Gasthaus Rössle in Elzach

It was a wonderful evening in a beautiful setting with delicious food. The service was very warm and attentive. We would love to come back.

A very pleasant atmosphere in a lovely dining room with good soundproofing. The food (poacher's pan or small fish platter) was stylishly presented and tasted excellent. Delicious bread with two tasty spreads was served beforehand. Highly recommended, we'll be back.

The Rössle is a truly excellent restaurant. We've been there several times now. The food is imaginative and tastes superb. However, the service depends heavily on whether you know the owner or not. This is quite noticeable. When acquaintances arrive wearing an extremely cheap perfume, which they've applied liberally and whose scent overpowers everything else for a very long time, completely masking the aroma of the main course, the enjoyment is ruined. Despite mentioning these well-known guests, the owner unfortunately made no mention of it.

One of the best restaurants in the region! Michelin-star quality, and the prices are so fair!! I did the gourmet tour, which included the tavern menu in the evening! A must-do! The hotel rooms are very attractive and practically brand new. Manuel and his team are simply in a class of their own!

Great atmosphere. Very good quality. Excellent service. We didn't have a drinks menu. Maybe there isn't one. Drink prices (especially the alcoholic ones) were too high.

On October 17, three of us dined at the Gasthaus Rössle. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. From the ambiance to the excellent food and wine, we had a wonderful evening. The service was attentive and never intrusive. We felt comfortable. We're planning another visit during our upcoming summer vacation.

We had a delicious meal here. The ambiance invites you to linger. The dishes were a true taste experience. They were accompanied by matching regional wines and a delicious accompaniment from the kitchen. The service was exceptionally friendly, quick, and yet discreet. We felt very comfortable.

At the hotel, we felt very comfortable in the high-quality and comfortably furnished rooms. The breakfast was very varied and delicious, served in a beautiful, sun-drenched breakfast room. Can't we give it 10 stars ⭐️ and a Gold Medal? 😅 After 3 weeks in Germany and full of Slow Food discoveries, this restaurant undoubtedly deserves First Prize, both for the impeccable and extraordinary quality of the dishes and for the welcome and service, with a genuine smile and honest kindness. And for the rather unusual generosity (homemade bread, crispy and delicious with the starters and a small biscuit PLUS chocolate-hazelnut praline with the coffee and the bill, at no extra charge but with a smile)! And what a beautiful, super pleasant and beautifully appointed place! We would absolutely like to stay there for hours and hours more. I've never eaten a Wiener Schnitzel of such quality and freshness; the "light and healthy" option with fresh and crispy vegetables is fantastic! Or the pasta with venison meatballs, to die for! Very well-crafted and rich consommés. Very tasty coffees. Well, great! You have to do it!!! Bravo. Worth the detour, if not the trip.

I stumbled upon the Rößle Inn in Elzach today quite by chance, after taking my cuckoo clock in Schonach for repairs – without knowing at first where I'd actually landed. Until now, I only knew the Rößle through its Instagram account, which I was already thrilled with – and my expectations were absolutely met. The atmosphere is harmonious, the decor is lovingly designed, and the staff is exceptionally friendly and attentive. The food was excellent – ​​fresh, honest, and spot on. I participated in the gourmet tour. It was a thoroughly enjoyable day. Our backpacks were packed with excellent regional products, from sausages, cheeses, salads, and vegetables to delicious homemade bread, beer, wine, and sodas. Everyone - the owner and staff - is very friendly and makes you feel welcome as soon as you arrive. Tasteful room, elegant breakfast room (this is also the cooking school's place) with nice view and very good and tasty breakfast. The elegant bathroom had a great shower and the standard size bed was comfortable. Practical and friendly furnished, they got the best out of the limited space. Very clean. I also enjoyed the daily dishes and permanent menue in the restaurant. The only downside: the room was hot and stayed hot the whole night, as there is no aircon.

The reservation process is easy and efficient. The food was once again excellent, and the service was unobtrusive, yet efficient, friendly, and fast. This restaurant is highly recommended.

Today I have to go into a bit more detail. What I just had the chance to eat was outstanding. I opted for the chef's menu (meat) with an intermediate course instead of dessert. As always, it started with homemade sourdough bread with two spreads. A perfect start. Then I had venison carpaccio which was so good I don't want any more beef. For the intermediate course, I was surprised with venison nuts on celeriac puree. Absolutely delicious. And the sauce... gentlemen... After a sour cream and lime sorbet, the main course was veal loin, potato fritters and mixed vegetables. Exactly my taste. Happily, I even got seconds of the sensational sauce without asking. That was a work of fine cuisine. Respect to the kitchen and the fantastic service team.

