Mega delicious food. Good service.

Unfortunately, a spontaneous visit was a flop. We quickly got a table upstairs, but we had hoped for more from the ambience. The service with the usual Berlin snout. If you like it, OK. To make it short. Ordered food. Classic. Pork schnitzel with croquettes, broccoli and a hollandaise sauce. The result: A mediocre schnitzel. Instead, nice and hard fried croquettes and a pile of limp, tasteless broccoli. Even the emulsion paint called Hollandaise sauce could no longer add any flavor. Conclusion: I was ashamed in front of my guests. The Berliner Schnauze asked if everything tasted good.

Been here again after a long time and nothing has changed from my recession 6 years ago. A great evening with the usual atmosphere and delicious food. --- something was new for me: if two people order the same dish, ONLY ONE DISH WILL BE CHARGED --- The interior design has a good and old ambience, which is bearable on cooler days. In summer, the large, covered outdoor terrace is recommended. The menu is extensive. The food is fresh and tastes delicious. The friendly staff are quick to get down to business. The price structure is slightly higher, but reasonable. There can be problems, but walking a few meters is good too.

It was my first time here in the restaurant. The food was delicious and the service was great. It is very rustically furnished and the entrance is a little hidden if you don't know the restaurant, but well signposted. Parking was very difficult to get because everything in the small yard was already full and there are special parking spaces for companies and residents. Great offer taken advantage of, if two people order the same meal, you only pay for one meal, a really great idea.

Unfortunately I didn't get enough. 4 half triplets with lamb not only look lean. This filling side dish won't fill you up. For €30 I expect there to be at least enough potatoes next to the lamb to potentially empty the dip. Tasty, but a false economy.

We were spontaneously in Bernau this lunchtime and just as spontaneously stopped for dinner in the ladder truck. The weather was nice so we sat outside on the terrace. We gratefully accepted the meal (matjes) with drink, the offer to order 2 and only pay for 1 meal. The food, service and weather were fantastic and there is nothing to complain about. We would therefore be happy to come back.

Just let us know when you make your reservation that dogs are forbidden, then you won't be traveling for free.

Great restaurant. Almost everything was right here. A bit meat-heavy and I assume that unfortunately no organic meat is used. Apart from that, the food is super tasty and has great quality. All the employees were super friendly, quick and courteous. The atmosphere outside and in the great building is really nice. Overall: Rarely have we experienced something so good. Absolutely great. We will return there from Berlin.

I'm thrilled. A beautiful half-timbered house, the people are friendly, the food is good. What more could you want?

We were there on August 17th, 2024 and had reserved. That was good, otherwise we wouldn't have found a place. We were able to sit outside. The ambience outside is ok. It's just a courtyard location that borders on a parking lot entrance. The service was very friendly and quick. The food was really, really good. Just as we imagined. Perfectly fried fried potatoes and fresh, mild herring. The garlic bread with cheese salad was delicious. As is the case everywhere these days, the prices are not cheap, especially for drinks. The quality was convincing.

We were there for the second time on Saturday and were thrilled again. Our anticipation was not disappointed. The food, whether it was a starter, main course or dessert, was incredibly tasty. The service was great, luckily we knew that it was best to make a reservation, but that wasn't a bad thing. We will definitely go there to eat again and we're looking forward to it already on it

"Although the garden was later completely empty except for one other guest, guests who said they just wanted a drink were turned away. Previously, reservation signs had been put up everywhere. Two more coaches came, haha. Afterwards the waitress also commented on the people. That's not possible, it's completely unprofessional." A guest wrote this in his review. Unfortunately, he or she didn't listen properly, so he or she didn't understand the situation properly. Since I was also a witness to this situation, I can say the following: The guests were not turned away, not even when a lady said "We are no longer in the East"! The waiter simply pointed out that this comparison should be avoided and that the comment was unnecessary. He also explained that a certain system had to be used because in the near future all tables would be needed for the evening business and he had to see which table would still be suitable for being able to have a drink. But the lady chose not to say anything and didn't want to listen. Apparently she was uncomfortable with the situation after she noticed how strange she was behaving and left again with her two companions. A lady at the next table couldn't understand the comment "We're not in the East anymore" and spoke to the waiter about how she found it impossible how the lady behaved. It's nice that other guests notice that there are two sides to the story and that it's all a matter of listening and understanding properly. But the main thing is to write something quickly, regardless. The main thing is that it is incoherent and half-true. All I can say is: Great team, great food, great ambience. Thank you.

