Extremely cozy large outdoor area. Attentive staff and even an inexpensive lunch menu. Reservations are recommended, at least for the outdoor area.

We came spontaneously and sat outside first. All the tables inside were reserved, but since we, with our small daughter, were a bit cold, the very attentive service staff seated us directly inside when the first table inside became free. Very attentive. The food was great (asparagus with schnitzel and potatoes). All three ingredients were really tasty and freshly made. Plus attentive service staff. So, everything was great all around and totally recommended!

I've known the ladder truck for years and there's something about the rustic ambience. Now my husband should also get to know the restaurant and so our trip went to Bernau on Sunday. We hadn't made a reservation and despite a lot of hustle and bustle in the cart and garden, we were kindly assigned a table inside and we were happy to be patient while eating. Thank you very much for that and the food was great!

We have been to the Ladderwagen Inn several times. We really like the atmosphere. Inside and outside too. The staff is very pleasant, funny, not intrusive. The range of food and drinks is very diverse. Tastes great! Very good value for money. However, bringing dogs is no longer permitted.

We came here for the first time today and were totally thrilled. We were warmly welcomed and given a nice seat in the restaurant, which was furnished with attention to small details. The service was great and the food was unique. We took advantage of the offer for two for the price of one and never expected such large portions. So I also ordered an appetizer. And it was so delicious, at least for us who love garlic ❤️ Our main course was also great. Even the boiled potatoes are a poem. And everything was very tasty. We will definitely come back because if our child is with us, there is also a children's menu. Thank you very much for the lovely stay 😍

Unfortunately, a spontaneous visit was a flop. We quickly got a table upstairs, but we had hoped for more from the ambience. The service with the usual Berlin snout. If you like it, OK. To make it short. Ordered food. Classic. Pork schnitzel with croquettes, broccoli and a hollandaise sauce. The result: A mediocre schnitzel. Instead, nice and hard fried croquettes and a pile of limp, tasteless broccoli. Even the emulsion paint called Hollandaise sauce could no longer add any flavor. Conclusion: I was ashamed in front of my guests. The Berliner Schnauze asked if everything tasted good.

We were at the Leiterwagen inn today on the occasion of a birthday and had reserved in advance, which is definitely recommended, at least on Friday/weekend. The atmosphere was very cozy and... The employees were all really friendly and always had a funny saying. The food was absolutely delicious and everyone really enjoyed it. We have been to the Leiterwagen several times and the restaurant is one of our favorites in the north of Berlin. The reviews speak for themselves and rightly so. The cuisine is very good, the furnishings are comfortable and the service is very attentive. And you can still come with children. We feel very well looked after here.

On the one hand, very friendly service staff and despite the well-filled dining room, they also kept the time very well and in a nice atmosphere. On the other hand, the core of a restaurant is what it is the food. I may be spoiled in Berlin, but I only see 27 euros for three pieces of pork fillet as justified if the food is good. In detail, the meat was dry and the herb crust was just a seasoned breading that was also dry. The croquettes were ok, the broccoli was al dente and still OK. But both screamed for sauce and that was supposed to save the gorgonzola sauce. Only the chef knows why croquettes and herb crust are forced to marry with the Italian flair of Gorgonzola. In my opinion, a dark sauce would be more appropriate and please in sufficient quantities. But the restaurant has one plus point: if two people order the same thing, they are only charged once. From this point of view, you can exchange ideas together about what is on offer and at half the price your frustration with the food fades away. Unless you really want to eat delicious food and don't want to focus on money.

Chic ambience, but what was not pleasant during our visit on February 2nd, 2025 was that requests for a vegetarian dish (no bacon in the fried potatoes, vegetarian) were noted but not implemented. Too bad. I won't go into more detail now. The fish and salad were delicious.

This is a great spot. A bit hidden on the city wall, no through traffic, so you can also sit in the front garden when the weather is nice. Inside there are rustic rooms. We ate a lot, at reasonable prices. The service worked, the staff is very friendly. As a guest in this store you feel that you are welcome. There is a friendly atmosphere surrounding you. Important: book a table.

We have been in the ladder truck several times now and are always thrilled. The food is consistently very tasty and the price-performance ratio is good. The staff is always attentive without being intrusive and friendliness is always a top priority in the ladder truck. The ambience in this old house is always beautiful. Since we are definitely not alone in our opinion, you should always make a reservation before visiting.

Full marks. Despite the Christmas hustle and bustle, we got two places, the staff were very friendly and nice. The food (goose legs with dumplings) was a real culinary delight. It's worth stopping by here.

Were on December 7th. eat to 4t. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with my goose leg. I expected different quality for €31.90. Here only the price gets 5 stars. Unfortunately not recommended.

In my personal opinion, the price-performance ratio is not right here. I think it's simply too much to pay 25 euros for a pork schnitzel with broccoli. Furthermore, you were checked in relatively uncharacteristically at 9:30 p.m., with the words that you had too much to do the next day. I won't be a repeat offender here

If you are planning a meal together in a rustic setting, here is my recommendation. Despite the tense situation (many guests), we got a great table. The service was top and the food was in the higher price segment but really tasty.

Been here again after a long time and nothing has changed from my recession 6 years ago. A great evening with the usual atmosphere and delicious food. --- something was new for me: if two people order the same dish, ONLY ONE DISH WILL BE CHARGED --- The interior design has a good and old ambience, which is bearable on cooler days. In summer, the large, covered outdoor terrace is recommended. The menu is extensive. The food is fresh and tastes delicious. The friendly staff are quick to get down to business. The price structure is slightly higher, but reasonable. There can be problems, but walking a few meters is good too.

It is very rustically furnished and the entrance is a little hidden if you don't know the restaurant, but well signposted. Parking was very difficult to get because everything in the small yard was already full and there are special parking spaces for companies and residents. Unfortunately I didn't get enough. 4 half triplets with lamb not only look lean. This filling side dish won't fill you up. For €30 I expect there to be at least enough potatoes next to the lamb to potentially empty the dip. Tasty, but a false economy.

We were spontaneously in Bernau this lunchtime and just as spontaneously stopped for dinner in the ladder truck. The weather was nice so we sat outside on the terrace. We gratefully accepted the meal (matjes) with drink, the offer to order 2 and only pay for 1 meal. The food, service and weather were fantastic and there is nothing to complain about. We would therefore be happy to come back.

Just let us know when you make your reservation that dogs are forbidden, then you won't be traveling for free.

Great restaurant. Almost everything was right here. A bit meat-heavy and I assume that unfortunately no organic meat is used. Apart from that, the food is super tasty and has great quality. All the employees were super friendly, quick and courteous. The atmosphere outside and in the great building is really nice. Overall: Rarely have we experienced something so good. Absolutely great. We will return there from Berlin.

We were there on August 17th, 2024 and had reserved. That was good, otherwise we wouldn't have found a place. We were able to sit outside. The ambience outside is ok. It's just a courtyard location that borders on a parking lot entrance. The service was very friendly and quick. The food was really, really good. Just as we imagined. Perfectly fried fried potatoes and fresh, mild herring. The garlic bread with cheese salad was delicious. As is the case everywhere these days, the prices are not cheap, especially for drinks. The quality was convincing.

We were there for the second time on Saturday and were thrilled again. Our anticipation was not disappointed. The food, whether it was a starter, main course or dessert, was incredibly tasty. The service was great, luckily we knew that it was best to make a reservation, but that wasn't a bad thing. We will definitely go there to eat again and we're looking forward to it already on it