Es wurde einfach nur auf den Tisch gestellt ohne Besteck und rau in ihrer Köpersprache uns gegenüber. Dies hat die Atmosphäre für uns deutlich getrübt. Wir sind zweii/dreimal im Jahr da. Heute am 12.06.25 hatten wir mit 2 Personen 2x ein Wildgericht dreierlei Wild. Übereinstimmend: Alle Wildsorten waren gleichschmeckend und trocken, am besten haben die Beilagen geschmeckt. Die Vorspeise zuvor war ok. Der Platz neben dem Kachelofen war schön. Aber Ausstattung ist eben nicht alles! Man freut sich auf ein schönes Essen und geht mit einer Enttäuschung. Das darf für so ein Restaurant nicht sein.

We were here for dinner, so we can't comment on the hotel. What we received was honest and good. There was nothing to criticize about the execution. We enjoyed it. However, the service seemed a bit overwhelmed given the occupancy that day (congratulations). Perhaps a little more staff would have earned us a fifth star.

The rooms are very nice, but we didn't use them due to the "home advantage." The food is very varied, with seasonal, locally sourced dishes always on the menu. There are also great specials like Tasty Tuesday or the Wirtshaus menu. You can try something new here and simply enjoy it. We look forward to the next culinary experience at the Rössle.

Regardless of the rest, if you suddenly don't want to keep a fixed agreement and then, after reacting with shock, find yourself with everything canceled just four months before the wedding, that's not recommended at all! This review should be deleted for defamation, but unfortunately, this is exactly what happened years ago to my sister and, sadly, now deceased, brother-in-law. Anyone who has ever planned a dream wedding can certainly understand what it means for a couple to suddenly find themselves without a venue just before their wedding.

Ein besonders schwerwiegender Vorfall war, dass in einem Wildgericht tatsächlich eine Patrone gefunden wurde. Dies ist nicht nur äußerst unappetitlich, sondern birgt auch ein erhebliches Verletzungsrisiko. Nachdem wir uns im Nachgang erkundigt hatten, wurde uns bewusst dass das Fleisch um eine Einschusswunde nicht für den Verzehr in einem Restaurant geeignet ist. Soetwas kann und darf nicht passieren! Es ist für uns absolut unverständlich, dass es in einem solchen Fall weder eine Entschuldigung, ein Entgegenkommen noch eine Kleinigkeit aufs Haus Ihrerseits gab.

We always enjoy coming to Elzach in Rössle, whether for dinner or just a few days in the hotel. Very tasty food, great breakfast and very nice rooms.

This was our first time having dinner at the Rössle inn. For us a journey of 45 minutes. It was worth it. Service and food were excellent. We'd love to come back.

The schnitzel was very disappointing. My girlfriend was the chief guest, it was a gift for her 70th birthday. Unfortunately she was not satisfied. She wanted to visit the Rössle because she remembered the Rössle better. We drove specifically to the Elztal from Kenzingen or Teningen.

Rating from a restaurateur’s perspective: With regard to the food and the ambience, you can only give full marks here. Everything is clean, the rooms are large and yet there is a pleasant background noise. There is one point deducted for the rooms, because although everything makes an expensive, high-quality impression, the feeling of a coherent style concept is missing. It seems rather aloof and somewhat reminiscent of Catholic churches. I was there to introduce myself. Even before we had seen each other, I received an irritating email about my "delay" (the trains to Elzach have been running on the same timetable for a long time...). This is understandable since everyone has their own plans, but it is still a bit strange. When I spoke to the manager of the house, I had the feeling that he was looking for confrontation. His questions didn't seem curious, but more like an uncomfortable interrogation. I was not given any room for complete answers. Overall it was a very one-sided encounter. Since there was a lack of respect for listening, I finished the performance and knew that I had no place in such a capitalist-right-wing oriented place. The boss was too embarrassed to clear away the drinks and carelessly left the chair he had moved standing in the hallway. In my opinion, the sovereignty that the “Rössle” exudes is not reflected in the head of the house. Everyone should please make up their own minds. Sometimes days are more tense than others. The restaurant was also moderately busy, which may have increased the stress level. I came in peace and am leaving in peace. Hence my opinion as an applicant for the “Rössle”. The boss's behavior depresses the rating I give enormously. He is the head and is part of the overall evaluation.

Excellent restaurant where good home cooking is combined with excellence. You really feel welcome here and seen as an individual guest. We recently visited on the occasion of our wedding anniversary, I had stated this when making the reservation and our table was even reserved appropriately and all the employees even congratulated us when we served us. It doesn't cost anything, but it feels really great and I'm always impressed when the service works so well. The food was also excellent. The restaurant doesn't have a star, but it's close.