The extremely friendly service made our stay a very pleasant experience. We were also compensated a little for the traffic chaos in the city center in the "ladder wagon". All in all, a highly recommended place to dine.

Yesterday we had lunch in the rustic “Leiterwagen” inn in Bernau. Luckily we had made a reservation by phone a few days in advance and were immediately informed that in summer the service is not indoors, but on the shaded sun terrace. Covered by large parasols, located between old walls and cleverly separated by rustic plants, illuminated especially in the evening - a romantic picture. When we arrived promptly at around 12:15 p.m., most of the tables were already occupied and service was in full swing. "We'll be there for you soon," and we were warmly greeted by an attentive, friendly young man. When we asked for a quiet table, he said he would see what he could do, and just a few minutes later we were given a wonderful table on the edge, facing the building. A wonderfully cozy place with the chirping of sparrows, a friendly table and an attentive waiter - what more could you want? Something delicious to eat, of course. And that's where things really get down to business in the "ladder wagon". A huge thank you to the chef for the perfectly coordinated, harmonious dishes. We had, among other things, the "saddle of lamb with mini potatoes/dip, with a delicious cucumber, tomato and feta cheese salad" in a great dressing from the highly recommended Mediterranean menu as well as the "tavern skewer with vegetables and croquettes". Thanks to the promotion "If two guests order the same main course, only one dish is charged", which is still in effect and has been in effect for many years, an affordable price with extremely high quality. We were able to afford a visually stunning and also very tasty dessert. We decided on two sundaes of peach Melba and two crème brûlée and drank the obligatory "Himmelspforter Raspberry Brause" and a homemade melon-mint lemonade. Completely satisfied, we spent a wonderful birthday dinner in a harmonious environment, with the best food and very attentive service - despite, as I said, the terrace being fully booked, with always a smile on our faces. We can absolutely recommend the “ladder wagon”; It's no longer an insider tip; probably also thanks to the well-coordinated customer-oriented team. We would be happy to come back at any time *****

The inn is highly recommended. However, you should make a reservation. The outdoor area is very popular, but staying indoors is also very pleasant. It is an old building that has been redesigned with a lot of love. If 2 identical meals are ordered, only 1 needs to be paid for. The quality of the food is good and the staff is courteous. A visit is always worth it.

Ich habe mich bisher mit Bewertungen von Restaurants zurückgehalten, doch wie wir gestern von einer Angestellten (schwarzhaarig) behandelt wurden, hat mir eine schlaflose Nacht bereitet. Wir waren aufgrund des schönen Ambientes schon oft im "Leiterwagen", aber mittlerweile können wir uns aufgrund der unprofessionellen (pampigen und bloßstellenden) Behandlung nicht mehr an der Lokalität erfreuen. Als Ausnahme ist jedoch ein junger Kellner zu nennen, der uns sehr höflich bediente. Einige Servicekräfte vergreifen sich jedoch zunehmend im Ton, was mir besonders in den letzten Monaten auffiel. Ein kurzer Abriss unseres gestrigen Besuches: Begrüßt wurden wir, meine 78-jährige Mutter und ich, von o.g. Kellnerin recht barsch mit der Frage, ob wir denn reserviert hätten. Wir verneinten und wurden, obwohl die halbe Terrasse frei war, an einem Zweiertisch in der "Einflugschneise" des Restaurants platziert, wo es sehr windig war und zog. Auf unsere Frage, ob wir nicht einen anderen Tisch bekommen könnten, verkündigte sie, dass alle Zweiertische besetzt seien und empörte sich lautstark und entrüstet über meinen Vorschlag, uns an einen anderen Tisch setzen zu dürfen. Die Tische seien reserviert und ob ich nicht sehe, dass ständig neue Gäste kommen (eher das Gegenteil war 13:30 Uhr der Fall). Dass stets alle Tische mit einem "reserviert"-Kärtchen versehen werden, ist bei Insidern ein offenes Geheimnis - zur Regulation des Gästeverkehrs, wie mir jmd. berichtete. Den Tisch in der Sonne können wir noch haben, aber dort müssen wir dann auch sitzenbleiben, polterte o.g. Kellnerin weiter. Schließlich "erkämpften" wir uns einen Tisch auf der heiligen Terrasse. Kurze Zeit später durften am Vierertisch (!) neben uns zwei nette Herren (die auch nicht reserviert hatten ;-)) Platz nehmen. Die Terrasse leerte sich in den kommenden 1,5 Stunden und ich fragte mich, ob alle Reservierungen abgesagt wurden :-))? Laut website wird aktuell eine neue Servicekraft gesucht - ich wünsche mir, dass eine Person, für die der Beruf Berufung ist und die mit Menschen wertschätzend umgeht, gefunden wird. Wir werden unserem anderen Stammlokal, dem "Casa vicina", treu bleiben, denn dort gehen wir immer mit einem "freien Herzen" nach Hause. K. Weiß

