthaus Schlappn left a lasting positive impression on me. If I'm in the area in the future, a visit is a must! I would even go so far as to go there on the weekend (from Stuttgart) to have a good local meal. I haven't had it this good in a really long time.

A quaint, local restaurant without a lot of frills. The menu varies sufficiently, there are also vegetarian dishes. User food was served quickly and friendly, the quality of the food was very good. For what is on offer, the price can be viewed as rather cheap. We were there on a Saturday evening and were lucky to get a spot. If possible you should make a reservation. We were there at short notice and unannounced. It was still possible to provide a table for 4. 5 stars for that! We can fully recommend the Gasthaus Schlappn and would come back there at any time.

We experienced very friendly staff and very good food here. The children got their food first, and then the adults, that's how it has to be.

There is a small and cozy beer garden at this place, but you should always make a reservation if you want to go there, Dennis is always pretty full and busy.

Very child-friendly, food delicious! When you sit at the round table next to the counter and you're opposite in front of the acoustic panels, it starts to move visually because of the stripes. Maybe change something a bit. :)

Nice, quiet beer garden with sunny and shady spots. Mediterranean flair thanks to small fruit trees in the pots next to the tables: olives, lemons, tangerines, wine, palm trees. Hard-working, nice service. Big portions for little money. Krautheim beer. At the end there was a free espresso or schnapps.

The wild garlic cordon bleu was absolutely delicious 😋 and the portion was really good.

The food here is very good and highly recommended! We were also satisfied with the service. The ambience is a bit simple and the access door is almost intimidating, but we still felt quite comfortable and will definitely come back soon for the good food!

Very good food at very good prices, in my opinion the best restaurant in Gerolzhofen. Service was also super nice and no long waiting times. When we were there, we also had some special requests, which were fulfilled without any problems. We also asked for playing cards and got some straight away. Everything perfect

I can only recommend the Gasthaus Schlappn in Gerolzhofen if you want to enjoy typical Franconian cuisine in a pleasant atmosphere. It's one of the best restaurants in the area and I will definitely come back.

Ich war letzten Freitag das erste Mal dort. Es war sehr gemütlich, das Essen war super und reichlich😋. Auch das Personal war sehr aufmerksam und freundlich 😊. Es war auch eine große Schlange von "Essensabholer" da. Trotzdem ist das Personal freundlich geblieben. Werde das Lokal weiter empfehlen und auf jeden Fall auch wieder hingehen zum Essen 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Ein toller Tip wenn man gut fränkisch Essen möchte. Alles frisch und lecker angerichtet. Das Personal sehr nett. Am Schluss bekommt man noch ein Schnaps oder Espresso als Gruss des Hauses. Es ist sehr klein deshalb besser reservieren. Das besondere für Kinder der Piratenteller.

Wir waren gestern zu viert im Gasthaus Schlappn ..durch Zufall entdeckt und als gut befunden und das war nicht das letzte Mal das wir dort waren. Das Essen war seit langen mal wieder sehr lecker. Das Personsl sehr freundlich. Ich kann mit guten Gewissen diesen Gasthof sehr Empfehlen deshalb 5 Sterne

Sehr gut, Essen ist 1a. Reservieren ist empfohlen, mit Glück kann man auch so einen Platz ergattern.

Alles in allem nicht's besonderes. Service war sehr bemüht aber irgendwie überlastet. Die Getränke, vor allem das Bier, waren bei jeder Bestellung ohne Schaum und zu warm. Glaskrüge die noch warm sind, bei diesem Wetter, Hausaufgaben machen. Da kann der Düll nichts dafür, wenn das Bier nicht schmeckt. Essen durchschnittlich, viel Geschmacksverstärker, Salate ewig vorbereitet, Dressing puh, riesen Salatblätter, wohl für Hasen. Wurstsalat, welche Wurst? War fast nur Käse. Preise sind für diesen Durchschnitt ok. Ein weiterer Besuch muss aber deshalb nicht sein.

Hier wird mit Herz und Liebe gekocht! Die Portionen sind reichlich und es schmeckt wie bei Muttern , egal was man bestellt. Alles frisch zubereitet, alles lecker. Preis / Leistung ist überragend. Wir kommen immer wieder.

Das Essen schmeck sehr gut, Service ausgezeichnet. Die Gaststube sehr ordentlich. Hunde sind erlaubt.

Super urig eingerichtetes Wirtshaus. Bedienungen nett und freundlich. Das Essen kann man schlecht beschreiben, man muss es probieren. So gut wird hier gekocht. Auch die typischen Schnitzelbrote sind zu empfehlen. Abwechslungsreiche saisonale Küche. Wir freuen uns schon aufs Winter Grillen an Nikolaus. Wir kommen immer wieder. 👍🏻