Super unfriendly staff! Never again

Staff is absolutely unfriendly. You are not met at the entrance, but waved over with a listless expression and asked what you want. All answers are snippy. You don't feel welcome, even though we had reserved. If you don't like your job, please change. I can't say anything about the food.

Had a spontaneous meal today in the cart. We received a friendly and friendly welcome from the service staff. Current offer: 2 same meals for the price of one. We both had juicy Angus beef goulash, red cabbage and steamed potatoes and a drink each. We paid a total of 32 EUR. Price-performance ratio was right, service was very good and the atmosphere was appealing. We can only recommend the restaurant and will come back.

We were there today with 4 adults and 2 children The ambience is simple and rustic (quaint) furnished very nicely. We were warmly welcomed and brought to the table. Were served quickly and special requests were taken into account. The children both had penne with tomato sauce. The tomato sauce is served separately and is very delicate. The food is prepared simply and simply, which I really like (no fancy, luckily) Plenty of large portions (no photo on the plate) that are completely sufficient. There's definitely room for dessert. What I personally didn't like was the menu itself, as it's unfortunately not clear what is a starter and what isn't. But you can ask about the portion size Conclusion Everyone was full and very happy Definitely coming back

Super tasty, friendly and beautiful! The ladder truck was recommended to my wife and I by a friend. Rightly so! I spontaneously made a reservation 4 hours in advance and still got a table. Reservations are a good idea. The ladder truck is a beautiful, historic building and has a very rustic interior. We sat on the terrace outside, which was modern and had parasols, patio heaters, cushions and blankets. The staff was very friendly and quick, and our questions were answered well. The house specialty is warm, homemade dishes. My wife had duck in honey coating with fried potatoes and apple red cabbage, I had ox cheeks with Thuringian dumplings and buttered carrots. You can choose the side dish, whether dumplings, fried potatoes or normal potatoes, you just have to ask. We both loved the food and will definitely be back. The bill for drinks and food was around €71, which is completely reasonable. There are also cheaper options here...

The atmosphere is super nice! Unfortunately, a lot of other things are still missing. You could happily accept the prices for a completely successful restaurant visit, but everything really has to be right when it comes to prices! Unfortunately, the staff seemed extremely listless (apart from the chef, who walked by twice - very friendly!) and the side salad was freshly taken out of the fridge on a small plate, as if from a cheap Indian restaurant. You really don't expect that from the first impression there. Everything can be arranged lovingly and beautifully. Unfortunately, we won't go back here again for the prices, despite the really great starter that we highly recommend (garlic bread with cheese salad)! Otherwise the food was good but as I said, like the staff, it seemed rather listlessly prepared.

The Ladderwagen is a rustic inn with very friendly staff. The food is also really tasty, but the prices are quite steep and the portions are reasonable. Since the atmosphere is really cozy, we would like to come back.
